aBundanceOfTime · 13/03/2012 17:54

TroubleAndFyfe? Grin

Carlitawantsababy · 13/03/2012 18:11

I like troubleandfyfe! It's good! Then my nn would be trouble? Grin I like it!
2 weeks Thursday davina, it is really early days I know but I need to know the cause so I can get it fixed or man up and buy a shit load of painkillers Grin

TroubleAndFyfe · 13/03/2012 18:15
Grin
elliebug · 13/03/2012 18:21

Hello trouble hope you don't mind me borrowing your nn for a while, I've just managed to get myself admitted to hosp with a combination of high bp, nausea, headache and pre existing medical probsSad
I am enjoying reading all your posts, hope the breast feeding gets sorted and baby davina puts in an appearance soon!! Will post more later when I have phone charger!!Smile

Davinaaddict · 13/03/2012 18:31

Oops, sorry! Blush I'm obviously slightly delirious on this day of doing bugger all Grin Love the new name! Think we need a twirl though Grin

Oh no - poor you, ellie Hope you feel better soon, and being in hospital doesn't drive you too batty Sad

babybrain3 · 13/03/2012 19:01

Loving the name trouble!!! hehe so had my booking appt today.... Filled in all the forms etc, so now when she sends them to the hospital we should hear about a scan hopefully before too long... Did you lot have the nuchal fold test thing?? Cant remember whether I had it before or not. Confused

However now that I've had my first appt I feel a desperate need to buy something... Eeek. Midwife seemed nice too which helps I suppose...

ghosteditor · 13/03/2012 19:04

ellie take care, the high BP can be scary stuff Sad. Hope all's well and you get to the bottom of it soon.

trouble love the new nn!

I went back to work today to consult on an upcoming conference - was quite fun but I missed DD terribly. It really made me think about going back to work next year. I officially declared my interest in working part time Smile. Unfortunately DD refused bottles despite her hunger, so it was a stressful morning for DH until I came home to feed her. Bfeeding suddenly seems a bit more daunting if she won't take expressed milk. Any suggestions?

OP posts:
TroubleAndFyfe · 13/03/2012 20:23

ellie hope all is okay, keep us posted!
Yes, I had the nuchal fold test babybrain, I just said yes to every test.
ghost you could try cup feeding? I did it with the twins for their top ups early on, you can get special cups (really expensive) or just use something like a medicine cup, sit her up and tip a tiny bit at a time into her mouth. May be worth a try anyway. Smile

Kayzr · 13/03/2012 21:17

Ellie I hope you're ok!! Thinking of you

Trouble love the new name!!!! GrinGrin

Babybrain nope I didn't have it. We decided against it.

Davina where is that baby? Grin

ghosteditor · 13/03/2012 21:41

I might try the cup thing trouble as I can't imagine not being able to leave her for more than an hour or two for the next four months - I need to get out and do some exercise for my own sanity Smile

OP posts:
Davinaaddict · 14/03/2012 08:52

We didn't have the test either time, babybrain, just because it's not a guaranteed result without a lot of testing done, so we didn't want the extra worry. It wouldn't have made any difference to us either. Glad you have a nice MW and FX your scam date comes through quickly Smile

Trouble's cup suggestion is a good one ghost. It might be that she's just not ready to take bottles yet though. I wouldn't give up completely - maybe try her every week or so?

Hope you're feeling better today ellie

I think I'm going to need some help - yesterday was great. I did nothing all day except slob around mning etc. (Although I did put DS to bed when he got home). So I went to bed with the intention of having a good nights sleep and getting up today to jump into Mission Eviction. But, I had a really bad dream about my CS on Monday, but instead of it spurring me on to throw myself into Mission Eviction even more (as you'd expect!), I'm now just having a bit of a wobble Sad It is nuts because it's not my first CS and it should be much less stressful than last time, with it being EL rather than EM. And I got through that one. Now though, all I want to do us cancel it and go into hiding Sad Bloody hormones! I've got my pre-op meet tomorrow so I'm not intending on cancelling it just yet. I think I just need to get my head round it. I'm also not exactly helping myself by reading the positive CS threads on Pregnancy/Childbirth as they just horrify my with their traumatic natural birth stories Confused Somebody please pass me a grip before I turn into a complete fruitloop?

