I found the other group earlier too!! Had a quick scroll through, but they didn't have a list of names like we do, so I immediately thought it didn't feel as good as ours Wink Nothing like a snap decision eh Grin

Have just sent out DH for a takeaway...mmmm...is it right to be this hungry at only 5 weeks?! Must not get as fat as last time!!!!

MissPollysTrolleyed · 24/02/2012 19:25

Hello everyone especially all the newbies. I've been AWOL for ages; reading posts but not having time to reply.

Winnie, I was so sad to read about your little boy. I hope with all my heart and soul that everything goes well for you in this pregnancy. I can't imagine what you must have gone through. At least, it sounds like you have lots of happy memories of him.

On to more trivial matters, I had my booking appointment today. I was feeling pretty rubbish and it turns out I have really low blood pressure. The midwife took it three times as she thought the results must have been wrong - 70/50 which is apparently very low for someone who'd just been running around the room after a naughty toddler! Otherwise, they took blood and talked through my medical history and confirmed me as a low risk pregancy with my age (37) being the only risk factor. My scan is booked in for March 18th which hopefully also means that I only have about 3 weeks of first trimester ailments left. My MS disappeared at 11 weeks last time so I'm keeping my fx.

I've had a pretty hard old week (culminating in my DS doing a poo in the bath this evening Shock) so am very glad it's the weekend and that I have absolutely no plans - yay!

Bubblebell1 · 24/02/2012 20:36

Hello girls. Hope your feeling well.

gizzy ur man sounds great Grin

Currently in bed enjoying a child free weekend. Felt sick so ate and still feel sick. Got coldsores and spots. Sad don't know what I'm going to do with myself.

You girls got any plans for the weekend? X

Could someone please change my edd to 6th. I can't on my phone. Blush

CottonSock · 25/02/2012 08:50

Sounds like we are all with the right thread, might look at the other one to be nosey..

I had a load of dried pineapple this week, trying to substitute for chocolate, and it was lush (M&S). Don't know if it was a craving or not though. I keep waking up in the night hungry, not matter how much I have eaten, boobs are a little bit sensitive.. Could be symptoms I suppose!

Not been sleeping well at all. GP said I could try some piriton (sp), but that seems a bit wrong just for lack of sleep (I am normally a bad sleeper but can take the odd Nytol to break the cycle). Maybe some good old exercise needed. I had horrible nightmares that I has a MS and beloved pet died same day, then I think all my teeth fell out :( Don't our minds do strange things.

I am ringing for my can appt Monday- will be good to have a date booked :)

It's all about the rugy here today, 'sigh'

CottonSock · 25/02/2012 08:50

MC not MS in my nightmare!

pinpan · 25/02/2012 09:22

Hi everyone, just been catching up on all the news after being away for a few days. Got my first 'proper' midwife sesh on March 9th (I've met her already though, she was nice) and 12 week scan booked for March 13th. Now just hoping that the sickness will have gone by then! I had almost 3 days of feeling human this week, but my hopes were dashed by the wee monster not seeming to like me eating anything at all today. :( It's almost a relief to find that many of you are feeling rotten too. (Don't take that the wrong way - sympathy in buckets all round, of course - it's just nice not to be alone in my suffering!) Roll on the second trimester and let's raise a glass of fizzy apple juice to hoping for a resurgence of energy...

damnitdamnit · 25/02/2012 13:26

Thanks MissRedIndie

Well I managed to get through family party drinking beck's non alcoholic bottles put in a glass. No one noticed a thing hopefully Grin.

Hope everyone having a good weekend, I have just managed to get both dd's to sleep, think I will tidy the playroom put my feet up Wink.

GizzyBoo · 25/02/2012 16:20

Well done on the covert non drinking damnit

Bubble today hubby has mostly driven me bonkers lol...he's by no means perfect but is trying!

Hi to every one else too Smile

I have managed to drag myself out for a wee walk on the beach this afternoon. It was cold, windy and the last thing I felt like doing but it has done me the world of good....actually knackered now though Blush
Came home and ate chocolate cake to replace lost energy Grin

LoopyLa · 25/02/2012 17:44

Thanks for the welcome everyone!

I'm an insomniac at the best of the times so was interested to hear of your doctors suggestion CottonSock . I don't usually get drowsy on antihistamines so when I check in with my doctor next week, I'll see if they suggest anything. Usually I can function on a few hours sleep if it's been disturbed but this week, I've been a zombie... I guess being "duffus maximus" makes a difference in so many ways!

I'm 5+1 and self-referred myself to the local maternity ward this week. I guess that's not much else I can do at this stage - except eat & rest! Grin

I've actually been gardening today being that it's so glorious but it has wiped me out somewhat! Time for a non-alcoholic Wine I think!!

Beeblebear · 25/02/2012 18:52

Peeks in and waves!

Just spent all morning reading from the begin, ningwhat a lovely bunch of ladies.

