I wanted to say sorry for your loss Growyourown. I really am.

ecstatica · 08/11/2011 21:24

Where is misslaughalot?

I had a good giggle at some of those posts :) Wish I had the space and time for all my comments!

Thanks for the warm well wishing girls -- it does seem unfair to have gone through recent surgery and still be suffering. Am fortunately heading to bed. I ate a plate or rice and salad and still managed to get the damn gallstone pain and throw up on motorway....grrrrr! Need bed. Poor DC, all they see is sick grumpy mummy.

keep sending the happy, glowy, shiny vibes....will eventually reach us all x

10000fireflies · 08/11/2011 22:51

Evening all! Wonder if you can squeeze in another on your June 12 bus?

JjandtheBeanplusPud · 08/11/2011 22:54

Welcome fireflies

What's you duedate? Is this your first?

I'm due 17th june and have a 4yo ds and 3 in 2weeks dd :)

SeriouslyStrongCheddar · 09/11/2011 06:55

Morning all!

Welcome fireflies!

So, I feel tired and nauseous this morning, but that's still an improvement on yesterday so feel well enough to say 'good morning'! The maternity pillow was...interesting. It did help as I didn't wake up with a sore back or sore boobs like I normally do, but if you want to turn over or get up for a wee it takes a lot more thought than normal when you've got an enormous pillow wound round you! Think it's going to take a bit of getting used to, but reckon it'll be good longterm.

Well, all this talk about cake has make me want to bake - I really can't cook, but I can definitely bake and now I want to; despite not baking for years! I'm thinking of taking Friday off work as hols just to have a short week, so could do a bit of baking then.

Hope everyone has a good day!

Dalrymps · 09/11/2011 08:28

Morning ladiesSmile

Seriously Glad you feel slightly better today. The pillows are good for support in bed but you're right, it's a bit of a fiddle to turn over etc.

Not feeling too bad here, was a little wakeful last night but feel more rested than I did yesterday and hardly feel sick at all yet..

Dalrymps · 09/11/2011 08:29

Oh and i've started taking my folic acid just before bed as I became convinced it was making my sickness worse for a few hours after I took it each day. We shall see.

Miniangel · 09/11/2011 08:41

Morning everyone!

So sorry for your loss growyourown. Hope you are resting and taking good care of yourself.

Welcome fireflies

Seriously and Dalry so glad you are feeling better today.
Dalry I have changed pregnacare to afternoon than night. Let's see if it makes any difference to waking up sick.

After the moaning post yesterday, surprisingly yesterday turned out to be a good day with less vomitting and sickness.

All my trousers and tights have become tight and uncomfortable. I am thinking of getting the waist extenders for the trousers. Has anyone tried them?

thedogwalker · 09/11/2011 09:30

Good morning everyone, just a quick post whilst I'm waiting for teh MW to come. So sorry for your loss Growyourown, my thoughts are with you and your family.
Hi to all the newbies, you need to find the list and then cut and paste aand add yourself to it, I think it last appeared on either page 15 or 16, just so that we can keep a track of everyone and there progress.
Hope everyne has a good day and seding Kveta more get well vibes, as the last lot obviously didn't work Smile

Warlin · 09/11/2011 09:31

Morning ladies

Welcome fireflies.

I'm with you Mini on the tight trousers. Had to go on Sunday and buy bigger trousers for work and baggier tops. I really think people are going to be able to guess soon as I def have a podgy tummy! Last week my trousers were really digging into me so this week is more comfortable (though I feel a bit frumpy!!). I'm only 8+5...could I be showing already?

I thought I was feeling a bit better today after working from home yesterday and getting an early night but my friend in work (who doesn't know) told me a look really pale and asked if I was sick! I'm really paranoid people are going to start noticing.

Still not sickness for me, but really really tired and boobs are so sore.

Oh, all that talk of cake though...mmmm...if you have any left over send it my way! I've been craving carbs so maybe the new belly is just fat and not baby!

4 weeks til next scan....roll on!

