Well that makes me feel a bit better about the pooing issue! Laughed about sieve comment SF... I doubt my dh would be so lovely! He'd probably take a photo of it to remind me! will have to remember not to eat anything too offensive the week before due, just incase! ...and vomiting... that's something I hadnt contemplated either!

spub you poor thing. It must have been horrid for dd. Theres nothing worse than not being able to have a good clear out. At least you have some answers now.

SF, Celebrity Fit club is on a tues i think on HTV, first week this week. Havent heard of half of them, but its quite entertaining to see Russel Grant failing miserably!

HC, I've been feeling quite emotional lately too. Either really really happy or snappy and irritable. No bladder leaks yet though!.. This is my first though! Tiredness seems to peak at around two pm with me, and I'm left wishing I wasnt sat at a desk, but lolling on a bean bag with a blanket! Incredibly thirsty lately and eating boxes of ice lollies.

maewest · 13/01/2006 09:26

Good Morning! I'm exactly 12 weeks today!!!!!!!

I find that I keep 'forgetting' that I'm pg (at the start I thought about it all the time), think this is mainly because I haven't really felt that different. Then I 'come to' and remember that in 6 months there will be a baby maewest in our house!

I've had the odd bout of queasyness, a bit like travel sickness, usually brought on by a strong smell, however this seems to be going now. I've also been a bit spotty (grr) haven't had this since I was a teenager - when do I get to glow dammit?

Oh and my boobs are a bit bigger, but because I was a large lady to start with (ahem, 32H) it doesn't notice as much. To be honest, one of my fears about getting pg was not being able to find any bras to fit (I spend enough on Bravissimo as it is).

Anyroad, just realised that this is a bit of a long post so better stop wittering - Happy Friday to all of you.

IamBlossom · 13/01/2006 10:56

Morning Ladeez!

I've got my scan at 2.15. Am very much looking forward to it, but have the same concerns as last time:

a) "Mrs Blossom, what exactly is it that made you think you were pregnant? There is nothing here at all apart form a large pile of Terry's Chocolate Orange...."

b) "Wow I've never seen one quite THAT shape before, I'm going to have to summon a colleague for assistance"

c) "Mrs blossom, take a deep breath we've got some thing to tell you"

etc etc etc. It being Friday 13th is NOT helping, just want to see my baby and get reassured.

I feel really fine these days compared to all over Christmas, tiredness is receding, even watching whole episodes of CBB! Don't feel sick anymore, but get MEGA hungry, need the loo twice a night, and am really thirsty most of the time.

Anyhoo, wish me luck! Be on later to update you.

Blossom xx

jersey · 13/01/2006 11:07

Good luck blossom, I'm sure everything will be fine.

Cwmtydu · 13/01/2006 16:21

good luck blossom
and hallo everyone -- realised i haven't posted on this thread yet so thought i'd better catch up.

am 11+4 and still don't believe it at all. haven't told my friends yet although EVERYBODY my mil knows has been told. hope there is actually a baby there when they do scan it.
have a good weekend all

HumphreysCorner · 13/01/2006 16:36

Hello ladies

Any news on your scan IamBlossom-you made me laugh as it really is hard to believe there is something in there half the time. ((xx))

Hello again Cwmtydu-you will have to let us know your due date so we can add you to the list. ((xx))

Why are we all thirsty? I don't remember this last time. Could drink the sea dry at times so weeing twice as much as normal in the night.

Off to mum and dad's for tea so I'll catch up on any news later.

Evening all,
Well I'm really thirsty too!! So I hope it's not diabetes otherwise we all seemed to have developed it ...can you get it this early on?
Went for appt with the consultant yesterday and heard the baby's heartbeat (what a wonderful sound!) It was quite a long appointment cos I'm quite an awkward case - I suffer from a condition which causes my coronary arteries to spasm - it gave me a heart attack 2 years ago (at 35) ..anyhow apparently ergometrine (the injection they give you to make the uterus contract and prevent bleeding)can trigger an artery spasm ...so the upshot is I can't have it unless I'm bleeding to death. I was wondering if any one else had had a 'natural 3rd stage' and delivered the placenta without having the injection? I suppose I should start a thread on it really

kbaby · 13/01/2006 21:29

Hello everyone.
12 weeks today

Had my scan today which was over within about 1 minute so I was quite disapointed. The main thing is that the baby is well and theres only 1 there. The image was a little fuzzy though as it seemed to be lying on its head in a head stand position. My last DD was in the normal across tummy position so it was a bit odd at first to be able to work it out until it waved at us.
Think theyve messed my dates up as they confirmed im 12 weeks but my EDD is 21/7/06 so surely that would make me 13 weeks!!

kbaby · 13/01/2006 21:30

Forgot to ask. Wheres everyone from in Wales, there seems a few Welsh people on this thread.

