Hi, I am five and and half weeks pregnant with baby number two. However I had MC last July at six weeks so very nervous as well as excited. I am due a six week scan on Friday to check if all is well so far. Because of this we haven't told anyone except my parents which is really hard as last time we told all the family but it was a strain listening to their attempts at sympathy when it when wrong. So here I am to announce to anyone that cares to listen that after six months I am pregnant again!! Yeah.

Am I the only one whose doctor didn't confirm the pregnancy? He said home tests are so good there's no need to confirm but it would have been nice to get that extra reassurance!

Compo, when pg with DS the Dr didn't bother to confirm.
I told him I'd done two tests at home and he said, 'Well I've no reason to think you can't pee on a stick so we'll assume you're pg!'

homemama · 12/01/2006 17:33

Oh and I'm 34, Normsnockers. No quite 40 yet!

Oh I wasn't looking for them to offer it on the NHS! Last time we paid £150 to have it done privately. I was looking for ome indication of where I could go as we're new to the area.

Thanks Normsnockers. I may do that but I'll start with a google search.

I'm slightly worried that I'm not very sick yet.

julezboo · 12/01/2006 20:14

welcome to all the new mommas2be!!! Congrats!!!!

Well the hospital called me this morning - the labs mesed up on my bloods grrrr so i had to go back today (1hour drive) and get some more done, so still no hcg results till the morning!!! Then i will go back saturday for another one and then yet another one on monday - the midwife told me i would need 3 results to get a better idea on how its going to go so i dont mind, im already black and blue i dont part with my blood that easy!

Next scan is booked for the 19th - should see a heartbeat then as i am a bit to early this time so fingers crossed - midwife did say it may be a bit to early for it but they will be scanning me anyway!

hope everyone isnt too sicky, my back is in agony im just about to jump in the bath and chill for a bit!

Julie
5+0 today!!! new edd 04/07/09 - 7 more days till next scan yay!!!

SnowmAngeliz · 12/01/2006 20:16

Hi everyone, can i join?

On boxing day i bled a little and then stopped, thought 'that's wierd' and did a test which came up very dark positive. Next day i bled again, rang the EPU for advice and they told me i needed to get referred from A+E, (Doc's was closed).
ANYWAY, to cut a long story short, they couldn't detedt anything in the scan at all, not even sac, even though i said i was only between 4-5 weeks at that point, there was fluid in Pouch of Douglas too so at first they were worried it was ectopic. 3 scans later, went again today and they got sac-yolk sca-fetal pole AND baby with heartbeat
I was so releived as obviously not knowing all over Christmas and New Year was awful

Anyway, baby is due on 7th September as i'm 6 weeks today apparently.
Although they were lovely at EPU, if i ever get pregnant again i'm gonna wait till 6-7 weeks to do anything as this has been a mad few weeks and very draining.

I have dd1 aged 4 and dd2 ages 10 months.

compo · 12/01/2006 20:37

welcome Angeliz - sorry you had such a crappy time of it

homemama · 12/01/2006 22:16

Hi Angeliz, congratulations!
Glad you got good news at the EPU!

homemama · 13/01/2006 09:38

mabel1973 · 13/01/2006 10:07

congratulations normsnockers and snowmangeliz

I STILL have no symptons (i seem to be witing this every day at the moment!)
Although possibly my sense of smell is more acute. trying to rack my brains and I'm sure the sickness didn't kick in til I was about 10 weeks.
MIL's bday yesterday so we met them for a drink - god I feel like she is taking over already - I had the spanish inquisitin about names and then she proceeded to tell all the names SHE liked, feel like I am being bullied (she was like this last time round), which is why I wanted to keep it to ourselves for a while, but DH had to tell them straight away AND some of his mates!

julezboo - table means absolutely nothing to me I'm afraid, but just very pleased that all seems ok!

mabel1973 · 13/01/2006 11:15

sorry julezboo - i've figured it out now - so you're above average then?

SnowmAngeliz · 13/01/2006 12:47

thanks everyone.
mabel1973, i feel bullied into telling people too, my mam is bringing my sister this afternoon so i can tell her and i feel sick as a dog

I wasn't sick once with the girls but feel constantly queezy at the moment.
My mam wanted me to tell everyone at Christmas when they thought it might be ectopic!!!
julezboo, sounds like you're on the same rollercoater i just got of yesterday. Glad the hcg results are good

Will try to actually read through all this thread soon and get to know you all.

mabel1973 · 13/01/2006 14:19

good luck with telling your sister - you have my sympathy!
I want to tell people, but a little part of me keeps holding back, just in case.

Hello
I found out I was pregnant on new years eve! Have had my first ante-natal appointment with the midwife yesterday which was v informative (and she is v nice too!) I have got enormous boobs (hubby is quite pleased!!) and am a bit nackered but other than that feel OK. Im 6 weeks and 4 days. Baby is due on 4th Sept. I feel quite nervous incase something goes wrong as its only early days (first baby too). Have only told close friends and family so far. Nice to read the messages from all you other September due dates!!!

compo · 13/01/2006 15:18

afternoon everyone and congratualtions Trinket We havern't told anyone yet as I'm superstitous and want to tell people after the scan. A few people know we're trying so it will be a bit of a giveaway when I start drinking tonic water without the gin in it down the pub!
