yes, the old 'pregnancy is not an illness' line. Well, true for some, less true for others. I have felt absolutely ghastly now for, what, 3, 4 weeks? Exhausted, sick, loss of appetite, constipated, achey, weepy. If you had those symptoms without a bun in the oven, you'd be at the GPs daily until you got a diagnosis.
DH and I (when not snapping at eachother!) have decided at last what we're doing for christmas. My parents have been nagging us to go to them, but the thought of a 12 hour+ drive (only because the M6 is a bitch) with a narky toddler in the back, in potentially shitty weather, has been putting us off (we did it when DS was 12 weeks old and it was horrendous). Then my elderly grandmother (think Margaret Thatcher but more right wing) wanted to stay with us, but we don't have room, so looking for a B+B near us -nowt available over christmas now, we have left it too late. then we were muttering about FIL coming, but last time he did, the weather meant his flight was diverted to Liverpool (we are near London!) then bus down to us - all without him speaking a word of English, at the age of 62, in a blizzard. He doesn't ever want to travel again.
So now it looks like it will just be the 3 of us, and I have decided on a menu (czech main course that we had at our wedding!) followed by trifle, because I love trifle. No turkey, no christmas pudding, no Queen's speech! A copy of Muppet Christmas Carol to watch and a nice long walk with DS in the morning to wear him out whilst the meal cooks. I can't wait!! Getting all excited about it already :o
