Hope you don't mind the slight tweaking of the thread title :) I was feeling creative! Not that it matters, at this rate it won't last more than a week...!

sex, swallowing semen (yum), walking, going up and down stairs, any food likely to give you the runs inc. hot curry, clary sage, hot bath, would squatting work?

I'm prepared to try almost anything... except sex atm, as DH has spent the day in his PJs and is not that fragrant...

dh is not in the mood at all :( to be fair we haven't been near each other for months and i don't feel sexy enough to put in the effort. rubbish.

Oeisha · 26/12/2011 20:38

Try bouncing/wriggling 'em out on a birthing ball???

Abi keeps wriggling her ?head a lot and setting off period pains... Hmm

Gizzard's trying to snooze on my lap (he's being a needy kitten), head on Abi, wondering why his pillow keeps moving. Confused

I've just taken some pics of the nearly finished nursery...now can't find the friggin lead to plug phone into PC. Biscuit

Stupid question alert. Can you dye muslins and bum wipes and stillhave then be ok fir baby's skin? Thinking of dying the "travel" set something pale so it's obvious when I've washed something out the changing bag...

abeautifulbutterfly · 26/12/2011 21:17

Hi ladies, glad to hear most of you seem to have had a nice relaxing Christmas (redhead seems to have been the unfortunate exception). We have too, lots of eating, games, couple of films, couple of glasses of red...

And especial congratulations to you SHO! Have you any plans for when the wedding is going to be?

Saw dr on 23rd, who has begun his standard (for me) litany of the last weeks of pregnancy: No, you're nowhere near, baby is still high, nothing's dropped, everything's closed and long and come back in 10 days... And so I predict we will go on for another 4 weeks (even though DD is in less than 3 now).

But I'm still feeling good, if a bit knackered (sleep beginning to suffer), but DH is being a star and buying me all my favourite bits and pieces, doing lots of cleaning, cooking etc. Just got to get rid of the work mountain so I can relax when baby arrives, but I don't know how I'll manage it with the DDs at home this week and a social calendar that makes me faint to even think about it...

mulledfishandfrostedlilacs · 27/12/2011 00:02

oiesha yes I dyed all my mussies with dd-I got sick of them getting mixed up with others at NCT gatherings. I had some lilac ones, some lemon ones, some pistachio green and some tie dye ones. They never affected DD skin.

butterfly how long have you got left then? i'm beginning to think this one will stay til c sec on 18th Jan. I make a comfy womb :)

Wormshuffler · 27/12/2011 07:07

Hello Girls
Hope you are all well, 7am must be a new record for the latest post in the morning, so I am taking that to mean we all had a good night?
Hope you are all enjoying christmas. Next year will be so different for all you first timers. We are having a fab time. DD12 has actually spent the last 3 days downstairs with the family . She is going through that being squirelled away in her room on webcam with her friends phase and it's lovely to have her back. It was the where's wally 1000 peice jigsaw that did it!!
DS has already completed his technics lego kit that I hoped would keep him amused for weeks!

Baby was lovely and active yesterday. Very reassuring. I am still really worried about the whole placenta thing. Have another scan on thurdsay which is only 2 more sleeps and on this one they will be able to check the growth. The movements last night in bed were unbelievable. So strong! My DC's were never as strong as this. DH couldnt believe it, it really was like a scene from alien!! I was having very hefty braxton hicks last night too.

Right onto bringing on labour tips.
I swear by nipple twiddleing. It definately worked for me with DS, I started it when I went to bed 5 days over with him (in hindsight this was stupid, why not wait until the morning?!) and the contractions started within 5 minutes! and boy were they strong ones! Still ended up in an EMCS but that was down to my weird pelvis.
Swallowing seamen? seriously?? that has to have been made up by a man!!

ParsleyandChestnutStuffingLion · 27/12/2011 07:23

Morning ladies :)

Think I might have actually had 8 hours sleep last night. I've woken with a slightly sore throat though - I'm hoping that I haven't got the hideously stinky cold that OH seems to have come down with yesterday.

We're going to the football today so we'll see how bubs copes with that Xmas Grin

SantaSHO · 27/12/2011 08:40

Morning ladies!
butterfly no plans discussed as yet, waiting til after baby arrives to look at finance etc. If I have my way it will happen before my brother emigrates to Oz in October.

Baby out tips: I found blackmail worked with dd! Once my induction date was booked I started rubbing my belly telling dd that I wanted her home by said induction date or Santa wasn't coming that year. It worked, we brought her home the day before.

I keep waking with a stinking cold, by midday I'm ok again but its a horrible feeling.

mulledfishandfrostedlilacs · 27/12/2011 09:27

Morning-blissful nights sleep. DD away at mums so the house is lovely and quiet this morning. I woke up at 5 for a wee and then around 8.30. Feel good! Jago woke with me and did his usual squirm and kicking session so nothing like the terrifying wake up call I had yesterday morning. Such a relief. A few years ago a dear friend lost a baby at 37 weeks. Having seen her go through that I get very twitchy around this time. I think it was the wine, I think i'll stay off it now. I know they say 1-2 units do no harm and I have drunk about once a month throughout the pregnancy but i can't handle another scare like that again and he's getting so big now, he's a baby now not just a feotus.

