hiya, had scan today, and have 1 baby, with heartbeat! measuring 10+5 so a wee bit behind previous estimate, but perfectly within reason!

midwife/sonographer was lovely, told me my uterus tips back so scans won't be easy at this stage, so i asked for the internal one, and all went well, without me peeing everywhere!! generally a positive experience :)

got to go back in 3 weeks for nuchal scan though, but feeling happy here today!!

friedfrog · 14/11/2011 17:34

Kveta congratulations what a wonderful feeling you must have :)

I have my booking appointment tomorrow which I am a little nervous about, I am worried they will tell me something is wrong......did anyone else feel like that?

Also had a bra fitting today and have gone from an E cup to a G cup.....!!!! How has that happened already!

Afternoon!

Well I've had my booking appointment, the MW was lovely, although not guaranteed to get her every appointment, apparently I should see no more than 3 so will have to wait and see.

I have been put under consultant care as j have a bicornate (spelling) uterus so should be having a letter this week for an early scan before a 12 week scan, I really want a scan soon now just so we can see the little one!

Other than chatting and filling in my notes she just took my blood pressure and I had to pee on a stick for protein I think?

All good apparently?

Hope everyone else has had a nice day! Xx

Rrrrayray · 14/11/2011 18:42

Kveta - lovely to see your little one. I too have a retroverted uterus. Once lifts out of uterus around 12 weeks scans no longer a problem.

So far so good and dinner has stayed down.... I dare not move incase it puts in an appearance! Hmm

SeriouslyStrongCheddar · 14/11/2011 18:57

Evening all!

Congrats to everyone that's had scans & appointments - I've got my booking in appt tomorrow so will be pleased to join those of you 'in the system'!

Well, survived the day despite the lack of sleep! Nausea does seem to be getting better by late afternoon / early evening - hope that continues!

So...big change for me this evening. I've been vegetarian for over two years (as well as for a few years when I was younger) and have today gone back to the way of the carnivore. One Tesco Finest Lasagne later, I'm waiting to see how my digestive system reacts!

Hadn't even remotely fancied meat until the last week or so but have decided to go back to eating meat (and fish) as the fact I was wanting it when I have been so against it indicates to me that my body needs it. I also think it will encourage me to generally eat more healthily (more veg etc). Surprisingly, feel quite comfortable with the decision - and a couple of weeks ago I would honestly have said I still had no intention of ever eating meat again.

Funny thing, this pregnancy lark.

Hope everyone is having a good evening and sleeps well tonight.

Miniangel · 14/11/2011 19:17

Congratulations Kveta and Fubble for your scans. You both must be so pleased. It's great to hear positive news.

mrssears congrats on DD's iq.

I was fine in the first half of the day but sickness returned in the second half. Have been feeling quite rough.

I had to change my scan date as they gave me a date too early (at 10 weeks), it's now on 29th Nov and I'll be 11 weeks then not fully 12. I have to get back to work on 30th Nov so hoping that the nausea subsides then.

mrsshears · 14/11/2011 19:30

miniangel that's the same scan date as me!
I wanted the week before but at our hospital you have to be at least 12 +5 apparently,i think they must do another test at the same time.

Florin · 14/11/2011 19:43

wow everyone seems to be having booking in appointments suddenly! I am having mine tomorrow, can't wait- feel I will be in the system then.
Hoping I will get the date of my 12 week scan then too

openerofjars · 14/11/2011 20:23

Hi all,

Welcome newbies, congratulations on scans and great big high fives to families with loads of babies on the way!

Not much to report here, other than a protruding bump which is getting hard to hide and much less nausea all of a sudden.

12 weeks today, by my count (but maths never was my strong point) and less than a week now to the scan.

Has anyone else got into the silly position of not telling anyone yet and kind of not being able to work out how to go about it? It's not quite as daft as it seems because DS is only 3 and it's still going to be a month or two until I start looking properly bulbous, so we haven't wanted well meaning relatives asking him if he's excited about the baby. But still: "Hi Dad, been meaning to tell you I'm pregnant..." - bit rubbish?

I am terrified I'm just fat, not pregnant, and that I've just been imagining the other symptoms...

Off to catch up properly...

JjandtheBeanplusPud · 14/11/2011 20:45

Evening all!

My milk obsession is getting ridiculous, so totally see where your coming from SSC wrt your body wanting something!

Also white bread and butter.

openerofjars · 14/11/2011 20:48

Crisps. Gotta be crisps.

