welcome sotam, congratulations :)

Hi thedogwalker lol - yes I was on that thread for about 4 days, before we ever got round to our 'window' we'd decided against ttc and mentally put it off for another year!! I had totally gone past my broody moment and was really looking forwards to more time just with DS, but what can you do? Man plans, god laughs... just goes to show, babies come along when they darn well please - planning goes out of the window!

I've just had a really funny day, my parents came for lunch which was lovely, but I don't want to let on I'm up the duff just yet (waiting for dating scan first) so I had to muddle through, blaming the urgent need to vom on the antibiotics I'm on for a chest infection. I don't think Mum was fooled though. Mothers intuition! She's coming back on weds to visit again (a 2 hour trip!) so I think she's going to try to wangle it out of me then. :)

Kveta · 13/11/2011 18:11

hi new folk :)
pleased to see some good news Kayzr! that's great that you saw your bean!

I am still really rough - looks like bronchitis isn't as cleared up as I'd hoped. My father reckons I have actually had flu, as they have never known me to be so ill with just a cold before, and I have had most of the symptoms. Oh well, I guess I'll never know. Got the scan tomorrow, so am bricking it that whatever illness I have will have harmed the embryo Confused I am so so tired too, as the coughing and fever have had me up pretty much all night every night now since last weekend! paracetamol is no use really. DH is now going down with a cold (probably same one!) and is taking all the Lemsip max strength things so I am Envy at him, whilst he snuffles away!!

My hearing is still borked too, which has the bonus that I can't hear DS moaning as he's going to bed! he refused to nap today, even after a 2 mile walk this morning, so DH took him on another walk this afternoon, and he is KNACKERED. I got him to sit through 2 Wallace and Gromit films though, which makes a nice change from Timmy Time. :)

oh, and apparently it's 6 weeks until Christmas - eek! I had all these grand plans to make christmas presents, and now just cannot be arsed, so am buying stuff. Failure!

Miniangel · 13/11/2011 18:37

Welcome somtam. Congratulations

I have had a compartively better day today after vomitting 9 times yesterday. I felt really low yesterday but DH has been absolutely angelic.

Laughing cow cheese spread triangles are my new weakness. I am absolutely loving the stuff. Did check and it's safe to eat, thank God.

Florin · 13/11/2011 19:12

Oh my god just gone round to my parents to tell my twin sister that I'm pregnant and has announced too she is a week behind me!

JjandtheBeanplusPud · 13/11/2011 19:44

Florin, that's kinda cool Grin I'd love someone close to have a baby the same time as me.

I just had a family get together, my cousin is 11 tomorow, still didn't tell them, just don't have the urge at all, seems two rounds of negative comments has put me right off announcing #3 :(

Feeling teary today and constantly nauseaus too.

greengoose · 13/11/2011 20:00

Miniangel I REALLY want some of the cheese triangles now..... I dont think there is anywhere for about 50miles I have a hope of finding them on a Sunday, and Im not preg. 'enough' yet to persuade DH that its a legit need, so will have to wait until morning! Grin

Kayzr Glad its all fine still with you!!

Kveta You are having a rough time arent you Sad. I hope you are getting enough rest and sleep...? You should have a 'fake' hot toddy with ginger cordial and lemon... very nice.

Florin thats amazing about your sister... twin senses are obviously tuned to each other!! That will be lovely for you both (wonder if there will be more twins)?

JJ sorry your family arent over the moon for you... we all think its great!! It sounds like you need a bit of spoiling, its horrid being sick and weepy.BrewBiscuit ( ginger one, as you are feeling sickly)!

Im going to get an early night tonight, Im whacked!

JjandtheBeanplusPud · 13/11/2011 22:02

Thank you green :) ginger biscuits are actually amazing at stopping the nausea!

I had a heart to heart with my mum and she's said sorry and she's just finding it hard after my younger brother died, she decided to try for one more and has fertility problems, she does still have my brother who is 3 at home but I understand she's hurting, however as a mum I'd put Jack and Lolas feelings way above anything I've ever felt. And have.

Anyone else found they suddenly like things they've never liked before? I'm drinking two pints of milk a day! I hate milk!

ecstatica · 13/11/2011 22:03

Hi girls, quick post from phone as net not on yet. Moved in to new home still vomiting and totally lacking any motivation whatsoever!

