jigglebum · 18/11/2011 21:44

yes Tyel you had the right instinct - she lost her eldest to cancer at 7 years old. how hideous would that be.

Xiaoxiong · 18/11/2011 21:51

Oh god - we have friends whose child has leukaemia - they have advised us to get cord blood collected as that saved their son's life. I'm still trying to find out how to do that at a home birth.

AwomancalledHorse · 18/11/2011 22:02

I've gotten all hormonal and asked DH if we can have 3 instead of the planned 2 LO's. I expect one of you to remind me of this when I'm on here tearing my hair out & struggling with the first one Grin

Tyel, you're looking excellent! I love your mirror!
msbuggy you look great! although for some reason I always pictured you as a blonde (not in a dumb blonde way, I've just got little ideas of what I imagine everyone looks like)!! I'm a bit weird. Blush
athel, you have v.gorgeous girls! The re-enacting sounds so cool.

Darcies, glad DP apologised and got you flowers. Hope you're letting him know how uncomfortable you are atm!

Everyone has got such great taste in names! Like Darcies, we've got a good idea of what we want, but we're not naming Squatter until it's here.

OiMissus · 18/11/2011 22:04

I was in floods of tears. From the bump with 2 wks to go. Very sad indeed. Sad

aethelfleda · 18/11/2011 22:15

Re-enacting is brilliant fun (and we've lots of friends who do it too). Sadly this season we missed out lots of shows as I didn't want to haul stuff about camping with a low placenta. There will always be more events though, and next season I get to haul DS around the camp in a tie sling! We get a lot of comments from visitors which are v funny at times. "is that a real baby there?" "did they really cook their food then?" and "oh, look, it's got real little clothes on!" the DDs have a whale of a time when we go, they run about with their friends and we've made them toys, games and rag dollies to play with.

Xiaoxiong · 18/11/2011 22:15

AWCH thanks Smile we have a second matching mirror but it fell off the bureau a while ago and one of the panels cracked in half - I'm sure I can glue it back together (and I'm hoping the cracks will be...atmospheric?) I just haven't been keen on the fumes while pregnant. (DH is possibly the least handy person in the world - he doesn't even like putting together flat pack furniture! Shock)

LittleMissFlustered · 18/11/2011 22:41

Tyel Up until now I thought your husband sounded like a nice enough sort of bloke. But he doesn't do flatpack?! In finest MN tradition: Leave the bastard! Wink

Actually, scrap that. Sharing flatpack smells, he can stay:o

Am in another weird mood tonight, so I am feeding the washing machine and off to bed. I got about three and a half hours sleep last night so am hoping for a slight increase this evening.

Have got a suspicion that my personal life is going to explode messily sometime in the next few days. Not exactly a premonition, but an odd expectancy in my mind. Could be just dwelling on things too much. Specifically on things I haven't any clue how to sort in my mind let alone in the real world.

Hmm.

Sleep well folks.

Xiaoxiong · 18/11/2011 22:47

LMF oh no, it's perfect! I have a serious love of putting together flat pack furniture and would fight him for it if he showed any signs of trying to steal my flat pack thunder.

I hope you're ok and sleep well - non-judgemental listening ear if you need to talk about life or discworld or satsumas or cheese or anything.

jomouse · 18/11/2011 23:45

Pe all is better with a good nights sleep. None of us needs and exploding personal life as well as an exploding cervix. Could be a bit much...

jomouse · 18/11/2011 23:46

Sorry, did massive post which then disappeared so the above makes no sense. Will repost in morning. Sleep well all

Mmmmcheese · 19/11/2011 06:02

Bah humbug. Only slept 12-4 again. Have listened to my hypnotherapy cd and now watching four in a bed, im addicted!

jomouse · 19/11/2011 07:59

Hello cheese I did 12-6. Rubbish, rubbish, rubbish.

msbuggywinkle · 19/11/2011 08:05

Morning! I managed 3-7...I feel horrible! I am now opting out of looking after the DDs, however, DP is not coping.

Anyway, coffee and bacon sandwiches now Grin

cheeptrick · 19/11/2011 08:28

Morning all

I had a crap night too, had DH and son in my bad so not much room for moving and getting in a good position to sleep. My back hurts now.

We had sweet and sour for tea last night as DH didn't want curry. I didn't watch CIN, we took son for a ride in car and then to bed!

We have lots to go today, tiding house, get son's hair cut, getting new shoes for son and ordering the puschair and sorting out xmas (or at least making plans for xmas).

MsBuggy - Envy of your bacon butty

What is everyone else up to today?

mopsytop · 19/11/2011 08:48

I feel guilty, I did 10-7.30, admittedly with 5 pee breaks and some not getting back to sleeps for a bit but still. Not bad at all! Headachy and ill feeling though, a bit like as though I had a hangover although of course that would be impossible :( [Not :( at no hangover but at the no drinking bit !!]

Today I am going to go treat myself to some lovely bath oil to make my bath times even more lovely.

sevensevenseven · 19/11/2011 08:52

Morning, I slept 1-7, though DH had to sleep on DS's bedroom floor so I could sleep. DS is a bit under the weather after his jabs yesterday, he says his arm hurts and he wants lots of cuddles.