Kveta · 09/11/2011 09:53

hi everyone, am back at work today, and really shouldn't be. my ears have decided to get in on the 'make this week hell' act, so am totally deaf in one ear, and can barely hear from the other! It's actually quite nice not to be able to hear my colleagues, but on the other hand, does hurt a bit!! I just got panicky because I coughed up some blood, but am pretty sure it's just from throwing up so much yesterday cutting my throat. Will be calling a doctor tomorrow though if it continues.

my clothes were getting snug last week, but I put my jeans on this morning and they are falling off me. That'll be from 10 days of throwing up and general loss of appetite then!!

ecstatica, gallstones sound grim, hope you feel better soon!

TDW, hope all goes well with the midwife today!

Miniangel - I used a hair bobble instead of buying waistband expanders last time. I just looped the bobble through the button hole, then over the button to extend the use of my jeans by a few weeks. the bump bands are also a good option - New Look sells 3 packs in black white and grey - I couldn't use them, as they were too tight on my bump, but other women swear by them.

I can't wait to do some baking again, I normally make a cake every fortnight for afternoon tea on a sunday, and let DS help. But not done much recently, obviously. DH just loves his Victoria Sponges, so almost swoons when he sees me baking one :o for DS's 2nd birthday I did a plain viccy sponge with blue icing, and DH and I made a Timmy (of Timmy time fame) out of fondant - it was bloody awesome! DS keeps asking hopefully for 'more Timmy Happy Day cake' :o It's been 6 weeks since his birthday now, and he is still talking about it :o Optimistic child!

callmemamma · 09/11/2011 10:17

Morning everyone!

welcome itchy and fireflies

Most of you will probably tell me to consider myself lucky as I was only sick once so far after i ate footlong Subway...but It just makes me worried something is not right...I do feel sick most of the time and especially when hungry but not actually being sick.I was sick quite a lot with dd.I also lost taste and appetite and 3 pounds...even your talk about cakes and stuff doesn't do me for me I could do without food for now...
Please someone reassure me this is "good enough" symptoms for 7 weeks!
I really don't envy you kveta and everybody else with pains and colds and severe sickness but if you were like me you would have probably worried as well...

callmemamma · 09/11/2011 10:23

Morning everyone

Thanks for the welcome.

Growyourown - I am so sorry to hear your news and hope that you will take care and rest up so you can properly recover.

I've updated the list and added myself in below. Dr reckons it's due 21st June, so I've put that, though the Mnet calculator says 17th June, but will see at the dating scan. As a bit of background, I'll admit to being a bit of an oldie for a first time pregnancy, at 42. Am still amazed to be able to join this list. Have a blocked tube, x 2 failed cycles of IVF this year and was beginning to lose hope. Didn't think we'd manage it naturally, so you can imagine my amazement when I did a test just out of curiosity to see why I felt so rubbish! Am looking forward to sharing the journey with you all.

BumpleLeeds · 09/11/2011 11:43

Aww that's a lovely story firefly. So pleased for you!
I'm 37 and must admit to being a bit shocked to be here too! I have no idea what I'm doing with all of this.

Just had the date for my scan confirmed - 15 December. Seems ages away, and by my calculations I'll be nearly 14 weeks by then. I'd hoped to be able to tell work colleagues at the Xmas party on 9th December. I might have to anyway as they're bound to guess when I opt for mineral water instead of free glasses of wine! Blush

MammaInTheMaking · 09/11/2011 12:00

Well I had my dating scan today and I was sooo nervous because I just thought something might not be right following the MC. Bit there Blubes was, heart beating away, little kidney bean shaped and what I think is a tiny little arm. Difficult to tell but that's how we saw it! Just in complete shock and elation that all is well and I really am pg! She dated me at 9+2 so just 3 days short of what I had so I'll change my DD when I'm on the computer. Just wanted to say callme that I had 1 week of nausea at 6 weeks and then it suddenly disappeared. Have only has sore boobs and tiredness since. It just added to my worries but from now on I'm just going to embrace not feeling sick because there really is a little Blubes in me! Smile

Warlin · 09/11/2011 12:01

Sorry forgot to reply to you emblosion.

I went to 3five2 on the lisburn road as I wanted an early scan (I had been on clomid for a few months and there is a risk of early complications so I didn't want to wait).

