Hope you don't mind the slight tweaking of the thread title :) I was feeling creative! Not that it matters, at this rate it won't last more than a week...!

That's outrageous greenlady I've bought a few maternity clothes from them but I certainly shan't be buying anything else if that's their attitude.

Mind you I am having issues with my John Lewis stuff. Not delivery just actually getting the stock in. At least though with them we formed a back up plan for if my stuff hasn't come in by beginning of Jan.

Busy day today. Some chores this morning- tick -done
Post office trip -tick- done
Driving up to London for family Xmas lunch. Then on the way back visiting 2 sets of people who are giving me baby stuff. So should be definitely more prepared by the end of the day Smile

GhosteditorOfChristmasPast · 17/12/2011 10:20

That's outrageous greenlady! I ordered jeans from them in the sale and they were ok, but have heard bad things about bigger items. It's as if you have nothing better to do than wait in!!

I just caved and rented a TENS machine Grin

Wormshuffler · 17/12/2011 10:31

Greenlady, cancel it and get it from kiddicare, bet it will still come quicker ! X

FrillyMilly · 17/12/2011 10:38

I've been really thirsty too. Been waking up with headaches because I'm not drinking enough. I think it's more to do with winter weather and heating though.

Just tidied the whole house and now im shattered. Got some washing that needs hanging on the airer but I haven't the energy. Watching 101 dalmations with DD instead. Still having crampy back ache. Think it will probably last until baby puts in an appearance.

greenlady78 · 17/12/2011 10:58

santasho I completely agree, I have fallen victim of their shitty customer service. As a first time parent I had no idea of their 'famous' customer care...lesson learned!!!!

worm I wanted to cancel it today, but as the item shows 'on delivery' (even though they can't contact the delivery company to confirm it) I can't do it today, so have to wait till Monday! And you are right, if I ordered today Kiddicare would probably deliver by Monday!

parsley word to the wise: London is wet and cold! Enjoy the lunch!

frilly wow, I want to tidy my house, soo Xmas Smile

Thanks ladies for listening to my rant!!! So frustrated! Sad

xxxx

greenlady78 · 17/12/2011 11:22

Gosh, reading M&P reviews on MN and annoyed at myself for ordering from them without reading anything before hand!!! One of the mums bought something and it was faulty, sent it back, never got a refund and was told to go to small claims court to get her money back Shock

Others waited for days (you have to stay in all day, they do not give a time slot) and after weeks still haven't received their goods! Oh gosh, I just hope I get my pram!!!!! And most people are waiting for more than 3 months to get refunds....Shock

greenlady78 · 17/12/2011 11:22

Sorry to hijack the thread, but just to make sure none of you use M&P!!!!

greenlady78 · 17/12/2011 15:51

Good news: pram delivered!!! Yayayayayaya! Now hoping it works Xmas Hmm

SantaSHO · 17/12/2011 16:02

Yeah! Grin
Did you ask the delivery man what the problem was?

Oeisha · 17/12/2011 16:12

'ello all.

green thank goodness it's arrived.

Humm, I'm sure I've missed stuff, but am a bit allover the place (and can't really work out why).

I just get the feeling something isn't right. Not sure with what either. Abi's being very squiggly, but she's not above her "normal" kick/wriggle count. I've no symptoms of anything in particular. Some mild period like pain that's coming and going, but buscopan's got rid of it. The occasional HB, but nothing coordinated. A slight increase in discharge but nothing unusual with it. I just feel very unsettled and can't rationalise it.

I was in a foreign bed lastnight (we wanted to see friends, but as it was snow on the ground here, and we decided to stay rather than risk icy roads), so maybe that's just it. Woke up at about 0500 with this nagging...and it's not stopped yet. Might wrap my final 2 pressies and see if that helps.

Anyone else feeling mental uneasy?

GiraffeAHolic · 17/12/2011 16:36

Yep I feel emotional and tired and just odd but I can't put my finger on how exactly. I don't like it one bit.

mummyzoe2012 · 17/12/2011 16:38

green lady i had no probs with m&p they said it would be delivered on dec 1st and it was!

Oeisha · 17/12/2011 16:51

giraffe frustrating as hell isnt' it. I have no reason to believe something's not right. It just isn't. Abi seems to have settled a bit now...

I think maybe it's because there's been lots of bouts of squiggles rather than bigger shiftings. I dunno.

Mulledbee · 17/12/2011 18:04

I had a tearful session earlier when I worried that everyone else's babies seem to respond to stimuli like light or tapping and tap back in response. My baby has also been chilled on the kicking front and never responds to anything external. I was worrying to my husband that something may be wrong. Actually though, they kick enough and they will have their own personality so I'm trying not to worry.

