Hi, I am five and and half weeks pregnant with baby number two. However I had MC last July at six weeks so very nervous as well as excited. I am due a six week scan on Friday to check if all is well so far. Because of this we haven't told anyone except my parents which is really hard as last time we told all the family but it was a strain listening to their attempts at sympathy when it when wrong. So here I am to announce to anyone that cares to listen that after six months I am pregnant again!! Yeah.

Glad the sickness isn't too bad yet, Normsnockers. I'm starting to feel queasy when I open the fridge and I can tell it's coming IYKWIM. It's quite depressing actually to know what's coming, I'm just so worried about looking after DS. I'll show DH the joke!

It's interesting about the acid thing. I have lots of mouth ulcers at the moment and the acid in my mouth is stopping them healing. I'm prone to them the week before my period so last time I didn't have them when pg but so many things seem different this time. I've now fainted 3 times and constantly feel faint. Didn't have that last time.

Calvemjoe, it must be a relief to know everything is well this early! Are they just going to ignore the cyst?

Cori, hope you manage to get some polos at some point!

homemama · 19/01/2006 10:49

Norms, have you been told that HG gets worse with each pregnancy? Theaccounts on the blooming awful website seem to suggest this! Yuck!!!
BTW, thanks for the DrFoster stuff, was really helpful!

sory to hear so many of you are already feeling sick. Last time I had it for about 3 weeks around week 7 but it was during a very hot August so thought the heat might have made it worse. I remember running off to the loo to throw up during my bookign in appointment with the midwife!!!

katiejane68 · 19/01/2006 13:32

Hey guys, feeling very sick today although not actually been sick. Keep telling myself that it's a good sign, but having trouble keeping positive. Not sleeping too well, keep getting really hot (I'm always cold). It's hard to act normal at work when I'm feeling so rough. Thinking it would be easier to tell people so that I don't have to put on an act. The guys in the office all had breakfast rolls this morning, bacon, egg, sausage, etc, god the smell how I didn't puke right then and there .Have to say my DH is being a star this time. Last time he was a bit shell-shocked by the idea of becoming a dad, but this time wow different man.

Coriander73 · 19/01/2006 14:17

I've just had a 10 min sleep on the chairs in a hidden corner near my desk..I'm sat next to a colleague who knows & I just said "I've got to put my head down NOW!!!"...so she threw her coat over me & fobbed people off if they went near!!!

Bless, she's off to buy me some polo mints!!! Other colleague keeps saying..what's with the polo mints?!!.....yes I keep trying to remain positive but it's hard when you feel so pooey...& am only 6 weeks in!!! Last time it lasted unitl 18 weeks....urgh

BTW what does HG mean?

mabel1973 · 19/01/2006 14:59

you all sound so poorly - is it only me that's not throwing up? (I know I should be grateful, but I feel like I'm missing out!!!!)
Apart from a bit of nausea in the evenings I am not getting any sickness at all.
I have gone off chocolate though - which is probably not a bad thing seeing as DH works for a very well known chocolate manufacturer!!

compo · 19/01/2006 15:19

don't worry Mabel I'm nt even nauseous! Haevn't really gone off any food just got this acid thing in my throat. Sort of hoping the sickness hurries up and comes!!

Coriander73 · 19/01/2006 15:29

Ai...Compo.....don't wish it on yourself!!!!!! It's gross

mootoo · 19/01/2006 15:31

God you lot can chat! Sorry not had chance to log on.
Have been to docs, they didn't test me or anything, and am due on 8th Sept. Have been feeling tired and a bit nauseuas (SP!) - my theory is when i was pregnant with DD i worked, so struggled through the tiredness etc, but now i am a lady of leisure i seem to spend most of the time feeling sorry for myself! Oh and i can't stop eating.
I am 7 weeks today - i can blurt out thenews in 5 weeks! Can't wait!

katiejane68 · 19/01/2006 15:32

compo, mabel - you really don't want this sickness I am green that you haven't .

cori that so made me laugh, what a great workmate you have.