Might go over to my parents later and let them entertain DS for me.

plupervert · 19/11/2011 09:52

Hello, 3rdonecomingup! So sorry you are on edge about the previous two goes; that's quite a bit of pressure to be under; I'm amazed you sound so calm!

lottielou, even if you pop tomorrow, you are welcome! Have you really been reading all of our ramblings without the hope of getting a comment or question thrown your way? That's perseverence!

Mmmcheese, good that you have a strategy to make this time round a better one! Smile

hawthers, if your toddler just leans a bit on you, that ought to annoy the baby into wriggling away. Maybe your toddler is more considerate than mine (mine throws himself about and doesn't seem to really notice that he's bumping into others, tho' of course is very sensitive to being bumped.).
Mind you, my waist is now measuring 122cm/48" (that's FOUR FEET AROUND, people!), so it's only thanks to my height (leg length) that I have any lap left! Nice idea, msbuggywinkle, but a pic is not going to work for me!

Tyelperion - laptop on the ironing board! Now, there's a great idea! We have a spare ironing board from our move, so it's going to go right into the sitting room once I finish my toast! Thanks.

OiMissus, I like the fact that your friend said "more wine" ("some wine" would imply none had been taken yet, and that would be silly!)
My name was originally pluperfect (a grammar joke about being a had-been - see, another nerdy one), but it always felt a bit prissy (as though I were saying I was more than perfect), so when someone suggested this corruption, I took it! Grin However, with the fact that our financial situation has been straitened recently, due only to admin and not lack of money, I'm thinking of changing to "plutocrap" (this cash-flow crap would never happen to an Abramovich!)

aethelfleda, the re-enactment sounds fun! Can I ask: did you make your girls' outfits? They look great!

LittleMissFlustered, you did say you were feeling on edge, but that you knew it was a MH episode; is that knowledge not keeping it at bay? Keep reminding yourself of whatever it is you need to re-route your reactions. Look upthread at Mmmcheese and 3rdonecoming up, preparing for different births, this time around; breaking past cycles. The new birth is for everyone, not just the baby! Hope you can keep it together! Smile

3rdOneComingUp · 19/11/2011 10:06

Morning all! Slept through DS's attempts to wake me up for a cuddle. This being exhausted malarky has it's advantages, i may accidentally sleep train him while DH is away with my DD. We've been a bit of a bed swapping family up to this point (sadly not of the saucy variety ;-)).

OiMissus · 19/11/2011 10:07

Morning all, I had a crappynight's sleep too. Awake every hour with back pains - I was hoping it may turn into something, but no. Got to find the energy to get ready to go Christmas Marketing. It's our first wedding anniversary today, so we're all a bit smoochy. Grin

aethelfleda · 19/11/2011 10:11

Yep plu, I do make all their stuff (with the exception of dD1s hat, which was naalbound for me (Viking version of crochet) by a friend. It's really fun to sew and naalbind though I'm left handed so never got the hang of knitting . but that's OK, they didnt do knitting in Saxon/Viking times!

plupervert · 19/11/2011 10:40

Happy Anniversary, OiMissus!

msbuggywinkle · 19/11/2011 10:52

Happy anniversary oi enjoy the market, it sounds like a good way to spend Saturday.

DP is dealing with a tantrum over a straw, I have left him to it. SIL is home from university this weekend so we'll go to see them in a little while.

Xiaoxiong · 19/11/2011 11:22

LMF hope all is brighter after a night's sleep.

I got to sleep at 1.30am after someone decided to roll in from the pub and get excitingly amorous only to fall fast asleep at a rather crucial moment - ah well, it was the last night before an exeat weekend so he was exhausted, poor thing. I managed to drift off again reading Fellatio's poncetastic Christmas thread and making poncetastic plans of my own...(cultural revolution themed christmas tree anyone...?)

The moby wrap and baby legs arrived today from baby bean (the place you suggested aethel) - very pleased how fast it was and it was on sale as well so didn't have to go on ebay and use evil paypal. (DH's card got hacked on paypal and it was a kafkaesque nightmare to sort it out so we have both sworn never to use them again - pretty much rules ebay out for any purchases.)

Anyway should be a fun long weekend with DH - driving up to London to go to a matinee with my mother, then dinner in Chinatown with my three best school friends and their partners. Tomorrow my SIL and two of DH's friends are coming down from town to play tennis and staying for dinner (making my favourite butternut squash & mushroom & walnut & sage white lasagna), and then monday is day one of the pre-homebirth deep clean with the cleaner (I will tidy and chuck things out, she'll do the actual cleaning).

Trying to stay active so the baby comes soooon...

cheeptrick · 19/11/2011 12:50

Happy anniversary Oi

HoneyLovesCake · 19/11/2011 13:10

Happy anniversary Oi!

I am feeling very antsy & needy today. DP is working for a couple of hours just down the road...literally a 5 minute walk but I did not want him leave the house & had to take some deep breaths not to get tearful about it Confused Very weird...this had better not be the onset of labour...I have eaten almost all the MW's biscuits Blush & really don't want DP to find out what a pig I am so I need to make it to Monday at least when we'll have our weekly shop delivered & I can replace them Blush. I have my fingers & legs crossed. Not feeling the slightest need to nest though so hopefully it's just an emotional day. Does everyone get the nesting thing?

Slept fine last night but it seems that fatigue has set in & no amount of sleep can stop me from feeling tired...just 1 more week & I'll be on ML! Grin
