Morning ladiesSmile

miss I'm sure everything is fine although I know how every little thing can make you worry. Let us know what the midwife says.

Not feeling too bad here so far today. Hoping the sickness is easing a bit. Was there yesterday but on and off, day before was quite a good day. It'll probably come back with a vengeance now I've typed this!

Just having brekko with my boys. Wheatabix fruit and nut minibix is my new breakfast obsession..

Kveta · 07/11/2011 09:07

hi miss - hope mw appt is good :)

i've taken the day off today, as spent last night coughing my lungs up, so no sleep, and back is bad again. wish i could take some real drugs and feel better!! that's what i miss most whilst pg, cold remedies!! DS is still ill too, so we're snuggled on the sofa watching cartoons until I feel up to an amble into town with him! was going to go to the library but it is closed, typical!

glad you're feeling less sick dalrymps, long may it continue! my current breakfast of choice is a crumpet with honey, which i wouldn't normally touch! annoyingly, i have gone off potatoes - with DS it was all I ate. this time it seems to be wheat products I'm after. I made a lovely toad-in-the-hole yesterday, and could have eaten the batter all by itself!!

(Actually, if any of you are in the north east, I won a goody bag of sausages (don't ask!) from the Northumberland sausage company, which I used in the meal, and they are the best sausages I've ever eaten! I will be ordering from them when I'm less rough, as I want to try their other sausage recipes now!!)

openerofjars · 07/11/2011 09:30

Kveta, blimey, you are having a crap time, you poor thing. I really hope things start to turn round for you soon.

Glad to hear you've had a good day, Dalrymps, bout time too!

Greengoose, I'm in Yorkshire, but if I'm ever down your end of the world I shall PM you for the shop name! I love the sound of the giraffe but I think DH would have me sectioned if I suggested a trip down to Devon on the off chance of winning a massive giraffe...

Well, 11 weeks today and to be honest the sickness is getting worse, if anything and I am sooooooooooooooo tired. Today I was sick twice before 9. Gross. And I cannot eat anything in tomato sauce, which is getting on my nerves as most of my weekday meals are tomato based.

Two weeks to scan day and counting...

Good luck with your scan, Miss: I hope everything's okay in there.

Warlin · 07/11/2011 09:44

Morning everyone

Sorry you're stressing miss but I'm sure everything is fine. I know people that have badly bled throught the first 12 weeks and still been fine so I'm sure some spotting is nothing. I know how you feel though, it's tough.

kveta sorry you're having a rough time, you seem to have sickness worse than most. I have been lucky so far and no sickness though felt really queezy doing the shopping yesterday!

Green..I know how you feel. I am sooo tired too....could literlly just sleep all day and hate the thought of a full week in work! It's so hard to function.

Is anyone else tearful? I cried myself to sleep last night for no reason. DH can do nothing right and I know I'm being harsh! It's just hard as anything sets me off. He sat on the sofa all day yesterday while I cleaned the house, walked the dog and did the shopping...I was so exhausted by the end of it that I started ranting about being unsupported. I feel bad as I' know I'm just hormonal! Does anyone else feel like that?

8+3 today....still counting down to chrimbo when I think I can start to relax. Had to go and buy bigger trousers yesterday and don't think I'll be back in the size 10s for a while! On the plus side I'm more comfortable and not having to sit with my button open!

Have a good day everyone..hope your Monday's aren't too painful x

ffnorm · 07/11/2011 09:46

Morning all!
Is anyone finding teeth brushing a challenge?? Have taken to brushing 1st thing, before anything is in my stomach,so at least it is just dry heaving for a few minutes otherwise I just bring up everything, even if I've only had a drink (it's not as if I can avoid brushing my teeth...)

Kveta hope things improve for you soon!! You really seem to have drawn the short straw!

Have a good week everyone

HorseyGirl1 · 07/11/2011 09:49

Afraid my breakfast of choice at mo is a sausage roll and tomato sauce with a carton of orange juice. The shame... I never ever touch them and now I can't get enough. Although oddly someone came into the office smelling sausage rolls on Friday and it made me want to heave!