K so glad to hear about scan :-)
Hello to all joining, congrats and look fwd to catching up again in the week.
X

JjandtheBeanplusPud · 14/11/2011 00:39

exstatica glad your in!

I moved in july, and january, and the february before. I won't be doing it again, this time I sussed it. EVERYTHING except furniture and appliances/electrics went in the garage and we slowly unloaded from that with out a chaotic house. --were still going--

JjandtheBeanplusPud · 14/11/2011 00:39
  • ecstatica bed time I think :)
SeriouslyStrongCheddar · 14/11/2011 06:32

Morning all!

Welcome to all new folk - sorry I can't name names, but I'm running on minimal brain power this morning!

Well, I've been awake since 4am so suspecting today is going to be a rough day! Quite nauseous already, but I've noticed that if I don't have a good night's sleep the nausea is worse so not really surprised.

Hope everyone has a good day today - see you all later.

Dalrymps · 14/11/2011 08:06

Morning ladiesSmile

seriously Sorry you've had so little sleep, hope you get a chance to rest at some point today.

Well, not much news here. Just felt generally crap all weekend and spent most of it going for naps whilst my total hero of a dh watched the dc's. Can't wait to feel better. I actually felt better last night for about half an hour just before bed, wheres the use in that?!

How is everyone today?

Kveta · 14/11/2011 08:22

peas to stop morning sickness

may be of interest to everyone? not sure how scientific it is, but i cooked peas with every meal over the weekend, and certainly felt less rough after eating them (for an hour or so).

sorry the site seems very wanky, but i am at the 'will try anything to stop feeling this crap' stage!!

Warlin · 14/11/2011 09:18

Morning ladies..

Monday again...yuk!

Kayzr Glad its all fine still ok and that you saw your wee bean!

Kveta Sounds like you are still having a rough time. Hopefully it won't last much longer.

Florin How exciting! I would love even a friend to be pregnant at the same time but a twin is amazing! Think of the fab time on maternity you will have!

JJ sorry your family arent over the moon for you... I'm sure they'll come round once the baby is here.

Well I have had a weepy weekend! Everything just seems to be getting on top of me and I worry about everything. I know I'm being silly but can't help it. Was at my in-laws on Sat night (first grandchild for them so they are over the moon) but everything they were saying was just annoying me (prob the lack of alcohol doesn't help!). Hope my MILs not going to become interferring but I really wasnt' in the mood for her advice.

And I am so so tired....it killed me getting to bed at 1am and I felt wrecked all day yesterday...and then didn't sleep last night...gggrrrrrr.

Is anyone else really thirsty?

I ordered a belly belt of amazon (£14.99 which I thought was quite dear) but it got good reviews and hopefully will make my clothes more comfortable. I just feel fat and horrible at the minute! I@m regretting my clothing choice today...tight trousers and clingy top...didn't feel bloated this morning but know I will as the day goes on. Hope nobody notices!

Roll on chrimbo...can tell everyone then and will hopefully have shaken the nausea and tiredness.

Sorry for the moan.......Monday blues!

green how did the shop opening go??

Florin · 14/11/2011 09:36

warlin I am really thirsty too apparently it's because you are suddenly making a lot of extra blood. Didn't drink enough water yesterday and got an awful headache which I still have this morning. Trying to drink more to combat it as trying to avoid pills. Feeling so sick today. Got midwife tomorrow which I am kind of looking forward to as will be properly in the system then! Hopefully will get my 12 week scan date too

ellybett · 14/11/2011 09:41

Morning all. Had a weekend free of symptoms so of course they had to return first thing on a Monday morning! Just got to breathe through it! Have got my first appointment with gp on Wednesday so hopefully I'll have my date for my scan soon enough.

warlin I'm mega thirsty too. Drinking pints of water during the day, which does me no favours at night, but I've gone off all other drinks, especially tea.

ellybett · 14/11/2011 09:55

Posted too soon! Stupid phone.

kayzr so pleased everything was ok with the scan, hope its all still good.

florin that is such lovely news about your twin. My best friend just got married and I know they want to start trying straight away. I'd love to be pg at the same time as her

SSC can I join you in the sleep deprivation club? Just could not switch my brain off last night and sat like a zombie at my desk right now!

millyv · 14/11/2011 10:51

Morning Ladies!

Hope you all had good weekends, ours was quite good, managed to drag the DH around s few shops and start the dreaded Christmas shopping, got quite a bit though, all of my family done so at least it's DH's problem if he leaves it until last minute now!

