Hi, I am five and and half weeks pregnant with baby number two. However I had MC last July at six weeks so very nervous as well as excited. I am due a six week scan on Friday to check if all is well so far. Because of this we haven't told anyone except my parents which is really hard as last time we told all the family but it was a strain listening to their attempts at sympathy when it when wrong. So here I am to announce to anyone that cares to listen that after six months I am pregnant again!! Yeah.

Normsnockers, hope you're feeling o.k soon!
I have lots of people sayinh 'you hoping for a boy then?' (have 2 girls) but i'm not. I'd be more than happy with a nother girl, it seems to be the assumption that we're strying again so quick as we want a boy!
Went to town today and bougt new Angelina book for dd1 and some GORGEOUS clothes in H+M for the girls. One outfit the same, don't know if dressing them the same is too twee!!?? I've never done it before just loved the clothes.
Feel o.k today, little queesy when i stop eating!!

Angeliz · 26/01/2006 13:44

I cannot type!!

Coriander73 · 26/01/2006 14:42

Aww..Normsnockers....what can I say? Except that in most other European countries the doctors prescribe antisickness tablets to anyone & at anytime. Having lived for a while in Madrid & now with my job travelling there etc, I did see a Spanish doctor when I was so desperate with the sickness first time round...(although I put my hands up & say nothing compared to you). They offered me some very typical pills that any Spanish lady will take if she's vomming on a regular basis etc. So they gave me the pills & then stupidly I spoke to my doctor about it who went on one about it not being safe etc etc & just to put up with it etc. Suffice to say I was too scared...much to the amusement of Spanish friends & colleagues who had taken them & just coudn't see what our English problem was.....

Today is a better ish day...not been sick so far...so fingers crossed although have the manic headache & feel queasy all the time (& that's a good day!!). MW is popping over at 4 so will report back. As for birth...hmm...do want a VBAC as last time was a little extreme to say the least but can't even think about that until the sickness has passed & I'm feeling like me again...lol

Coriander73 · 26/01/2006 14:43

Angeliz..I have a daughter & I want another..!!!!

katiejane68 · 26/01/2006 14:44

Norms agree with you on the lectures. Right now I don't care I cannot think beyond today the way I'm feeling. I don't care if it's a boy or girl and I'm sure we'll manage with 2 kids!!!! Lots of other people do.

Just had a hot chocolate from the machine, really wished I hadn't now -ugggggh!

Oh someone told me today I look pregnant - what the bloody hell does that mean - just kick me whilst I'm down why don't you

compo · 26/01/2006 15:06

Oh no KaiteJane - I'd e gutted if someone said that to me already!! I've only told my sister and she's already said she hopes I have a girl. I'd be quite happy with either - I hate the assumptions people make!!

Coriander73 · 26/01/2006 15:12

Two people at work commented on how slim I was looking yesterday!!!! Made me chuckle....I had put on quite a lot of weight but have lost it all again since having head down the toilet...

Put on a hefty 3 stone last time...so really hope it's not as much....

appyday · 26/01/2006 16:28

Just been catching up on messages.Does anyone else feel guilty for having a boy/girl preference? I would love another girl but always feel I should say I don't mind, and worry I may not love a little boy as much to confess.
I'm still only getting mild nausea, but I quit my multivit as soon as I knew I was pg as they made me sick last time. Boobs are growing rapidly, I will soon be up in the attic searching out maternity bras, don't think I will show for a while due to large wobbly belly still from last time. So although am pg I am still suffering from bump envy.

Norms shes probably resting on the sofa or in bed, I hope shes ok.

A parent of one of my mindees has already asked what am I planning on doing after the birth , I understand they may be worrying about childcare but come on I'm only 6weeks.

compo · 26/01/2006 19:26

Hellkat - fingers crossed for your scan tomorrow, thinking of you xxx

puppy · 26/01/2006 19:31

Hellkat, I have just read your postings on another thread, good luck with the scan tomorrow, will be thinking of you.

hugs

homemama · 26/01/2006 19:33

Hi everyone, thanks for your concern Norms, sorry I haven't checked in yet, but it hasn't been a good day sickness wise. In fact I haven't stopped vomiting all day. It's strange because I'm still compelled to stuff my face in between whereas last time I just couldn't eat at all. I'm sure the eating is making the sickness worse but maybe it will keep me out of hospital.

