Not to be sick

JjandtheBeanplusPud · 31/10/2011 21:24

I'm having chronic head aches, I didn't take any meds whilst pg with the other two but I can't not this time, paracetamol is taking the edge off it a bit.

The aches etc have dulled thankfully.

Had a sudden urge for croisants tonight, thankfully I was in asda at the time [hgrin] --ive just snarfed down five, fat pig--

Dcs loved trick or treating, dd showed me up mildly by saying sweets please instead of trick or treat, luckily we only visit people I or mum know so they found it funny.

Me and dp aren't doing so good right now, we need a talk I think.

How's everyones nausea? I'm finding EVERY smell that isn't a really nice one sets me off with at the very least a brief wave... Just opening the food cupboard set me off feeling weird, it only contains pasta/rice/tins...Hmm

thedogwalker I reeeeally hope these next 6months sail by for you, we will keep you company, do you have family/good friends close by?

I wants another croisant....

Kayzr · 31/10/2011 21:34

thedogwalker I really feel for you. My DP is away for 5 weeks and I find that hard but 6 months is really horrible. Please use us to talk to and moan to etc. We don't mind at all.

SarahBumBarer · 31/10/2011 22:04

Blush horrible Thedogwalker - certainly puts me being a wet blanket on a Saturday night when DH has to work in pespective

Sorry that you are struggling with your DP JJ Hope you have a good chat and work things out.

JjandtheBeanplusPud · 31/10/2011 23:14

We will get there, were one of those couples that either love or hate, he's mr anxious about dc#3 I'm a ball of excitement --and can't seem to shut the hell up about babies-- so were clashing slightly.

I could kill mil for making him feel so unloved and unwanted its made him convinced our dcs will feed the same :(

He needs to realise we are us and they are very very lucky children who have a mummy and daddy who care so much! Unlike me and him who got slightly 'forgotten' when a new husband and new dcs came along.

Ah ignore me I'm rambling.

Who ever it was who mentioned names? I've decided on a girls one Blush and have boys considered.

Anyone subjected to 'cravings' yet? I've had sudden wants, ie croisants and horlicks, but nothing consistent yet.

Xandrass · 01/11/2011 00:04

Aw JJ hope everything feels better soon. My DP is worrying about everything and doesn't want to talk about anything much :( he's getting better by each day though, I'm hoping the scan might excite him more.

SeriouslyStrongCheddar · 01/11/2011 06:58

Morning all!

thedogwalker - very rough being apart for 6 months. You know where we are whne you need to chat.

Jj - I'm sure a chat will help sort things out, as you say. Hope it gets sorted soon so you can both enjoy the pregnancy.

So, was helping DH make breakfast & lunch and he sent me to sit down in the lounge...apparently standing retching over the kitchen sink doesn't actually count as helping Grin.

Feel pretty rough this morning and have a challenging day ahead of me at work, then back home before having to go out this evening to some training for some volunteering I do. How I will stay awake until 9pm I don't know! Have asked DH to drive me to the training & pick me up though as I'm not quite sure where it is and I really can't face being knackered and trying to find my way there or home!

Fingers crossed the midwife calls today so I can get a booking in appt sorted - not bothered if it's not for a couple of weeks, just need to feel organised!

green - hope you get your answer today. Thinking of you.

See you later folks!

Florin · 01/11/2011 07:58

thedogwalker hope the time passes quickly for you.
We weren't discussing names but heard a boys name on Saturday night and we just looked at each other and knew it was the one.
Got my next scan on Friday hoping its ok as if so after that feel we can relax a bit.
green good luck with you scan this morning, I will be thinking of you
We are going to try and find out the sex if all goes well, dh was so against it before I was pregnant but as soon as I was he said he was desperate to find out. For me it's a practical thing I don't want to buy a load of neutral things only to be excited by what we get to then want to buy lots of boys/girls things. Think it will help bond too. Not sure if we will tell anyone else though

greengoose · 01/11/2011 08:15

Morning all, hope you got some lovely sleep!!

Today i have a removal van coming at 9.15, just after the school run, to take all the new shops fittings and stock out of my conservatory (where they have been for months) to the shop.

Then I have my scan to find out if MCing or not.

Then I have to go to shop, tell my partner the news, and unpack crates of rattles and baby slings and bibs and toys and things. I was v. excited about all this finally happening, but dont know how to cope with all that baby stuff if its not ok.... bad choice of shop idea Im now thinking!! (I was so pleased about the discounts Id get)!! Serves me right.

