So I know I'm really lucky in having not many symptoms yet but..., I had to do another test just to make sure - and CB digital says 3+ Smile Phew!!

And I am only at 5+4, and pg symptoms may not really hit til 6 wks+ but this whole thing is really nerve wracking...I do have some:- mood swings, enough wind to rival a wind farm, bloating but my boobs aren't sore, nor do I have ms...as yet. I'm honestly not complaining but I need a bit of peace of mind - do you know what I mean? Any of you old-timers Grin have any advice for a Google-obsessive 34 yr old first-timer? And by old timers, I just mean anyone who's further along than me?!!

Sorry for fussing Sad

Chrestomanci · 28/02/2012 20:01

Loopy - you may not get morning sickness, I didn't last time, although sadly I think it kicks in later with some so you may not have dodged it just yet Grin

I had my scan on Monday, and the baby is in the right place! Couldn't see much as its so early, but saw the yolk sac. Feeling much happier now, just have the normal pregnancy worries and not thinking every twinge was proof that it was ectopic...

RunningOutOfIdeas · 28/02/2012 20:13

Sorry for posting once then running away this afternoon. I had to pick DD up from nursery. She is getting over a cold and although she had a good day at nursery it really took all her energy so she was tired and tearful this evening. DD is always very generous so she has shared her cold with me - I feel bloody awful. DH is abroad until April so I am feeling a bit lonely and struggling. Fortunately I have not had MS just nausea. I did not work today because of my cold and I think I will stay home tomorrow. I will probably tell my manager that I am PG so she understands why I being so crap with this cold. I am very lucky that she is really understanding.

LoopyLa STAY AWAY FROM GOOGLE! Children are designed to worry you - they don't even wait to be born before they start causing you all kinds of grief. I am sure the reason most of our parents are so happy to hear about our BFPs is because they are thinking we will now understand all the worry and trouble we caused them.

goodsenseofdirection · 28/02/2012 21:21

LoopyLa - i know the feeling - I'm trying to enjoy the fact that my symptoms are mild at 7+5 but having doubts too!! i do have mood swings, burst into tears in a second, just slightly tender boobs but... in the last few days i've been feeling slightly off colour on the bus or staring at the screen in work so that's definitely not usual for me. i may not have escaped yet!

Good news Chrestomanci and hope you feel better RunningOut

pinpan · 29/02/2012 06:35

Hooray for all the happy scans, and good luck to the ones coming up!

I had heard bad things about liquorice in pregnancy too, though I think you have to eat quite a lot of it to actually do harm. I'm hankering after liquorice allsorts but fobbing myself off with maltesers.

Very pleased with myself yesterday and today for putting my jeans on for the first time in six weeks. Just don't tell anyone that the button was held next to the button hole with a hair bobble, and was very definitely not going to be done up properly... Grin

Has anyone else been having rather selective MS? I seem to have trouble keeping water or juice down, especially first thing in the morning, though my trusty bowls of shreddies have never yet come back to greet me. People at work are beginning to look a bit oddly at me for drinking glasses of milk at tea breaks though! (Is it possible to drink too much milk?)

babybrain3 · 29/02/2012 07:02

Congratulations to all those with good news!! ???

My ms seems to have lessened now too, I just tend to get the odd wave of it now and then. I also just have a kind of foggy bleugh feeling most of the tine though. Which isn't good as I am being assessed today at work ?

In other news though I am 9 weeks today!! And shall be calling the doctors to find out what's going on with my midwife appt as I still haven't heard anything ?

pinpan · 29/02/2012 08:12

Turns out that maltesers don't stay down long either. Hmm

Good luck with the work assessment, babybrain!

GizzyBoo · 29/02/2012 09:33

hehe I txt hubby yesterday saying the wee baby was about the size of a jelly baby now! so he brought me a packet of jelly babies when he came in from work! I have just had them after breakfast and now feel very very sick Envy

Oh Pinpan I bet that wasn't too pleasant!

Will be thinking of all the scanners today and pacing the thread until we hear news Thanks

We told the older 2 kids last night! I went to bed shattered at 7:30 and at 7:35 got a BBM from DD asking if I had a really big secret would I tell them?? Hmm so we took it they had guessed!
Well it couldn't have gone better....we were literally bowled over with hugs and kisses and there was masses of squeals! It was very funny seeing the almost 15 year old buy grinning like a loon.
They brought me breakfast in bed this morning Grin then just stood there grinning at me lol.....I think they are pleased Grin

KPT083 · 29/02/2012 09:46

Aww, that's lovely Gizzy Grin

Really pleased to hear yesterdays news about the scans. I hope todays go just as well.

