I've got a beautiful dress from frugi thats for bf, a wrap dress from Tesco, a couple of vest tops i can wear under everything so can pull tops up and vests down hopefully to maintain modesty and a hoody in a size bigger than pre preg (although currently quite tight on boob area so may need to go back) I've got a couple of pairs of jeans from after dds birth until I lose the pg weight and go on a shopping spree! I think that will be ok to begin with?
Didn't have to worry about any of this last time.

ParsleyLion1 · 10/01/2012 16:28

Welcome nicki Grin

I've got a couple of wrap top things from M&P but they're quite maternity ish. I was recommended this brand but they look quite pricey though the sizing looks ok.

mia ELCS is scheduled for wed 18th (DH's 40th Birthday-he's always complained about how crappy his birthday is) It's all booked-gotta get bloods done on mon or tue, had my mrsa swab all ok, have antacid to take night before and on the morning, have surgical stockings, instructions to do nil by mouth from 10pm night before. Just got to tun up at 8am all fit and ready to go-the childcare thing will be easier as mum can come over the night before. If theres no emegencies getting in the way of me then I could have my baby by 9-10am. > thats scary. Hopefully it will be a 2 day stay at most.

oiesha have you tried bon prix for bigger sizes in feeding tops-some of thier maternity tops are button down. Also matalan do a good generous size 20 in feeding and maternity-I wear matalan size 20 and i'm a 24 in some shops.

fishandlilacs · 10/01/2012 17:18

I'm a bit Hmm at myself right now. I just had a reminder from google calendar that it's jago's due date tomorrow. hahahha

In my defence I did put it on the calendar when i was just a few weeks pregnant.

Like I was ever going to forget Grin

Karmanna · 10/01/2012 17:28

Dee, sorry about overdueness! Any signs yet? My duedate is Sunday but doubt he'll make an appearanc by then. Apart from BH's no real symptoms...

emmyjj · 10/01/2012 17:55

Hi All,

Yet go cakes and misree. cakes perhaps your sausage/waffle/pea supper combo was labour inducing!

ghost sorry to hear you are have a low spirits day, I've had family putting in orders for delivery date, as well as mum helpfully saying "I really thought you'd have had it by now!". Delivery date orders have slackened off now I'm 9 days over though! I actually think it can be worse for friends and family waiting for news than it is me - at least I know that zilch is happening at any given time, where as they are always on the "what if" unless they hear from me!

Still have a rotten cold, which I'm hoping will be gone by tomorrow. Was not in my birth plan to be labouring awash with snot and coughing away! Barely slept a wink last night between wee breaks, coughing, nose blowing and the usual preggo insomnia, got up for what seemed like my hundredth wee of the night at about six am and proceed to sob none stop for an hour on poor DP, feeling sorry for myself. Can cope with the overdue-ness but in combo with stinky cold and unfavourable cervix following the sweep it all got a bit much!

Anyway, managed a couple of naps and a 3 mile walk today, so feeling much better. So don't want to be induced, am hoping they will let me go to Monday. Another sweep booked for tomorrow.

karmmana all Scandinavian countries seem to have so got things sorted when it comes to child are and education. So much more supportive of a family/child focused way of living than over here!

ghosteditor · 10/01/2012 18:19

Emmy how did you manage a 3 mile walk? I'm impressed! Though to be fair it seems to be annoying combos of clothes and shoes that don't stay on right which annoy me most! You have my genuine sympathy for all the overdue coldy unpleasantness and I think you deserve a good sob (I've been told that emotive outbursts are good for labour too!)

DH is home now and we might go swimming in a bit. Hopefully we'll have a bit of a tidy round too as DH has left piles of stuff everywhere - it's just surface clutter but is annoying me!

Have made good plans with friends for the week though so hopefully that'll cheer me up a bit.

Karmanna · 10/01/2012 18:43

Emmy, yes, it all seems a lot better over there. I think they make childcare cheap to encourage people to go back to work. Poor you with your cold - hope it goes before the labour sets in!! I'm impressed with your long walk - I struggle to walk to the kitchen to get a cup of RLT, never mind going for actual walks! Blush

I'd really like to be able to go for a swim or aquanatal class but it's too painful. Mw said she could refer me to physio but that it'd take 6 weeks so hardly seems worht it! I feel like a prisoner at home and keep counting the minutes to DH comes back from work. :(

DawnOfTheDee · 10/01/2012 18:53

Emmy hope your cold gets better soon...as if you don't have enough to deal with!

Karmanna thanks for the sympathy! Lots of BH but not much else to report...I always had a feeling I'd go over but I'm just sooooo ready to meet my LO now! I've got a sweep booked for tomorrow though so fingers crossed that might kick something off.

Welcome niki (waves)

shonnomanom · 10/01/2012 19:04

9days over - check
Horrible cold - check
3 mile walk - ha more like half a mile

Hugs to all feeling low
Iv made some flapjacks if anyone wants a bit.

I really need to stretch out this sore back but bump is preventing anything helpful.

