cheeptrick · 22/11/2011 09:20

I also plan on waiting to go into labour and meeting my baby Wink

DarciesmumandBump2 · 22/11/2011 09:32

Cheep sounds like you should put your feet up and let the rest go for today!

msbuggywinkle · 22/11/2011 09:38

We're having a chilled out morning, just got to throw some washing through and make tonight's dinner.

After lunch (which will be pasta with cheese sauce and broccoli...latest craving!) we're off to a home ed friend's house for the afternoon. I need to ask her to be on stand by in case labour goes really fast because it takes DP and my Mum an hour to get here from work so I might need her to entertain the DDs.

Then this evening my Mum is coming round, she will probably moan about her birthday, about her partner's grumpiness as he is stuck in the house after a knee operation and about my sister who is re-living being a student and keeps going round and eating the contents of my Mum's fridge!

Hoping my yarn will be delivered today so I can start cushion covers...

HoneyLovesCake · 22/11/2011 09:47

Congrats seven that's wonderful news Grin same birthday as DP so she's bound to be legend! Very impressed by the quick labour....I think I'd be in shock if it went that fast though!

Just caught up on all of yesterdays messages...I spent the best part of the afternoon & the evening making DP a super-duper checkerboard vanilla & chocolate birthday cake. Felt like I should make a bit of an effort this year as it's all a bit me, me me at the moment but I was exhausted by the time it was done...my legs just can't handle the weight any more & I'm going to get bigger?Confused

I have lots of work to do today & also need to fit in some batch cooking & washing. Hope you all have a good day. :)

aethelfleda · 22/11/2011 09:50

I'm doing a spot of shopping, then attempting to tidy my pit of a house a little (there is no way I'll get it all done but doing some will male me feel better). dD1 has Rainbows later (baby brownies for 5-7 yr olds), then I'm taking the DDs to a school mums house, they will play and I'm getting a facepainting lesson for helping at the school fair this Saturday!

OiMissus · 22/11/2011 09:56

After all my tidying yesterday, I'm going to try and relax today. Maybe a bath, then raised feet and a book.
May plan some freezer foods and go shopping later.
I had a surprise yesterday. I have two members of my team here in the uk(the rest are abroad). The 2 here are central/ key functions. 1 told me 2 wks ago she is pg, and is due when I go back to work in April. Yesterday the other told me she is leaving, end Jan. How can I recruit when I'm not there to train? We didn't replace me for mat leave, I shared my tasks between my 3 central ladies (other in Copenhagen).
Bloody nightmare!! So there may be some planning calls today...Sad

DarciesmumandBump2 · 22/11/2011 10:05

Oi Hope your get your people issue sorted.

Just resting with the rest of Greys Anatomy until my lunch at work later :)

cheeptrick · 22/11/2011 10:12

I just feel so big and everytime i move i can feel how havery baby is and i think she may just fall out Confused

I know she will not but still its not a nice feeling down there.

I'm 38 weeks and 1 day today.

DarciesmumandBump2 · 22/11/2011 10:29

Cheep Not much longer to go! Put your feet up with a cuppa & rest x

plupervert · 22/11/2011 10:34

Welcome, Eva Rose! Well done, seven! Are you home yet?
(Mmmcheese, be careful about your predictions - Seven was the one to issue her prediction about the weekend/Monday, wasn't she?!
3rd onecomingup, am amazed you can wriggle. Only lateral movement I am capable of is a waddle)

LittleMiss, poor cat! Have you managed to get an appointment?

aethelfleda, your DH is crackers indeed! I've cleared the schedule, so no playdates, nothing but errands (which can always be put off by a slattern such as I), casual soft play and park outings for DS, MIL's birthday this weekend (which I've sorted present for, so no stress). "visit" Cambridge and "pop to" Reading - is he nuts? You live in the SE, don't you?!

Cheeptrick, that sounds a very sensible list - NOT too long! But strike off morning sickeness, if you can Smile

msbuggywinkle, is your tummy a bit better now?

kri5ty and AWCH, not "TMI" at all; after all, it all started coming out, didn't it, when Tyel made her complaint. I didn't feel forced to confess about the sex, did you? Grin

Oh, Honey, that cake should be your last - really sorry you found it hard to stand. I'm having trouble standing, but no trouble insisting on sitting down - you're being too nice! Am thinking again about this foldable seat from Millets; it could be useful for MAKING somewhere to sit down to bf when baby comes, and is just a tenner, so not too desperate if I don't use it! My MIL has trouble with her knee, so I can always justify buying it for her use as well. Smile

OiMIssus, good luck with your calls today, and I hope your tummy strain eases.

fusam, keep those legs crossed and your to-do list full, so you don't have to worry about the premature labour - that's a nasty weight to have on your mind - my sympathies. Sad

Enjoy the lunch, Darcies!