Anyway. Enough me me me. (And it might still be ok)!

JJ my Oh has lots of stuff about parenting from his M&D, its so sad isnt it? Mine werent so hot either really. Our kids are so lucky, but its so difficult to think you are any good at this parenting lark at the best of times, without any added complications.... We probably over do it if anything just to prove we are different from what we had... But you just have to look at our boys to see how happy they are (bias Mum Talking here)!

Dairymps Hope you have a better day today/ had a good night.

Ellybett Congrats on 6 weeks!!

Teaandhobnobs Id have really struggled not to eat sushi...my favorite! Have a look at the NHS food guidelines I posted a couple of posts ago.... seemingly all sushi from shops or restaurants is fine, as its made with fish thats been frozen first, hence all nasty bugs are dead! This is new since my last pregnancy. (Its ok to make sushi at home too as long as you freeze the fish for a bit first, same with prawns etc)

ecstatica · 01/11/2011 08:34

Morning :)

Greengoose - good luck today x

TheDogWalker - Hugs, you're a very strong woman, I take my hat off to you, Must be equally hard for your OH, hopefully this next 6 months will fly by. All here for u x

JJ - LOL at your croissant binge craving :) Am very jealous that you kept it down. I can only seem to keep toast down at the mo!

Xandrass/JJ - men are such strange creatures Hmm -- My OH washed the dishes on Sunday and made everyone pancakes (no record of when this last ever happened) after our little 'chat', I just didn't honestly intend to cry so much.

SeriouslyCC -Sounds like a busy day ahead, I seriously LOL when I read about your kitchen help :)

Dalrymps - How r u today? I totally sympathize. U r welcome to take up the other sofa and moan here :)

Florin - I said i would wait but asked at each 20week scan -- i did tell people but won't this time. I know that when i tell anyone i'm PG they'll ask if we were trying for a girl (I have 3 boys) so will keep it hush. And i'm already convinced this is DS4. Sounds like u may have a name there!

Kayzr and SBumbarer - big wave!

Hope me didn't forget anyone. Off to start packing some boxes - hopefully not puking in them x

growyourown77 · 01/11/2011 08:53

Thanks for that food link, greengoose. I've been avoiding all feta, goats cheese and have overcooked my steaks, so I'm delighted that I can eat them if they are pasteurised and can enjoy a medium steak this weekend! What a shame I'm still can't face the glass of red wine Wine that would just set it off nicely!

Dalrymps · 01/11/2011 09:14

Morning ladiesSmile

Greengoose good luck for today, will be thinking of you.

My headache has gone and I'm back to my normal level of sickness today. Still pretty grim but at least I can just about manage to watch the boys.

Sympathies to all those not feeling/sleeping well. We'll all soon be blooming I'm sure..

Miniangel · 01/11/2011 09:33

It took me a while to catch up. Great name for the new thread JJ. Sorry haven't been posting as have been extremely sick. I have now been off from work for 7 days (all of last week and this week).

Good news is that I had my booking in appt on Sunday and I got bloods done. I have a date for the scan as well. I am happy that I know the right due date due to visiting the EPU so have everything booked at the right time otherwise everything would be 2 weeks out.

I was physically sick during my booking in appt so they didn't give me the flu jab so have one booked tomorrow.

Kayzr and Millv I agree totally and was quite shocked to read (quite a while back now) that pple lie to get a scan at EPU. Thankfully at St. George's anxiety is a good enough reason.

Greengoose Good luck for today.

Rrrrayray · 01/11/2011 10:10

Morning ladies

Greengoose - thoughts with you this morning.

Unfortunately my nausea has turned into actual sickness this morning Sad

Kveta · 01/11/2011 10:53

hi all, hope today goes well greengoose

I am also very sick today, it isn't helped by DS deciding that the only person in the world he can possibly poo in front of is me, so he has been holding it in until mummy is free to change the nappy. Cue lots of vomiting from me.

I could really kill for some fruit loaf at the moment, but can't find any on campus at work.

Is anyone else getting very sicky burps? I know it sounds gross, but only way I can think to describe it. Basically very gassy, but with added bonus of tang of sick in back of throat each time.