aBundanceOfTime · 14/03/2012 09:54

Woohoo Trouble! if only I could think of a good nn for myself... Grin

So sorry to hear that Ellie, hope you get better soon Sad

Ghost I was going to suggest a cup too, or a syringe (the type you get with babies medicines)

Baby we didn't do the nuchal fold test either, for the exact same reasons as Davina.

although, I'm not sure you need one, I think it's completely understandable to feel the way you do. Wish I had some experience of it to be of any help to you! Hopefully you can get some reassurance in your appointment tomorrow. In the meantime, get bouncing! Grin

aBundanceOfTime · 14/03/2012 11:44

Ooh more good news! DS has got a place in pre-school! Woohoo! Grin

TroubleAndFyfe · 14/03/2012 14:58

Great news bun!Grin
Hope you're feeling a bit better davina! Sad
NCT woman was great, DS has a tricky chin and tongue shape which mean he finds it a bit harder to latch, will get easier as he grows, for now though she has helped me with a position where I can feed him pain free which I have been able to successfully repeat on the same boob, not yet managed on the other side but I'm sure we'll get there, am so happy Grin

aBundanceOfTime · 14/03/2012 15:30

Great news Trouble!! Grin Must be such a relief.

Just realised, I forgot to answer you yesterday Davina - our plans for the wedding are to keep it simple, small, casual and cheap! Grin DP and I hate being centre of attention so we're keeping numbers down to a minimum, just closest friends and immediate family (I've got a huge extended family so it's just parents, sibling and grandparents), 20-30 people probably. And, because we're skint we're probably just going to go to just go for a meal in a restaurant and split the bill afterwards! It's so much more 'us' though, we just don't have the capacity to care about chair coverings and matching napkins Grin
MIL(to be) is already being a nightmare though, saying who we have to invite, that her youngest daughter(7) will be a bridesmaid etc Hmm I laughed when DP told me and made it clear she can get married again herself if she wants to organise a wedding! Cheeky moo.

Davinaaddict · 14/03/2012 15:40

AngryAngryAngry I just wrote a post that for once I didn't copy & MN decides its the one time it doesn't work! Not having a good day, clearly Sad

Thanks for the support ladies - glad you both have good news too Grin

So I've had a pretty crap day today, feeling knackered, dizzy & emotional. I've also had quite a few random & intermittent painful BH's so I'm hoping all this together means that things are starting to move Smile But I'm also trying not to get too excited about it in case I'm back to being deluded again Grin I'm going to potter about and do a bit of housework for an hour or so, to see if anything happens, then go for a nice bath. I hope so, as the messages are starting to come through FB already Angry 'Getting impatient now...come on baby!' from one sister and 'Can baby just come out and say hi now :-P hehe' from the other SadAngry Think I might need to avoid fb for a few days.....

aBundanceOfTime · 14/03/2012 15:55

Definitely avoid fb! I had to with DS - I went 11days overdue, people were driving me potty! Hope you have a lovely afternoon/evening, thinking of you Smile

TroubleAndFyfe · 14/03/2012 16:02

Ha, yep, I'm glad I avoided the FB hassle!
*bun your wedding sounds lovely! Grin
Just had our weekly shop delivered and DH put away my 70% green and blacks (which midwives here say you must eat go good milk production)... men! Hmm

Kayzr · 14/03/2012 16:18

Bun your wedding sounds just like mine. Grin

Trouble I am glad the NCT woman helped you.

I think I am getting ill againSad my nose is completely blocked up again and my head hurts.

MammaInTheMaking · 14/03/2012 16:47

Hi ladies!! Been reading the thread as always but not too much to say.

However i'm super happy that the breastfeeding lady helped you with a good position trouble. Must be a huge relief. I think i'm taking it for granted that i'll just get on with BF without any issues... I hope I do, but i guess I need to think of all the variables.

