Hi, I am five and and half weeks pregnant with baby number two. However I had MC last July at six weeks so very nervous as well as excited. I am due a six week scan on Friday to check if all is well so far. Because of this we haven't told anyone except my parents which is really hard as last time we told all the family but it was a strain listening to their attempts at sympathy when it when wrong. So here I am to announce to anyone that cares to listen that after six months I am pregnant again!! Yeah.

just wondered if anyone who's having their 2nd / 3rd has seen those 'buggypod's'? I am debating whether I will need a double buggy and my neighbour bought round the great little trading company catalogue with it in. I have posted a thread on it, but not had any responses - I know they're very new - just wondered if anyone knew anything?

puppy · 30/01/2006 10:25

This is my second, my son will be 4.5 when baby is here but I am interested about reviews about the buggy pod for when I return to childminding once the baby is born. I don't fancy buying a double as I would hardly use it ( only would be for 2 school runs a week) the toddler I look after is a part time mindee.

CarlyP · 30/01/2006 10:25

SAW THE BUGGY PODS. could b a good idea if onyl for occassional use. i already have a dbl and a buggy board !

mabel1973 · 30/01/2006 10:29

i have been scoring t'internet for some reviews on them, but can't find any because they are so new!
DS will only be 21 months when no.2's born, so he won't be able to walk all the time, but like you say, not sure if they are best just for occasional use.

CarlyP · 30/01/2006 10:35

i only use my dbl now occassionaly if going for a long long walk or out for the day as ds2 aged 25mths wants to walk all the time. when baby nno.3 is here, ds1 will be 22 mths and i will put him and 'it' in dbl and ds1 who will be 2yrs 9mths will have to walk!

Morning all. Had a busy weekend so haven't had much time to come online. Hope everyone is well and feeling better.

I had my niece over on saturday and between her and my dd (the noise levels and arguments) I did wonder if it was going to be like that when this lo comes along.

Feeling rather fat at the moment, but that may be due to the hot cross buns and apple pies I have been eating!!

I have a quick question for HellKat and Puppy, these beta hcg tests, were they done by the doctor/midwife? or are they home kits? I don't remember having them done with dd.

puppy · 30/01/2006 10:45

Hi micku5, my gp did my hcg levels as I had a mc last sept and have had a tiny bit of spotting once a week in this pregnancy.
They did them 48 hours apart as the hcg hormone is supposed to double every 48 hours.

Micku5 · 30/01/2006 10:49

Thanks for that Puppy.

kreamkrackers · 30/01/2006 11:57

feeling a little better now hope it stays this way.

i don't like the buggypod but that's just my opinion. i'm going to get the jane powertwin tandem 3 wheeler stylon here

HellKat · 30/01/2006 13:23

The hospital did mine Micku5.
I've just slept for an hour and could've done with so much more. Dp took ds2 out so got no excuse not to be in bed apart from being starving (again) lol.

curlygirl · 30/01/2006 13:45

I was looking at that buggy but I was wondering where the front passenger is supposed to put her feet. Anyone seen it? I have only seen it on the m'care website and it has been puzzling me.

curlygirl · 30/01/2006 13:46

The Jane powertwin 3 wheeler I mean

kreamkrackers · 30/01/2006 14:09

look at the other images and zoom in on the image with the raincover, does that have a footrest there? if there isn't a place for the feet to go then i'll ave to rethink on which buggy i'm getting.

compo · 30/01/2006 14:12

congratulations vicki77 Still feeling really awful here. Was sick twice in the night and having really vivid nightmares too The travel bands seem to help sometimes. till no word from the midwife!!

kreamkrackers · 30/01/2006 14:22

just had a look at images on ebay which show different angles of the buggy and there is definetly a footrest on it

homemama · 30/01/2006 14:26

Is this the phil and ted double buggy? I've heard this is the best, although I'm not sure about the hammock bit for the newborn.

Normsnockers, you haven't posted for a few days, are you ok hon? Just sick?

kreamkrackers · 30/01/2006 14:29

no it's not. i don't like phil n teds as the newborn part is too close to the floor for my liking. also what do you do with baby once it can sit up. click below on my link to see it, simply says here.

kreamkrackers · 30/01/2006 14:30

the jane buggy that is btw on the link!

kreamkrackers · 30/01/2006 14:44

just had a more indepth look at phil and teds, it's not that bad! baby in back will be ok when able to sit up (i thought it was made for a young baby for some reason) but i think it's still too close to the floor for me personally. i think i could accidentally kick the baby part whilst walking! also bits of dirt might fly up or splashes of water on a wet day. it looks good but in practicle situations it might not be, but maybe i'm wrong!

kreamkrackers · 30/01/2006 14:48

philandteds

homemama · 30/01/2006 14:51

Thanks KK, have you got a picture of the jane buggy, I haven't seen that.
Don't worry if not, I'm sure I can google it!

kreamkrackers · 30/01/2006 14:51

Oh all this talk of double buggies

DD2 will only be 18 months when this one arrives so i'll definately need one.
Midife just left.
She turned out to be lovely, did the 100 page questionnare and then took my blood, couldn't get a vien and took ages to get some, then tried the other arm and got loads, then spilt it!! (Hope i didn't make her nervous ). Anyway, contrary to my views this morning, she was lovely. I will now hear from the Hospital about scan date so i am totally releived.

Must go get dd1 soon but am dying to look at these double buggies now