Im from Cardiff.

maewest · 13/01/2006 22:06

Not from Wales - but the other side of bridge, Bristol

bumpybel · 13/01/2006 22:17

Oh my god Kbaby you taffy! I'm a Cardiff girl!!! We moved to just outside Newport when we got married last year, for work and cheaper houses but oooh, i'll always shop in Cardiff!

AggieP, cant believe what you've gone through. At least you'll have super duper treatment throughout to make sure everything goes ok.

I'm drinking like a horse at the moment... and sometimes its pop, which i know is wrong and all that, but water gets soooo boring!! I'm also eating far too many sweets, so if anyone is going to get gest diabetes, i'll be a high contender. Must cut down, but i've got no will power. Am also able to do raw marmite too at the mo, which i never used to have as concentrated!

Blossom, hope it all went ok today. Let us know.

I went to an aqua natal class this morning in works time! It was fab... lots of splashing about with floats all in the name of relaxation... there were only six of us though, which didnt seem like many.

Feeling quite content today. Lots of happy vibes to you all

HumphreysCorner · 13/01/2006 22:21

Excellent news kbaby. If I am due 1.7 and 16 weeks tomorrow then yes, you are 13 weeks-surely. ((xx))

Aggie-my placenta came out about 5 minutes after giving birth. I certainly didn't have any injections. Having a heart attack must have been utterly terrifying. ((xx))

Will check tomorrow for IamBlossom's news.

Night night

Another Taffy here. I grew up in the Merthyr valley, but left a long time ago.

IamBlossom · 14/01/2006 09:29

HI, HI, HI! God trying to get on MumsNet with a 16 month old round your ankles, IMPOSSIBLE! He is as we speak destroying the contents of the office bin. STAY!.

Scan was fabulous, I cried (as usual) but it was so emotional to see the baby, as soon as the sonographer put the thingy on my tummy it LEAPT up in the air, and didn't stop dancing for the whole scan. Everything perfectly fine, only one in there, thank the lord, all measurements fine and EDD sticking at 26th July. She rated by odss of anything chromosonal the same as StraightForwards, so that was good too. As well as the nuchal fold measurement she located the nasal bone fully grown, and she said that was a plus too against Downs as studies have shown Down's babies nasal bones don't form properly in the womb....interesting.

Anyway, it was great, pictures were great too, and I think I might be pregnant after all....

xx

Another welsh girl here, but I'm a 'gog' (from North Wales)..from Bangor...anyone else from up here?

HC- well it would have been more terrifying only I thought it was indigestion, then decided it must be an ulcer, even in coronary care when the pain had receded I was telling my family I was fine and the nurse would be kicking me out as soon as the test results came back...nobody was more surprised than me when they said it was my heart.

I wonder how long ergometrine injections have been being given for..I mean the placenta is supposed to come out on its own naturally surely ...think I will do some surfing to find out

AggiePanther · 14/01/2006 10:47

Blossom..glad to hear your scan went well ...my baby was jumping about all over the place too ...wonder if the ultrasound annoys them or if they always do that in there?

Kbaby - good news on your scan too ...yes you're 13 weeks yesterday ..I was supposed to be due on 21/7 (my birthday) but they moved me forward to the 15th after the scan.

HumphreysCorner · 14/01/2006 11:22

Great news IamBlossom-must have really put your mind at rest. ((xx))

They don't look at nuchal fold stuff at our 12 week scan, only the 20 week one. Sigh, only another 5 weeks to go. Blood tests next Thursday then a 2 week result for the result.

Finally can't get into my ordinary black trousers this morning so searched round and found a scruffy pair of maternity trousers I had kept (phew). They are only for round the house so it doesn't matter how tatty they are-saves me paying £30 for a new pair! They are only size 12 though as I was thinner last time but it is only my chunky legs causing the problem-lol.

Anyone else getting sciatica? Was signed off last time with it but only in May onwards (DD was also a July baby) so January is v. early to get it. I have heard that if you have it once you get it again next time .

Must go and do some cleaning, struggling to bend down though.

Oh, did the string test again-deffo a boy as did it to DD and it went in a cirle as she is a non PG female and on DH it went in a straight line as it should. Did it to DD's elephant who is a boy and funnily it went in a straight line!

Have a good weekend girls.

Love to all

Yes kayzed I'm sure that's true cos I tried to book one- we have to do it privately here- and they couldn't do it till I would've been 15 weeks and they said there's no point cos it disappears after 14 weeks or something
