Hope you don't mind the slight tweaking of the thread title :) I was feeling creative! Not that it matters, at this rate it won't last more than a week...!

Yes Ghost you don't accept paypal if they're collecting otherwise they can claim that they paid but never received the item.

FrillyMilly · 17/12/2011 20:21

We've accepted cash on collection for stuff sold on eBay quite a few times.

ParsleyandChestnutStuffingLion · 17/12/2011 20:54

Ps I also feel a bit uneasy but I know exactly why. I was a bit constipated and finally got a bit of relief this evening and sorry TMI alert - it was one if those that just disappears straight down the loo - that's happened a couple of times now and I can't stop thinking that it was bubs gone down. Blush I know it wasn't but I can't stop the thought Blush

Yummy - my MIL has foam jigsaw playmate thingies for when the grandkids are round and they're fab. Think she bought them dirt cheap at a bootfair but they've lasted through 3 kids so far (eldest is 6)!

Mulledbee · 17/12/2011 22:48

Right so I'll play some beyonce and see if that works. Grin Glad to hear I'm not the only one with a bump that won't move on command! Sounds like worrying at this stage is pretty normal then.

Greenlady - glad your pram arrived at last. :) we got our pram today too.

Butterfly - the elderflower spillage was quite funny, particularly my DH sticking to the floor. I'm on the fourth mopping though and it still sticks!

Wormshuffler · 18/12/2011 02:22

Hi ladies just checking if anyone else in my insomnia club. Dh is out on a night shift and I am laying here my mind whirring about what on earth ee would do if this baby has to be born on Christmas day.

We have no family here on that day so who on earth would look after our dc's? I have 2 best friends but I couldn't impose it on them , they have their parents around. Think we would have to take them in to hosp with us and drag them away from their presents on Christmas day .

MissRee · 18/12/2011 02:47

I'll Join the insomnia club tonight Sad spicy pizza and apple pie with custard earlier has left me with some mingingly chronic heartburn and now I'm out of gaviscon Sad milk only works for about half hour at a time!

Wormshuffler · 18/12/2011 03:14

Mmmm to spicy pizza boo to no gaviscon it really is magic stuff .

greenlady78 · 18/12/2011 04:36

What? MN deleted my post :( just to say hello to the wide awake ladies in here!

Mulled hope you enjoyed the pram! We love it, but much to learn :P

Good Morning ladies!!!

ParsleyandChestnutStuffingLion · 18/12/2011 07:53

Morning ladies. Smile think I actually managed 8 hours sleep last night albeit in about 3 separate stints due to loo breaks etc.

Just put a wash on of all the clothes and sheets etc we picked up yesterday. We also got a vibrating chair, Moses basket and bassinet and a few toys and playmats. Even sterilisers and nappy bins and car seat. I think the only thing we need to get now is a bath once JL come up with the goods on the push chair and crib. I feel very lucky. Grin

mulledfishandfrostedlilacs · 18/12/2011 08:25

morning,

mulled have you tried using white vinegar to mop up the floor.

SantaSHO · 18/12/2011 09:06

Morning ladies
Dd stayed in her own bed all night!! First time in weeks.
Still had my usual 3am wake up but managed to get back to sleep ok

Dd is going to a Christmas party today with my parents so im eventually putting up the tree. Christmas will come to this house.

Im determined we will be Christmas and baby ready before Wednesday

worm I think the girls will happily leave the presents under the tree if its in exchange for the baby

38weeks today - Wtf?! How did that happen?

ParsleyandChestnutStuffingLion · 18/12/2011 09:24

38 weeks Xmas Shock

supadupaturkeystupour · 18/12/2011 09:32

katy will be having our first two babies in 3 DAYS OMG!!!!!!!!!

GhosteditorOfChristmasPast · 18/12/2011 09:33

Eek 38 weeks!!!

I had a dreadful night too, but I always think I'll wake up more if I use MN. I woke up every hour and was frequently awake for up at an hour through the night. Was having uncomfortable HBs very frequently - in fact they're still going now. Looks like I might be one of those people who practices contractions a lot! No other signs of labour so am not worrying (at least not during daylight, there was lots of worrying last night!) plus am only 36+3.

Mum2be79 · 18/12/2011 09:50

Morning!

I really feel like I've got a hangover - I haven't. Stuck to soft drinks at DH's work's Christmas do last night! Really enjoyed myself especially as I saw it as our last night of 'freedom' before Peanut arrives. Peanut (nosey bugger) enjoyed the night out too - would not stop moving and wriggling.

I'm beginning to feel slightly uneasy now. Watched 'Dawn Gets a Baby' on Really Channel on Sky on Friday night. It was the most 'realisitic' programme about birth that I have watched and I was slightly freaked by it! Especially as some mums said that their bits were never the same again and it took on average 3-6 months to resume bedroom relationships again!!!

I'm getting a lot of period cramps (same time of day between 3 and 6am) and I had a TMI moment yesterday - diarrhoea! It was so sudden. My NHS book said this (and vomiting) can be signs of imminent labour. I think it's just my body 'warming up' because I can barely lift my legs to put underwear on, tights, trousers etc. It is a bugger to walk because my inner bits (pelvis) ache so much.

Today's tasks - Christmas tree is going up and write Christmas cards. I wasn't going to do Christmas decorations this year as I always take them down on New Years Day and Peanut's delivery date is then but I can't have Christmas with our folks without something Chritmasey being up in the house.

GhosteditorOfChristmasPast · 18/12/2011 09:59

Mum2be I know what you mean - putting shoes on etc has suddenly got much harder! Take it easy if you can today and just supervise the Christmas prep - it takes a lot out of you!

Also know what you mean re hangover feeling - I had this too after a night out, guess it's fatigue more than anything.

Grin very exciting about Katy's babies!!!!!!

greenlady78 · 18/12/2011 10:09

santa 38 weeks??? Shock

I feel that I need to take control again of my own body (if that makes sense) as before I was feeling so calm and collected about the big day...but now trying to sort out all of the daily stuff (clothes, pram, crib, etc...) I feel I lost it! Sad

Am determined to do the last bits of what is missing (haven't packed my hospital bag!!!!) and then just relax! Xmas Smile

mum2be yes, putting shoes on are becoming trickier!

MakesXmasCakesWhenStressed · 18/12/2011 10:25

parsley - did you see the bath I linked to a couple of threads while back? It was reasonably priced, nice solid construction, not very heavy and very very clever design so the baby can't slip down into the water - it is one of my favourite not-cute baby items (because of course the teeny tiny socks etc win the cute awards!)

OMG - for any of you having back ache, or any other aches and pains for that matter, I would highly recommend looking into light touch massage (as taught in hypno classes). Physio banned me from having 'normal' back massage, but I figured the light touch one wouldn't cause any problems and (scuse my language) but fucking hell - the relief! Instant pain dissipation, so much more comfortable and it lasted ages.

Basically it's fingertips stroking the skin so lightly you're just stirring the hairs up a bit. It stimulates nerve endings and causes endorphin production, which is 80x more powerful than morphine as a painkiller, so DH basically shot me full of natural morphine and all the pain went and I slept through from 11 - 6.30am!!! A full night's sleep - huzzah!

Seriously, try it. I am so looking forward to what it can do during labour if that was a preview of its effectiveness.