Sending you some love Davina. I hope you have some nice dreams tonight which bring on some lovely pain-free labour :o It does sound like you're body is at least making some moves in the right direction. :)

Well done to your DS for getting into playschool Bun. I bet you're super chuffed with that! When does he start? It is one that DD can go to too once she's at that age?

Baby Blubes had me panicing on Monday because it was moving constantly all day and so forcefully. Was making me jump up every time it kicked and rolled about and was so uncomfortable. Sometimes it was just pushing (rather than kicking) on my belly so it went out in a point and i was trying to push it back in. But today and yesterday it's been a total delight. Loads of lovely gentle moves plus i think i'm feeling specific body parts. I'm quite certain a foot has been pressing on my bellybutton all day. So me and Blubes are friends again now. I do love being pregnant but i don't think i'm "in-love" with being pregnant...i hope that's not a bad thing to say.

TroubleAndFyfe · 14/03/2012 17:45

Poor you kayzr!Sad
Yes, that's what I thought mamma, did loads of reading, confident and positive but you can't plan for physiological problems as the woman said! Hopefully it'll be smooth going for you! Smile

elliebug · 14/03/2012 19:56

kayzr hope you feel better soon! trouble glad you got the bf sorted mamma I have had a foot in the bladder recently, not nice! davina hope baby comes soon!!! I don't know how I'd cope if I went overdue!!
Quick update, they are keeping me in to monitor for pre eclampsia Sad they've said I will prov end up delivering a bit early and as a was already only going to 38 weeks I'm hoping I make it to 36!! Have started mat leave today which makes me feel a bit of a failure as I didn't even make 31 weeks but hay ho!! April is just as nicer month as may right ( but have no crib/pram/car seat, ordered but not due till begin may!!) am sending labour vibes to you davina in the hope peanut stays put and your little one says hello Smile

foolserrand · 14/03/2012 21:02

Davina.... what to say? Here's some Thanks, not that they will help in any way, shape or form. I do feel for you though. Fingers crossed this waiting is in place of a long, painful labour and you'll sneeze on Friday then poof! baby appears.

Trouble, Fyfe sounds amazingly adorable not that I can see because you just dont like me enough and the new name is great! Glad to hear the nct lady was able to help you with the breastfeeding. Did the savoy leaves soothe after at least? I had some serious discomfort in the early days with ds and they did lessen the post feed hurts some. How's the house going?

Bun that's super about your ds and amazing that you think Lilly may be teething already. There's something else... kidding! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!! Sounds like it will be a great wedding. Good on you for putting mil-to be in her place early. Mine is a frigging horror, I would enjoy nothing more than to slap her about with a wriggling, wet kipper. The stories I could tell ya, my good god!

Kayzr, please don't be ill again! Your immune system has really taken a beating during this pregnancy, hasn't it?!

Mamma very happy to hear Blubes is behaving again. Although, getting ready for the 2028 Olympics (or would it be the 2032?) already is a bit over enthusiastic!

Baby big woo hoo for getting to 11 weeks tomorrow! Hope you get your scan through soon. Very excited on your behalf!

Trope I'm so sorry for all you and your family are facing at the moment. I can't begin to imagine how difficult it must be for you all.

Alright, I know I have forgotten lots but fingers crossed no actual people??

Now for a quick catch up. Twattish Mothercare lost my order for nursery furniture and now I can't afford to repeat it. The house is about 65% decorated now and 85% organised. Still dusty as a nun's hoo ha but I expected that. We are slowly getting on top of things. Ds is over the moon being back home in his bed, but still hasn't quite recovered from the toilet set back. Mum is back up north looking after my gran who is immobile for another 3 weeks minimum. Daft old bat, discharging herself. Um.... think that's all for now. Got to go to dh's office and pick up his wallet now. The dip shit left it on his desk. Grrr. Oh, we hit 34 weeks tomorrow (squeeeee!) and I've nearly shifted my cold cough thing (hurrah! Twas very embarrassing as it gave me mild stress incontinence (sp?) Gah!)

foolserrand · 14/03/2012 21:06

SHIIIIT! ellie! How the buggery could I forget you??? Glad they are monitoring you, although sucks that it might be pre-eclampsia. April is a great month for babies, I'm due 26th! :o