That was last wed and the dr there said he would send me a booking apt for the Ulster. Havent receieved anything yet. Think I'm doing it all the wrong way round at this rate will get my booking after my second scan on 14th Dec! :) At least Down hospital is close to you. We are only 10 mins from the Ulster so it's handy for us.

Miniangel · 09/11/2011 12:02

Congrats fireflies and BumpleLeeds. I am so happy for you both.

Thanks Kveta I will try the hair bobble trick later today.

I can't wait for this evening as have a private scan booked. I am 8wks+1 so really looking forward to it. Sickness has returned with a venegence but I am so excited about the scan, nothing else matters. Hope everything goes well.

Miniangel · 09/11/2011 12:06

Congrats MammaInTheMaking . A big celebratory hug.

Dalrymps · 09/11/2011 12:06

Welcome to all newbies and congratulationsSmile

Great news on the scan mamma !Grin Even better your sickness has gone, enjoy!

callme Just wanted to say don't worrySmile I have never actually been sick with any of my pregnancies. Always just felt nauseous and tired etc. 1st pregnancy felt sick for only two weeks, 2nd pregnancy 10 weeks. All pregnancies are different.. My sils both never felt sick at all! You definitely have some symptoms so I'm sure everything is fine.

ecstatica · 09/11/2011 12:31

Fireflies -- Wonderful story!!! :) I'm so happy for you.

I have just turned 36 btw, my eldest son is 6 in a couple of weeks. Lots of friends are older mothers and are really quite amazing! My mother and MIL were both very young when they had their children, you can see the obvious advantages, I couldn't have done it in my teens/20's though, I was neither mature enough or responsible (although having had a best friend who changed with the birth of her DD at 18, it is done!). Age doesn't really matter, i guess we either grow with them or teach them what we know IYKWIM. Congratulations anyhow xx

I am supposed to be finishing the packing but am sat at laptop trying not to be sick. Should nap shouldn't I? No one here but me....will nap....puke....nap...puke....

Mama Congrats!!!! :)
Miniangel Enjoy every second of the scan :)

Kveta - You are doing well just being at work!!!!
Greengoose - perhaps new shop has day spa planned where you then get to swanky hotel ;)

Am going for nap x

thedogwalker · 09/11/2011 12:44

Firelies that is a lovely story, so glad it has worked out for you.

Well I've had my MW booking in appointment, now just got to wait for the date of my scan to come through the post. Hope the letter comes soonish, like early next week. I know my scan isn't due until beginning of December but I just want the date, its something positive to look forward to. Congrats on your scan Mama. Well I hope everyone is well, take care xx

Kveta · 09/11/2011 13:05

congrats on the scan mama! how exciting! who has the next scan? mine is on monday, and cannot come soon enough! by my dates I should be 11 weeks then, but who knows. I'm getting the full nuchal fold screening etc, because why not? DH and I agreed way before DS was conceived that we would have every test going, and would not hesitate to terminate if the baby had a condition incompatible with life. We still feel this way, so we're definitely getting all the tests we can this time round.

welcome and congrats too firefly

just saw my boss and told him how rough i was feeling and have been granted rest of the week off, thank god. so just need to pick DS up and drive home safely with him, then can rest for the next few days. can't wait!

Florin · 09/11/2011 13:13

I second the hair bobble trick it's working a treat for me!

itchyfootedlady · 09/11/2011 16:01

Fireflies thats great! My sister had about 5 courses if IVF and an awful time. She finally got my nephew, but has had no luck so far with a second... she's waiting for my eggs apparently! I copied the list. looks like i'm last in line.

I bought everything I could find on amazon yesterday that said it helped relieve morning sickness and am now sat with sea sickness acupuncture bands sucking' preggie pops' boiled sweets after taking B6 supplements and ginger capsules... so far 4 hours sick free! :) Its probably all in my head but I do seem to feel better.

mamma I'm happy for you and the scan. Saw my little pea last week at 6 weeks. it was like a pulsating blob - but it was in the right place with a heart beat so nooooo complaints! can't wait till it gets limbs and a visible head!

Kveta have lots of supportive thoughts to get you home. work when ill sucks, work when pregnant sucks so combined is a special kind if hell i should think :(