Kayzr · 07/11/2011 10:07

Hello.

Morning sickness and tiredness are keeping me away at the minute Sad
I'm throwing up every day. There's a few things I can eat but not too much.

I'll try and catch up this evening when the boys are in bed. Hope everyone is ok.

ceeej · 07/11/2011 10:27

Morning all, we told the ILs yesterday and they seemed quite pleased which was a relief. I managed to cook a roast without too many problems though I did have to lock myself away in the bedroom occasionally to get away from the smell. Then after pudding I got really painful trapped wind and suddenly felt exhausted but fortunately MIL noticed and decided it was time for them to be going so I didn't have to be too rude. OH was a darling and did all the clearing up while I had a lay down.

Kveta and Kayzr sorry to hear you're having an awful time, do hope it improves soon.

Warlin I've been crying at TV programs a lot and I ended up weeping whilst reading a book on the tube the other day but no completely random crying yet.

I am in awe of all of you that have kids to look after whilst feeling like this, I feel barely capable of looking after myself most of the time!

ellybett · 07/11/2011 11:32

Morning all. Hope those with nausea can find the nearest sofa in a darkened room!
Not posted lately as been down in essex for my best friends wedding festivities. Managed to squeeze into my bridesmaid dress thanks to a pair of spanx but thank god I bought a backup dress for the evening as I was soo uncomfortable! I'm only 7 weeks but I swear I'm showing. Also decided to start my ms the day after the wedding so have been walking about very slowly and taking deep breaths. Am definitely struggling in finding foods which settle my tum.
Was no way like this when pg with dd so am wondering if this little bean could be a boy? Did anyone else experience different symptoms depending on sex of child?

ecstatica · 07/11/2011 11:46

Really good question Ellybett I notice a few of us have only boys wondering if any mums of boys are feeling any different? (or vice versa)

Think i may have kidney infection hence the awful pains i've been having, so hopefully get sample sent off now and get on with house move. I read that being dehydrated could be a cause so would seem understandable considering the fact i'm sick at least 3 times a day.

Also cry at random moments. Now tell OH that I'm feeling hormonal and to pls give me a hug and put up with me. Works much better than previous being horrible for no apparent reason and making everyone grumpy.

Called Surgery earlier but will take time to register and m/w seems fully booked until Nov 1 which will bring me to around 11 weeks -- is that ok for booking appt?

Kayzr Hope to c u online later i so know how u r feeling. Hope boys r being good to u.

misslaugh -- hopefully all ok. x

misslaughalot · 07/11/2011 12:13

Hi everyone, just back from my booking in appt.

Midwife said that because the spotting seems to have stopped, there wasn't much, it was brown and without pain that there's nothing to worry about, so phew! (although I knew that in my head really...)

I'm still amazed that I have got so far in the system without anyone actually giving me a pregnancy test. They only have my word that it's real (and I could really do with someone telling me those words 'you're pregnant!')

Oh well, 9th December for the first scan seems like an eternity away isn't too long to wait is it?

Still no news from growyourown? Thinking of you and hoping it all went well x

Rrrrayray · 07/11/2011 12:18

Ffnorm - having same thing with teeth brushing! Burgh!

Ellybet - I was dreadfully sick for 7 months with DD. I'm hoping it won't continue for that long this time. I'm not sure there's much of a link between sickness & sex.

Sickness beginning to get semi managable here, but like some of you my diet is focused around what I can keep down rather than what's healthy!!! Hmm

Scan at 7.30 tonight. Excited / nervous xxx

Kayzr · 07/11/2011 13:18

Ellybett. I never had any symptoms with the boys. No sickness, no tiredness, didn't have sore boobs. Nothing. Just a positive pregnancy test until I started showing.

So I'm wondering if I'm having a girl as I'm really sick and so so tired.