I am going to try giving the house a good clean today and find homes for all the christmas toys. Hopefully the activity will bring him on. Really just want him here now.

parlsey and sho I keep waking with congested sinuses and a sore dry throat too but it turns into nothing as the day passes. Some mild virus is obviously doing the rounds.

have a good day xx

mulledfishandfrostedlilacs · 27/12/2011 09:32

is supa around today? I have just seen her facebook-she maybe in labour? any developments?

:)

Oeisha · 27/12/2011 09:32

Morning all!

Slept okish lastnight. DH is getting "the flu"... Hmm. He isn't, he's a bit snotty so was snoring, but wouldn't take sudafed. I ended up in spare room with indigestion...but actually slept ok. Only now missyface is very quiet, this time for the last 3 days I'd had about 50 movements by now. She's only just in the 20s, but then I have slept ok. The occasional weak nerf. but nowt like she's been the last few days.
Eating hasn't worked (she usually reacts to that) and am now on hot tea. Will resort to kegles in a few. If none of that works... Confused. It will...it will.

Feel fine other than a bizzare dream about bleeding and passing clots...and crying on an MP who took me to hospital in her battle bus as she couldn't believe they didn't want to see me!

parsley I can't think of anything I'd rather be doing less than going to the football...but have fun!

Have to leave the house today. Dh wantes to go to B&Q (which I incidentally do too, for a lamp and an extension socket) and we need some food basics.

Have a good day ladies!

Oeisha · 27/12/2011 09:53

"Teagles" has worked. Might patent the manouver...

FrillyMilly · 27/12/2011 10:06

I am exhausted!! Off to the in laws for dinner so at least I dont have to do any cooking or washing up. Going to have a big tidy up tomorrow, tree coming down and toys being sorted out. Glad to hear everyone has had a nice Christmas and no christmas day babies!!

I keep having back spasms. They only last about a minute or so but are incredibly painful and I can't move. I didn't have these during my last pregnancy. I'm assuming it's because baby is leaning on a nerve.

BigHotMama · 27/12/2011 10:18

Morning ladies! Hope you all had a nice Xmas!

We had a party at ours last night and it's totally frazzled me so so ttired and have woke up with a bunged up nose and slightly sore throat too. Today I am doing nothing, really looking forward to chilling out now.

No way will I be swallowing semen yuk! I'll be eating lots of curry (any excuse) and maybe try nipple tweaking lol will feel really wierd as hate touching my nips. Anyway got 4 weeks left so want smurf to stay put for at least 2 wks so can enjoy my mat leave and be a lady of leisure before the sleepless nights start.

Started suffering with heartburn last few days and even swigging it during the night. I swear by my genie pillow though it really helps me sleep but at first I couldn't get used to it.

Haven't even started on the nursery yet got stuff but needs painting and border. Feel behind with everything still haven't got my hospital bag sorted yet. On the good side have found put 3 large bags of ds's newborn stuff which am washing so don't need to worry about that.

Trying to get dh to rethink our boys name as so many people have said they aren't too keen and I know I shouldn't have to please them but it does put you off when people dislike it. Dh is having none of it though.

Right off for another Brew and Biscuit

GhosteditorOfChristmasPast · 27/12/2011 10:28

Hey ladies! 10 hours of sleep for me, this has to be a record! But I must do some exercise today to wear myself out again for tonight. And just think how much I'll suffer when ppm arrives and I won't get any sleep - massive shock to the system!

Gosh, some busy babies today!!

My uncomfortable HBs have been going on for well over a week now, and wheat bags are in full force. This is going to be the most practiced uterus in the land! Smile

greenlady78 · 27/12/2011 10:33

Hi Ladies,

Hope you are all well! I have MIL at home and for that I haven't logged in as I need to keep entertaining Smile

I can't wait for the baby to be here now, my feet keep swelling, it is a nightmare to get up and sit down, he is getting bigger and I feel he is ready to hit the road Wink

I will also start from tomorrow (when visitors have left the house!) all that is possible to bring on the baby!!! But I never had a HB before, is that a bad sign?

Ah, I will then also manage to participate of this thread properly once again!!!!

Take care lovely ladies!!! xxxx

addictediam · 27/12/2011 10:46

Morning all, dh is demolishing the nusery as we speak! The fitted bed needs to come out and a new stair header needs to go in, then we need to strip the last bit of wallpaper off, plaster, put in skirting board, paint and re carpet. So not much to do at all! Dh is off till Monday really hope he can finish before then otherwise he's going to be doing it during paternity leave and I'm not sure I could cope with the mess and noise with a new baby and toddler in the house!

I'm also really excited after finding out alex from cbeebies has been invited to my brothers wedding in September! Sil is trying to organise a time all the children in the immediate family can meet him so they arent all shouting during the ceromony! I'm quite excited!

supadupaturkeystupor · 27/12/2011 10:54

Good morning ladies Xmas Grin. Thanks for the concern fish but i'm fiiiinnnnneeee.

