Hi, I am five and and half weeks pregnant with baby number two. However I had MC last July at six weeks so very nervous as well as excited. I am due a six week scan on Friday to check if all is well so far. Because of this we haven't told anyone except my parents which is really hard as last time we told all the family but it was a strain listening to their attempts at sympathy when it when wrong. So here I am to announce to anyone that cares to listen that after six months I am pregnant again!! Yeah.

Hiya all.
Sorry I have'nt posted much but had another scare yesterday. Started bleeding very heavily so rang epu, they booked me in today for a scan. The good news (not for me but for baby) is it measures spot on (7+1), it's heart was racing away and I got to hear it. Pretty amazing as it's so early on. The padding surrounding the baby is about 10 x as thick as it needs to be (babba's buried very deep and extra cushioned) and basically my body's pumping so much nutrients & blood to the baby that the excess is coming out as a period. Downside of this is, is whilst babba's getting big & healthy, I'm suffering with lack of iron, nutrients, fatigue etc. Also this pg now poses as "High Risk". So fromnow on I'll need fortnightly scans and possibly more bloods sone to make sure I'm not too anaemic and to make sure little one's ok. She (yep got a feeling it's a girl) seems to be such a fighter and at least my body's trying to protect her. It explains why I've been feeling so unbelievably shattered.
God sorry all, did'nt mean to type an essay!
How are you all? Hope the ones with sickness are'nt suffering too much.

Hi Hellkat! Glad that the baby's ok but boy must it be hard on you!

Been v sicky feeling today, didn't even make it to work so only now able to crawl to the computer to check on our September crowd. 6 weeks today - can I really hack the pukey feeling? What kind of a wimp am I!

HellKat · 27/01/2006 17:12

Aww Wood {{{{{{hugs}}}}}}. Try and a chilling night, not doing anything. That's what I'm planning on

TopBanana · 27/01/2006 17:16

Oh my god Hellkat

I'm so glad your baby is ok

HellKat · 27/01/2006 17:19

Thanks. The relief was amazing. Now just have to take each day as it comes. Still can't believe how deeply nestled it was lol. Very well padded up.

compo · 27/01/2006 18:34

wow Hellkat what a time of it you're having! It must have been amazing though to hear the heartbeat. Make sure you get lots of rest and are well looked after

sabrinaandjayden · 27/01/2006 19:16

happy to hear everything is well hellkat, i havent posted for a while as i have been so tired and havent left my bed for the last couple of days the hernia is really uncomfortable but apprenent the will not have any affect on the baby and it will not get worst as she/he gets bigger. the weather is not doing the old nips any good either they are agony. ( sorry to be crude)

Angeliz · 27/01/2006 21:24

HellKat, i'm so glad the baby is o.k, i hope you are feeling better soon++

I booked in with G.P today and had to make an appointment with the midwife on my way out. The receptionist informed me that the Midwife will only admit one woman per week so i'd have to wait till March!!! WTF!!!
I explained that i was to have a dating scan at 12 weeks and by then i'd be 14, she got me in one week earlier so i'll be 13 weeks. I have the Midwifes number so i'm going to ring her and ask what i'll do about my scan.
I really want it now as it will reassure me once more.
Can't believe that about the Midwife!!
What if there were loads of us, some just wouldn't get seen???

sabrinaandjayden · 27/01/2006 21:31

thats outrageous

HellKat · 28/01/2006 06:06

Morning all.
Wow Angeliz! That's disgusting! You could always try going through the epu if it looks like your scan's going to be that late (not sure if they will but everything's worth a try).
How's everyone feeling?
Lol Sabrina & the "nips". Ohhhh know that feeling too well.

kreamkrackers · 28/01/2006 15:59

just wondering whether anybody else has a bad sharp pulling pain when they go from sitting down to standing up? i can't remember what pains are normal anymore in early pregnancy and after the last one ended in mc i'm scared with every pain i'm getting. i keep getting dull aches on both my sides but i remember being told that's caused by the ovaries burying themselves into the bowels to make room for the womb to grow! so maybe the other pain is normal but i can't remember (but it does really hurt at the time). i had a few spots of blood this morning when i wiped but there's nothing now. my heads spinning i'm just so tired and also scared every sign is a sign of mc. also i don't want to go to epu if it's nothing to worry about, especially as i have to take my dd with me and it's really hard getting out with her (she is peg fed and has severe gastric reflux) and she already spends far too much time in hospital as it is (also has a very complex cardiac condition). i'm probably worrying over nothing but i just want somebody else to tell me it's nothing!

calvemjoe · 28/01/2006 18:22

Kreamkrackers, I don't think I can tell you it's nothing, if it was me i'd be worried. As for pain, I was told aches are ok but sharp pains should be checked out x

kreamkrackers · 28/01/2006 18:41

thanks for that. i phoned the hospital and they sounded worried. they said i could come in tonight but wouldn't be able to have a scan or come in first thing in the morning and i should be fitted in. i'm so scared now. i know i always tell people in these situations to relax but it's so hard. i'm so desperate to have a healthy baby and it feels like this might not ever happen for me i think part of it is probably all my hormones at the moment and not feeling well. i really hope this baby is ok.

