Hands around a mixture of V-shaped pillows, pregnancy pillows, and re-arranges the glittery vom buckets ready.

Gets the jelly snakes going, along with some Cadburys for good measure, and a strategically placed fruit bowl to disguise the unhealthy choices.

Flicks the duster round, sinks down into a comfy sofa and awaits the rest...

Now I must get ready to go out.

NinjaChipmunk · 22/11/2011 09:46

Is she here yet?

Brooking for your BP to stay down purple, I don't know anything about why BP rises and falls but hope its something that sorts itself out very soon for you.

dream very glad dd slept so well last night, long may it continue!

Right I'm off to make breakfast for me and the boy and to decide what to do with our day. Any suggestions?

NinjaChipmunk · 22/11/2011 10:32

so I've finally managed to get hold of someone who knows about appointments at my hospital, proper booking appointment and 12 week scan now booked for 12 and 15 Dec respectively. Hurray, I feel like I am actually on a list somewhere now!

Biscuitsandtea · 22/11/2011 10:52

Yay for the scan and booking appts Ninja. And this side of Christmas too which is super ace. How many weeks are you now?

tilder · 22/11/2011 11:26

Wow ladies, not sure I can keep up - I can only log on occasionally. Hope that will be OK.

Am with you on looking forward to maternity leave and actually worked out how many days I have left (I finish towards the end of Jan) and as I work part time and have 2 wks off at Christmas only have aroun 20 days left. Can't wait - am knackered.

We had an extra growth scan yesterday to check this one grows unlike DS1. I seem to remember as well that individual scans are unreliable for looking at growth and that its the regular scans they rely on more. He stopped growing around 34wks and was induced at about 38wks. The estimate of weight was pretty unreliable (+/-50%!) but apparently the best way of telling if fluid is low is just by looking at it and the regular scans did show growth slowing and then stopping. He was fine when he got out though. THis one is apparently in the average range, just on the small side so fingers crossed.

On the buggy front I second the problems with travel systems - we had a second hand mamas and papas for DS1 from SIL which went from pram to sitting and was great. Now have an ebay phil and teds which does need some new parts but will hopefully se out number 3.

Am hoping I don't cause Envy expecting number 3 - we faked a complete lack of interest in babies before DS1 finally came along that SIL actually asked if it was an accident Confused and I guess to a lot of people we look from the outside like we have had no problems TTC. I try really hard not to be tactless but am sure have had foot in mouth before. I know there have been enough tactless comments re number 3 (mainly around the sex - we have 2 boys and so many people seem to think it acceptable to assume we only want a girl. Because obv we will ebay another boy Hmm

tilder · 22/11/2011 11:26

Oops, long post, sorry. Has been a while since I logged on though!

tilder · 22/11/2011 11:48

OK, cluster post. But I just wanted to ask about stretch marks. Have been very lucky so far and just have a few below my bump from pregnancy no2, which I didn't notice until after my tummy had gone down so no idea when/how they appeared. Am convinced I will have a roadmap by the time this one is born. Does anybody know if they appear by stealth, crop up over night or as a friend thought don't show up until after birth?

Biscuitsandtea · 22/11/2011 11:53

Hi Tilder - how lovely to hear from you. Wondered where you got to!

My stretch marks definitely came before the birth. They were almost all south of my belly button so I didn't realise they were there for a while. Came as a bit of a shock tbh Sad when I think either DH or the mw pointed them out in a mw appt - I'd not seen them up until that point!

dreamfeeder · 22/11/2011 12:40

Hi. Excuse bad typing, have dd. Aka the Chest Frog Baby asleep on me... She did do nearly an hour in her cot, but this is only way to prolong it!!!

tilder, I smugly thought I had none until I was told to check under the bump- gutted!! Got loads more in last 2 weeks too.I have plenty, and know I'll get loads more now...

generic got her bfp?! How wonderful!!!! I've lost track of the other thread, couldn't keep up.

pomme, you can console yourself that if i deliver at 38 weeks (latest for twins) dd will be not quite 19 months so I'll have to do potty training with 2 babies...

Oh, and great about the scan Nd appt ninja, really good news.

jenfraggle · 22/11/2011 12:57

dream I think your dd must be trying to get all illness out the way before the twins arrive, very considerate of her really.