Carty80 · 07/11/2011 14:32

Rrrray Good luck at scan!!

ffnorm yep the teeth brushing this morning for first time set me off wretching! Sure toothpaste smelt of garlic and then couldn't think of anything else.

misslaugh glad mw has calmed your worries and all is well.

Sorry to miss people out, my brain is so tired and I can't work out what to type half the time! I hope those of you feeling dreadful are ok.

Feeling very, very sick, not keeping much down and very tired. Had this with both previous pregnancies up til about 16 weeks and I have a DS and DD, no different symptoms for me to tell difference.

Novmama · 07/11/2011 15:34

Afternoon to all. Sorry to hear so many of you experiencing so many horrid symptoms. Think on the positive side - shows that there is something going on in there! Smile

Finally had my booking appointment on Friday - MW lovely - but very matter of fact re my fears at being 42 which I suppose is all she could be. Has sort of made me think less about it - only 3 weeks to go until dating scan!

Also they seem to be very keen to push me down the VBAC route after my e c/s last time. But I can't even think about that for now. Just keeping everything crossed for a viable healthy baby. 9 weeks today and already look v.pregnant - not sure how I'm going to hide it. Clothes so tight.

So continuing with positive thoughts, snacking to minimise almost constant nausea and so so tired. Work very difficult!

Re symptoms - more tired and less nausea this time but not much in it... Hopefully it will tail off at 14 weeks as it did last time.

working9while5 · 07/11/2011 15:36

Hello, not been around in a while.

Had a scan more than 2 weeks ago, showed bean with a heartbeat but measuring small. Might be something to worry about, might not. I have swung between being wildly positive to feeling quite negative, so am not really doing the ante-natal club thing yet. Have booked in with m/w for day before next scan, which is 17th. Hopefully that will show me to be 10.5 weeks at least. Seems forever away. Can't concentrate at work, study anything. Nausea not really there some days, raging others. Same with tiredness. No clue what is going on inside me!

Tipp2, are you on any Irish sites with antenatal threads? Particularly pink/purple ones meant for a larger audience?

FrozenYogurt · 07/11/2011 15:39

Peeks head around door...Hi everyone, can I join in?

Am expecting my second, due on 21st June. I'm feeling pretty exhausted at the moment. I live for DDs naps, so I can mumsnet catch up with housework.

misslaughalot · 07/11/2011 16:23

Ok ladies, I'm having a bit more bleeding this afternoon, although it's still brown and I'm not in pain. Do I just ride it out?

Kveta · 07/11/2011 17:26

call the midwife misslaughalot! better safe than sorry!

welcome frozenyoghurt :)

i was getting all excited that morning sickness had abated, but it has returned with a vengeance this afternoon, gah. poor ds is eating so much crap at the moment, as all i can cope with is chucking fish fingers or frozen pizza in the oven for him :( if I have a good day, I bulk cook pasta sauce or something, but this week hasn't been overwhelmed with good days... that said, the little swine has just refused the frozen pizza in favour of a dry cheese cracker. Hmm he refused any lunch today, and just wanted milk, so suspect he's feeling hideous too. think I'll calpol him tonight, and hope we're both ok tomorrow, as he will eat well at nursery (he eats well when DH is here too, but if it's just me and him, will refuse everything offered, which really pisses me off!! I suspect he knows this!)

I'm definitely not as sick this time as I was with DS, but this time have the added bonus of a toddler to look after, plus this hideous cold, obviously. so feel worse this week, but otherwise nowhere near as bad.

pissed off now though, as sainsburys order turned up minus any nappies Angry so will have to either go tomorrow on way to work, or send DH out when he gets home at 8pm this evening to get some. grr.

ooh, just thought - my scan is a week today! so only 7 days to get through...

biglips · 07/11/2011 18:13

misslaughalot - yes you better call your midwife as sorry cant give you any advice. Hope its nothing to worry to about.

today feeling much better than i have been since i found out i was pg as yesterday i felt so drained...prob tmrw will be back to square one. Got my 1st midwife appointment. So excited and yes this is my 3rd. My tummy had been looking like im 6 mths pg at the end of every night as soooo bloated and abit constipated. Even though im drinking lots of diluted orange juice and fresh orange/prunes, i need to try drinking a cup of water per day.

