Hi, I am five and and half weeks pregnant with baby number two. However I had MC last July at six weeks so very nervous as well as excited. I am due a six week scan on Friday to check if all is well so far. Because of this we haven't told anyone except my parents which is really hard as last time we told all the family but it was a strain listening to their attempts at sympathy when it when wrong. So here I am to announce to anyone that cares to listen that after six months I am pregnant again!! Yeah.

p.s, congratulations to all the new girls!

Micku5 · 23/01/2006 12:11

Normsnockers, don't worry I suffered...... the birth was hell. I don't think I should go into details because it will put me off again but suffice to say that my consultant recommended the next baby i have will hvae to be delivered at 36 weeks by c-section.

Coriander73 · 23/01/2006 12:28

Hey Homemama...I feel for you! I'm at work, having spent half the morning with head down the toilet..although just retching, can't seem to be sick..sorry if TMI...my heart goes out to those that had HG (been reading up) & were bad for 9 months. I thought my life was bad last time but at last it went after 16 weeks. People that don't have any sickness just don't realise how lucky they are but equally we're just dead envious that they're not suffering!!

Tried healthy option this morning & have been nibbling nuts, raisins & clementines but alas have made me feel much worse. So I've just had a piece of pizza which has suited my constitution much better!!!! I hate this period I really do & although I've been trying positive affirmations it just doesn't make you feel better at all....spoke to the MW today & she's coming over on Thursday....

Coriander73 · 23/01/2006 12:30

Oh & BTW...it's now hit me more than ever why I said NEVER EVER AGAIN!!! Grrrrr

kreamkrackers · 23/01/2006 16:22

i had no morning sickness with dd or the pg i had the mc with to be honest i'd love to be sick a few times as it's a good sign of a strong healthy pg. although it wouldn't be ideal whilst looking after a 20 month old. i do feel sorry for the women who are continuosly sick, my dd has gastric reflux so i have to deal with her being sick about two times a day usually and that's everyday.

lol Normsnockers!! We had friends over on Saturday night and we always have wine so I had to slyly pour half my glass down the sink and fill it up with water so as not to arouse suspicion. Watered down wine is not nice!!

puppy · 23/01/2006 19:02

Sorry to hear some of you are off colour,

My body is making me a nervous wreck, Had a small amount of spotting again yesterday, that is one episode of spotting in the evening for the last three sundays and today I am cramping its stronger and the back ache has returned. grrr can't wait to have a scan to see if alls well.

compo · 23/01/2006 19:05

you poor thing. Fingers crossed for you - will they do an early scan if you're spotting?

puppy · 23/01/2006 19:08

I'm waiting for an appt to come through for my scan, gp said that it would be next or the following week.

homemama · 23/01/2006 19:21

Oh I hope everything is ok Puppy.

My HG only lasted until about 16wks last time so I was lucky as I know many women have it far worse for far longer. At the time though, you have no idea how long it will last and you just lie there with your head constantly in a bucket trying desperately to keep down some water so as not to end up back in hospital on a drip. After 12wks you get really upset and depressed because everyone has told you it will stop then.

At least I'm able to be at home and we've now arranged for DS to go to a childminder on a short term basis. She is our neighbour so he'll only be across the road.

homemama · 23/01/2006 19:23

Micku5, I think I would go for an elective CS if I'd had a horrific time last time. You wouldn't want to go through pg with that anxiety hanging over your head.

calvemjoe · 23/01/2006 19:37

Puppy, I hope everything is ok for you and i'm sending positive thoughts your way.
Normsnockers I didn't get any sickness last time but I had 5 migraines a week so I think they make you suffer in one way or another, and I'm making up for it this time, I can only eat potatos.
Hope every one is ok and hanging in there. We're getting through it and the end is getting closer every day.
By the way i have a small but very definate bump! this is what you get for putting of the crunches!

katiejane68 · 23/01/2006 20:24

Evening ladies. Don't know if this is a weird co-incidence or not, but couldn't face swallowing the huge pronatal multi vitamin this morning, so went without, and have to say really felt so much better. Still a slight sick feeling but better than the last few days. Only want to eat real british home cooked food IYKWIM, roast dinners, mashed potato, shepherds pie - all real healthy stuff . Getting very funny strtching pains across my tummy, it's definately growing already. Told people at work today as I can't hide it anymore. Two days until the scan!