I was in school when I got my stretchmarks, it was so long ago that they have been silvery coloured for donkeys years now. The joys of being a lard arse.

Still no bump appearing so no new ones yet. The sickness appears to have stopped now (fingers crossed haven't been sick since last week) so now the only symptom I have is lack of periods. I have cramp in my left thigh and a numb, tingly sensation in my right one but had that before anyway. The only difference is now I'm not allowed to put ralgex on like I used to so just have to suffer the pain of DH massaging them. He says it is preparing me for labour but at least then you get pain relief! It hurts so bad that I am almost in tears when he does it. The muscles have rock solid nobbly bits in them which is where it hurts

TooImmature2BDumbledore · 22/11/2011 12:58

Yay for scan and booking appt, Ninja!

Tilder, I started to get stretch marks at about 32 weeks last time. They started below the bump and then grew upwards to slightly above my tummy button by 41 weeks. I am sure I'll get more this time around, although may escape the worst by delivering at 37 weeks. Although second babies are supposed to be bigger, so perhaps not.

Dream, hope the Chest Frog Baby stays asleep for a while! Perfect excuse to stay sitting down and MNing.

TooImmature2BDumbledore · 22/11/2011 13:01

X post, Jen, the muscle massage sounds v sore. Hope the muscle pain goes away.

tilder · 22/11/2011 13:06

Hi jenfraggle I had stretch marks at school as well and as my mum has stretch marks presumed I would get them too, so was surprised to get away with it after DS1 and to have such a little bit after DS2. Think I have mainly avoided them so far as my bump tends to be small. Will keep checking under the bump this time though, while I still can - its definitely bigger than before.

dreamfeeder things sound so much more full on for twins - have to say my first question at the scan was 'is there just one?' and was relieved to hear 'yes, just one', which is probably not the most appropriate question. Don't have much help re the sleeping issue. THe only things that have helped with ours have been a favourite soft toy and for DS2, who is nearly 3, a bottle if he has a daytime nap Blush I know I should wean him, but it works... For DS1 some controlled crying did help (I know its controversial) but had absolutely no effect for DS2.

dreamfeeder · 22/11/2011 13:10

LOVE the thought that she's getting all the illness out of the way pre-twins Jen!!!! But oh I need a wee so much and one of said twins wriggling like a loon n making it worse...
And enjoy your symptom free time- that'll pass and then they're all grim ( bar the movements). Poor you with the muscle pain...

dreamfeeder · 22/11/2011 13:22

tilder, I'm so pleased I feel almost sorry for anyone only having one!! (Obviously don't mean that seriously, major advantages to one and far less strain on your marriage I think!! And I'm quite busy enough with just dd!) I blame the hormones. Wink I have stretchmarks on my thighs from school years. My mum has none so we obviously have different skin types. My mum also had no m.s and breezed through both pg's. How irritating, my polar opposite!!!! And if my dd took a bottle and it worked, no way would I quit it!!! Have left her, 90 min on (crying on and off, not constant misery) she's still awake, n controlled crying not for me. I'm too soft can't stand the thought of her being upset when she goes to sleep.

I am officially desperate for a wee while mini-Darth slumbers on, chest Frog style....

OP posts:
pommedechocolat · 22/11/2011 13:58

How heavy is she dream? I'm wondering if a wee with her on board might be possible? I did that when dd was very little a good few times! You definitely win with twins and potty training as well!

GenericDietCola · 22/11/2011 14:44

Welcome and congratulations Generic!

TooImmature2BDumbledore · 22/11/2011 15:05

Hello Generic, come on in and join the party! We can offer glittery vom buckets and a staggering array of confectionary.

GenericDietCola · 22/11/2011 15:08

Thank you for the welcomes! I think I will need that glittery vom bucket in a week or two! Until then, I will enjoy the confectionary!

Biscuitsandtea · 22/11/2011 15:21

So so pleased to see you here my lovely GrinGrin

GenericDietCola · 22/11/2011 15:41

Aw Biscuits me too!

tilder · 22/11/2011 16:02

Hello generic congratulations on your BFP. I don't think we've met before (am new to the Brooking threads and recently out of pg denial) - am about 28wks and getting nervous.

Can I add a family size bag of crisps to the pile of chocolate?
