Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
pokemommy · 01/11/2011 13:33

I suppose it is not happening to them so they are not as constantly reminded my it as we are.
FC my dp seems to be even more excited than me if that is possible. He melts any time he sees baby clothes and that was before I had taken any tests! I suppose everyone is different.

greengoose · 01/11/2011 13:48

Hi all, Well, Im back from EPU and ITS GOOD NEWS!!!
I only needed a 'belly' scan, and she found the baby and the heartbeat straight away..... I cried, and made her show me again twice just to be sure, and there it was beating away!
My dates are a little out, I am actually 8+5, so that has changed due date to 7th of June. I am so excited.... I can maybe start to enjoy this now! The baby was 22mm crown to rump, which is fine, but somehow a lot bigger than I thought it would be, and you could kind of see the head and body shape, but no detail. She said it was all in the ideal place, no sign of anything moving south or coming away, so she reckoned all was good.
I then went to the shop and cried over the baby stuff I unpacked... not very professional, I hope no one looking in from the street saw me!

Thanks for all the support over the last few days, its been so lovely to have you all here when its been so stressful, and family are crap and friends dont really know yet, it really helped! Thanks

Warin good luck with your scan tomorrow, I know how hard the wait is, but its worth it!

JJ take it easy if your not feeling so good. I get anemic during preg normally, and it can leave me dizzy. Do you get enough iron? Is there any in your suppliment?

Ceeej nice to have you back! (although v. Envy of Singapore)! I need to do the little and often thing with food too, although I should work harder on the 'little' and less on the 'often'!!Grin

Xandrass your fridge sounds far healthier than mine, I just cant face food shopping at the moment, and my body is craving carbs, which I need to deal with or Ill be a blob in no time. Last baby I craved broccoli, this time its anything in cheese sauce or fried Confused.

misslaughalot · 01/11/2011 13:55

greengoose that is the most amazing news! Grin

I'm excited for you! Now put your feet up, relax and enjoy this beautiful day!

ellybett · 01/11/2011 13:57

Hmm, cheese scones. Am on a major carb yearn at the moment except as soon as I start eating I'm full, would love to crave fruit and veg but no luck yet!
kveta I've been exactly the same with drinks, can't face anything at the moment and then eend up necking a pint of water and peeing all night! I can't go near tea or coffee at the mo.

goose thinking of you. Fingers and toes crossed.

Sympathies to all those with sickness. Esp those with other dcs. Worst thing for ms? A nice full nappy just for mummy! We've decided to hold off on potty training for a little bit, dd is stubbornly refusing to entertain the idea of actually weeing in the potty although likes to read her books on it then wee's on the carpet right next to it! Decided to give it a few more weeks until I have a bit more energy to tackle the issue!

Florin · 01/11/2011 13:59

greengoose congratulations! Brilliant news, had a feeling it would be good news for you!

Dalrymps · 01/11/2011 14:01

Sooo thrilled for you greengooseGrin what a weight off your mind!

Time to relax and enjoy nowSmile

Oh, you have the same due date as me now (until my scan changes it of course!)

Kveta · 01/11/2011 14:01

yay greengoose! that's fab!

I am alternating between dreading my scan and getting hugely overexcited about it! my friend had a mc at about 6 weeks earlier in the year, then got pg again and found it was a mmc at the 12 week scan, so I am shitting bricks that the same thing will happen to me. Not sure why it would, but you know how you read something tentatively associated with you and automatically assume the same will happen to you? No? just me being a loon?! I sometimes read horrific stories in the news in which a child is the same age as DS or has his name (more common than you might think!), and just start having immediate nightmares that I will therefore experience the same thing Hmm

feeling rough just now, as colleague has just brewed large pot of coffee next to my desk, bleurgh.

ellybett · 01/11/2011 14:04

X post greengoose yay! Fabulous news, congratulations!

Kayzr · 01/11/2011 14:06

Greengoose that's great news!!!

pokemommy · 01/11/2011 14:11

Kveta I am also looking forward to it and dreading it. I think my worry is that while I haven't had the scan then everything is potentially all fine, however, once I have had that scan then the results, good or bad, are definite. fingers crossed we are all fine though

x

pokemommy · 01/11/2011 14:12

Congratulations greengoose I am glad your scan went well xx

MammaInTheMaking · 01/11/2011 14:20

fabulous greengoose!!!!!!!

i've had a whole 750ml carton of Innocent smoothie 2 days in a row as soon as i get to the office. Am hoping this is all good stuff for Blubes?

JJ i hate cheese so that's not a craving for me, but the croissants is really playing on my mind so think i'll have to nip into tescos on the way home. I've got this awesome raspberry jam in the fridge at the mo which goes with croissants sooooo well. mmmm, i want some!

misslaughalot · 01/11/2011 14:25

pokemommy that's exactly how I feel too! My scan isn't until December 9th, and I really want to get excited about being pregnant, but feel I'm in for a big fall if I do that and the scan doesn't go well.

