Hello everyone Smile

Well I have been struck by an evil tummy bug and was up all night being I'll from both ends (sorry if tmi).

I spoke to the midwife yesterday as I had previously tried to get an appointment with the gp. Luckily there is a receptionist I know and she passed my details straight on. I have registered myself for antenatal care.

Initially when I spoke to mw she said she would book me at 10 weeks which would be the beginning of march. After explaining our situation and that we need a cvs done at 12 weeks she is now booking me on 10th feb (when I will be 6.5 weeks).

She has also managed to speak to the consultant about doing the test in our local hospital rather than us travelling upto London and they say they can do it so we won't have to worry about travelling as far afterwards.

Anyway I've been lying on the sofa all day feeling proper Sad and sorry for myself and just managed a tiny bowl of soup!

Hope everyone else is feeling better than me today!!

Hey Winnie, hope you are feeling better today. Sounds grim. Do you mind me asking what a cvs is?

Littleplasticpeople · 28/01/2012 12:44

Tentatively joining. Just got faint bfp, website due date calculator giving edd 8th. Smile

Winnie81 · 28/01/2012 12:47

Yes feeling better today thank goodness!

A cvs test is done at 12 weeks and I think they take a sample through your tummy either from placenta or fluid. It has it's risks but they outweigh the reasons for having the tests done.

Hello! Can I join too? DC2 EDD 8th Oct, after 13 months of TTC. It's not quite sunk in yet! Period would have been due tomorrow so it'll feel real when / providing it doesn't turn up!

DeeLite · 28/01/2012 19:41

Welcome and congratulations littleplasticpeople and Finallyfinally. What age is your DC Finallyfinally? Mine is 18 months and we had hoped for a 20 month gap but are pretty happy with the gap we'll have. Fx (we're doing a lot of crossing fingers and touching wood in my house right now!).

HeyMicky · 28/01/2012 19:48

waves to littleplasticpeople and Finallyfinally

Finallyfinally · 28/01/2012 22:07

DD is 28 months - we'd hoped for just over 2 years, all going well it'll be just over 3. Which is fine. Still doesn't seem real, really! Aside from the fact it feels like midnight and is only 10ish - off to bed Night all!

WeeSooty · 29/01/2012 09:31

Hello and Congrats to littleplasticpeople and Finallyfinally Grin

Winnie Glad you are feeling better, what a rotten time to be ill!

Thank you Deelight for your reassurance. I am feeling slightly better emotion wise, I still get moments of absolute terror but its not as bad as it was at the start of last week! Its reassuring to see ladies on here on already have children, hits it home that clearly other people manage to have babies and still want more! Lol

Physically I?ve been totally shattered and really quite nauseous, I?m not sure if the sickyness is a symptom or still just the shock but I?m finding a glass of cool milk is really helpful to soothe it.

How is everyone? Hope you have all had a good weekend Smile

Finallyfinally · 29/01/2012 16:11

Weesooty we tried for DD1 for four months, I was desperate to get pregnant and was thrilled but when I went into Borders for a pregnancy book I saw all the endless baby titles and freaked out. DH was like, "what? You wanted to get pregnant, what are you talking about?"

Of course it's a big deal. Of course you're nervous. But the "la la la everything's fine" pregnancy hormones will kick in soon. You'll feel better then Grin

Bubblebell1 · 30/01/2012 07:14

Hi girls, do you mind if I join? Faint Bfp for last 3 mornings. Only just sinking in.
Dc3 for me and dc2 for dp. edd is 8 oct

Wanted to say hi to everyone and wish everyone luck Grin

GizzyBoo · 30/01/2012 08:46

Morning all Smile

Well I thought I would throw myself in seeing as I got my BFP 20 minutes ago GrinGrin

DC 4 for us after a huge gap and TTC for about 14 months. Was dying to tell hubby before he headed off but the kids were about and I didn't get chance.

I waited until 6 days late to test after previously getting my hopes up so that line this morning has come as a right shocker!!

