Hi, I am five and and half weeks pregnant with baby number two. However I had MC last July at six weeks so very nervous as well as excited. I am due a six week scan on Friday to check if all is well so far. Because of this we haven't told anyone except my parents which is really hard as last time we told all the family but it was a strain listening to their attempts at sympathy when it when wrong. So here I am to announce to anyone that cares to listen that after six months I am pregnant again!! Yeah.

Morning girls.
Cal- Owwwwwww. Ohh you're going to have a lovely rainbow coloured rear in a day or two hun. Beanie should be fine. They're so cushioned at this stage. Have a chat to the mw if you have any worries.
Angel-Glad I'm not the only weirdo
I've only done it twice so far but both times i had a great experience from. The second hurt like hell though because I was induced and Pethidine did'nt work. Lol had fast furious contractions and no pain relief but the plus side, felt absolutely amazing afterwards, very euphoric.
Heartburn kicked in yesterday so glad I've got Rennies in the house and have a feeling Spd is rearing it's ugly head but apart from that feel very blooming .
Have a great day all x

HellKat · 25/01/2006 06:21

Puppy- Just saw the last bit of your post. So far with this pg I've bled for 2 weeks with only 3 days off. Also passed clots (tmi sorry ) and had very bad pain. Also had bright red bleeding. Had a scan and the hcg bloods done and everything looked fine. It is very worrying but try not to. I was told this would probably end in mc last weekend and touch wood beanie is hanging in there. Good luck for your test hun x

Hi everyone, glad to hear most of you are doing well, congrats to newbies. I have logged on to clear my head in a way. My mw booked me the other day and since then my head has been buzzing. I had a horrible birth experience last time and really wanted to have a home birth this time. I have recieved a form with a list of criteria for booking low risk and it states that if you have a BMI of 30 or above you are high risk and need to book with a consultant. My mw didn't work out my BMI but said they would do it when I go to ante-natal clinic for booking bloods and scan. I worked out my BMI myself using a tool I found on the internet.I am apparently BMI of 29.8. My ANC appt is not for another 5 weeks yet and with my current intolerance for healthy food I am sure it will be over 30 by the time they weigh me. On the form it states the need for heparin injections after delivery because of increased risk of thrombosis and all sorts of horrible things. I reaaly didn't want any unnecessary intervention this time. I was perfectly ok last time until I went into hospital. I just want to be allowed to get on with it my way. Do you think I am being silly? The stress of this is not doing me or the baby anygood at all I am sure.

Morning...the last two days have been yucky. Been really sick, took the day off yesterday because I just couldn't get my head of the pillow without wanting to throw. Made it in today though...feel slightly better & have developed craving for orange juice....

Very tearful last night as DH was less than sympathetic...the house is a mess, he's trying to do up the kitchen, washing everywhere & I hadn't even got the bin in after the dustman had been (his words)!!!! I told him that I'm grateful & I know the onus is all on him etc but it want be forever so a little love & understanding wouldn't go a miss please!!!!!

It's amazing how much weight I've lost since being sick...I don't have much of a belly anymore...even DH said this morning.."Where's Beanie?"....pleesseeeee

kreamkrackers · 25/01/2006 09:23

curlygirl - i'm sure it's only for your own saftey the bmi being 30. i think i might fall into that catagory, i never lost the weight i gained from having dd. did it say whether people are still allowed to bf if given heparin? could you perhaps try a different hospital than the one you were in last time? if given heparin how long do you have to stay in hospital for?(hopefully you won't need to stay in too long) tbh i would rather go in hospital than risk my life to have a homebirth but that's just my opinion. maybe you should start a new thread on this and see if any women with a bmi of 30 have managed to have a successful homebirth.

curlygirl · 25/01/2006 09:32

Thanks, I think I will!

homemama · 25/01/2006 10:21

Morning everyone! Well I should have kept my mouth shut because I woke up at 5.30 this morning unable to move because I felt so sick. Luckily DH got DS up and dressed before he left but I still had to manage his breakfast.

I spent nearly an hour wretching over the bath with DS getting increasingly bored and hitting me over the head with his toothbrush. Then he started saying 'yum, yum' (telling me he was hungry) and by the time we made it downstairs he was crying his heart out, just stopping to whimper, 'yum, yum'. It broke my heart.
I gave him a bottle of milk, a banana and 2 ricecakes and let him get on with it. Couldn't face feeding him cereal.

I'm starting to feel that it was a very selfish decision to get pg again when he is so young and we have no family support.

Sorry to go on, hope everyone is doing ok today. Calvemjoe, how's your bum?

normsnockers - dioralite is a great way of replacing the salts lost through vomiting. we put dd on it when she's ill to try to stop her going in hospital everytime. i've tried it and don't like it but i would have it if it was to keep me out of hospital. it's a powder you mix with water and you can get it from most chemists.

kreamkrackers · 25/01/2006 10:54

homemama - hope your feeling better soon. it wasn't a selfish idea and once the sickness wears off you will see the positive sides of having two close in age.

