Hands around a mixture of V-shaped pillows, pregnancy pillows, and re-arranges the glittery vom buckets ready.

Gets the jelly snakes going, along with some Cadburys for good measure, and a strategically placed fruit bowl to disguise the unhealthy choices.

Flicks the duster round, sinks down into a comfy sofa and awaits the rest...

p.s. almost alarmed by the thought that if i go overdue i could be pg for another 6 weeks. given i'm struggling lugging around the hulk that is me at the moment, i simply can not imagine what that would feel like!

Wants3 · 21/11/2011 17:53

Whole central heating/hot water system has packed up nowscream so I am preparing for a slanket evening! No idea when a plumber can get here either. The money to pay for the repairs will have to come out of the pram fund. At least it is early days and I still have time to squirrel some more away!

One of my charges grandmother has promised to make me a quilt for my baby which I thought was really sweet. In fact all the parents are really excited for me.

dream sorry to hear DD is still out of sorts. Let's hope this is the final thing before she turns the corner. Have you tried any of those multi vit replacement drinks. I used one for DS2when he got a bit run down.not sure if there was age limit, he was about 2 I think.

I got my blood results back from nuchal test, 1:3424 so low risk. How does this compare to everyone else's. This baby is determined to let the world know it's there as my tummy has really popped today. I will be massive by middle of December when I have to stand in front of 150 people and direct the nativity! :)

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 21/11/2011 18:17

Congrats on the nuchal score Wants! Your result was better than mine, and mine was 2000+ so I was happy with that! I've only recently noticed however that my nuchal test result statement has me down as ethnic group 'white', which is pretty random considering the information was plugged in by the sonographer while I was sitting in the room and I can honestly say no one has ever mistaken me for white before! Grin I mentioned it to my mw earlier though, and I'm pretty sure it shouldn't affect my test results. Entertained my DH though!

Sucks about your central heating! Plumbers can be soooooooooooo expensive! Fingers crossed it'll be straightforward (and not too costly) to fix! Hope you're wrapped up snugly in your slanket for now!

TooImmature2BDumbledore · 21/11/2011 18:45

Scream, I feel like I've been pregnant forever too! Mind you, part of that is because I only had a break of 3 months between pregnancies. Not something I shall be doing again.

Wants, congrats on the low nuchal! Sorry to hear about your heating, brr. Hope you can get it fixed soon.

Ohhh, why did I eat McD's for dinner? I now feel like my tummy might explode. Blush

scarletfingernail · 21/11/2011 19:20

Dumbledore I had a McD's at the weekend. It was the nicest tasting thing I've eaten in ages but I'm Blush to say it barely touched the sides!

Wants congrats on your test results. That score sounds good to me. My hospital doesn't divulge the scores unless it's high risk so I've no idea how mine compares. Bad news about your heating. I hope you get it sorted soon. Ours has a habit of packing up the week before Christmas and costs a fortune to fix at completely the wrong time.

hawthers your lunch sounds lovely and how nice of your client to buy some things for the baby.

dreamfeeder · 21/11/2011 19:47

still jealous of those able to actually access testing, especially because it's not that I couldn't have, just my Trust... gah, so no idea for this pg wants, but I think I was 1 in 3400 last time, on a blood test alone obviously as the NT scan isn't available for me.

I had a McD's yesterday too, Big mac meal with a chocolate milkshake. I felt rather ill afterwards but quite enjoyed it at the time Smile Tonight I am serving up the random concoction of left-over lamb shank in red wine type sauce, with a jacket potatoe and half a butternut squash liberally bathed in cheese sauce... wonder what dh will think when he gets home!!!

Well, got that baby to bed, after some of the vilest baby squits in the history of the world, ever, surely... She had the runs for 5 days a couple of weeks ago, but that was nothing compared to this. Still, she's asleep for now. I'm tired as she wouldn't be put down at all today for more than literally about 10 seconds, little lump....

Right just heard dh get home, best go and say hello

PurpleWithaBlueBun · 21/11/2011 20:58

Hello everyone, I have been hiding away as I have been a moody cow.
I need some brooking from you all. I had my antenatal check up on Sat at my MLU and had to go to the big hospital 20 miles away because my BP was 160/92, luckily it came down after a while and I was discharged fairly shortly afterwards. I know it keeps going up and down though and I am having another check up tomorrow so some brooking that me and the boy are ok, would be much appreciated! I don't have pre eclampsia so far as my bloods were fine. I am just a bit worried as I am only 24 weeks and it just feels too early to have BP problems!
I hope everyone else is ok and sorry for the me me me post.

dreamfeeder · 21/11/2011 21:13

Hello purple, been wondering where you'd got to! Now, we will Brook No Argument that part of it is white coat syndrome, and nothing worse than this will happen. Your BP will remain within normal limits. Bloods good is a great sign. You and the boy will be just perfect!!