I-m also over on.the other oct tread, hope you all don-t mind if I join here too ( don-t worry no talk of siamese twins over here)

I.m 29 ( for 1 more day) 6+1 o 5'6", and this will be dc#1

Psammead · 25/02/2012 19:30

Welcome! And happy birthday for tomorrow!

CottonSock · 25/02/2012 20:30

Hello new people. LoopyLa would be interested to know what your Doc says about Insomnia. My DH tells me if I stopped falling asleep on the sofa in the evening, I might sleep more at night! Exercise and less cake tomorrow..

HettyTurner · 25/02/2012 20:56

Good Evening All,

Just so tired over here. Had a busy day today (wasn't it gorgeous), put up our new frame tent with no instructions, visited SIL at new house, tidied the garden (well a bit of picking up the dead plants from last summer Blush) and then ate a massive plate of fich and chips Grin. Now lying on the sofa with a glass of (imaginary gin) and tonic.

I concurr with crazy vivid pregnancy dreams and being awake for hours with no reason in the middle of the night, yet falling asleep on the sofa all day. It's bloody annoying all good preparation for 8 months time.

Hetty x

HettyTurner · 25/02/2012 20:57

Oh yes and Happy Birthday Beeblebear

babybrain3 · 26/02/2012 07:57

Jealous of your tent erecting hetty I love camping and can't wait for the summer to come so we can go away in our tent!!! Well done for putting it up without instructions too! Grin

My nausea seems to have lessened somewhat thank god!! Still got other symptoms so it's not causing me too much concern atm... Smile

Happy birthday beeble for yesterday-hope you managed to do something fun for your 30th?? Baby is due 2 days before my 30th sp I suspect I shall not be doing much on my birthday!!!!Wink

HettyTurner · 26/02/2012 09:47

Thanks babybrain we love camping too. Putting the tent up was the simple bit, packing back into the bag it came in was another matter!

Also baby is due 1 week before my 30th too. We were planning to have a little party, but I think it might become a meal out instead!

Bubblebell1 · 26/02/2012 13:48

Hey all Grin
Happy birthday beeble Grin I'm 30 next month. Feeling really old at the mo. Hope you have a lovely day.

I'm too having crazy dreams. Some too strange to write about here i dont want you all to think im a complete nutter but in 1 I was a pirate! Hmm

Just watched ds1 play rugby. So proud of him. His team won the cup Grin
Now cooking a roast for m and fil

Enjoy the last few hours of the weekend girls x

Heartbeep · 26/02/2012 13:51

I should probably start a different thread about this in pregnancy, but does anyone know about hair dye in pregnancy, is it safe?

I've been on the other thread of late, but some recents posts are just too much, so if you don't mind, I'm here!

Hope everyone is well.

Bubblebell1 · 26/02/2012 14:07

Hi heartbeep. I'm a hairdresser. And I'm sure that the risks are small. There is a higher chance that the hair will react differently due to the different hormones but I think aslong as your in a well ventilated room it's ok.
Maybe for your own piece of mind wait until 12 weeks and then do your hair. Hth.

If it helps. This is my 3rd pregnancy and I dyed my hair both times before and I will dye it at end of march too. Grin

Pixiepops · 26/02/2012 14:14

There's a link to a recent thread about hair dye here too, Heartbeep

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/1412939-Hair-colouring

I'm 8 weeks today! Grin

Heartbeep · 26/02/2012 14:18

Thanks to you both. I did dye my hair in my first pregnancy but due to baby brain, can't remember when. I think I will try to wait until after 12 weeks.

I was 8 weeks yesterday Grin I'll be the one looking like a badger by the end of March!

GizzyBoo · 26/02/2012 14:41

Afternoon Ladies....

Tis chaos in my house today....DD rang from her friends at 4:30 this morning wanting to come home as she felt ill...she has been sick about 25 times since and looks dreadful. Hubby feels like he is getting it so is obviously lying on sofa moaning at regular intervals! And I just feel crap from the MS.
Washing machine is on overdrive and we are all still in jammies.

I am dreading every one else getting it....but we will won't we?? Sad

babybrain3 · 26/02/2012 14:51

Oh no gizzy Sad hope everyone gets better soon... Sad

CottonSock · 26/02/2012 15:36

oh no, dreaded sickness. sounds awful.

It's beautiful here today, just been on a bike ride. DH unfit and could not keep up so said he was going to get 'in training', I said if he waits a month I will be fat and slow anyway. It really was not very long, but very beautiful, fields of daffodils, horses and lots of people smiling in the sunshine :)

Yesterday was great too, I got asked to be a bridesmaid in May 2012. First time for me (and I will be 34!).

I remember my 30th, well most of it Blush, it was a party to remember lol.

I am really looking forward to my trip to Cornwall in 3 weeks, and have been planning two weeks camping in the summer. I will be 25 weeks ish and plan on taking all the creature comforts. What do you ladies think. Am I crazy?

GizzyBoo · 26/02/2012 15:57

Thanks BB Smile

Cotton we love camping and I think its a great idea....go for it!

The weather here is rotten, rain, fog and gales. Went out for a walk yesterday but there is no way I am venturing out there today!
