Hopefully no one else has done it while my phone is messing about!

I can't believe people are seriously on the verge of giving birth on here! kitty being induced in a week! eeek! Xmas Shock
Least we know the answer to the thread title!
it's all becoming too real! Xmas Confused

ParsleyandChestnutStuffingLion · 12/12/2011 16:00

fryn the tennis ball thing is fab. In non pregnancy a cricket ball would be better as it's harder. Basically you place it on the most painful part and push or sit on it until you force the muscle to relax. Also works very well with upper back & shoulders if you put the ball between your back and a wall and move it around until you hit the sore bit then lean in. Lower back is a bit more awkward but same principle. It's the same theory that a lot of sports physios use.

Yay on the money front fish Grin

Gulp on the induction knittiekitty but then I'm a few weeks behind you. I have a stash of sweet things saved waiting for the end of Jan. unfortunately I have a massive sweet tooth so will be climbing the walls by then!

GhosteditorOfChristmasPast · 12/12/2011 16:06

Eek that's exciting kittie!!! Grin

Yy to the tennis ball thing - they're also fab for therapeutic massage, really good for your bum and lower back. In fact., I may dig mine out! I also have a foam roller which does a similar thing.

My work got me two x 2 hour beauty treatment vouchers as a leaving gift for 'mum to be package' and 'new mum package' - it's going to be bliss! I think I may go on Friday or next week when I finish properly Grin

MakesXmasCakesWhenStressed · 12/12/2011 16:20

That is a lovely present - I am so bleeding jealous you have no idea! Xmas Envy

And yes, am braving driving again as it's been ages (about 3 weeks?) since the last sitting-down dizzy spell. Such a relief to be able to get myself out and about, though am shattered now.

GhosteditorOfChristmasPast · 12/12/2011 16:34

I know the feeling - am exhausted and struggling to get to the cards I need to write, plus we need to do the tree. I might have a cheeky nap first.

Good news on the driving though!

I think I may go for massage and pedicure - sooooo excited Grin

Nanny01 · 12/12/2011 16:42

knittiekitty wow induction already I'm looking at wether our baby will arive sooner as he is in the wrong position. Though I am not ready in many ways for hime to arrieve. Though I have accepted it now.
GhosteditorOfChristmasPast not sure I will get cards done either. Leaving the rest of Christmas shopping to dh now.

SantaSHO · 12/12/2011 16:58

Great news on the driving again cakes
Fantastic work getting your money organised fish

So knittie is in the lead on delivery of her special Christmas package with nanny close behind. BUT will they be the first? ...?

greenlady78 · 12/12/2011 19:07

fish congrats on the money front, I also received a positive response and started my MA on Saturday, hurray!!!!

Wow, wow, wow, some little ones will be here before January, then? How exciting! Yesterday got as a present a crib, mattress and bouncy chair from Kiddicare...and it all arrived today (less than 24 hours!). Amazing service, really! Cant wait for the crib to be up!

ghost also Xmas Envy of your massage...argh, with my crappy foot and hurting groin I would love one!!!!

By the way, using the Lakeland electric clothes dryer and it is amazing!!! Two loads of the washing machine (I never was able to do that before, no space in the flat) and it is almost dry!

Gosh, I'm starving, where is my dinner already????

knittiekitty · 12/12/2011 19:09

I hadn't realised I was the first with a booked date to aim for. I've had no signs of imminent delivery though, whereas by this stage with Dd (37 weeks today) I'd had my show and was grouchy and restless and she appeared a few days later. I didn't recognise it at the time.

No leaky boobs that time either, and it took hours and lots of massage to get the colostrum started as DD couldn't suckle, so I expect similar this time - at least I can massage myself this time if needed, I did feel like a dairy cow last time and had at least 3 different staff giving it a go for me. Every precious drop I could get went into a syringe which they fed to DD before each cup feed - I'd forgotten how weird that was, lack of sleep made it a very surreal experience.

So I expect to be intact when next Tuesday rolls round . I've got maternity mats everywhere though, as she isn't engaged and if I do go it might be with a whoosh!

knittiekitty · 12/12/2011 19:13

Warning to Greenlady - you're heading towards my ironing mountain status already! It's so fab to get stuff dry but standing at the board...that's where my process falls down and DH has a lengthy commute so only irons at the weekend. I have heaps of beautifully smelling clothes and sheets that need attention - tell me your secret if you don't!

