Hi, I am five and and half weeks pregnant with baby number two. However I had MC last July at six weeks so very nervous as well as excited. I am due a six week scan on Friday to check if all is well so far. Because of this we haven't told anyone except my parents which is really hard as last time we told all the family but it was a strain listening to their attempts at sympathy when it when wrong. So here I am to announce to anyone that cares to listen that after six months I am pregnant again!! Yeah.

congratulations to new recruits I'm 31, had ds when I was 29. Haven't told anyone as a bit superstitous until the scan but might tell my sister as she knows we were trying. A few people know we've been trying so they'll probably guess (especially down the pub!). No nausea here but did have that metallic taste yesterday which was very reassuring!! Going from the first day of last period i am 6 weeks today - woo hoo!!

only 6 more weeks til the scan! I'm still waiting for the midwife to contact me.

katiejane68 · 17/01/2006 13:54

I used the pregnancy calculator on the BBC Parenting web-site, which was pretty clear. It says I am 5 weeks (from 12th Dec) EDD 18th Sept.

benjaminsmum · 17/01/2006 14:07

Congrats to all newcomers, Woodelf-fingers and toes crossed for you, micku5, puppy and katiejane.

Mabel it must be something about Tesco. I was sick in their toliets yesterday - the first time this pregnancy. Feel quite sick again now. It appears to be an afternoon thing. Fine this morning whilst at excersise class.

I am being sick at the same time as last time - seven weeks. so prehaps you ladies have it to come in a few days!

I had an early scan to reassure us that there was actually a baby there and so far so good, they couldn't do anything about it if not but at least we would know.

Got in-laws staying this weekend and we don't want to tell them yet so I am already trying to work out what may have given me food posioning!!

benjaminsmum you made me laugh! Thinking about you trying to concoct some tale about getting food poisening from sainsbury's taste the difference lasagne or something!

I am seeing my midwife tommorow morning - so looking forward to that...will let you all know how it goes!

katiejane68 · 17/01/2006 17:22

Anyone else full of wind!?! I feel like I could burp for England . Apart for some tiredness and a bit of nausea, plus a heightened sense of smell, I'm OK really. I guess it might hit me in a few days, it did with DS.

Does anyone know if it's OK to take Rennie - I've really got to get this gas out, I might be able to do my trousers up then!

Coriander73 · 17/01/2006 19:13

Am feeling really queasy....eating a whole packet of polo mints seem to help today but just can't bear the thought of having head down the toilet again...

Has anybody put on weight yet? I seem to have gained a sticky out tummy really quickly this time...don't know whether that's down to eating more carbs or that as everything is already streched..it's just more visable?!!

Mabel, let us know how you get on tm?

compo · 17/01/2006 19:14

Hi Cori. I feel so fat as didn't lose all weight since last time around and ds is nearly 2!!! Still not really got any symtoms. Wish I felt nauseous really!!

Coriander73 · 17/01/2006 19:22

OH Compo...I know how you feel cos I felt the same now I wish I hadn't wished it!!!!! I just haate the permanet yucky taste I have in mouth it's driving me insane but I suppose it's a sign things are going on? This happened with DD until I was 17 weeks last time & the thought of all that again...it's funny how you forget!!!

I had lost most of my weight but not all so am carrying some from DD & am sure it's cos my diet has gone berserk. All I want is stodgy food...although I did have a salad last night!

DO you feel excited at all? I have to say that whilst I'm happy it does feel, at the moment, different from last time......I do worry about loving another as much as my daughter...they say you do but I just can't see it at the moment

compo · 17/01/2006 19:24

I feel really excited which worries me in case things go wrong. I even got some of ds' newborn clothes out of the cupboard today to see what I've got And I told my sister. Kind of wish I hadn't cos i don't want to jinx anything and also she wanted me to tell my mum so she'd have someone to talk to about it but I was like 'no not yet'!!

Coriander73 · 17/01/2006 19:27

Compo, I've told too many people but not all! I couldn't help myself this time. Last time we were really cautious but I've been more open this. Haven't told a lot of the famuly yet but a few friends that's all...more than my DH would have wanted...he's the pessimist!!! All will be ok. you'll see!

compo · 17/01/2006 19:28

thanks. I think I'm driving dh mad. Just hope the next 6 weeks goes quick. Dh wants to tell his mum but I've forbidden him to because i know she'll start buying stuff which will freak me out even more!!

Coriander73 · 17/01/2006 19:31

I know...I don't want to have anything new until near the end...DH is worried that if we have a boy I'll be a woman possesed spending money on baby blue boy clothes...so he's hoping it's another girl so we can try & get out money's worth!!!!

I FEEL REALLY SICK TODAY....

katiejane68 · 18/01/2006 09:55

Sorry to hear that Coriander - I feel a bit worse today, but I'm eating a giant cookie so can't be that bad yet.

puppy · 18/01/2006 10:01

awww coriander, hope you feel better shortly, ginger biscuits are supposed to help
Well I have had to tell the parents of my mindees because the children lioke to hit me with cushions, jump on my back for piggy rides (really like play fighting) also i am so tired at times that I have had to let them have free choice more, parents were over the moon and happy with how more free choice time.

TopBanana · 18/01/2006 10:17

I was really sick this morning too Couldn't even eat my cornflakes!!

homemama · 18/01/2006 10:23

Hi everyone!
Still not really sick and getting worried as I had HG last time but maybe still too early. I'm 5wks today. EDD 21/9/06 Seems a long time away.

Really worried about how to look after a toddler when so sick. Looking into a short term nanny. Can't think of any other options.

Coriander, sorry you're sick now. Probably this time next week we'll all be there. (Not that that helps you! )

Hope everyone else is well.

mabel1973 · 18/01/2006 10:50

Hi everyone

sorry you are feeling poorly coriander - just think this time last week you wanted to feel sick! I am getting a bit of nausea in the evenings but nothing too bad.
MW came this morning to book me in, she did bp and took some bloods. everything was fine and she told me I was an ideal candidate for a home birth - yikes! This is something I have never considered, I would be too scared of something going wrong - has anyone any experience they can share with me?
My EDD is 8th sept - however I have a feeling this may change at the dating scan as i wasn't too sure of my dates.
I am suffering with my back already (had sciatica towards the end with DS) and she told me that this is my ligaments softening up and it is likely to be like this all the way through now
although there is a possibility of being referred for acunpunture ( I saw a physio last time which was pretty useless really).
Anyway - hope everyone else is ok and not feeling too sick! X

Coriander73 · 18/01/2006 11:03

That's the thing..I wished it on myself because I was worried that I wasn't feeling sick!!! DOH!!! At the moment haven't actually chucked but just starting to feel really bad as I was with DD. Jumped out of bed this morning as DD was crying & oh my God...felt so bad. The only thing that helps so far is sucking on polo mints....!

Can't bear the thought of anything ginger as overdosed on it last time....have found just eating now & often is kepeing it slightly at bay...but only just. makes me retch drinking water & brushing my teeth!!!

Grrr....on & up girls on & up....