Wants3 · 21/11/2011 21:17

DH has left a message with a plumber who also happens to be DS1s girlfriend's dad so we might get preferential treatment! Luckily it is still mildish here so not too chilly yet, although may be different in the morning:(
Thanks for sharing your results, DH wanted something to compare ours with!

PurpleWithaBlueBun · 21/11/2011 21:22

Thank you Dream

I have been feeling ick for a while and had a blood test on the Friday to rule stuff out. So I was quite lucky they didn't have to draw any more blood on Sat, as my blood was still sat in the Lab so they could do extra tests on it. This was a real bonus as I am needlephobic! As all my tests have been fine my guess is that I just have ropey BP at the moment and that is what is making me feel rough.

fishcakefoxtrot · 21/11/2011 21:30

Oh no Too! I know people who love their Quinnys! I suspect it was just me! It was not meant to be a criticism of the Quinny more an illustration that buggies perform differently with different weights in them. And different users. Oh dear. I will put my spade away now as I suspect I am digging deeper and deeper... I am sure that you and babytoo will be very happy in your Quinny!

Dream sorry to hear your DD is unwell again, I hope you get a better night tonight. DD had a run of illness last winter/spring which I put down to her starting walking and coming into contact with even more germs. I hope you don't get any of it. She was fine post MMR, btw.

Will be brooking for nice, normal blood pressure for you purple

Hawthers there will be no going overdue. We want a Christmas baby!

I have had a headache on and off for days now. I spoke to a midwife earlier who said it was fine to take some co-codamol, which normally works in a non-pregnant state. If it doesn't I am going to visit the GP and my blood pressure checked, just in case. I suspect it is just tension and tiredness though.

dreamfeeder · 21/11/2011 21:44

fishcake, I had a 3 day pounding headache. Made DH do my BP (got to be some perks!) and it was fine, so think mine was tension, tiredness and worry- about this pg and DD too. She's been walking for months, so I can't blame that. Think there's just loads of bugs going around.

hawthers, you are absolutely banned from going overdue- we want that baby before Christmas!!! plus hold off on Christmas day or you'll always have the baby getting one present for both Wink

It's good they've ruled things out purple. if you think it would help you can buy blood pressure machines from boots etc, and maybe you'd be more relaxed about it if you could check your own daily? Then you could also report to the mw or doctor if it was up, or you were concerned, by how much, for how long etc from readings taken at a similar time each day? Thats probably totally OTT. Did they tell you what to look out for? Like headache etc? I can't think of any other signs of pre-eclampsia which is bad- I was warned as it's higher risk for twin pg- baby brain... oh, except protein in your wee- cn they get you some dip sticks to check that at home??

Very glad to hear about these children fine post MMR. Doubt DD will have it Thursday at the minute...

Hope you do get preferential treatment wants!! No boiler

I've got the Alien-style can see the foot kicking already Grin Grin. Wierd but lovely too. And so early!! 18+4, but I am huge.... off to try and show DH right now before baby stops kicking (quite near middle, so I'd guess twin 2 but wouldn't put money on it!!)

OP posts:
Biscuitsandtea · 21/11/2011 22:00

Just a quickie to say brooking for you purple - hope that BP comes down.

Dream hope dd is better tonight.

I've been to preg yoga tonight which was quite nice, and conveniently at the end of my road. I did keep giggling though when she said things like 'contractions will hurt' Smile. But she's right, I do need a positive mindset to go into this one. I think I'm a bit mentally scarred by last time so when she suggests something like a good position for early labour, I can't process that as I was strapped up to monitors and my labour was nothing like all this walking around and being on all fours malarky. But just because it was bad last time doesn't mean it should be this time. I just need to recondition my brain that it's like a clean slate!!!

Sorry for such a brief post. Don't seem to have and much MN time today Confused

TooImmature2BDumbledore · 21/11/2011 22:29

Dream, I am much too fat well padded for Alien-style kicking to show yet. Bean kicked really strongly right under DH's hand yesterday and he still didn't feel anything. Still, it is progress - that is the first time she has done anything other than play possum when he touches my tummy.