Oh and I'd be more than happy with another son. Two lads, close in age much be easier than daughters! I know, I was one!

Norms, I'm sure they wouldnt give you the drugs if they thought they'd harm the baby. I waited til I could take no more last time but may have to take them earlier this time as I have DS to think about.
Cori, You sound like you're one of us this time!
Hi to everyone else!

calvemjoe · 26/01/2006 20:47

Norms, my bum is a strange hue of purple and green today, thanks for asking.
The gods seem to have a problem with this pregnancy as when I was taking ds to his swimming lesson this morning some idiot (really want to use a stronger word) just drove into my car. There followed a stressful day at a & e being poked and proded and argued over as half the docs thought i should be admitted and the other half thought I should be sent home to rest. Ended up telling me to go back if I get any bleeding - really, cause I thought i'd stay at home.....
Am now going to buy large portion of cotton wool and a big inflatable ball and incarcerate myself in it for the next 7 months!
Norms, I'm glad you started taking the drugs, hope they work quickley and that the vomitting ends soon.
Hellkat, Good luck for tomorrow, will be thinking about you x

compo · 26/01/2006 20:49

oh no calvemjoe!! You are having a run of bad luck! Hope you are putting your feet up and being looked after xxx

calvemjoe · 26/01/2006 21:03

Dh has gone out but i've had a lovely hot soak and i've got my feet up now. I can't beleive it tho. I feel like such a klutz even tho I know it's not my fault. If he has done anything to hurt my beanie I don't know what i'll do

HAPPYSLAPPY · 27/01/2006 00:17

Hi there.I am also 5 and a half weeks pregnant with my third child. I'm really pleased that you are pregnant again after your MC,my best friend suffered an mc on xmas day 2204 at 12wks gestation-seemed even more cruel as she had been trying for a second child for the last 6 years! However, like you siw months later she was pregnant again and is due in 8wks time. Best of luck to you

homemama · 27/01/2006 10:18

Morning everyone,
Still very sick today although mostly wretching probably because I've been eating less since yesterday evening.

Puppy, are you as sick today? Surely your mindee's parents should at least wait until you're past the 12wks! I don't think you have to tell them anything until about 24wks (or something like that) so they can at least wait a little while.

Lol at you stealing your DS's biscuit, Compo! When I was pregnant with DS, I felt so desperate to eat one day at work that I just delved into the confistcated snacks at school.

Normsnockers, have the drugs had any effect yet? What I found last time was that they stopped my being sick but not feeling sick so in some ways I didn't get that 5min relief I had gotten from throwing up. (sorry if TMI) Hope you're doing better today anyway!

Hellkat, are you having a scan today? If so, good luck!

Calvemjoe, you sound like your due a run of good luck. I'd say sit down and rest but I bet your bum aches!

Hope everyone else is bearing up!

Glad the medication is starting to take effact norms.

Yep Homemama feel just as sick as yesterday I have hardly eaten anything, not as been sick though, ate a tin of tuna just now, I have even rung ds nursery and told them I wouldn't be bringing ds in this morn as a one off just wanted to lay on sofa curled up, so a relaxing day for as I only have one mindee at 3 till 6

puppy · 27/01/2006 12:11

thats fab benjaminsmum glad it went ok.

compo · 27/01/2006 12:19

brilliant news Benjaminsmum and have just read on another thread that all is well with Hellkat Very of all these scans - I want one!!

Coriander73 · 27/01/2006 12:44

Hey all,

Feeling crap today although managing to eat & yet to be sick... Midwife came over yesterday, we agreed on due date being the 15th although we'll be dated at the scan. Seems different this time round. Obviously am very happy etc but it does feel a little more relaxing in the sense that "been there, done that" IYSWIM??? MW did say I'd have to be consultant led care too due to the cesaer which I'd not thought off but that was it really. She's booking me in for scan which hopefully will be in 5 weeks when 12 weeks (that seems a long way off right now...!!) She did also say that it's likely the sickness want go at 12 weeks but stay around for a few more after....grrrr...why do they have to state the obvious?!!!

Trying to stay positive....