Kveta · 14/11/2011 20:57

pancakes here :o

openerofjars · 14/11/2011 21:00

Mm. Not sure about pancakes. Bit milky. I cannot drink milk in quantity but butter and cheese, now that's different.

God, I'm going to get so bloody fat.

AIBU to eat four packets of crisps today?

Rrrrayray · 14/11/2011 21:07

Cheese! Extra mature cheddar.

And haven't touched a square of chocolate since before I found out I was pregnant.. And I usually LOVE chocolate!

JjandtheBeanplusPud · 14/11/2011 21:11

Plain crisps, walkers and wheat crunchies were yesterdays need

Glad I'm not alone!

Off to attack a fresh hedgehog loaf and clover, ill attempt some soup with it Grin

thedogwalker · 14/11/2011 21:12

Hi all and welcome to the newbies. You need to find the list and add yourselves to it, so we can keep up to date with the stats. Hope everyone is well today.
I am just so knackered, leave for work at 7.30 and I get back about 6pm and then got to cook dinner for me and DS, then bedtime routine, then clean, when does it all end [looks up to god emoticon for answer]. Still got to do the hoovering before getting DS's bag ready for creche tomorrow and then bed for me. I'm now missing DH like mad and he's only been away for 2 weeks, now only got another 6 months to go, as he wrote to me and let me know that his date for coming home would not be at the 6 month point but 6 1/2, so I feel like I'm right back at the beginning, sorry for little moan there.
Hope to get scan appointment date this week, I want something to look forward to. My craving is danish pastries, just like first time around, or maybe it's just my excuse to eat loads of them Grin, won't be in my 10s for much longer at this rate.
Hope everyone has had a good day, take care all and stay safe xx

openerofjars · 14/11/2011 21:30

OMFG I just remembered we have mini sausage rolls in the fridge. Unless DH has eaten them all.

Squee!

JjandtheBeanplusPud · 14/11/2011 21:40

thedog feel free to moan, I'd be so upset and stamping my feet! Your doing so well though, I am in awe of all the women who manage so well when husbands work away! I crumble at an overnighter

So inbetween the nausea were all greedy for naughty food then, glad its not just me.

Managed some soup, so there's some veg for pud, I on the other hand am enjoying some milka chocolate Mmmm.

JjandtheBeanplusPud · 14/11/2011 21:42

I take waaay to long typing.

Xpost opener, Grin answers my question hehe

Florin · 14/11/2011 21:43

My craving is chocolate and pudding of most sorts I normally hate sweet stuff and would prefer to have a slice of ham rather than anything sweet all very strange! I tell dh I obviously need it!

JjandtheBeanplusPud · 14/11/2011 22:02

Yes you do florin, no the baby needs it.

Dp often quotes the 'royal family' at me, "the baby wants a wagonwheel" Grin

Twiglet100 · 14/11/2011 22:21

Chedder, how are you feeling after the lasagne-fest? I know what you mean about the vegetarianism thing. I've been veggy for about 25(!) years. However, the other day my partner was eating some very poncey pheasant ravioli and I virtually stole his dinner. Very strange.

Question - have others had to confirm their prefered birth choice (home, hospital etc) at their booking-in appointments? I had mine last week and it was about the first question the midwife asked me. Apparently they now have a target to get folk to select the location by 12 weeks. Explained that I'd had 3 previous miscarriages so didn't want to tempt fate until the 12 week scan, which she said she understood. However, she said that there was no point in booking me in/doing the notes etc as hospitals and birthing centres use different forms. Has this happened to anyone else?

On a more positive note I had a 10 week scan and everything is the right size and in the right place - so relieved!

Rrrrayray · 14/11/2011 22:22

Florin - I've got your savoury tooth & you've got my sweet tooth! :-)

Florin · 14/11/2011 22:22

Dh just says that my boy (as dh adore chocolate) and we are both convinced it's a boy. Luckily he is quite complient with my wants at the moment. Think he feels quite guilty that I feel awful while he is quaffing the red wine down!

Florin · 14/11/2011 22:29

Weird all these people suddenly eating meat I am the opposite I normally love it but now can't stand any large amounts. Can manage bolognaise but a roast no way!
twiglet I was asked to choose where I gave birth at my first appointment with doctors at 5 weeks! Can see why you don't want to yet
rrrrayray you're the one who has stolen my savory tooth. I wonder if the foods you crave indicates a boy or a girl!?