Cautious DD of 2nd October GrinGrin

Bubblebell1 · 30/01/2012 10:34

Morning gizzyboo

Congratulations. I just sent a mms of the pregnancy test to my dp!
Can't actually believe it. Want to do another incase it's not true! Blush

GizzyBoo · 30/01/2012 11:34

Oh I know how you feel Bubble....I keep popping back to check I read it properly....but it was very clear and came up in seconds so I really can't have got it wrong can I?? Blush
Anyone would think I have never done this before Grin

I feel like such a novice again lol

Bubblebell1 · 30/01/2012 11:59

Haha me too. Cheap test has a very faint line but was instant so just got a cb digital and it's a definite pregnant 1-2 Grin

Wooohooo

GizzyBoo · 30/01/2012 12:30

Woooohooooo Congratulations Bubble GrinGrin

Fingers crossed we all have a stress free, trouble free next few months!!

HeyMicky · 30/01/2012 12:43

Congratulations Bubble and Gizzyboo !

Pezzina · 30/01/2012 16:12

Yay! Congratulations on your BFPs ladies :) I don't think it matters whether it is your first baby or not - the wonderful feeling you get when seeing the line appear or the word pregnant is amazing.

I did a CB digital test and it now says 3+ weeks so that makes me 5 weeks pregnant.

So how is everyone feeling at the moment? I'm tired, bloated and was slightly nauseous this morning.

I think I'll call my doctors surgery tomorrow and register with the midwife.

Am so excited. We're in the process of selling our house and moving and on Saturday we found the house we want to move to. It was very exciting looking at the bedrooms and thinking about a nursery again for a little one.

DeeLite · 30/01/2012 19:10

Congratulations and welcome Bubble and Gizzyboo. Well done on holding out so long on testing Gizzyboo. I was testing from 8dpo Blush.

Pezzina we are also thinking of a house move but DH needs persuading. We had a second viewing of the house of my dreams (except it has a north facing garden) on Saturday but DH has big reservations including on price which is understandable seeing as I'll hopefully be swanning off on maternity leave in about 8 months' time...yay!!!

KPT083 · 31/01/2012 10:50

Hi, Please can I be another cautious one?
Got our BFP this morning (done two), this will be our 1st, had mmc in Aug. Now i'm scared it may happen again.
All symptoms are good, achy boobs, tired and broken sleep. But in all honesty (feel free to remind me of this months down the road when I am complaining)I don't care how sick or tired I get as long as this one sticks

GizzyBoo · 31/01/2012 10:51

Thanks all Smile

It wasn't just me being good holding out on the testing DeeLite (although I was reluctant to test after being 8 days late last month) but we were away visiting family and I wanted to wait until we got home.

Told hubby last night once I managed to find a spare minute away from the other 3. We spent the rest of the evening sneakily grinning at each other when no one else was looking Grin He then got on auto trader looking for a suitable 7 seater....typical bloke lol

How is everyone feeling today? I think I am 5 weeks today and feeling rather sicky. I had hyperemesis with the last 2 and ended up in hospital a few times so hoping this one is going to be a little easier.

Pezzina I think I probably should call the surgery too but don't feel quite ready yet Blush

I think due to the fact we are not telling anyone yet this place could become slightly addictive lol.

x

GizzyBoo · 31/01/2012 10:54

Hi KPT083
Welcome and congratulations.

Sorry about your mmc ((((((((((X)))))))))))
I think we are all probably feeling slightly cautious and unsure at this stage and it is all perfectly normal. We can all worry together here.

Finallyfinally · 31/01/2012 11:02

Morning girls - congratulations on the new BFPs! Grin

KT - so sorry to hear about your previous mmc. Is there any chance of you having an early scan? My GP told me last time that once they've been a heartbeat the chance of miscarriage before 12 weeks plummets. That might give you some reassurance...

When are you girls going for your booking in appointments? I can't remember when I did it last time!

GizzyBoo · 31/01/2012 11:25

Hi Finally
I really don't feel ready for the docs yet. I suppose I should call them as I had an ectopic some years ago and was sent for an early scan with my last due to this.
I am feeling lazy though and really don't feel like leaving the island again as we are only just back from visiting family on the mainland.

I may see how I feel tomorrow and give them a call then.

Can you self refer to the midwives where you are??

HeyMicky · 31/01/2012 12:54

Hi all,
I can't get in for a hospital appointment till the 3rd week of Feb, at 9 weeks.

My doctor didn't do a blood test etc, and I wasn't given an official EDD. They've said as long as I feel well, there's no need to see anyone - is this standard?
9 weeks seems late for the first check up, so close to the 12 week scan
