Hi, I am five and and half weeks pregnant with baby number two. However I had MC last July at six weeks so very nervous as well as excited. I am due a six week scan on Friday to check if all is well so far. Because of this we haven't told anyone except my parents which is really hard as last time we told all the family but it was a strain listening to their attempts at sympathy when it when wrong. So here I am to announce to anyone that cares to listen that after six months I am pregnant again!! Yeah.

Well done girl!!! So glad that's done with.
I've got no idea what to do about buggies. Ds2 will be 30 mths when babba's born and while he's a great walker now, I don't want to rely on him walking everywhere. Thinking about buggy boards. Are they any good?

Angeliz · 30/01/2006 15:21

HellKat, yes they're great. I got one when dd2 was due, dd1 was 3 (very nearly 4) but she wanted one so i indulged her. TBH, she still uses it if we go anywhere far, it also keeps the toddler totally safe as you've got them both there infront of you. I'd say go for that.
You can also get a buggy seat i beleive where the toddler sits on a little step but i've never seen one of those.

HellKat · 30/01/2006 15:33

fantastic! Right that's ds2 sorted

Coriander73 · 30/01/2006 16:34

Hi all,

Two things:

a) Feel crap...lol....I can't wait to pick up DD from nursery, buy some bits for DH who has been at home all day ...being sick!!! oh & then go & spend some time in the little boys room myself...

b) I have the Jane buggy already so can I buy an additional seat do you think? If not the Maclaren twin techno looks OK. DD will be 2 so I'm sure it want be an absolute necessity but who knows?

CarlyP · 30/01/2006 16:34

ds1 uses the buggy board sometimes, but prefers to walk. handy to have on the buggy though.

kreamkrackers · 30/01/2006 16:58

does anyone have a major preferance to the sex yet? i don't think i do as i have a dd and first time around i really wanted a dd (although i was convinced it was a ds!). dp really wants another dd though. i'm not going to find out this time as last time i found out and then panicked after getting all the girly things that they got it wrong and i don't like stress.

HellKat · 30/01/2006 17:15

I'm going to find out 'cos it's fun. I found out with ds2 and was happy to be having another boy. I think this one's a girl but if I'm proven otherwise, I'll still be happy (saves a fortune on clothes too .

compo · 30/01/2006 18:40

I think we'll find out too. We found out with ds as dh really wanted to know. Everyone says it ruins the surprise but I think that's a load of rubbish - giving birth is such an amazing thing nothing can ruin it!!

homemama · 30/01/2006 19:34

KK, thanks for the buggy info, sorry I had to leave to be sick.
I have absolutely no preference when it comes to baby's sex. Even though I think we're going to stop at 2 because I'm so sick, I'd be more than happy with another boy.
We won't find out the sex because for us it's all part of the excitement. I do think you should be able to if you want to though as IMO, pregnancy and childbirth should be your own personal experience. It's hard enough without others critisising your choices.

kreamkrackers · 30/01/2006 19:59

have realised i need to keep taking the cocodamol as i suddenly felt very very ill, but i've purked up again after having them and eating some crackers

appyday · 30/01/2006 22:26

We won't be finding out the sex, much to MIL frustration, as we both like surprises. After having said I would prefer another girl earlier, I do wonder if we had 1 of each that there may be less competition as they get older. My sis and I fought like cat and dog for years, we must have exhausted our parents and I don't look forward to that!

HellKat · 31/01/2006 08:53

Morning all!
feeling rough here today, spotting still, cramping and feeling bleuurggh! But hey ho.
How's everyone?
Any news from TopBanana? If you're lurking hunny, hope you're ok xx

benjaminsmum · 31/01/2006 09:31

Morning, I have also looked at the buggy pod as my ds will be 2yrs 9mths so not needing ti often and he will be at playgroup some of the time by then. Only concern is the lack of a handle so does it make you twist when pushing it?

Glad everyone is sounding reasurred if not well and getting booked in. My midwife should call today to book appointment but I already have date for twelve week scan so not to fussed about seeing her.