Coriander73 · 25/01/2006 10:55

Hi Normsnockers,

My heart goes out to you!

When DH put DD to bed last night I just sat in the lounge sobbing...just so fed up & thinking how can I do this again? What have I done? & of course feeling really guilty for having those feelings....this morning I do feel better but not great..just want to drink orange juice..have already had 5 small cartons...maybe I'm overdoing it but I figure get the fluid in even if I do bring it back up later.

What other foods would you recommend? I just don't fancy anything.....

puppy · 25/01/2006 11:00

Thanks for replying Hellkat, Sorry to read that you are having a rough time , good luck and lots of sticky dust to you.

compo · 25/01/2006 11:34

Morning everyone. I feel really crap to - it's reassuring to know everyone else is in the same boat. I feel fine just after eating so I'm eating loads at the moment But this morning I woke up with a stinking headache - has anyone else had this? I took paracetemol as I think I remembered you can take that but not ibruprofen? Does that sound right? Bit annoyed that I've had no contact with a midwife - they are not to kow that i know what I should be eating and not eating etc. It makes me think of people who don't/can't read, don't have access to the Internet etc.

kreamkrackers · 25/01/2006 11:45

compo - yeah it's safe to use paracetamol. can't use ibuprofen as i think it contains asprin. have you tried 4 head? that's all i use even though it's safe to take paracetamol i don't (until labour pains start!).

compo · 25/01/2006 11:47

thanks kreamkracker!! I can't remember getting any headaches last time i was pregnant so hope it's not a bad sign of anything. God, I can't wait to have a scan to stop all this worrying!!

kreamkrackers · 25/01/2006 11:52

i had constant headaches throughout the whole of my last pregnancy and i have a feeling it's going to be the same this time. they seem to be there all the time but then get really bad at points. however, i suffer with a lot of headaches when i'm not pg so i guess i'm used to them. i don't think they worry about headaches at this stage of pregnancy it's later on but tell mv anyways. i think blood pressure is low in the early weeks which can cause the headaches but it can get high later on in pregnancy and that's when they worry (i think so anyways but to be honest i can't fully remember!)

Hi Everyone - sorry havent posted for a while - its taken me ages to read through all your chat!
Sorry Julezboo about your bad news - will be thinking of you.
Im glad to hear some of you say your stomachs have already started to get a bit bigger (some days mine really sticks out!) Have been feeling a bit queasy but not thrown up yet. Can also sympathise with having excess gas!!! Hubbby is finding that most amusing!
Finding it difficult to stop eating all the things Im not supposed to. I know some advice says not eat peanuts but what do others think? Im still munching crunchy nut corn flakes!
Got date for 1st scan - 20th Feb (cant wait till then so I can start to tell people - fingers crossed!)

HellKat · 25/01/2006 12:45

Thanks Pup!
Eating for England here, thank goodness mainly healthy stuff atm but lots of it . Had a mad craving for cherries this morning so grabbed some gorgeous ones from Sainsburys along with some blueberries. Bunged them in the blender with a banana and soya milk and that was mid morning snack. Then polished off roll mops lol now got a pizza on. I'm gonna end up huge.

calvemjoe · 25/01/2006 13:30

i'm stiff, aching and black and blue but beanie seems to be ok. DH thinks the rainbow on my bum is hilarious!
I've not got any advice for those of you being sick, but i'm thinking about you all and hope you manage to find things you can eat and keep down x

katiejane68 · 25/01/2006 14:11

Hello ladies, well I had my scan this morning . All is well baby in the right place, only one (thank goodness) good heartbeat. Dates are about right too, so that makes me 6 weeks. Was so reassuring seeing the little blob on the screen. Not feeling too bad so far today. Eating way too much though, had toast this morning (with marmite), stopped at McD's for a sausage n egg mcmuffin after the scan. Just met friends in my lunch hour for a chinese! Not surprising I'm busting out of my clothes!!!

homemama · 25/01/2006 14:50

Sorry didn't reply earlier, DS is 14mths so not that little but still young enough to need my constant attention.

Well I managed to eat today but all I could stomach was the tupperware of chicken chasseur in the fridge. It was huge with 3 chicken breasts in there. DH had made it up last night for a quick tea tonight but I had to eat it all!

Normsnockers, so far it is different this time as although I feel very sick I also feel able to and desperate to eat. I'm going to end up the size of a house this time!

Katiejane, glad the scan went well. I want Mcdonalds!

Kreamcrackers+Compo, the headaches are awful, you have my sympathy.

HellKat · 25/01/2006 15:06

Congrats on your scan Kate.

TopBanana · 25/01/2006 15:08