MakesXmasCakesWhenStressed · 12/12/2011 19:35

Kitty - I only iron shirts, pillowcases and the odd tablecloth. I don't really bother with anything else, as long as you give it a good shake out when damp.

My mum irons sheets, pajamas, t-shirts - rod for her own back!

FrillyMilly · 12/12/2011 19:40

I only iron shirts and trousers for work unless something looks really bad. My SIL had DD for the evening once and when I picked her up she told me she had ironed her pjs before changing her. As if i should be ashamed of creased pjs!! Ive got better things to do with my time.

rednosedreindeerhead · 12/12/2011 19:40

i don't iron ANYTHING unless it's a special occasion...

supadupaturkeystupour · 12/12/2011 19:49

i..r..o...n..i..n...g draws a blank

greenlady78 · 12/12/2011 19:57

Ha, knittie I am actually looking forward to it ...of course, because it is the first time I iron in years! I don't iron anything either...I make sure I put stuff to dry quite neatly and straight [fwrink]

Ah, just had dinner and a bit of cake, biscuits and choc....gosh, I was hungry!!!

Hugs everyone!

Mulledbee · 12/12/2011 19:59

Wow, exciting kitty! it's all feeling very real now isn't it? :)

I'm also super jealous of your massage ghost, I was wondering if there was anywhere round here that does them but I've not found one yet. Could really do with a relaxing massage!

Great news that you can drive again cakes!

I've spent the day scrubbing our kitchen and bathroom floors, washing up and tidying. Still not packed hospital bag though, that's tomorrow's task. We said bye to the builder at last today (he's not been here every day but there's always been an area of the house undergoing some renovation). Since there shouldn't be new layers of dust created, tonight I'd like to get the Christmas tree up! I might put on some carols and make a hot chocolate (in lieu of Baileys or wine).

Think I can hear my husband in the attic getting the tree. A combination of real life and virtual nagging is working I think... Grin

Mulledbee · 12/12/2011 20:00

fish brilliant news about your maternity pay too! :)

MakesXmasCakesWhenStressed · 12/12/2011 20:10

I saw your fine nagging work on FB, Moobee!

GiraffeAHolic · 12/12/2011 20:11

Wow Kitty, Are you counting down the days?

We have a pram and carseat!!! I finally feel prepared :)

abeautifulbutterfly · 12/12/2011 20:12

Wow Kitty - how exciting! I was thinking a month is soon, but next Tuesday??!
Frilly: ironed a child's pyjamas?? Something tells me your SIL doesn't have kids herself... My kids get party dresses ironed - if they're lucky (and now, happily, they are moving gradually into the "dress down" rather than "dress up" phase, so unironed jeans are the way to go!)

Somehow I'm not as impatient about this pg to end as I have been before (though perhaps I'm just not far enough along...). I have so much to do with the DDs - homework, ferrying to clubs, just enjoying them - and with my own work that while I'm looking forward to having a baby again, I'm not feeling so desparate yet. Mind you, I do know how lucky I am not being afflicted with GD, SPD, morning sickness or any of the other standard pg ills... And then I was reading the Nickelbaby live birth threads over the weekend and got really quite freaked out about how long her birth actually went on when it started, so I'm back to the ostrich-in-the-sand this-isn't-happening-to-me mentality...

knittiekitty · 12/12/2011 20:27

I'm not sure if I'm excited or not really - I've been stressing so much about the GD and I worry that she will have health/weight problems despite my efforts, so I sort of feel that she'd be safest on the outside now. My due date of 2nd Jan meant I only scraped in here, was just hoping not to have a Xmas day baby mainly.
Is anyone else having trouble with really slow typing on here and random capitals? I'm not sure if it is our laptop slowly dying.
Just for the record I don't iron sheets/towels either - they all need folding to be put away and that is defeating me at the moment! I did iron muslins though, got teased but they felt nicer!
Giraffe so nice to have pram and stuff ready :)
I've eaten loads of pretzels (new discovery) waiting for Dh to come home for dinner. And the left-overs from Dd - not good and now I'm raging thirsty for a hot chocolate sob sob. Cocoa in hot milk just doesn't work without sugar.

mulledfishandfrostedlilacs · 12/12/2011 20:58

I have finally bought me some boots :)

yay
