rednosedreindeerhead · 04/12/2011 21:13

thanks everyone, i was feeling it was going to be too early but it's so difficult to know when you have no experience and you need the work and the money!! and it would be a lovely gig, in a lovely country with nice food.... I'm going to say to the festival that unless they pay for my OH to come too I won't be able to go Sad

addicted fx for you, hope the little one stays put xxx

Mulledbee · 04/12/2011 21:13

Glad to hear the midwives are hopeful it will ease Addicted. Where are you going on your holiday?

SageandOnionStuffingLion · 04/12/2011 21:16

I hope they are right addicted and you can go home tomorrow. Thinking staying in thoughts and fx for you. Xx so if it is not a UTI have they any idea what might have set it off ?

mulledfishandfrostedlilacs · 04/12/2011 21:24

Hiya all,

Baby did some serious thrashing about while I lay on the sofa during xfactor. (sad I know) and everything has eased right off. I think he was leaning on something inside. I have been farting like a goodun since then as well so maybe trapped wind was all it was. I feel loads brighter now. Horrible horrible feeling though, I really wasn't sure. My contractions with DD were by induction and I felt every single one from the first rip right through me. This pain I have had today was more like period spasms. I still have that spongy ball feeling up my fanjo-theres been a distinct change in pressure down there since he came out of breech.

addicted thinking of you. Hope bubs stays put for long enough for you to have your xmas holiday and for him/her to be healthy and well. Say hello to my friend L while you're up there-shes been in latent labour on and off for 2 weeks and shes finally gone in tonight after her waters went today. Still not in established labour though, bless her.

Oiesha-can you mix lactulose with anything to make it more palatable-it makes me gag. You think OJ would work?

Oeisha · 04/12/2011 21:42

fish Yeah, I think you can add it to somethng like smoothies...it does say to take with food or at least a drink of water, so I'm guessing how it gets into your tum isn't that important. Thing is, what to put it in. I suggest smoothies as they're a similar gloopiness and easily mixed and may also be a bit tart - thus taking the edge off the sweetness. OJ might work to, though I'd dilute the lactulose bit at a time with it so it was mixed thoroughly. Last thing you want is a nasty glob of it at the end of tha glass! I just suck it up and take it neat. There were points that I couldn't eat in hospital. Lactulose and pills woudl stay down, but not much else. Used to it now...

addicted I think the lack of seeing the neonatal team is good, if worrying for you. It probably means they're less "excited" about the idea? I didn't see them for example, and the lady next to me only got to see them because her waters had gone and they'd booked a visit from them asap. I got the impression from them that the infection risk was their concern, and that may mean early delivery. Otherwise they were happy for her to be monitored (scanned, bloods etc) twice a week and to trust Mum to come back if any sign of waters going again. Still sending tight-cervix thoughs your way though xxx

Oeisha · 04/12/2011 21:44

Oh and addicted my contractions went from 5mins is and 'weaker' to 10-15mins and 'stronger', but mine came in bouts of 40ish minutes and then subsided for a while. The strength then lessened off, as did the frequency. Hopefully yours will just fade too...

mulledfishandfrostedlilacs · 04/12/2011 22:16

well I added it to some milk and raspberry milkshake crusha (didn't taste it at all) and had almost instant diaoreah-thats not right is it? I thought lactulose can take a week or so to work .

God only knows whats going on with my tummy today :(

addictediam · 05/12/2011 03:52

Mulledbee were going to centre parcs, we get home the day before christmas eve. It's a ver6 well needed break as dh is just so stressed at work atm (he threw a block of cheesr accross Tesco carpark last week because it fell out of the bag, so not like him! He's normally very gentil and loving.) And we were looking forward to getting away before 1dd became 2!

They now think I've had a mucosy show, although no blood, so that's a good thing. We could really do with hanging on for 3 more weeks, then I will happily give birth!

Fish has your tummy calmed down? Fwiw if i take iron tablets 30 minutes later I get quite bad diahreia (sp?) Maybe its just your bodies reaction to it?

OP posts:
addictediam · 05/12/2011 03:55

Btw the mw told me a mucosy show doesn't mean too much without blood as the plug can replenish itself meaning you can still go to term

Wormshuffler · 05/12/2011 05:32

Sending clinging on vibes to mini addicted 95% are excellent odds. The centre parks hol sounds fab, I love that place. All crossed for you that you make it. X

How's the tum this morning fish ?

I got rudely awakened by dh staking out an apparent mouse at half 3 and been awake ever since. I couldn't hear it but it would account for why the lights keep tripping out. This baby has definately moved out of breech and is so much more comfortable. I no longer feel like the top of my tum is going to burst open . My bump looks so much smaller though.

SageandOnionStuffingLion · 05/12/2011 06:54

fish I have the same reaction to lactulose sometimes. It gives me a headache as well. Hopefully it's cleared things out now though...

SageandOnionStuffingLion · 05/12/2011 07:21

How's the snow sho?

LetItSHOLetItSnow · 05/12/2011 07:40

I'm too scared to look out the window but fb is going snow crazy. Dp is just home from work and says its not too bad. But then he said he would stay up to collect dd from nursery.
Crutches, 8months preggers in a foot+ of snow is not good!

Hope baby keeps head down worm

Fx baby stays put and you still get your trip addicted

FrillyMilly · 05/12/2011 08:32

addicted hope you are ok. Have they sent a urine sample off to the lab? I had a UTI that didn't show with the stick thingys but showed once it had gone to the lab. I also had a show in previous pregnancy early then more with blood in once I was in labour a few weeks later. I really hope things stop and you can have your holiday. Is the centreparcs far from where you live?

