Hi, I am five and and half weeks pregnant with baby number two. However I had MC last July at six weeks so very nervous as well as excited. I am due a six week scan on Friday to check if all is well so far. Because of this we haven't told anyone except my parents which is really hard as last time we told all the family but it was a strain listening to their attempts at sympathy when it when wrong. So here I am to announce to anyone that cares to listen that after six months I am pregnant again!! Yeah.

Angeliz · 31/01/2006 13:49

appyday, my pregnancy is different this time too! Don't know if that's a sign and i ahve a house BURSTING with pink clothes

kreamkrackers · 31/01/2006 13:56

thanks for that. it might have sounded like a silly question but at least i'll be able to eat it without worrying now.

Woodelf · 31/01/2006 16:47

Hi y'all. sorry to hear about those sufferings ie sick/spotting etc. I don't know how you do it if you've already got small kids!

Had early scan today and yippee I saw the beanie and it had a heartbeat - first time I've ever seen this and a huge relief . Got wee piccie of it but rather blurry really. Due date now estimated at 18 Sept so pretty much bang on ( I kinda knew when I got pg )

Have to go for scan every week now and also had to cancel south american trip in case of problems, this consultant thinks my case is fascinating and I don't think he quite believes my advanced years....

Hugs to you all from a beaming (if pukey) Woodelf...

compo · 31/01/2006 18:15

Glad everything is okay Woodelf. Why do you have to have weekly scans just out of interest? Must be a bit of a nightmare going to and from the hospital all the time!

Woodelf · 31/01/2006 18:21

Hi Compo,
I'm having the weekly scans because of a history of miscarriage in the early weeks. It's to keep an eye on progress - consultant said today that everything looks really as it should - beanie is 1cm long!

compo · 31/01/2006 18:23

Fingers crossed for you then. It must have been reassuring to see a wriggling little thing on the scan. Can't wait for mine, still no blooming date. I'm 8 weeks today so will ring and nag if haven't heard anything at 10 weeks I think.

homemama · 31/01/2006 18:44

Hi everyone, this is the first I've been able to manage to sit up all day let alone come online as I have been throwing up constantly.

I literally had to crawl into the kitchen to get DS some lunch earlier. I feel so sorry for him as he's stuck in one room with me all day getting no attention. He sometimes cries when he sees me retching but he's also a bit too interested in the contents of the bowl which obviously isn't good.

Sorry to hear that some people are still spotting. Hope the beanies stick.
Woodelf, glad your scan was good news.

Normsnockers, neither my mother, sister nor MIL had HG. But then I've never been able to take the pill as the hormones made me very sick so I guess that's my pregnancy problem.

Appyday, boys are easy! You can change their bum in 1min as you don't need to be careful, just thorough. Also I teach primary age kids and the girls are always wining and falling out whereas the lads just get on with it. I would be happy with a daughter but not at all disappointed with another son. As others have said, a healthy, live baby is the goal!

compo · 31/01/2006 19:29

homemama - I feel the same cos I've got one ds - I think 2 boys would hopefully be into the same kind of things. My sister has one of each and all weekend one goes to rugby whilst the other goes to drama etc etc and they have different friends so she's constantly ferrying them all around!! I haven't got a clue how to change a girl's nappy either - which bits to wipe etc!!

appyday · 31/01/2006 19:56

Angeliz yeah my attic is heaving with pink - DD was 1st grandchild for both sides of the family, so I've NEVER seen so many clothes in the whole of my life. If its another girl I will feel that they at least got some wear.

appyday · 31/01/2006 19:59

Homemama - I ultimately set my goal at healthy whatever sex, just may be on here with a few more queries if it's a boy.

mabel1973 · 31/01/2006 20:55

wow! everytime I go away and come back again it takes me half an hour to catch up on what's been discussed while I've been away!
Hope evryone is feeling ok - or as ok as you can do!
I have no pref on sex, but would be quite happy with another boy and I think we will find out at the scan - anyone thought about names yet??!
I am still pondering the double buggy thing - not convinced by the buggypod and can get a 2nd hand M&P aria fom ebay for about the same price (have heard that is quite a good double buggy)
I am still waiting for my scan date to come through. My midwife was lovely, but my neightbour told me she can be a bit scatty and lost some of her blood samples one! so I hope she's remembered to send my forms off to the hospital! I ended up ringing the hospital and booking it myself last time!