I am really struggling to drink enough at the moment - I don't drink tea or coffee anyway, have totally gone off anything fizzy, and plain water makes me chuck for some reason. Lucozade is too fizzy now, so I'm stuck with watered down apple juice or squash basically. It's hard at work, because they obviously cater to the coffee/tea-drinking side of the market, and don't pander to us fussy folk!! I'm also struggling to drink anything at all in the mornings, even at home, so am getting most of my fluids in the evening (so piddling all night long!!) But combined with the vomiting, I am feeling incredibly dehydrated. Just trying to make sure I get as much liquid as possible when I can, so lots of soups and hot choc in the evenings!

ceeej · 01/11/2011 11:00

Morning all, just back from Singapore, quite a lot of catching up to do! We told my parents and they were delighted, glad we did as I started getting nausea in the second week which would have been difficult to hide. Telling the in laws at the weekend, they've been hinting that they'd like grandchildren so will hopefully be a positive response.

My nausea seems to be directly related to hunger, eating gets rid of it but I'm also getting full really quickly so basically switched to having many small meals/snacks. Symptoms so far are reminding me very much of being hungover, I seem to have lost my ability to control my body temperature which was fun as it was baking hot outside and air con freezing inside, nice to be back in the permanent cold of the UK.

We've got a private 8 week scan booked on Thursday, hopefully that will put my mind at rest a bit, I'm not normally a stressy person but currently can think of nothing other than the pregnancy.

greengoose best of luck for the scan, hope you get to enjoy unpacking the baby things

hope everyone's symptoms ease up soon, sounds like some of you are going through a horrible time :(

Xandrass · 01/11/2011 11:04

Hope the scan goes well Greengoose

Bought loads of fruit and veg yesterday, havn't been eating much veg and fruit at home the last few months, can't remember the last time the fridge looked so 'fresh'

I'm sure I've already gone up a bra size!

JjandtheBeanplusPud · 01/11/2011 11:25

Good luck today green xxx

MammaInTheMaking · 01/11/2011 11:51

JJ - Totally with you on the croissants. I had to get a pack on Saturday morning. DP was going out of his mind at how much i was going on about croissants. Anyway they've all gone. And now my 'thing' is scones!

MammaInTheMaking · 01/11/2011 11:51

No sickness for me at all. 1 week 1 day til my dating scan! I think i'm 8+4 today :)

JjandtheBeanplusPud · 01/11/2011 12:23

Mama now I need a cheese scone Envy I managed to save the final three for breakfast it was so worth it.

I had a funny turn last night, its totally knocked it out of me, ehem me and dp were "fooling around" when suddenly a wave of nausea hit me and I got terribly hot and the sweats and a bad headache, then fell asleep. Hmm woke up feeling the same so had a snooze on the sofa with dd woke up feeling slightly better.

Warlin · 01/11/2011 12:23

Hi All

Good luck today greengoose and sorry for your stress dogwalker. The time will fly though and on the bright side you can lie starfish on the bed :)

welcome back ceeej.

I have my first (private) scan tmw evening and am getting very nervous. I keep dreaming that there's no heartbeat. I'll be 8 weeks on Fri so not sure what they will be able to see but consultant only does Wed and is away next week...plus was eager to get in asap. I also have an NHS scan next Thur so might still go to that anyway. Just so scared that there will be bad news tmw :(

I feel fine, just really tired and my boobs are big and sore :) DH mentioned this morning abotu going for pizza tonight and I thought I was going to puke!

Can't concentrate in work, all I can think of tomorrow nights' scan

pokemommy · 01/11/2011 12:46

lol okay this explains why I couldn't find my reply... it mustn't have posted because the last thread was too long... not even sure what I wrote to everyone now. Mainly thanks for the welcomes

I had my booking appointment last Friday and I am due for my dating scan on 21st Nov. Was kinda hoping that the first appointment had the scan in it... shows how new I am to all of this.
Me and OH saw the most disinterested dad2b at the scan... almost had his whole back turned to m2b in waiting room and had headphones on listening to music... surely that isn't the norm!!

Feeling hungry today !!! How is everyone else feeling?

pokemommy · 01/11/2011 12:48

Greengoose just read back on everyones messages. Good luck for today xx

JjandtheBeanplusPud · 01/11/2011 13:06

Pokemummy, that's to sort of thing I can see dp doing this time Hmm for pfb he practically vibrated with excitement, with no.2 he was a bit meh this time he's, whatever :( he's a brilliant dad and adores them both so I just let it wash over me...
