nanny-jo, sorry about your news
after my mc I couldn't stop lurking once in a while on "due oct 05 thread"

dangirl · 11/01/2006 10:58

Nannyjo - so very sorry to hear your sad news!! I wish you the very best for the future!

Will be going back to the premature clinic this pm. Have to let her know if I want to take part in a research project. It will mean cervical scans every other week from 16 to 25 weeks. I would like one scan to give me some information but not sure I want to go there every other week. A bit difficult with childcare and not appropriate to take DD as involving internal scans every time.
Have to make my mind up before 4.30 pm.

I still haven't been brave enough to buy any maternity wear. With 2 previous MC I just want to be 125% sure I guess. Still feeling paranoid that things aren't going to plan despite being 14 + 4, having tender breasts and waist disappearing... I desperately want the kicking to begin for daily reminders that baby alive and well!
I never had all these concerns with DD...

Treated myself to a facial this morning. Lovely! I think we deserve, don't we...

Have a lovely day all

hugs

lilianna · 11/01/2006 12:37

Sorry to hear your news nannyjo

jersey · 11/01/2006 13:31

Does anyone know if week 12/13 is a growth burst or something as was feeling better, but this week absolutely knackered......

AggiePanther · 11/01/2006 14:05

Hi, I read somewhere that in week 13/14 the baby doubles in size...so it could be something like that ...and I think weeks 12-14are when the placenta begins to take over the hormone production so it could be the transition to that that's tiring you out. Or maybe it's just being back to the routine after the Christmas break? Just some suggestions I personally find that chocolate helps

jersey · 11/01/2006 14:16

thanks AG, sat at work bored stiff and having trouble keeping my eyes open.

AggiePanther · 11/01/2006 14:18

I know that feeling! You could try painting open eyes on your eyelids so that nobody will know if you do drop off...just so long as you don't dribble

jersey · 11/01/2006 14:21

Good idea will bring the paints in tomorrow. In office on own so could start work on essay for college but just can't be bothered .

Something totally different my DS locked me out the house last night, and he had my keys (hes 19months) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thought it was a good game until he realised he couldn't get to me. Luckly FIL is round the corner with a spare key, and I had my mobile in my pocket.

bumpybel · 11/01/2006 21:16

Guess what i had in the post today.... only my date for twenty week scan! Feels very mad and near! Its actually been fixed for 19 weeks not 20, on 7th Feb, but I'm not complaining... another yummy scan to swoon over!HC have you had anything through yet?... or spub?

Jersey... didnt Russell Grant come across awfully on fit club? Made me embarrassed to be welsh! 11.5 stone is soo light...I am not far off thirteen now.... have put on half a stone so far. (Am 5'11, so it helps to disperse it a bit!)

Really am starting to feel more lively now. Ventured out to low impact aerobics tonight... didnt do much sweating, but felt as if me and bump were sharing a fab big secret that we were getting fit together! sad i know!

Evening girls

Have had scan today at premature clinic. Lovely!! Feel soo much better now and much more confident!!
Luckily my cervix is really long, and Dr thinks unlikely that I have got cervical incompetence. Will have to go back every other week for next 10 weeks for internal scans...

Think I will go looking for maternity wear tomorrow Want to invest in some good jeans this time.

Have got my date for 20 week scan on 1/3.

So happy today

Night all

bumpybel · 11/01/2006 21:30

Dangirl... so pleased for you. Things seem to be getting brighter.

Kayzed... what are you 'me too-ing' about??!! Being energetic? Or not liking Russel Grant?!

Brilliant Kayzed... what date is it?

I've just taken a nose on the due in jan board and loads of them were due a few days ago and havent had their babies yet... it all looks really exciting... is it common to poo in the middle of giving birth? How on earth can you stop that? I dont think i could face pooing infront of everyone...It would wipe out half the birthing team!

Bumbybel you wouldn't know if you pooed or not as you would be too busy pushing!! Esp if you have an epidural. .

TMI alert! I wee'd with DS, couldn't control it, but they have all seen it before, and to be honest by that point you are so out of it you couldn't care less.

Re Russell Grant I thought he came across as a right pratt, why was he there if he wasn't going to do anything?

If already mentioned but my 20 week scan is 14th March.

HumphreysCorner · 12/01/2006 09:54

Morning ladies

How are we today?

Have got my 20 week scan on February 16 when I will be nearly 21 weeks. Can't wait.

Celebrity Fit Club-well, if they are morbidly obese then what am I at 5ft and 11st 6lb (last time I dared step on the scales)??????? I could never go on there even though Adam is quite nice.

I agree with the tiredness bit at 14 weeks-bit better now but I don't know if it is my hormones but I have an extremely short fuse. DH annoyed me last night and I screamed at him so loud that I flooded myself. My bladder just emptied so had to jump in the bath. Feel so bad at losing my temper but it seems out of my control.

Don't worry about pooing as you won't know if you have or not anyway because everything is squashed. I was sick too, think it was the pethedine. Also had the most horrible visions and flashbacks which seemed so real they made me dizzy so couldn't hold DD on the way back to the ward. Best way to describe the feeling is when you suddenly remember in the night that you have forgotten to do something important at work. Palpitations or what!

dangirl-everything is looking good for you

DD at nursery this morning so going to make some soup.

Take care all

xxx

spub · 12/01/2006 15:49

Hi Guys,
Hope all well. Haven't been on and haven't really checked the thread too closely so apols if I have missed any one's news - Nannyjo - so sorry.
DD (3) was admitted through A&E to the paeds dept of our local hospital on Tuesday night (got home yesterday). She's been pretty poorly since October and we've visited the GP and out of hours service 7 times and used various creams for what we were told was "nappy rash" and prescribed some stool softeners for mild constipation.
Anyway, we poor wee soul has chronic constipation with overflow and faecal impaction (basically her whole large intestine is full of solid poo) and all that's coming away is watery little drips that we were told previously was d'rea. We're so relieved to have a diagnosis and a game plan - lots of powdered laxatives for the next few days to shift it, then a maintenance and bowel re-education programme with the lovely community nurse who came to the house today. I am pretty narked that it has taken us to get to this point to get it sorted though.
Poor wee soul is in real distress when her bowel spasms.
Just what is needed for a stress free 2nd pg!!!
Hope all well with you guys and to catch up properly later.

Straightforward · 12/01/2006 18:05

Aww - spub - your poor dd! Hope she's feeling some relief now.

I can beat you all on 20 week scan dates - the midwife booked mine when I had my scan at 6+5 in the EPU!

And as for the pooing issue - I was mortified at the idea first time round, and very pleased with myself that I hadn't pooed in the pool. Told DH as much several weeks after the birth and he told me that he and my mum had been busy with the sieve when I was out of it between contractions cos they knew I'd be gutted!!!!