Is anyone's taste buds tastes so stale?? as even though this is my 3rd pg, every pg is so different. 1st pg, it sailed soooo smoothly, 2nd had MS twice and very painful loose pelvis pain at 4 mths, i was crying in the end and my dp marched me to the top physiotherapist, she had magic hands!!, lol and this 3rd pg, i feel so bloated, windy, vvvvvvv tender boobs and nips, feel more drained this time round (whether cos ive got 2 girls to look after or im old as ill be 37 when ill have this baby), sick burps constantly and certain smell and foods had put me off!!

so its all new to me this pg Smile

i gotta a feeling that ill have my 1st scan about 2nd week of Dec so ill be about 12 weeks pg.

SeriouslyStrongCheddar · 07/11/2011 18:51

Evening all.

Welcome Frozen.

Sorry to hear you're still feel rough Kveta - hope you feel better soon.

miss - might as well give the mw a call; better than worrying.

Sorry if I've missed anyone out - between tiredness and nausea I think I'm operating on 1% brain capacity at the moment.

Well, was tired this morning and a bit nauseous but the day was actually better than I thought - until we were on the way home when I honestly thought I was going to throw up in the car. No idea how I didn't, but we stopped at a little Tesco and DH bought me a strawberry iced doughnut, which did the trick so we got home without me redecorating the upholstery (I swear, Tesco strawberry iced doughnuts are magical - always make me feel better)!

Early night for me tonight I think in the hope of a better night's sleep - after DH searching for a maternity pillow on Saturday, he's reserved one at Argos that should be available to collect on Wednesday. He's fab!

Hope everyone's having a good evening.

JjandtheBeanplusPud · 07/11/2011 20:07

Hi everyone, welcome frozen.

I've had the day from hell, went to my mums for lunch and the niggling slight toothache suddenly smacked me like a ton of bricks, white hot pain all down one side of the face, 2hrs later I'd had an infected wisdom tooth removed, still a bit sore but glad its over.

Wrt different sexes different symptoms,

1st pregnancy was ds, who's now 4 so bit foggy memory but I craved savoury stuff, especially sour cream and chive dip from pizza hut. Sickness and tiredness took over but I had nothing better to do, so wallowed a bit haha.

2nd, was dd who is 3 in two weeks, I craved ice, crunched it all the time, had the sickness but controlled it with pregipops lollys, still felt the nausea but not as bad. She was very active, and responded more to sounds.

With both orange gave me heartburn, instantly.

I have a feeling pud is a girl, I had a gut feeling with the past two and was right. So I wonder?

Dalrymps · 07/11/2011 20:17

Evening allSmile

Miss I agree, give the mw a bell of you're worried.

Ooh Kveta roughly where are you in Northumberland? I'm in Berwick Upon TweedSmile Hope you feel better soon..

Hope we all feel better soon!

I'm chilly tonight, heating on and wrapped in a fleece but just cant get warm brrrr

Re sickness and sex of baby. I have 2 ds's .. My sickness was very short lived the first time, about 2 weeksShock but the second time I had it from 6-16 weeksSad it was about as bad last time as it is this time iirc. I feel pretty similar this time although not sure if it's slightly worse this time as I'm looking after 2 boys so more tired. So basically, if I go by that this pregnancy is most similar to my second so maybe its another boy? I'm rubbish at guessing these things thoughGrin

Dalrymps · 07/11/2011 20:19

X-posted Jj so sorry you had such awful tooth pain. I've heard that can be really painfulSad Glad it's sorted though and hope the pain fades to nothing soon x

Kveta · 07/11/2011 20:37

hey Dalrymps. I'm not in the NE, but studied at the same college as the woman who founded the sausage company - she sent me a wee bag of goodies to try, and I am very impressed :o
