Hi, I am five and and half weeks pregnant with baby number two. However I had MC last July at six weeks so very nervous as well as excited. I am due a six week scan on Friday to check if all is well so far. Because of this we haven't told anyone except my parents which is really hard as last time we told all the family but it was a strain listening to their attempts at sympathy when it when wrong. So here I am to announce to anyone that cares to listen that after six months I am pregnant again!! Yeah.

sabrinaandjayden · 18/01/2006 11:39

yes that my due date, some calculators have me down as the 11/9 but counting from the first day of last period (6/12) its definatly the 12/9.

other mums with children already, any advise of when to tell a three year old?

katiejane68 · 18/01/2006 11:42

Wow so many of us already. My date's right for now. Sat at work feeling a bit nauseaus today. Nibbling often helps, savoury stuff rather than sweet. Will try the polos though.

TopBanana · 18/01/2006 11:43

Thats right for me, thanks

Coriander73 · 18/01/2006 11:48

I've just had some roast potatoes with brocolli...felt so queasy once I finished that I reached for the polo mints straight away...seems to help but I don't think my teeth will hack another few months of this....

Just keep trying to remain positive as it does get better!!!!

compo · 18/01/2006 11:50

Hi everyone. Still no nausea but I've got a constant sort of blocked feeling at the back of my throat. Not sure if it's indigestion. Was in Boots today looking at pregnancy supplements. Did you know that Santogen doesn't have the 400 recommended daily allowance of folic acid in it, only 350. I was quite ed at that. I bought Pregnacare. A box of 90 is £12.79 BUT if you buy 3 for 2 with the boxes of 30 it's only £9.98 - hope that makes sense, thought it might help somebody if they hadn't already stocked up.

katiejane68 · 18/01/2006 12:07

compo I bought the Sanatogen ones at the weekend, and didn't notice that, oops . Unfortunately I bought 3 packets on the offer too. Thinking about it they say that these ones are suitable to take all through pregnancy and whilst breast feeding so maybe that's why the dosage is less - just wish I'd looked a bit closer.

Coriander73 · 18/01/2006 12:07

I'm just taking Tesco's own folic acid...with DD I happened to be in Sainsbury's & got theirs!!!!

How's it going Compo?

SnowmAngeliz · 18/01/2006 12:12

sabrinaandjayden, we told our then 3 year old pretty quickly (or at least before others knew) as i was sure someone would slip up and i wanted her to find out from us. I didn't talk about it all the time then though as 8 months is forever when you're 3 i think.
It was lovely at the end though, she used to come in the bath and wash my bump and the baby always kicked her off
She'd also lie in bed next to me in the morning and say'the baby is awake' when she started kicking. It's a lovely age gap.
This time dd2 will only be 18 months so that'll be a whole new experience!
Coriander, i felt ill most of last week (when i would've been what you are now) so maybe you'll be better soon. I got some sea bands today just incase.
I've just had sardines on toast. mmmmmmm

There are loads of us aren't there?

Coriander73 · 18/01/2006 12:16

Hope so but it lasted until 17-18 weeks with DD...urghhhhh

compo · 18/01/2006 12:17

I've just been taking Sainsbury's own up to now but I'm not great at eating enough fruit so thought the extra vitamins might help!! I also bought a few smoothies too. Hi Cori

homemama · 18/01/2006 12:28

Thgose dates are right for me!
I'm taking pregnacare. Last time I had to stop at 7wks because I simply couldn't keep anything down let alone huge nasty suppository (sp?)looking things!
Are the own brand folic acid just as big or can you get them as little white tablets?

compo · 18/01/2006 12:29

I had the same problem last time!! The Sainsbury's brnd are just little white tablets, a bit like the pill

Coriander73 · 18/01/2006 12:39

Yep, Tesco's are little yellow ones..blink & you'll drop them!

puppy · 18/01/2006 12:44

my edd is correct although some say the 24th depending on if they use your cycle length to calculate.

I keep having nauseous feelings on and off, eating really helps.the smell of cheese and onion crisps really turned my stomach yesterday.

I'm taking morrisons own folic acid, coming to the end of the tub so going to look at pregnacare.

SnowmAngeliz · 18/01/2006 12:45

think i've gone off meat too, dp cooked me a fillet steak the other night and just the smell....bleargh!!!

My date is right too, (well she said the 8th but wrote the 7th so......)

Micku5 · 18/01/2006 15:07

Hi all........ Nice to know there's someone else going off meat. I am gutted that I can't have hot (chilli) food. Bang goes those Indian and Thai takeaways.

The date you got for me is correct (last LMP was 21/12) but what is confusing is that one website says I am 5 weeks but another says i am 4. I'll have to wait until I see my midwife at my booking in appointment and see what date we agree on.

benjaminsmum · 18/01/2006 17:12

Hey Corriander missed me!! I am the 3 September.

Visited midwife today, had to wait twentyfive minutes for appointment for her to basically say she will call me next week to arrange to come to my house for a booking in appointment! What a waste of time with a dh and ds in tow.

Still feeling v sick although only been sick the once so far. Only thing I know works is eating little and often. Not so good for the diet though.

Since mc I have lost one and half stone although still not quite down to what I was pre-ds and I should have been a bit less than that then! Hoping excersise wiull keep too much fat at bay.

Cori, you missed me off the list - I'm due 05/09/2006.
Had my scan on tues and my 7 week old beanie has a heartbeat and all is well. I have a cyst which they said is what caused the spotting. Felt very sick for 2 weeks but it has subsided a bit now as long as i keep my blood sugar up. I too have gone of meat and can't take my pregnacare. I am really just eating potatos!

compo · 19/01/2006 09:23

wow, it must have been amazing seeing your baby on the scan! Anyone else having trouble sleeping? I've got this permanent acidy feeling at the back of my throat that I don' remember having lasst time. Don't want to resort to the Gaviscon just yet!!

Angeliz · 19/01/2006 09:30

compo i'm afraid i've resorted to Gaviscon already (starting last night). I have no problem sleeping if i'm allowed but dd2 is a right little wriggler at the moment!

puppy · 19/01/2006 09:36

I also have the acid in the back of throat I also had it when I was pregnant with my son.
I did have trouble sleeping last week but I think that was because I was sleeping so much in the day as I was really tired.

Coriander73 · 19/01/2006 09:44

Million apologies to both Benjaminsmum & Calvemjoe!!! I scrolled down & really thought I had written them all down...sorry..

Feel quite crap this morning...sitting at my desk eating slicies of pre prepared apple from Tesco...it's just to keep that horrible taste & feeling away!!!! Forgot my polo mints though...arghhh