homemama · 28/01/2006 19:15

Hi everyone,
Kreamkrackers, I hope everything is ok. There's no point in any of us trying to tell you not to worry as you will anyway. All I can say is try to sleep as rest is good. It's also good that they're seeing you tomorrow. I'll be thinking of you, let us know how it goes.
Hellkat, glad your scan went ok, sounds like your body's working hard to protect your baby which can only be a good thing.
Angeliz, that sound a really stupid system, I'd make a fuss.
Normsnockers, how are you doing this weekend? I was very sick about 1/2 hour ago and I'm now enjoying a small relief period.
Compo, are you still as sick this time?

compo · 28/01/2006 21:35

Hi everyone. Homemama - still feel awful. Wore my travel bands all day today and felt better. I'm not actually being sick just feeling like crap all the tiem. It's worse in the mornings before I've had my cereal. Kreamkrackers - really hope there is nothing to worry about. Fingers crossed for you.

compo · 28/01/2006 21:36

p.s. I'm still waiting to hear from a midwife - went to the gp 3 weeks ago. Think I'm 8 weeks on Tuesday so not sure when to start making a fuss.

HellKat · 29/01/2006 08:55

Morning all.
KK- Hunny how are you feeling? I know all too well how worrying pains can. Have they eased off or are you going to the epu? Let us know how you get on. xxxx
How's everyone else?
I'm still knackered and still still bleeding (15 days out of 20 now) but at least the pains have died down.

Woodelf · 29/01/2006 12:10

Hi KK. Hope things will turn out OK for you - hang in there and lots of huggs.
Angeliz, I'd heard some outrageous things in my time but that takes the biscuit - make a hell of a fuss, not nice but hey, it works!!!
Feeling a bit less sicky now so taking DP out to lunch so at least he gets fed and I don't have to think about cooking but may be able to eat...
S&J - rofl lol about the nips - as the proud owner of one it seems even more ironic, my remaining good tit is getting huge and the other poor wee thing is not changing much at all. Wonders if possible to breastfeed with one or if will be too much pain

appyday · 29/01/2006 15:39

Hi, hope everyone's ok today.
KK how's things with you, hope it hasn't been too much of a trauma and the news is good.
The comments about nips reminded me that the only reasonI did a pg test was because my stubborn little inverted nip just decided to pop out - that was my only clue that something was afoot.
How soon are we supposed to start seeing a MW? With DD I got a visit at 6-7 weeks, this time the doc seemed very vague, saying only that I will have a scan @ around 12 weeks.

HellKat · 29/01/2006 15:51

I've got mine booked for the 6th feb (will be 9 wks that week). Only because I booked the appt myself instead of going through the doctors. Does seem to be taking alot longer recently for people to get seen though, my booking appt with mw with ds2 was when i was 6 wks.

TopBanana · 29/01/2006 16:00

Hi, not had the best day.

Started bleeding last night, not very heavy but this morning seemed to be much worse.
Ended up going to A & E who said they couldn't do anything as they don't scan before 12 weeks.
So now I've got to wait until my dating scan on the 10th of Feb to check everythings ok.
Bleeding has slowed down again now though.

mabel1973 · 29/01/2006 16:08

Hi everyone, this is the 1st opportunity I've had to log on all weekend - we have got a million things to do on the house before mabel jnr arrives!
Hellkat - sounds like you had a real scare, but really pleased the scan went well, I'm sure little beanie will be safe with all that padding!
calvemjoe - so sorry to hear about your other bump - things like that frighten me to death, hope you're feeling ok
Angeliz - I had exactly the same situation as you. I would've been 13 weeks by the time the MW booked me in and god knows how many weeks when I would've got my 12 week scan appointment through, so I called the midwife direct ( the receptionist was useless) and she booked me in the following week when I was 7 weeks pg, and I am waiting for my scan date at the moment (am coming up to 9 weeks now).

kreamkrackers · 29/01/2006 17:46

hi everyone, hope you're all ok. they scanned and found that i'm only 5 1/2 weeks pg and there was just a sac but that's normal at this stage. they've called me back in two weeks for another scan to find the heartbeat. they think i have an infection as there was protein and something else in my wee sample. i've been put on cocodamol to help deal with everything and hoping to get more results from wee sample in a couple of days. feeling really ill now so i think i'm going to go for today.

HellKat · 29/01/2006 17:54

Kk- Hang in there hun xxx
Top- Aw hunny. God it's so scary is'nt it. What a load of shite though from your a&e. The early pregnancy unit will scan you as early as you like but prefer to do it after 6 weeks (they can see more). Get in touch with them. If anything hunny it'll put your mind at rest. Have you had any pains or is it just spotting? Bleeding with no pain is surprisingly common but pain is the factor. The epu number might be under fetal health at your local hospital.
Thinking of you. if you need a chat feel free to cat me x

HellKat · 29/01/2006 18:16

I'm off for the night all, still shattered so going to have a soak.
A little something that's got me through the last couple of weeks is thinking no matter what i do, if it's not meant to be then it won't but if it is then by god it'll fight. So far this one's fighting but with the odds stacked so high against it who knows what lies around the corner. Just remember KK & Top, try to stay positive (so hard I know), try to relax (stress is no good for you or babba) and just take each day at a time. I feel almost like an expert now on this subject after all the worry with this pg. Take it as easy as you both can and here's hoping every day day brings better news.
{{{{{{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}}} to both of you.
{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}} to everyone else.
