Great news Florin and Carty! So glad it went well. It's such a relief...I'm still on cloud 9 after mine. 8 weeks today. Only 4 more until I can relax properly!

Hope everyone has a a great sickness free weekend! DH at the races today so I suspect he'll be in bed early tonight :) rubbish tv and carb fest for me!

I've no idea when he plans to tell them, he doesn't realise how selfish he's being!

I've been on my own with mil, ds, dd and our nephew since 6am, I'm shattered, ds and dd are being truly awful, there behaviour has hit and new low! If they aren't eating there moaning they're hungry, fighting, shouting, throwing stuff!!! Argh I cannot wait for dp to get home and take over I'm getting to nervous breakdown screaming hissy fit point!

honeybee23 · 04/11/2011 13:27

Updated list! I've added my name as well. Would it be possible to have this list somewhere where we can go and update it - could it be a separate thread that we can always refer to? Sorry, I'm a newbie so not really sure if it can be done. I was just thinking it would perhaps be easier to make changes to one list that is in one place. :)

growyourown77 · 04/11/2011 13:51

Thanks for your support and reassurance, I'm really hoping that's it's nothing. The GP was understanding and referred me for an early scan, but as its not until Tuesday and it's got worse since in the last hour, my DH suggested I book a private one (surprisingly ok price of £50). So that's later this afternoon. Really nervous, but at least I'll know.

Kveta · 04/11/2011 14:09

hi all,

great news about scans! how exciting to see your babies!!

back still awful, and DS would only sleep on me last night, so I actually had no sleep at all. Plus cough is really hurting my back every time I do it. Oh well. Midwife was lovely today at booking in appt, apparently I have an excellent blood pressure, so was congratulated on it loudly :o and have lost a kilo since last MW appt, so morning sickness is good for something.

just got a soft toy microwave heat pack thing which I have strapped to my back, so hopefully that will help, and maybe some more paracetamol before bed tonight will knock me out.

good luck growyourown :)

emblosion · 04/11/2011 14:53

Just checking in waves at everyone .... Congratulations to all those who have already had a scan and seen their babies (am v jealous) and solidarity to everyone with aches and pains and feeling rotten!

Not much new to report really, still having crazy dreams, and plumbing new depths of weepiness, having cried at an advert about guide dog puppies and and an RSPCA advert about a cat whose owner dies...Hmm

growyourown good luck at the scan, fingers crossed for you!

X

misslaughalot · 04/11/2011 14:59

Also sitting here on the jealous side of the fence regarding scans! Oh well, 5 weeks today, not long to wait is it...?!?!?!

I also had a huge attack of crying last night. No idea what brought it on but my DP was fantastic, all he said was 'crazy hormones' and then hugged me until I stopped...

Good luck grouwyourown let us know how it goes

greengoose · 04/11/2011 16:27

What a lot has happened today!! I have foggy head and no time, but congrats to all those scanned and having seen healthy bubs!!

GYO I had brown spotting with both my boys, and early scans.... so I think it can be OK, but better to get these things checked out. i hope you get good news.

I have been a bad tempered emotional heap today. My DP eventually had to tell me to stop, as he was struggling a bit. I was sick of myself, so Im not surprised really. Still cried though! I want to have a bath and read a book, but I have sooo much work to do this WE. Aggghh.

Miniangel · 04/11/2011 16:37

Congrats to Florin , Carty and Warlin for the scan results.

Pleased that appt is all sorted now Starlight

growyourown all the best. Hope the scan goes well for you too.

I am making a record of all the public places to throw up- have thrown up at the side of a street and at public toilets of various tube stations ( only made it just in time till now). Was so tired and sick of being sick that came home at 14.00 from work. Was feeling a bit low so called my Mum and she said she went through the same thing and I turned out ok. She cheered me up a lil.

I am envious Envy of all you pple without morning sickness. Have a great weekend everyone.