I'm not really craving anything, though maybe savoury food more than sweet, and lots of it! Still no ms, ever so slight nausea when I'm hungry, but the tiredness is the biggest killer for me. I cried when I woke up to go to work this morning as I couldn't face the prospect of not having a nap until later this afternoon! Blush

KPT083 · 29/02/2012 09:57

pinpan I been doing that with a bobble on my jeans since last week Grin[Grin]. Sorry to hear about the malteesers, maybe you could make malteeser milksake instead??

Gizzyboo what a wonderful reaction GrinGrin

Hope you get your midwife appt sorted babybrain

LoopyLa · 29/02/2012 10:24

Thanks for the talking to ladies, I really appreciated it! I haven't told anyone yet except DH and one very close friend who's expecting just a few days before me (triplets via IUI - YIKES!!! Shock ) so these boards really DO help Thanks

And RunningOut, I loved your comment, it's so true lol!

Goodsense I'm glad I'm not alone in this Smile

Gizzyboo how sweet is that??!!

Scan at noon, getting nervous now ...

Psammead · 29/02/2012 11:46

Got my blood results back from my appointment last week. Very low progesterone, apparently. Got to go pick up prescription in an hour or so. Feeling very scared Sad

GizzyBoo · 29/02/2012 12:10

Good luck ishe Smile

psam I'm not sure what that means, sorry Blush I hope this is just a blip and everything is ok Thanks

Thunder ds1 is almost 15, dd is 13 and ds2 is just gone 9. We didn't tell ds2 because he would have found it impossible not to blab Grin

I have cleaned the house, cleaned out the stove, done 2 loads of washing and prepared a roast dinner this morning....I have now come back to bed Blush

Gizzy, progesterone 'stabilizes' the pregnancy. Low levels can contribute to miscarriage and early labour. Terrified me. Nothing that can be done now except take the suppliments, I guess.

GizzyBoo · 29/02/2012 12:38

I have been googling Psam......What were your levels at??

Psammead · 29/02/2012 12:49

I don't know, she never said and I didn't think to ask on the phone. I am waiting for DD to finish her nap and then I will pop in for the prescription and I'll ask.

I did another pg test too, just to make sure Blush and it was positive.

HeyMicky · 29/02/2012 13:42

Aw, gizzy that's lovely. Mine's currently as bug as a prune, so happy if Dh doesn't bring me any of those.

Good luck ishe

Re licorice, the study (which was pretty small and collected data retrospectively, from what I can see, and was a one off) involved women eating 500mg of glycyrrhizin - that's quite a lot. It had more to do with raising hormone levels and allowing the baby to be affected by the mothers' stress than a direct effect on development (thankyou Google Wink)

MakeTeaNotWar · 29/02/2012 13:57

Yay to all the good news scans.

psam I've never heard of that and I am sorry you are anxious but at least it's been discovered and is now being sorted out. Good luck with it all.

9+2 here and met a friend for lunch yesterday and she is exactly the same as me, expecting DC2 and due the day after me Oct 2! Bonkers.

I am still feeling good, no MS thank goodness and the tiredness is pretty self-induced (ate too much dinner last night then couldn't sleep - greedy guts). Still an AGE until I have my booking in appointment, not until next Thursday and hopefully I'll get a date for my 12 week scan then. It's going to be a long 40 weeks isn't it...or 42 weeks if DD1 has set a trend!

Psammead · 29/02/2012 15:34

Just got back. Progesterone levels of 7.37 when they should be somewhere between 20 and 30.

Got a prescription but it has to be ordered in so can't get it until tomorrow.

No idea what to think, really. I have calmed down a bit. I read that no-one really knows if low levels cause miscarriage, or if a failing pregnancy causes the low levels.

Psammead · 29/02/2012 16:09

HCG levels were 45190.

I have a scan a week tomorrow.

I took a pg test after I realised what it all meant and it was positive. I know that doesn't necessarily mean much.

No cramps, no spotting, nothing like that. That's good, right?
