Hi, I am five and and half weeks pregnant with baby number two. However I had MC last July at six weeks so very nervous as well as excited. I am due a six week scan on Friday to check if all is well so far. Because of this we haven't told anyone except my parents which is really hard as last time we told all the family but it was a strain listening to their attempts at sympathy when it when wrong. So here I am to announce to anyone that cares to listen that after six months I am pregnant again!! Yeah.

TopBanana · 25/01/2006 16:36

Only 7 weeks!! Feel tired but no sickness, headaches or anything

Had no sickness at all with my first pregnancy!!

HellKat · 25/01/2006 16:42

I'm 7 wks tomorrow and feeling pretty good. Eating like a horse though lol. Bet you're over the moon!

Coriander73 · 25/01/2006 16:50

I am 7 weeks tomorrow & throwing up like a trouper....

You're lucky!!

HellKat · 25/01/2006 16:52

Same due date as me Cori. You poor thing. So, so glad I dont suffer. Anything helping to ease it? I've heard ginger, seabands etc.

cupcakes · 25/01/2006 17:46

Hello everyone. I'm 8 weeks tomorrow - due on the 7th Septamber. I've just started feeling sick this week. Will type more when I haven't got a 2 yr old screaming at me!

Woodelf · 25/01/2006 18:02

Hellcat, seems like things are really difficult for you; I think for anyone thats had mcs before you're torn between wanting to get excited and not quite daring to.
Feeling really sick quite a lot and tired/headachy too - didn't have this so much the last time but comfort myself with that it's supposed to be a good sign that may the beanies a keeper...
Hard to pretend at work though cos I did a presentation this morning and my brain is all over the place and I look knackered... Don't get much time to post but good 'sticky dust' wishes to everyone

TopBanana · 25/01/2006 18:16

Just wondering, what kind of birth are you all planning?

I quite fancy a water birth.

Micku5 · 25/01/2006 18:47

I'd love to have a water birth but unfortunately that option is not open to me. I have to have a elective c-s.

Has anyone else got scans booked? Is it true that you only get offered one scan now or does that vary from hospital to hospital?

kreamkrackers · 25/01/2006 18:54

i've not heard that and i wouldn't have thought they could only do one scan. the early the dating scan is performed the better the results and the detailed scan can only be performed after about 18 weeks. i know i'll need an extended detailed scan as dd has lots of health problems including a very complex cardiac condition (caused from a genetic condition which luckily me and dp don't carry).

compo · 25/01/2006 18:56

Some authroities do only offer the 20 week scan but not where I am. Haven't had a scan date yet. I want an epidural again birth wise!!!

Micku5 · 25/01/2006 19:03

I had the dating scan and the one at 20 weeks last time but that was almost 3 years ago so I wondered if things had changed as DH's cousin was only offered the one at 20 weeks.

benjaminsmum · 25/01/2006 20:03

Here we have a scan at twelve weeks and twenty weeks, but having had previous mc I also had one at six weeks and one again tomorrow which will be eight weeks and five days.

Also hoping to have a 4D scan if we can find the money, anyone got any experience of these?

As for birth plan I am trying not to think that far ahead yet until twelve weeks are out of the way safely! Although birth last time wasnot too bad it was the next six weeks that nearly killed me.

O.K, i'll just offer one more time incase any of you currently feeling ill missed it.
I have seabands i bought a week ago and they do nothing for me but i know other women swear by them. If anyone wants them, cat me your e-mail and i'll send them . (free)

I've been thinking a homebirth would be lovely but i'm worried i'd scare the other 2 with the noise. My mam said last time i gave Birth that i didn't sound human!!

kreamkrackers · 25/01/2006 20:43

btw, there is now a due in september 2006 stats that i've created if you want to add your details.

HellKat · 26/01/2006 07:18

Morning all.
Hope everyone's well this morning.
feeling very, very healthy today (apart from being knackered).
I've had one scan so far because of bleeding (could'nt see much) and have another booked for 9 weeks. Normally here they're at 11-12 weeks and 20 wks but if you've had previous mc's or any worries, our epu will scan you anytime. they're wonderful.

7weeks today

Woodelf · 26/01/2006 08:45

Morning all!

Feeling disgusting and getting ready for work... chopping fresh ginger and adding hot water is the only thing that seems to be helping and it's not easy to be discreet and pretend it's for the digestion

6 weeks tomorrow and counting

HellKat · 26/01/2006 08:49

So sorry Wood, hope it eases soon x

mabel1973 · 26/01/2006 10:44

Hi everyone

just been reading though and catching up.
As far as I'm aware I get a scan at 12 and 20 weeks, just waiting for my scan date to come through from the hospital.
My midwife told me I was ideal for a home birth, but I don't think I fancy it, am too nervous about something going wrong, or me needing more pain relief, so thinking about a water birth, I felt totally out of control last time, so I want to feel like I'm a bit more on top of things this time.

Awww norms, your poor cat lol, hope they find something to help your sickness.

I got caught out this morn having just had nausea till now.
Collecting DS from nursery, I had 11mth old mindee in arms and crossing road after picking DS up so hands full.Managed to get to car DS got in , I had to quickly sit mindee on floor then it happened luckiy into a grate I was parked next to. Can't face any food and now dreading the next school run, I do 3 in a day. So I really have sympathy for you norms and homemama and can't imagine how it must be for you Hugs from me.

Hows everybody else today, I'm going shopping later for some tracky bottoms as I am bloated and feel its too early for maternity clothes yet as I am only 5+4, they'll be for just around the house.

Normsnockers - sorry you're so ill. And everyone else suffering. I managed to get ds to the library for an event today but felt awful and it was so cold. I had to eat some of his biscuit and have some of his squash too so the other mums must have thought I was a right pig!!

katiejane68 · 26/01/2006 13:08

Sorry Norms laughed out loud at the cat bit - everyone at work is staring at me strangely now.
Sickness not too bad, but I'm starting to get emotional. Crying to husband last night and this morning that I can't do this for much longer and I'm only on week 6!!! Re scans, I had my early one yesterday, but wouldn't normally have one until 12 weeks and then 20 ish. I too have to have a special detailed one to see if baby has heart condition that DS1 was born with. Hoping to take 'big brother' with us to the next scan at 12 weeks to tell him that a baby's in mummys tummy. It's been so hard not telling him. People at work being quite considerate since they found out so I'm glad I told them.