Fingers crossed is all we can do I guess!

biglips · 01/11/2011 14:36

Grin Grin greengoose

Warlin · 01/11/2011 14:38

goose that's fab news!! So pleased for you!

I'm sick with nerves about mine tomorrow. Want so much to come away feeling like you do but terrified it won't be good news. I'm like you kveta and keep reading stories...have seen loads about people going for their first scan and the baby has already died. This is our first and we werer TTC for a long time so I would be devastated....fingers crossed all will be fine.

I@m carving carbs too......hula hoops are my fav at the minute! 9 months of this and I'll be a blob! And haven't been to gym since I found out either!

biglips · 01/11/2011 14:47

got 7 days to go to see my midwife. (1st appointment) and ive gotta take dd2 (i just hope i can leave her here at home with her dad) to my 1st appointment. But dont know as yet. If i do, ive gotta think of summat.....thinking of a very sore belly and need to listen to my heart (even though it be the baby's heart!...but she's only 3!! lol) (midwife doesnt uses her doppler till way later...in the next few weeks maybe as the first time i heard dd1's heart, i was 7.5 mths and then with dd2 it was slightly bit earlier, about 5 months, so I'll be 7.4 weeks pg when i will see her again. (also ill ask the midwife to not mention the word of "baby").

so got no date for my scan yet but i usually go in when im 12 - 13 weeks....about 1 - 2 weeks before Xmas and ill tell the girls inc my Dsd on Xmas day that we are expecting.

my family doesnt know yet as im planning to tell them next week when im 7 - 8 weeks.

i found another cheapie ebay pg test stick in my drawer so managed to test myself again and its sooo dark. Smile

Welcome to the newbies

(will catch up on this thread later when im feeling abit more alive!! as feel so drained poss not eating enough as i feel full quick and sick if eaten and if hungry i feel the same!!)

Miniangel · 01/11/2011 14:50

Greengoose great news. I am so happy for you.

Warlin All the very best for tomorrow. I am sure all will be well.

My boobs have grown alot. I went to mothercare yesterday and was amazed at the size the bra fitting lady said. Also, finally got the sleep bra. Thanks to someone for sugesting it, my boobs hurt so little after sleeping in it.

MammaInTheMaking I am also living on innocent smoothies. Hope Peanut and Blubes appreciate it.

MammaInTheMaking · 01/11/2011 15:03

mini snap on the smoothie then! it's 100% fruit so can only be a good thing i'd have thought. Figure i might as well pack my body with good stuff while i'm lucky enough not to be vomming.

Warlin loads of luck to you. I hope you can join in with the positive scans.

So pooped, can't concentrate on work but have a meeting at 4. Really need to snap out of this 'mind fog'.

pokemommy · 01/11/2011 15:29

Well one of the apps I use recommended smoothies as a good way to get around not eating enough fruit and veg if you are off food.

I am hoping for winter bringing back Innocent Honey Lemon and Ginger smoothie... it's my favourite!

JjandtheBeanplusPud · 01/11/2011 15:31

green that's FANTASTIC I am so so pleased you you Grin

Well I went to get a cheese scone and the cheese smells overwhelmed me :(, ill stick with croisants I think :)

Good point about iron. Just taking folic acid atm but will have a look at pregnacare or the like. Feeling so exhausted and run down, and nauseous I could cry. I just want to sleep.

ellybett · 01/11/2011 15:51

Hmm, smoothie. I am definitely going to have to pop to the shops. Once the afternoon nausea subsides, sat breathing heavily at my desk, subtly!

pokemommy · 01/11/2011 15:56

btw speaking of smoothies... innocent's facebook page has a jackpot machine giving away vouchers... if you gift enough of them instead of keeping them it eventually rolls round to a free smoothie not just a money off

TeaandHobnobs · 01/11/2011 16:47

greengoose fantastic news, so happy for you Grin

Carty80 · 01/11/2011 17:18

green yay what great news! Grin

warlin good luck tomorrow, fingers crossed all is well.

Everyone else...have a lovely evening, hope you get some sleep and keep some food down!

Dinner and bed for me! xx

ecstatica · 01/11/2011 17:25

Greengoose I'm soooo, soooo happy for you! And almost shed a tear at your unpacking baby things (but did laugh at prospect of onlookers) :)

Smoothies?!? Milk....bleugh! But good news, I kept 2 clementines down AND a waffle smothered in mozarella with lightly fried mushrooms in olive oil, some sliced tomato, olives and sea salt [shame] -- no tea or coffee, I drink it by the gallon normally but can barely keep the morning one down now.

Anybody else's DC seem to be more demanding than usual?
Also, is anyone struggling to sleep with the stretching/achy pains? I'm not even comfy sleeping on my side need a pillow but surely all too early for this, or is it? Can't remember.

Any plans for Nov 5th guys?
I'm thinking it might be a waste of money to do scan on Saturday, pls encourage me to go for it!

Good luck for scans this week.