I am exhausted. 34 weeks now and cannot sleep. I cannot get comfortable or get my mind to switch off then just when I've dropped off something disturbs me. I also think I have a stomach bug. Ive been queasy and throwing up on and off since Saturday night. I'm wiped!!

addictediam · 05/12/2011 09:10

Cp is quite close to where my parents live and I Know the maternity hospital there so that would be fine.

One other thing about hospital bags, if you have other young children, keep them out of their reach! Dd has managed to remove quite a few things!

Xmas Shock at all the movements over the weekend!
addicted - how are things this morning? have they said whether you're def in labour yet? hope it stops soon, you're not even one of the early Jan ones! EEEEKKK I think everyone is beginning to prepare themselves now after all these stories.
Good luck to all!
have a good monday Xmas Smile

addictediam · 05/12/2011 09:21

Mia I'm at the end of the list and actually very early feb!

They're saying I'm in early premiture labour, but are hoping the Cx ease off ovee the day and I can go home early evening.

OP posts:
Oeisha · 05/12/2011 09:26

addicted glad to hear things are at least stationary for now. Hopefully you'll be home soon and LO will stay in for another 6 or so weeks! My UTI only really showed on bloods too, though it sounds like your issues could be multi-factoral.

fish can't say lactulose has had that effect on me. At the moment I know when I've missed a dose IYSWIM... Confused.

Disturbed night's sleep again. Thanks to a headache with flashing lights AGAIN and weighting a rather large 6lb heavier than I did Thursday I got a bit weirded out. That and some discharge I'm not 100% happy with and I just had one of THOSE night's sleep. This morning I'm down 3lb, so either I've worried 3lb off or my scales were wonky. Still, I'm now worrying about the 3lb gain after not gaining at all...

Hope we all have positive Mondays!

GiraffeAHolic · 05/12/2011 09:28

Positive thoughts to addicted this morning, hope you're doing better too fish

I've had a bit of a mini mission; my bag is packed, have ordered a few last minute bits (2 nursing bras for £8 on Asda website by the way!) for dh to pick up Thursday.

Got nursery decorations put up.

CheesyMonster's little clothes are spinning round on a delicate wash as I type Smile

36 weeks today and, according to my phone app, by the end of this week I'll be considered full term Shock

I must be looking ready to pop as random people keep accosting me to ask how long I've got left - in the queue for the loo at the shopping centre, really loudly in Costa (praline and cream latte = yummy Smile) and this morning nursery mums who don't normally even acknowledge me Hmm

LetItSHOLetItSnow · 05/12/2011 09:47

My phone app says the same thing about fullterm being 37weeks giraffe, I thought it was earlier Hmm

I was very tempted by the praline & cream latte but I don't like latter so decided against it. Hot choc with marshmallows instead yumyum

How are you this morning fish?

GiraffeAHolic · 05/12/2011 09:52

I thought 38 weeks was full term Hmm reassuring to know that only 7 more days and labour would be acceptable though.

I can't have cream (sets off IBS) but was fine with the latte as it was squirty cream on the top, not as nice as the creme brûlée ones they used up do though Smile

Oeisha · 05/12/2011 10:09

WHO guidelines state "term" as between 37 and 42wks...I think...
Scary stuff ladies. 37wks is 28th Dec for me!
If anyone's bored (like, seriously bored) can they give an opinion on this thread. Just think it's "something and nothing" but it's obviously bugging me. Seeing MW on Wed. But am rather desparate to avoid another day in hospital, esp as I have my LJ delivery today and don't want to re-schedule...and don't want to friggin go to hospital again (have I said that already!?) as that's all the MWs here seem to suggest. And I really don't want DH to have to take another day off...he's basically got nowt left to take! Already having to work most of Xmas.

Fryn · 05/12/2011 10:13

Goodness - I pop on for a quick catch up, and 40 minutes later I'm now at the end!

Sticky vibes to everyone whose bubs are chomping at the bit to get out! If they do come early, just think, more time with them, rather than being fed up and 2 weeks overdue. Xmas Wink

red I think you're right to insist on OH going with you. I don't think you'll know until baby's here and everything's in some sort of routine if you'll feel happy going without him. And if they say yes, bonza! The younger the better for flying and going abroad, in my experience! And of course you'll then have a passport photo that in no way looks like your child for the next five years. Honestly, we could be taking any child on holiday with us, as DD's pp photo just doesn't look like her in the slightest.

giraffe I thought 38 weeks full term too. But anyway, sounds like you're prepared! Good work.

So jealous of all you mat leave ladies - another 6 weeks to go (most of you will have had your babies by the time I'm off!) and I haven't even started thinking about things for the baby, although I did move the crib from the garden shed into the loft the other day, so at least it's inside! Not sure where the screws are though...

Mulledbee · 05/12/2011 10:33

Thinking of you Addicted. Centre parcs sounds fun - I've never been.

Fish hope all is well with you too.

I rang the hospital directly this morning and referred myself for physiotherapy. Having to take 5 mins to pysche myself to get out of bed isn't compatible with needing the loo every few hours.

So looking forward to getting the house in order now I'm on leave. This is most unlike me! I've not got my hospital bag prepared either so it seems like a good thing to do.

Hope you all have good Mondays! :)

SageandOnionStuffingLion · 05/12/2011 10:34

Hmmm Oeisha I've been having similar discharge but clear. Less of a gush more of a dribble but it's been bugging me for a few days now.