On well back to my polos!

homemama · 19/01/2006 16:51

Cori, HG stands for Hyperemisis gravidarum. It's an extreme and aggressive form of morning sickness that leaves you unable to function let alone eat. Most sufferers end up in hospital at some point.
It is truly awful and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. Give me labour anyday!

calvemjoe · 19/01/2006 19:58

Sorry everyone, I keep on posting early then falling asleep and missing you all!
Compo; it was amazing seeing my beanie and a good strong heartbeat and it has really helped me to relax about every niggle on the left side cause I know that is the cyst. I've been having trouble sleeping too, just keep all of a sudden being wide awake and I'm so tired during the day.
Cori; I forgive you for forgetting me- although in my hormone induced state it almost had me in tears, but don't feel bad, everything has me in tears these days!
Homemamma; it is a relief to know everything is going well. They said a heartbeat at this stage has a 96% chance of becoming a baby and that felt like good odds! They said they will ignore the cyst until baby arives and then deal with it then if it is still there, said they are quite common around ovulation and stay for longer if you fall pregnant.
For those of you surviving on polo's have you tried peppermint tea? I can't stand it if you brew it according to instructions but if you leave the teabag in till it is cold it makes a good polo substitute and is better for your teeth!
Is anyone else on a 2nd pregnancy and developing a bump already? I'm definatly getting a roundness and I can't hold it in. I didn't show till 24 weeks last time, maybe the elastic goes quicker 2nd time round!

julezboo · 19/01/2006 20:16

Hiya girls

Im afraid its not good news from this end, i have a blighted ovum, (sp?) I will miscarry just a case of when, we went for our second scan today and pregnancy sac was just a sac and the same size as it was last week, my hcg levels are also dropping slowly.

Me and dp are feeling positive though we have been referred to a recurrent mc clinic so we should get answers and they will be able to help us next time round. We will be taking a break for 6 months + so we have come to terms we wont have a 2006 baby but i hope we will be up there to have a 2007 baby

i want to wish you all the very best of luck with you beanies and please take care of yourselves

Julie

julie I don't know what to say to you - I am so sorry. I wish you all the luck in the world at your referral. You are an example to all of us for staying so positive. Thank you. I will try not to moan so much about the sickness in future.

peepee · 19/01/2006 20:47

julezboo, I am so sorry. It is hard but u will get thru this. If u wanna talk pop over to TTC after mc thread anytime. I know what u are feeling. I have had 5 m/c in just over a year.

Julie, I am so sorry. I can't believe how strong you are being. Best of luck and the warmest of wishes for your future attempts xx

homemama · 19/01/2006 21:58

Julezboo, I'm so sorry for your loss.
You sound like you have been through so much but I'm sure your DS must bring you such joy and keep you hopeful.
Good luck with the tests, I truly hope they find something that can help next time.
I will look out for you when you finally decide to try again.
God bless x

puppy · 19/01/2006 22:02

Julie I am so sorry to read this and good luck to for the future.

sabrinaandjayden · 19/01/2006 23:21

so sorry to hear your news.

Woodelf · 20/01/2006 08:24

Julezboo, so sorry about your m/c; that's exactly what happened to me last year. Do get referred on though to a specialist- even if they can't give you exact answers it's reassuring to be investigating.
I have appt with recurrent mc specialist because i've had three, but of course am pg again so hopeful but daren't believe it till it really progresses. Anyone see last nites prog about this? really interesting if hard for me to watch.

normsnockers, if it's any consolation i'm probaby the oldest of all, currently 42! DP is 45 and no little'uns as yet.... much delay in starting the family due to breast cancer some years back, the chemotherapy and treatments really bugger up your hormones!!

kreamkrackers · 20/01/2006 08:55

julie - so sorry for your loss and i hope everything goes well for the future.
