Hi all, JJ hope you're feeling betternow that blasted tooth has been removed and Kveta sending you more get well vibes, you need some cheering up girl.
Well I finally got a call from the MW and I am booked in for Wednesday morning. Still I am sooooo jealous of you lot already having scans etc. No idea when mine will be and I'm so keen to see my little ray of sunshine, Blush, yes my nickname for my little one Smile. I do feel different this time round, with DS I had no morning sickness and acute tiredness in the first few weeks. This time, I'm very tired every day and I have slight sickness but I have some major dizzy spells every day. Not sure if that means anything, as they always say every pg is different, wouldn't like to think I was carrying a DD just because things are slightly different. However, I will be getting a gender scan done, when the time comes as I want to be prepared.
Hope everyone is well and staying healthy, take care xx

JjandtheBeanplusPud · 07/11/2011 20:49

Thedogwalker, I really hope I can find out the sex this time also. That way I know whether to keep ds or dds clothes, I found out with ds and I'm so glad I did as he was prem and spent time in NICU and I think knowing he was a boy and already naming him helped the bonding, dd I had 9 scans and never discovered what she was, I got a maybe a girl but not sure enough, little pickle.

kveta hope your feeling better soon, have you tried seabands? Xxx

Finally had something to eat. Cheese sandwich, and cheese and onion crisps, it was heaven Grin

Any ladies on here know they are in for ELCS? Both ds and dd was section and with dd I asked for a seperate scar as the posistion of ds' was extremely uncomfortable, which they told me meant no vbacs. I'm not to phased, just anxious as two scars to uterus is obviously risky.

Rrrrayray · 07/11/2011 23:02

Hi all.

Hope all well

Just a quick message, sorry for rather me me, I'll post properly tomorrow.

Scan went well. Baba spot on dates had thought. Looked well and strong heart beat.

But, had a bit of a surprise... Have retroverted uterus, and also, have polysistic (spelling) ovaries and she was really quite surprised I had conceieved both babies relatively easily (5 months trying DD and 2 with this pregnancy)

Rather Hmm about It all, and odd that Not known before!

Hope you all sleep well xx

Dalrymps · 08/11/2011 08:15

Morning ladiesSmile

Rrrray Great news about the scan! How strange they didn't notice the other stuff last time, good it hasn't affected ttc though..

* moan alert * I was tossing and turning all night and having crazy dream. I now feel so so exhausted. I was really breathless just making my breakfast in the kitchenSad Thankfully my amazing dh got up with the boys before he went to work and made their breakfast then got me up. If I didn't know better I'd say I feel like I felt last time and it ended up I was anaemicHmm

Anyway, enough about me. How is everyone today?

ecstatica · 08/11/2011 08:24

Hello all,

Ray - Bet that was a surprise! It's good that you've been feeling well enough not to notice I guess, congrats on seeing your baby :)
Hello to everyone -- have caught up on all posts over brekkie.

Had to go to A&E yesterday. The pain got too bad to even stand in a shop -- I had kind of diagnosed myself with kidney infection and had taken sample to GP earlier in day. After 6 hours of nil by mouth it would appear that although i've recently had my gallbladder removed, i could have gallstones in the bile duct :(
Now it makes sense that I've been in severe pain after eating spicy/oily foods! Back to plain old diet for me. Awaiting scan now to have a good look.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Dalrymps · 08/11/2011 08:42

Poor you ecstatica! Glad they're getting to the bottom of the pain though so can hopefully resolve it once and for all. Must be awfulSad

itchyfootedlady · 08/11/2011 09:01

Hi all. I'm a first post first baby newby... currently stuck in bed as moving makes me sick! OH is away with work so nobody to drag me up with ginger tea and hugs. Very tempted to just call in sick, but if I start doing that I'll never go back :) really sorry everyone is feeling crappy but also quite glad. Misery loves company.

Really like being able to read up on how everyone else is feeling as work with 40 men so not much chance of sharing there, and OH is gorgeous but just thinks I've gone mental when I cry in tkmaxx.

Due 29th June I think, had a scan last week at 6 weeks as had bad pains and thought it might be ectopic, but just a big ole cyst. Very excited but so far pregnancy is some form of torture and completely paranoid I will have missed miscarriage and will have poked for weeks for no reason! fingers crossed we all produce adorable, sleepy healthy babies!

greengoose · 08/11/2011 09:53

Welcome itchy! sounds like your getting the full and thorough intro to the joys of pregnancy there then!!