HellKat · 01/02/2006 04:24

Morning all.
Wood- Great news!!!! You lucky thing getting weekly scans, mine are fortnightly. My next one's next Friday.
Sorry to here everyone's feeling so rough! No sickness here but spent yesterday feeling like I had flu. Had no appetite what-so-ever. Just about managed chicken, veg & yourkshire puddings. Still feel very wobbly. As everyone's saying roll on next tri-mester!!! Please .

katiejane68 · 01/02/2006 08:56

Morning all. Sorry for those still struggling with the sickness. I don't seem to have any now (yipee), but I am having to eat every two hours to feel OK. Unfortunately off sick with chest infection so that's no fun. It's so hard when you can't take anything to relieve symptons. I forgot how hard this bit was. Although my last pregnancy was only 5 years ago it's amazing what I've forgotten about. Hope everyone has a good day.

mabel1973 · 01/02/2006 09:37

Hi everyone - good news I've got my date through for my dating scan - it is next tuesday! I'll only be 10 weeks by then, so not sure what they'll be able to see , but very excited about it. i think it will make it more real once I see it on screen!

Katiejane - my last pg was only a year ago and I've forgotten evrything as well! I blame being pregnant for destroying the brain cells!

Micku5 · 01/02/2006 11:35

Morning all... nothing much to report really. Just re-reading some of the posts.

I have to admit I would love to have a little boy. I already have a dd but wouldn't be dissappointed with another girl. My dd wants a brother.

It's really weird but when I was pg with dd, I could only come up with girls names, this time round I can only come up with boys names and have already chosen 2. But I suppose we'll just have to wait until Sept to see what I have been blessed with.

compo · 01/02/2006 13:06

mornign everyone. Was sick twice last night and once this morning but managed to get out the house today with ds (poor thing has been climbing the walls).

Angeliz · 01/02/2006 14:54

hello all.
Mabel how exciting
Compo, comiserations!I feel bad not doing something with dd2 every day but am knackered lately!

My boobs feel enormous today!!!! (though the mums at School would think i'd had a boob job!)

mabel1973 · 01/02/2006 15:48

just got back from playgroup with ds where he bit two children, was hugging them, then sunk his teeth in. Felt awful, just don't know what to do, although am sure it's nothing malicious just that he's teething again, but just don't feel like I have the energy to cope with him at the moment

Coriander73 · 01/02/2006 16:40

Poor you Compo........as people keep telling me it will pass & it's a good sign not that any of that helps right now.

Mabel, don't worry. Just a phase they all go through..so they tell me! It is so hard when we're all feeling crap though. I keep telling dd that Mummy has a sore tummy when she's jumping all over me & wants attention! I hate myself for saying this but I can't wait to get her into bed at night so I can just blob on the sofa & be by myself ...

I have a bump now...trying to hide it at work but have a performance review next week & I think I may have to say something to my 39 year old single, career driven, unflexible lady boss!

appyday · 01/02/2006 17:03

Just been for a walk round Mothercare, looking at maternity and double buggies, whe it hit me "Oh, sht" I'm pregnant". Started to giggle a little hysterically so left pronto. Def well into hysteria mode now - how do I get about with 2 littles, how do I go to work & cook & clean & nurse etc. how do I give everyone attention, how the f** do I do anything? And Finally will DH and I ever get to see each other, let alone anything else, IYKWIM. I seem to remember thinking what have I got myself into last time, as well. Any calm voices of reason out there?

HellKat · 01/02/2006 17:56

Lol Appy! Ohhhh I remember those panicky moments all too well. Still have slight one's thinking of when little one's born, ds2 will be 2 and a 1/2!
Angeliz- Hoorah!!!! Someone else with the boob thing! My letting agent came around today and she's 19 wks. her boobs are teeny compared to mine! Hard to believe her & I were the same size before we got pg (34c). My maternity bras (36d) are too small . Incidently dp loves them...
Feeling better today. managed to scoff myself silly.
Mabel- great news on the scan!

I'm counting down the days until next week when i get my next scan and I can get to 9 weeks. I'll feel alot more confident.
Have a great night girls xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

sabrinaandjayden · 02/02/2006 08:28

what is dh, dp, ds, dd, think on the stats thread i got mixed up

curlygirl · 02/02/2006 08:32

Hi everyone. Sorry I haven't posted for a while, I have been feeling as though the stuffing has been knocked out of me. Faliing asleep in front of the tv at about 7.30pm, just after dd has gone to bed, so needless to say not much quality time with dh at the mo Still not being sick but feeling constantly nauseous, and have a horrible taste in my mouth all the time. Also have enormous boobs! My scan date is 28th feb, I am having a nuchal translucency scan privately because I am 35, had one with dd and they gave me a video of the scan. I hpoe we get one this time and I hpoe baby is healthy. I would love a boy this time but If it is a girl it will be nice for dd, so I don't really mind. I think dh is hoping for a boy. Best wishes to all, roll on 2nd trimester

HellKat · 02/02/2006 08:33