Also spent the weekend moving beds and rooms around, have 1 perfect rom for youngest step son now but the rest of the upstairs looks like a bomb has gone off - what is it about sorting out that means you have to create a disaster zone before it gets better!?!?!

I've been sleeping really well this weekend, although I've been awake at 8am every morning, which is a littlle annoying when you don't have to be up!

Thankfully the nausea seems to have left for the time being, I literally have to keep eating something every hour and I'm ok - am going to be huge though by the end of the 9 months at this rate!

I have been so thirsty, it's so cruel isn't it, can't stop drinking and then end up on the loo every 30 mins! I've been drinking loads of water and sprite zero, really fancied a glass of coke on the weekend but as I've given up caffene I bought some decaf coke, which was also diet - was not the same as coke zero at all and left me less than impressed!

I have my first MW appointment this afternoon, I am so hoping I get to have a scan soon!

Hope everyone has a good day!

Xx

Rrrrayray · 14/11/2011 11:21

Hi all

Afraid no ray of sunshine here either. Seem to be going from bad to worse on the sickness front. It's hard to really get excited, or not feel that June is a life time away when feeling so rotten!

Also feeling like bad mummy, have got a horrid sore throat this morning too so decided not to take DD to swimming lesson as thought may well puke in pool (roll on jan when she goes in solo) so she is sat infront of tangled while I put my food shopping order (thankfully delivered) away with a peg on my nose as I can't handle any sort of smell.

We really are a right feeling sorry for ourselves mess aren't we?! Roll on Christmas when hopefully the sickness will be easing & food will appeal more!

Have many people got their 12 week scan date through? Had booking in appt last week, but heard nothing yet. Would be so nice to get it to have a date to look forwards to!

Sending you all energy, anti sickness magic dust. Hope it works! Wink

Fubble · 14/11/2011 11:51

Morning everyone - I'm either going to cheer people up that there is a light at the end of all this waiting or make you Envy but had my booking in and scan on Friday morning Smile

Most important thing - lil bean was there, heart beating away even doing some jumping. Can't tell you the relief that dh and I felt.

Also only have good things to say about the staff - first midwife who met us as we came in through the door was so chatty and friendly and when she heard we'd had a mmc in June she asked if we would prefer our scan first rather than go through all the paperwork and questions first to help set our minds as rest.
Good thing too cos as it turns out my blood pressure was through the roof when they did it before the scan and back to normal after the scan.

The first younger doctor who was doing the scan, was happy everything was ok, but she then called a more experienced doctor in to see if they could get us a better image for the scan pic to take home - quite thoughtful.

They were so reassuring and nice - I was pleasantly surprised. We had dd at the same hospital and our experience was grand but we were so worried this time after the mc that I think they shocked us with how good they were with us.

Anyway, now feeling that I can get excited, shared the news with a couple more friends this weekend, and had a great wee weekend - including buying a new car!!

Really hope all who are struggling with nausea, sickness, tiredness, aches, pains and everything else that befalls us pregnant women - get through today ok.

If my (hopefully) happy post has cheered you up - Yay - if it's totally done your head in I'm sorry Blush No doubt a Monday at work will put paid to my positivity as payback!

Rrrrayray · 14/11/2011 12:06

Fubble- yes, hearing good news about light at end of tunnel does make me smile Grin Reminds me, as low and yuck as I feel, so very lucky to be pregnant and LOTS of ladies who would gladly swap!

JjandtheBeanplusPud · 14/11/2011 12:42

fubble great news, its so reassuring to hear of positive storys!

Well dp told mil. And guess what sil announced she's pregnant too, yesterday! I'm a month ahead of her though. Not sure how it went. Don't care but sil being pregnant too has warmed dp up it seems so that's good :)

I'm very thirsty too! Fed up of the constant nausea, all smells even nice ones make me wobble :(

mrsshears · 14/11/2011 14:06

Hi everyone! wow! its got busy!

sorry i have'nt been around for a while,i've been posting lots elswhere about dd2 who we have just discovered has an iq of 145 Shock
We decided to have her tested after lots of issues at school,so that has taken up lots of my time recently.
I'm 11+1 today and do you know what? i think i'm starting to feel a bit better, the evenings are still terrible and i'm crippled with nausea but in the day i'm more or less normal.