Ds has decided he isnt going to have anymore daytime sleep and get up an hour earlier -AHHHHHH. So tired it is untrue. I guess we need to get used to it for when beanies arrive. Only 31 weeks left - lol.

We will find out what we are having and we are hoping for a girl as it would be nice to have one of each but as the saying goes as long as it is healthy I dont really care and even if not healthy alive would be good.

Hope you all have a good day. How do you all manage to post so often?

Oh HellKat, poor you do hope you're feeling better soon!
I probably will find out the sex as i did with dd2 and didn't regret it one bit. Made me more exciteds if anything. I would adore another girl, (even though people always assume we must want a boy now) i love girls!
If i had a boy though, i think it would be like a whole new experience so wouldn't be 'dissapointed' as such, just a little.......wary??

appyday · 31/01/2006 09:52

Angeliz - wary is just the word I've been looking for, I'd be thinking " er.. what do I do with this then?" Maybe the challenge of a boy and the unknown would be good. This pregnancy certainly is different to the last so far, although logic says that is nothing to go by.

benjaminsmum · 31/01/2006 09:52

Hello again. Just looked up the buggy pod and found its website at revelo.co.uk. This site gives some feedback but also stockists so may go and see it later today if bored!

norms - the sickness sounds awful, but on the plus side (you're thinking is there really a plus side to the sickness?) it's a good sign of a strong and healthy pregnancy. i really hope it eases off for you. my dp is the same with not being able to get time off work, he's just about managed to get a day off this week which is tomorrow as his shop is changing over. i want him to take a weeks holiday to help me out, it's hard looking after dd and the house looks like a bombs hit it. there's piles of washing but we're surviving. tried to do some food shopping with tescos online service, it took me 2 hrs with going back and forth to the computer screen with feeling so ill and at checkout it wouldn't accept visa electron i can't wait to feel well again. i've eaten cooked pasta with nothing else on it this morning as i can't face anything. i now nolonger know whether this is me being ill or just being pg! roll on the second trimester, the best trimester out of all three. i was so upset when the scan showed i was a few days behind, i know it's only a few days but a few days more of feeling sh*t is a very big deal. sorry i've gone on a bit hope everyone starts to feel better soon.

Hey all,

Now I remember why I said never again!!!! Feel ghastly. Just want to wake up one day & go "oh, it's gone away!!!!"...me thinks it want be for a while yet! Hang in there Norm & Homemama...my heart really does go out to you both because as much as I'm suffering...it's nothing compared to you two.

Re sex...well, tbh, we'd both love another girl..but that is based on our experience with dd. If we'd had a boy last time then perhaps we'd be saying the same thing. Of course it'd be cheaper given the clothes etc but I'd love to give dd a sister..but then again my Sister & I aren't exactly close. Still as long as it's healthy..that is the most important thing. Also we can't agree on any boys names at all!!!!

compo · 31/01/2006 11:13

Still feeling awful here. It's really hard having to cook for ds too when I just want to throw up all the time. Dh not being as sympathetic as he could be... think he's getting bored by my constant moaning!!

Coriander73 · 31/01/2006 11:22

They just don't understand at all. DH had some sort of bug yesterday & spent the whole day being sick. So when I got home I said coudn't you have washed up at least...at which point he had to admit that he had been less than sympathetic to me last week!!!!

kreamkrackers · 31/01/2006 11:36

just a quick question; decided to do a shopping list for dp, is it safe to eat pineapple? cos i know towards the end of pregnancy it's meant to rippen the cirvix and i obviously don't want to do that now. i love pineapple though and could do with getting more fruits into my system at the moment.

compo · 31/01/2006 11:54

I'm pretty sure it's safe at this stage

Angeliz · 31/01/2006 13:47

kk, i eat LOADS of pineapple when i was due with dd 2 then i read that you have to eat 7 or something for it to remotely work si i wouldn't worry!