I had lots of cramping/lower pelvis pain last night, as though baby's head just wouldn't fit. Maybe I will need to sleep standing up. AWomanCalledHorse, given your name, have you any tips for a desperate woman?! Grin

Sorelip, any news? Or did you decide to beat me to hospital so you could hog the Garden Room, hmmm? Grin

msbuggywinkle · 22/11/2011 10:40

plu Wow! That Garden room could persuade me (hospital phobic) to have a baby in hospital! Stomach no better, it feel as though it is refusing to digest food.

cheeptrick · 22/11/2011 10:40

The consultant said he would not let me go over 40 weeks and i have the appointment with him on the 1st. Tomoro i have the MW appointment so hopefully that will go ok.

I have resigned myself to being induced after the 1st Sad

It just doesn't feel like labour will start anytime soon Sad

(I'm so fed up of waiting now)

DarciesmumandBump2 · 22/11/2011 10:44

Cheep Book a reflexology session, it will help you relax and may bring labour on :)

cheeptrick · 22/11/2011 10:45

WOW at Garden room.

plupervert · 22/11/2011 10:55

Take it easy, cheeptrick. Fingers crossed for your appointment tomorrow!

Re your tummy, msbuggywinkle: there are clementines at £1 a bag, which could muscle things through your system? They are really tasty, too (quite, quite moreish), and could be good for keeping colds at bay.

Re the garden room, I'm quite sure that, with our lengthy trip to hospital, there won't be time for that, but at least I can look at it on t'internet! And the expertise there is great, so hopefully my hash of stitches from last time will be dealt with properly, if there's any more tearing. I must confess I haven't been doing my perineal massage - too tired by the time I have my shower at night, and it's also quite difficult to reach - four feet around, remember! Sheesh. Blush

plupervert · 22/11/2011 10:55

Sorry, if anyone can't access the link, that £1/bag on clementines offer is at Sainsbury's.

HoneyLovesCake · 22/11/2011 10:56

Plu my last cake? Shock Never! I will probably be baking in the early stages of labour...my screen name says it all, no? I'm just crazy about cake Grin Nothing calms me like a good baking session :) Your link to that stool has made me realise that I could do with a foldable bar stool for the kitchen though...off to see what I can find on ebay Wink

DarciesmumandBump2 · 22/11/2011 10:56

Plu WOW at garden room. Enjoy :)

The hospital we will be going to, has mood lights which I can look forward to lol

DarciesmumandBump2 · 22/11/2011 10:57

Honey I need a good fruit cake recipe if you can help me out!

msbuggywinkle · 22/11/2011 11:03

plu I even have those exact clementines sat in the pantry...however I can't eat citrus fruit as they cause havoc with my acid reflux, which is horrendous at the moment anyway!

DarciesmumandBump2 · 22/11/2011 11:04

DD loves those Clementines :)

mopsytop · 22/11/2011 11:17

Yay, congrats seven! Lovely news!
I had a total meltdown last night and got really really stressed about work and deadlines and cried for hours. Cue terrible headache all night and still now. Forced myself to get up but it's pretty bad. Hoping some tea and toast will help as paracetamol is doing nothing.
Need to learn how to relax and stop stressing. I am sure it's bad for the baby. Still feel really weepy.

DarciesmumandBump2 · 22/11/2011 11:26

Mopsy Breathe, Glass of water, some toast and rest. x

Earwigwam · 22/11/2011 11:36

Seven - my first labour was less than 4 hours start to finish and all the second timers I know had less than 3 hour labours so I guess I only expect it to take longer if baby is not in good position or something. Does make planning a little difficult though when there's DH to call back from work and DS's care to organise. Having said all that I will probably be hanging round for days with niggles...

HoneyLovesCake · 22/11/2011 11:41

Darciesmum Rich & dark, like xmas cake or something lighter? If it's the former you really can't beat Delia's Classic Christmas Cake Her site's pretty amazing; most of her recipes are available on there & I've yet to have a Delia recipe not turn out right. If you wanted something lighter I'll have to have a think...I don't make fruit cakes often so I'll need to have a root through some of my favourite books to remind myself of a good recipe.