My DS2 (4) kept us up all night with horrible cough, hes really suffering poor thing. Currently hes lying flat out on couch under blanket watching BFG. Bless. (Thank god for calpol). He always looks about 2 when hes ill. I am totally exhausted but have promised Ill make some soup for lunch, so better get to vegi patch and see what I can find. Also have to clean out ducks and feed alpacas. (cleaning out ducks is the most sick inducing smell in universe) Dog can just run on field today... no hope of proper walk.
OH has been staying in swanky 5* hotel last few nights with work. Called me from the spa last night. Said hes knackered, been working so hard. HmmmmEnvy. I have to finish stock-take for shop today, opening on Sat was not reckoning on sickly children.... panic panic panic......

Sorry, needed a rant.......

ecstatica poor you. That sounds utterly horrendous! And after you went through the op too! How unfair! can they sort it while you are preg. or will it wait? Ive heard from friend that stones are the worst pain in the world.... child birth is easy comparably!

Dairymps yucky night! You should take some iron sups. just incase... I always need them when Im preg, and they really help. I take the liquid ones as they dont upset my tummy, two a day if I actually get anaemic...

Rrrray sounds like youve confounded them there! do those things need any treatment, or is it just carry on as usual now you are pregnant? Its probably good you didnt know, since it all works anyway! (IYSWIM).

Have a good day everyone!!

Miniangel · 08/11/2011 10:25

Sorry haven't been posting as have been sick all day long.

Ecstatica Hope they sort something out soon to get you relief from all that pain. A big sympathy hug.

Kveta and Kayzr I am excatly in the same boat as you two. Hope we all feel better soon.

Rrrray Hope you are not worried. All will be well and you are an exception to the rule.

I am throwing up water too. Went to the docs yesterday and they think I have UTI as well as Hymermesis which means excessive vomiting in pregnancy. I have a pain in my back too. I am having a very rough time of it so decided to cancel my Dubai vacation in Dec and take my 3 weeks off now instead. DH and I were so looking fwd to the vacation but Peanut and my health comes first. I can do without work stress at the momemt. I have a private scan booked tomorrow and I will go ahead given the circumstances. Fingers crossed all should be well.

Mini milestone I am 8 weeks today.

Hope the 2nd trimester brings health and the famous glow to us all.

Xandrass · 08/11/2011 10:26

Welcome itchyfootedlady you are due the same day as me :) It's my first too.

growyourown77 · 08/11/2011 10:42

Hi all. I'm sorry not to bring a positive story forward, but after my spotting last week, I booked a private scan Friday and was rushed to hospital for emergency surgery for an ectopic pregnancy. We're devastated, still in shock and I'm still in pain, but wanted to just sign off this thread in case people wondered where I went.

I really do wish all of you well and thanks again for being there through those early days.
xx

Hope better days are ahead of you once you recover xx

emblosion · 08/11/2011 11:00

Sad growyourown so very sorry to hear your news, what a horrible thing to go through. am thinking of you. Take care of yourself x x

working9while5 · 08/11/2011 11:09

I am so sorry to hear your news growyourown, I have two close friends who have had this experience and it is shocking and devastating. All losses are of course but it is really hard when your loss is combined with a medical emergency. I hope you have been given good pain relief. Take care of and be gentle to yourself xxx

CaptainNemo · 08/11/2011 11:21

Hello ladies, I'm sorry to crash your thread after GrowYourOwn's awful news, I hope you don't mind seeing a new face...

Am currently around 8-8.5 weeks pg. DD was 2 at the end of august but this is my 4th pregnancy so am still v nervous. Had a mmc the first time then quite a late 2nd trimester mc before DD, so pregnancy, especially early pregnancy, is not my favourite time! Am feeling sicker this time than with any of the others and boobs are already a fair bit bigger (although they were MINISCULE to start with, so not really saying much!). Had an early scan last Thurs, consultant happy so far although I reckon I should be measuring about 3 days bigger than I was so will just have to keep fingers crossed...

My main reason for posting is that I'm booked in for a swine flu jab at 4.45 this aft and I'm really uncomfortable about having one in the 1st trimester. I was hoping others might have views or experiences one way or the other? A good friend of mine is a gp, she thinks no reason not to have it and nhs direct says the same, but I'm still nervous... And I just wondered what the views are on here? Apologies if this is something you've already covered, I've tried to catch up with the thread a bit but I haven't managed the whole thing!

Good luck to everyone, Nemo.

Kveta · 08/11/2011 11:21

oh no growyourown :( how sad. I too know of at least 3 friends who have suffered ectopic pregnancies, and all said how shocking it was - and how painful. Thank god they caught it when they did, but still awful for you :( hope you feel better as soon as possible.

greengoose · 08/11/2011 11:25

Growyourown Im so sorry to hear your sad news. Such a lot to cope with. Look after each other.

emblosion · 08/11/2011 11:30

Hi and welcome Nemo ..... Just to say. I've had my flu jab, its

emblosion · 08/11/2011 11:35

Oops! (ahem) posted to soon, stupid phone....anyway as I was saying: It's not a live vaccine and was assured by gp and practice nurse that it won't do any harm. I work in healthcare so come into contact with lots of bugs and feel much better for being protected, I had flu a couple of years ago and it was awful, so anything to avoid it again! Only side effect I had was a slightly sore arm.