I've been having HBs every evening for a few days and timed them. Was a bit surprised that they were 5mins apart and quite regular in length Shock They got stronger last night to the point where i mentioned it to DH, I was wanting a hot water bottle etc like period pains. Anyhow, posted on FB and was convinced that because baby was breech I at least should call the assessment center.

They said that I was to go in because of the breech, i don't think they would have worried otherwise.
So I was monitored for about 3/4hr (really weird seeing the numbers go up when a contraction happens!!!) Baby fine, having mild tightenings every 3 mins!! Some were flippin painful too!
Blood pressure slightly high.

So I had a scan, and guess what?
THE BABY HAS TURNED Xmas Grin I am so happy I can't tell you Xmas Grin! All that worry for nothing!

I had an internal (yeouchy!!) and my cervix has shortened (another sign that things are progressing apparently) So they have cancelled my scan on the 9th, they think I am in early labour and that I won't reach the 9th!!!!! My due date is the 20th!!!

So all a bit surreal in the house today! They don't think i was having HBs because of the pain, but i could carry on with these contractions for weeks Sad

Anyway, staying in bed this morning because I at least want to keep baby in until fri when i'm 37weeks. DH has been lovely and taken DS out for a bit.

It's really strange because i suddenly put on loads of weight and fluid, and even have puffy eyes and pouty lips as of yesterday, I said to DH I didn't think I would reach the 20th!

And after that epic, I shall now catch up with all of your news Grin

GhosteditorOfChristmasPast · 27/12/2011 11:12

YEY SUPA!! Yey for turned baby! What a great result! Keep resting up - if it's any consolation I have a v similar HB pattern plus period like aches and have done for a week or so, but baby is staying put (37+5 here). I'm also v puffy and my hands are so painful now. Don't have puffy face and lips though - my antenatal yoga teacher says that's a sure sign of imminent labour Wink

mummyzoe2012 · 27/12/2011 11:18

hiya all, hope you all had a good xmas. ours was ok.

ive been getting strong preiod like pains which come and go. not regular at the momant.

we have started bedroom activitys to try and encourage baby out only 25 more days till Ames due date. should realy be resting all the time but ive had enough now of being pregnant and just want ame here.

im lucky if im getting an hours sleep a night and im off my food big time. constantly on the loo and am shouting at everyone for no reason even the dog.

BigHotMama · 27/12/2011 11:55

green I haven't ever had a bh either this time or last feel a bit left out. Maybe w are having them but can't feel them?? I have extra padding so could block it perhaps? Te he!

supa how exciting!!! Grin

abeautifulbutterfly · 27/12/2011 11:57

Wow Supa that's great!

Fish, theoretically I have less than 3 wks - due date is 14th Jan - but my others were 9 and 8 days late so am expecting to go well over. DD1 cut it very fine - I was actually in hospital about to be induced (I think they were scared because she was so big - 9 lb 13 ultimately), in AN ward waiting for a drip stand to come free (yep, Polish health service Grin) when I went into labour naturally.

Also, whoever it was (Cakes? Fish?) said that someone from the outside could hear the heartbeat - thank you! DH had a listen in last night and he was really excited to hear it!

The DDs are being stars today. I have set them various chores to do, and they have made a "salad" for lunch (thrown whatever they could find in the fridge into a pan Grin). Last night they did their reading practice to each other instead of to me and then snuggled down in DD2's bed together and went to sleep - so sweet! Lots of warm fuzziness in the butterfly household at the moment!

Oeisha · 27/12/2011 12:55

supa YAY! Grin Well done on turning baby!

Just Abi to confirm now. She's blatantly head down, or she's got lots of legs...

I don't yet feel the need for ABi to be out. She's uncomfy, wriggly, sometimes painful, but she's ok in there for now. Just need to confirm what she's doing in there and then maybe I'll get the urge to get things going. 37wks tomorrow...

Re: HBs, either everything's just a lot tighter and I'm noticing them less, or they're less frequent. Still occasionally getting the low down mild crampings, but they always seem to coincide with Missyface doing some form of dramatic ?head turning.

Must try and get DH to listen to tummy and see if he can hear her heartbeat.

SantaSHO · 27/12/2011 14:07

green no BH here either. Never had last time either.
Great news on the baby turning supa! Hope Abi is head down as well Oiesha. This baby went bsm yesterday so I wouldnt be too surprised if they say baby has went breech again tomorrow when I go in for a sweep.

Oeisha · 27/12/2011 15:17

Humm, Abi's still not her usual self. Very subdued. She usually does very big wiggles (can see bottom rubbing accross tummy etc) and now I'm having to think about whether it's her or not. Just feel like I'm being hysterical, but it's close to the number I have in my head that says "automatically get it checked out".
By this time over last few days:
Today: 38
Yesterday: 52
25/6th: 43
24/5th: 86
23/4th: 63
22/3rd: 77
21/2nd: 49
20/21: 53
It isn't so much the quantity either, it's the lack of big movements for essentially a day where I've not done very much. I've not felt all that uncomfy either.

Think it's time to have a sob on DH and see what he thinks.