I spoke to the midwife as I'm not feeling big kicks now, just squirms. She saidtheres no room for anything else - they'll just be shrugging shoulders and sticking their bum out, which is pretty much the type of thing I feel.

Maybe we feel like this because it's getting so close to meeting them? I'm full term tomorrow!

supadupaturkeystupour · 17/12/2011 18:07

it's your hormones love. it get worse Grin. just wait until about day 3 after baby arrives...... baby blues kick in and cue lots and lots of tears for no apparent reason.

i'm sleepy, restless, grumpy, hungry (any more dwarves????) tearful, snappy...you name it......

seem to remember being the same in the run up to DS's birth. It is a very stressful, physically demanding, exciting time for us and our brains are having to cope with all our fears and worries etc

supadupaturkeystupour · 17/12/2011 18:10

sorry about the pic of my dinner fellow FBookers. I was just so impressed with my husband for packing me off to bed at 2pm, cleaning the house, looking after our son and presenting me with a cooked tea Grin He must be sensing my mixed up mood Grin

addictediam · 17/12/2011 18:28

Mulled that reminds me dd didnt respond to anything either, I kept reading all the books that siad she shoukd respond to light, music, voices, tappings etc and got myself into a state worrying. Then one day beyonce's all the single ladies came on and she danced and danced! Dh and i found it so funny, everytime we played that song she would dance :o I've yet to find what this monster responds to tho!

supadupaturkeystupour · 17/12/2011 18:37

OMG, he just fetched me pudding!!! A WHOLE BAG OF DOLLY MIXTURES Grin

nom nom nom

no external reactions from mine either except she moves when i prod her

MakesXmasCakesWhenStressed · 17/12/2011 18:40

went for my 'tour' round the maternity unit today :) Three rooms and you're done

It was my MW doing it and all the other couples are having their ante-natal care elsewhere, so it was like I was in a secret club :) She's told me I have to hang on till she's back off leave on the 8th because she wants to deliver me herself :) Nice to be wanted! Hang on in there baby...

SantaSHO · 17/12/2011 18:54

Aw cakes that lovely

This baby doesn't really respond to much either, just like its big sister.

Has anyone experienced a foot sticking out the bump yet? That was my favourite highlight when carrying dd.
It was usually just her heel she would stick out but one day it was her whole right foot, I could feel all 5 toes Grin dp was totally freaked out!
Sadly with baby being breech its only the head that tries to escape

abeautifulbutterfly · 17/12/2011 18:55

Yep, moodiness hormones are kicking in here too, though I'm still only 36 wks today...
I had a weep because some hooded baby towels that DH and the girls bought today looked wonderful and then it turned out the applique design on the hooded bit is not backed on the inside where baby's head will go and they will be all scratchy.
Then another one because I wanted to wash and disinfect the baby bath stand I got from a friend and I couldn't find a bowl to put the water in Hmm. Luckily DH came to the rescue both times with a hug and did it himself (and cooked the dinner and washed the girls' hair - he is such a star!)
Am also getting more frequent period-type pains, guess things are stretching now.
As for pain relief - I'm not planning on any, with DD1 I had an epidural which stopped everything so they then took it away and gave me oxytocin and the whole thing was awful. With DD2 I just gritted my teeth, told myself it was gonna be a bastard but it would all be over sooner or later, and I managed much better. (Here there is no g&a, pethidine or anything else, it's epi or nothing). Would like to have a water birth but there's only one bath (no pools) in each of the possible hospitals where I can go so if it's taken, it's taken and I don't want to psych myself up if it might be unavailable.

BTW Moobee I had to have a little giggle at your spillages, in sympathy, of course...
Wow, things are getting so close for some of you now - if I don't catch up for another 2 days I'm sure there'll be a snuggler in someone's arms somewhere! Take care of yourselves with the snow (we haven't got any yet, though they have forecast it for tomorrow.)

Off to read bedtime stories!

Wormshuffler · 17/12/2011 19:00

My dd used to respond to the macy gray song I try . Ds didn't respond to anything. This little one jumps when I fart!

GiraffeAHolic · 17/12/2011 19:05

This one responds to dd's voice, especially when she sings, i struggle not to cry everytime Blush

Eurgh it's back ache central here, comfortable is a word that I've long since forgotten the meaning of.

GhosteditorOfChristmasPast · 17/12/2011 20:10

Yy to the random emotionalness. We've just sold some furniture on eBay that we no longer have room for and I'm v close to tears because I'm worried about arranging a time with the buyer to collect tomorrow. He wants to pay cash on collection - anyone know if that's ok? Must be standard for non-shippable large items surely? I can still declare payment etc so eBay get their fees...

GhosteditorOfChristmasPast · 17/12/2011 20:11

Hopefully DH will be back soon and I can make him handle it...