I don't have a cat but dd has been very clingy since nursery. Not sure why, hopefully she is sensing something. Fx

shonnomanom · 10/01/2012 19:05

Sorry, welcome niki

HeyNiki · 10/01/2012 19:18

Hello to all you kind ladies! [waves]

Anybody else suffering with PIH? Could do with an indulgent moan about my tablets, I feel like a walking corpse!

ParsleyLion1 · 10/01/2012 19:22

What is PIH niki?

ghosteditor · 10/01/2012 19:23

Sho, yy to the flapjack, am secretly hoping DH will read my mind and make some, but it's probably asking a bit much. Am now getting hysterical because I'm having regular BHs at about 9 mins apart, and some minor crampy pain, but I've had this before and it wasn't labour. The not knowing is DOING MY NUT and making me CRAZY BEATCH FACE.

HeyNiki · 10/01/2012 19:27

Pregnancy induced hypertension. Can't find any evidence that it's a precursor to Pre-eclampsia and my bp will be totally fine 6 out of the 7 days of the week, and then the one day, it shoots up to something ridiculous. My personal best is 167/116. The consultant has put me on 200mg of Labetalol a day, but on the days where my bp is normal, I have a serious case of can't be arsed and feel a bit 'lights are on but noone's home.' It's got so bad that I don't dare drive now because I feel it's affecting my concentration span. Sorry for moaning!

shonnomanom · 10/01/2012 19:27

Oh fx the bh are actually cx ghost how great would it be for you and cakes to have your babies at the same time!

MissRee · 10/01/2012 19:29

Hey ladies, hope you're all doing well Grin

Still labouring here... varying between 6 and 15 minutes but still a good 40 seconds long.

A bit in limbo really and not loving it. Dunno what to do Sad

HeyNiki · 10/01/2012 19:29

When I say 'Can't find any evidence that it's a precursor to Pre-eclampsia' I actually mean that in my case the midwives and my obstetrician can't. No protein in urine, no sparkles or swelling.

ghosteditor · 10/01/2012 19:35

Thanks Sho, you're lovely, but it won't be cx, it'll be HBs, and I will be pregnant forever until I am giant and planet sized [pathetic whinging face]. Poor DH hasn't the faintest idea how to help as he's anxious too, but I just can't deal with his angst at the moment. He's trying his hardest but I am being horrid Sad.

Niki, I've had high blood pressure but nothing like your PIH - the only crazy high readings I've had were with an automated machine and the eventual reading with a cuff was a bit lower. The continual testing is a pain though, isn't it? Fx all stays well for you.

PS sorry for being so pathetic when some of you are suffering more or overdue etc - I'm aware what a needy, miserable so and so I'm being; I just can't make it stop! Blush

Oeisha · 10/01/2012 19:44

I'm a probable PIH...no signs of PE, other than the raised BP and headaches with flashign lights, but it's' bloody irritating. We did talk about there may be a need for an eipdural to help control BP if it rockets during labour (and Abi's getting a bit concerning) but apparently water births are good for PIH too...just depends. My highest has been 135/92 and lowest 90/60 (so back down to pre-pg), usually 110-120/80 at the mo. They're just monitoring me and not labelling it at the moment. Seeing MW tomorrow for a check.

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 10/01/2012 19:51

Aww ghost - I feel for you. Am desperate for some good strong regular cx to hang my hat on, but I hope yours turn into something - the hardest thing is trying to relax so you don't get in your own way with the hormones and stuff.

I had another nap. I feel woozy and weird.

tigana · 10/01/2012 19:52

fish Grin a reminder for your due date Grin bless your early pregnancy self!!!

I am maybe going into mat unit later...because I think maybe my waters have been trickling today...and because of gbs, I'd rather be sure than 'wait and see'. But I have strong suspicion I'll be back home tonight feeling Blush at mistaking normal pregnancy discharge for possible amniotic fluid. I'm fairly certain it's not pee, coming from the wrong place and doesn't smell of pee!
Phoned the unit and they said give it 2 more hours with the pad then call back, if it's wet you'll have to come in. Now my only question is " define ' wet ' ".... Hmm

tigana · 10/01/2012 19:55

MissRee ugh, hang on in there. You're doing so well to still be at home and managing this. Trying to wrack brain for decent advice, but with ds I buggered off to hosp pretty early (he was posterior, I had bad back labour with vomiting and did not 'cope' well).

HeyNiki · 10/01/2012 19:58

On the days where my bp is high, it is completely asymptomatic. I have my bp checked twice a week at ANDU and I go on the monitor, DD falls asleep and then i'm ages meeting the criteria! Unfortunately the local authority closed our midwife led unit down about 3 years ago so no access to a pool in hospital, and the labour suite doesn't have en suite baths, just showers. Water for relaxation/pain relief may be out of the question, have included it on my birth plan just in case :)

HeyNiki · 10/01/2012 20:03

Tigana I have heard (although I don't know how true it is...) that amniotic fluid smells a bit like ammonia, where as discharge I presume would be odourless.