HellKat · 24/01/2006 08:11

Hi all.
I've been lurking for a while, far too nervous to post. I'm currently 7 wks and edd roughly 11th Sept. I've had so many probs so far with this pg, hence why I've not posted before but decided whatever will be will be so here I am.
I've had 1 scan already (could'nt see too much), bloods for suspected ectopic and bleeding & pain. Touch wood it's eased off so I'm going to try and wait until I'm 9 wks for the next scan (lost our last baby at 8wks last April). Trying to not to freak at every little twinge etc lol and just trying to enjoy it. Luckily no morning sickness (never do thank goodness) but boobs are huge (in maternity bras already) and have a teeny, weeny bump. Oh and the pg headaches are a killer but relishing in it all the same.
Me- 30 (31 next week )
Dp- 25
ds1-13
ds2-21 mths
4 previous mc, been ttc since April last year.
here's to happy healthy rounded bumps and wonderfully easy pg's!

Angeliz · 24/01/2006 09:55

Does no-one want to try the seabands then?

kreamkrackers · 24/01/2006 10:04

sorry i'm not interseted as i'm suffering more with tiredness and very bad headaches. now starting to get sore boobies which is a strange feeling as they feel the same as when i was expressing for dd whilst she was very poorly in hospital having her heart fixed (only managed to express for 3 months as dd kept losing weight from breast milk and was put on to a special milk called infatrini). i'm hoping to bf fully this time until teeth start to come through (yes i am weirdly thinking that far ahead already!) been looking at double buggies already and i love one i've seen in mothercare, it's called the jane powertwin tandem 3 wheeler stylon, it's £350 so i'm going to have to start saving now.

puppy · 24/01/2006 10:14

Morning all

Welcome hellkat and good luck with your pregnancy.

Thanks for all the well wishes. Some of my symptons have eased off now (they did do early when pg with my ds)and the cramps are not so strong now, no more spotting since sunday ,its funny how it had just happened the once on each sunday, Still feel so tired though.

HellKat · 24/01/2006 10:14

Lol Kk.
Not even thinking of buggy's luckily here, still got ds2's wonderful comfy black one.
No thanks Angeliz, thankfully I don't get sickness. Just headaches, spd, sciatica

mabel1973 · 24/01/2006 10:15

congratulations hell cat
puppy hope everything is fine - I have back ache too. MW told me it is my ligaments softening and because i"ve suffered with my back over the years (had 2 riding accidents) and sciatica with DS all the aches and pains are all coming out of the woodwork!
I was in denial at the weekend, but there is no getting away from it, I have got a small bump too!
Jeans still ok - ish but my tops are starting to ride up....a trip to H&M's maternity section is in order....ALREADY!!

HellKat · 24/01/2006 10:19

Thankyou very much for the lovely welcome Puppy & Mabel.
I know the feeling of not being able to hide it much longer, I'm starting to resemble a gorilla (boobs sagging onto a huge tum ). I'm still slim just have a prefectly rounded pudge. God knows how big I'll be at 12 weeks. I did'nt show with ds2 until I was 9 weeks but the last pg I was showing at 8 (guess it gets shorter everytime).

kreamkrackers · 24/01/2006 10:28

i can't wait until i have a bump but i might not notice it as i do have quite a bit of a belly left over from when i had dd. i'm just looking forward to everything though, the scans, the kicks, seeing the baby for the first time (not looking forward to the labour though!). i think i'm getting too obssesed already! i'm just so excited but i know i shouldn't get this excited until i know all is well.

puppy · 24/01/2006 10:35

I also can't wait for a bump and I love feeling the movements, I already look like I have a bump as when i put weight on it goes on my front and looks like i'm pregnant, was planning on loosing weight before I caught on, too late i'll have to work on it afterwards.

mabel1973 · 24/01/2006 10:37

KK you can't help but get excited! but like you I am also not looking forward to labour, last time I was in blissful ignorance and didn't worry till about 2 weeks before I was due, this time I'm worrying already!

sabrinaandjayden · 24/01/2006 11:10

hello everyone, apparently the hard lump is a hernia, doctor not very helpfull, did not give me any info about implications in pregnacy. i guess that i will ask at the antenatal clinic. has anyone had a hernia before. and can you have surgery while pregnate??