Of course only you can decide tho x

CaptainNemo · 08/11/2011 11:38

Thanks embolsion - think I'm not happy unless I have something to worry about! I would ask my midwife, but I haven't booked in yet, accirfing to the receptionist she'll "probably call me in a couple of weeks, but it might take her a while to get round to it" So that's reassuring!! Confused

emblosion · 08/11/2011 11:49

Ha ha, same here.... I'm in northern Ireland and have been told the midwife will ring me 'sometime before the first scan' so its anyone's guess when that will be. My plan is to Chase up if I don't hear anything in the next couple of weeks, am worried they'll forget me!

JjandtheBeanplusPud · 08/11/2011 11:52

Morning,

Growyourown I am so sorry to hear your news, lots of love and hugs coming your way take care and rest xxxx

How's everyone feeling?
Nauseas subsided a touch for me, boobs are still achey as anything! I'm finding it impossible to eat anything I don't 'fancy' though, which Is no example to set to a 4 and nearly 3yo is it!

Also feel like I've had an encyclopedia thrown at my face after yesterdays extraction, but its so much better than the original pain.

Dd is 3 om the 21st and I'm yet to organise her party, have roughly planned the cake, all presents are brought but no cards or wrap, its like I can't complete any tasks!

Anyway enough about me.

green I hope things fall into place and your ds is better soon, my ds is four but manages to pull off the vulnerable baby look when he's poorly. Its very cute aswell as sad :)

I've just seen 3 christmas adverts!! Dd nearly had a meltdown she was so excited.

Kveta · 08/11/2011 12:03

since you asked jj :o

I still feel like death. pretty sure i have bronchitis too (my symptoms match the symptoms given on the NHS page exactly), so unless I start coughing up blood, I know it's nothing to worry about, but does explain why I am not getting better after what I thought was just a cold! am aching from head to toe, head still muddy, hearing almost completely gone, and despite rivers of snot, am totally bunged up still.

I have managed to get my lovely lovely wonderful lovely childminder to take DS for a few hours today so i can get a wee bit of work done, then take to my bed for an hour or two. nearly finished the work, so yay! bed! I cannot take more time off work though, so will be in the office tomorrow coughing my lungs up and generally repulsing everyone.

Poor DH is knackered too after my coughing kept him awake last night, and he somehow lost the ability to tell me to feck off to the sofa (an agreement we have if I've got a cough, because mine is so nasty), so he stomped off to work this morning in a fury. And DS spent the morning being 'challenging' (or 2, depending on your definitions!!), he has broken his favourite money box by flinging it on the floor, and has scattered his jigsaws all over the lounge. sigh. I miss being ill without a toddler...

morning sickness has reared her ugly head again too, so am struggling to keep food or drink down. Managed a chocolate marshmallow cake though Hmm but a satsuma sent me to throw up. gah. NOT LONG NOW and we will all be glowing. honest...

millyv · 08/11/2011 12:12

Afternoon everyone!

Sorry for the lack of posting recently but this head cold I am still sturuggling with really took it out of me... feeling a bit better now - only emptying nose every 15 mins now which is a bonus and I can actually breathe in between which is a nice feeling (sorry if TMI)!

growyourown I am so so sorry for your loss, I hope that you have been looked after properly and that you are as ok as you can be.

Welcome to all of the new ladies, congratulations on your pregnancies!

This might not make many of you happy but I have still had absolutely no sickness yet, if I get hungry or thirsty I feel a bit travel sick but then as soon as I eat/drink it goes. However, I'm not eating what I would normally, everything seems to be about the carbs at the moment and things that don't have much flavour. Boobs are still annoyingly bigger and painful and I keep getting those tummy cramps which scare the hell out of me! Apart from that and the tiredness which is ridiculous I think I'm doing ok.

I hope the sickness passes soon for everyone.

Has anyone gone into different trousers yet? My jeans are realy starting to feel uncomfortable, so I buy the next size up or maternity? I feel a bit of a fraud looking at maternity without a big bump!

The only thing that I can recommend for anyone with this stupid head cold is Vicks, hope you get better soon!

Hope everyone has a productive afternoon!

Xx

p.s forgot to mention Christmas sandwiches are my addiction for lunch at the moment, I am going to be huge (as in Fat!) before Christmas! :)