Purple, hope that BP comes down and stays down! Signs of pre-eclampsia include puffy fingers and face, protein in urine, raised pulse, continual headache that doesn't go away and stomach pain (very bad stomach pain, I believe). Also raised urate levels in blood (I think it's urate - it might be urea). Am Brooking hard that your BP behaves for the rest of the pregnancy and everything goes swimmingly.

Biscuits, I would have giggled too at 'contractions will hurt'! I couldn't stay on all fours in early labour - I felt exhausted and just wanted to lie down, even though I knew I shouldn't. I compromised by getting in the bath.

Right, have to go pee - Bean keeps kicking me in the bladder.

pommedechocolat · 22/11/2011 07:53

Brooking for you Purple and hoping you and your dd had a better night's sleep Dream!

WE have a mild case of chicken pox over here so in quarantine for a few days.

Biscuitsandtea · 22/11/2011 07:57

Oh Pomme you poor thing! Have you had it before?

Hope everyone else is well xxx

dreamfeeder · 22/11/2011 08:23

Oh no pomme, hope it stays mild.

Dd slept all night and I feel 10,000,000 times better!!! She woke up just after 7 with a particularly bad coughing bout, sounding like Darth Vadar on loudspeaker when breathing and very quiet (she got in bed with me and lay there-no poking of her finger into my eyes, nose or mouth, no wild leg kicking, no climbing on me etc etce) but clearly miles better.

There's no way dh would have seen and felt dd at this stage last time too but its really obvious now!! I get booted quite a lot. Bump really big now though.

Tempted by the yoga biscuits, I'm def scarred from last time!!! Dh still super keen for elcs though...

OP posts:
scarletfingernail · 22/11/2011 08:25

Purple I'm brooking for your BP to come down. Hopefully the docs are being over cautious, which is a good thing. Have they put you on any meds for it?

pomme I hope the chicken pox buggers off soon. Although I'm slightly Envy as DS hasn't yet had it and I think it'd be better if he did before the baby arrives. Of course he might never get it, and I don't want to wish him ill unecessarily. I just have visions of him catching it when the baby is tiny and having a nightmare situation of 2 sick children at the same time.

Scream very pleased your MW appointment went well yesterday.

Potty training has been full on in our house over the last few days. I'm completely amazed and so proud of how well DS has coped so far. We're no where near the stage of going out without nappies yet and he's still to do a poo on the potty. But wees in the house are now in the potty and he's loving choosing a different colour pair of pants to wear after each wee Grin

Biscuitsandtea · 22/11/2011 08:32

Ooh Scarlet good luck with the potty training!! Hope it continues to go well Smile

scarletfingernail · 22/11/2011 08:37

Tbh Biscuits it's not really the way I wanted to do it. I was hoping to have a few days at home to crack it properly rather than bitting and bobbing. But what with having visitors the weekend and going out lots over the last week we've not been able to go cold turkey with it. I was hoping to have it sorted for Christmas so maybe next week we'll become hermits and give it a really good go.

How's your DS getting on with it now?

Biscuitsandtea · 22/11/2011 08:43

DS getting on with it better I think (hope?) - still a (fair) few accidents but he seems a bit more positive about it again.

Christmas was our aim too and I still think he should be there by then. It's taken longer than I thought it would though - even after a week or so he was doing really well at it and I thought we'd have cracked it within a couple of weeks, but here we are still going over a month in now. But the last few days he's been loads better. Although there's still a few accidents they seem more 'explainable' rather than random iyswim. And his attitude after them is different. He went trough a phase of almost seeming to revel in the accidents (gah!) but seems back to feeling just slightly uncomfortable after them which has to be better as a deterrent!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a good (dry) week for both of us!

pommedechocolat · 22/11/2011 08:57

I've had the pox so should be fine (my docs refused to do me a blood test). DD really only had about 7 spots so I'm hoping that she definitely produces antibodies and doesn't just get it again later when we have a newborn in the house which is also my worry Scarlet.

Yay for your dd dream - sounds like she's finally on the mend then?

And yay for all the successful potty training going on. I think dd will be too young to be trained before baby arrives (23 months) so I guess i'll be doing training with a newborn as well - gulp!

Biscuitsandtea · 22/11/2011 09:02

Oooh I'd missed your post Drean - glad dd seemed to be on the mend. A good night's sleep will have done you both the world of good.

Glad you've had CP already Purple - hope dd gets over it quickly. Ds hasn't had it here yet so am also nervous about him getting it when the bean arrives Confused. And if your dd is I my 23 mths when the second one arrives you've got loads of time for potty training - I wouldn't sweat it! Smile

Biscuitsandtea · 22/11/2011 09:02

Sorry, meant Pomme not Purple Blush