Miniangel · 04/11/2011 16:40

BTW has anyone tried travel sickness bands for the nausea? They seem to help me a little.

ecstatica · 04/11/2011 17:44

I don't feel i've anything to contribute anymore all i seem to say is 'i'm sick!' and it's really wiping me out. OH is on his way home, i'm such a wonderful woman, dinner is ready, kids are almost in pj's and they will be thrown in his direction-- lovingly handed over while I have a bath and listen to a book.

Growyourown -- thinking of u. will check in later to see how u r x

JJ Are we living parallel lives? Same kind of day here my children just seem so much more demanding these days. make Tell DH to tell his mother so you can get some rest and leave them all too it. Take upstairs and have some YOU time. Hope the weekend proves restful.

Miniangel -- sympathy hug xx it'll all be worth it xxx

Right, sorry if i missed anything but i did read all posts, hard to catch up.

Have my scan in morning and then hopefully a nice day out with kids xx

ecstatica · 04/11/2011 17:47

LOL -- just remembering my first pregnancy posts almost 7 years ago on MN and thinking 'OMG' at the pregnant mothers with kids.... lol.
I still have 3 good friends from that thread -- MN was great x

JjandtheBeanplusPud · 04/11/2011 19:08

Dp darent tell anyone while ds is acting up to such a level as we look totally useless and it just means we have absolutely NO defence to any negative comments, luckily mil was supportive and understanding today which really helped but I'm still shattered and my head is pounding, I've just thrown dp out the door for a chinese, he didn't exactly improve my mood with his greeting being, "you look like shit babe are you ok" I don't think words came out I was more a feral growl in response.

Tomorrow were staying at mils so ill atleast get a shower and a slower start. And I think we'll get a couple of hours just --with kids tv and a pack of biscuits-- me and the kids, dp finishes at 1pm thank GOD!

Sorry for that epic moan.

Seabands travel sickness bands are fantastic, can't use them though as its an advert for me being pg :(

JjandtheBeanplusPud · 04/11/2011 19:10

Exstatica- I hope your dcs settle soon too, its hard work! But I know this too will pass --and its school on monday--

Rrrrayray · 04/11/2011 19:11

Hi all

Congrats to those having scans, exciting.

To those suffering from sickness (I am too, just managed to keep first meal down in 48 hours) these seem to help fend it off slightly

Ginger nut biscuits
Peppermint or ginger tea
Chewing gum
Toast

Hope those of you working enjoy a nice relaxed weekend. My DH is away until Sunday morning so no break from DD. To be fair she has been pretty much a little angel recently and keeps stroking back whilst sick.

Xxx

openerofjars · 04/11/2011 19:36

Bloody hell, the thread was only on page 8 last time I looked! Will be back when I've caught up with all the news...

warra · 04/11/2011 19:48

Apologies for lack of posts but sickness really kicked in the last two weeks!!! Eating helps but only fancy all things unhealthy - except oranges cant get enough of them!! The DC seem to know mummy is tired and feeling lousy as their behaviour has been draining!!! Told my family last weekend, only about 8 weeks behind my sister which is great!
So pleased about all the great scan results, I have been reluctant to even go to gp to book in yet! The first scan seems so far away!

Piper0804 · 04/11/2011 21:31

Hi all - its really good being able to read everyone's posts - although i have no idea what some of the acronymns are like DD & DH??
I am having a shopping trip tomorrow to get a couple of new bras - i am trying to squeeze into my current bras but it is getting embarassing at work !!!
my sickness seems to have died a bit but i am craving rubbish food - just had two pouches of uncle bens fried rice because i fancied it!!
Really tired - got my first MW appointment on Tues am - exciting!
we have also agreed to go for an early scan cos we are so excited - we are going a week on sunday & I will be 9 weeks.
Has anyone gone for these early scans?

Rrrrayray · 04/11/2011 22:32

DH - darling husband
DD darling daughter

Etc xxx

Florin · 04/11/2011 23:06

piper early scans are wonderful they are so reassuring as once you see the heartbeat your chance of miscarriage drops hugely. It's so lovely seeing the heartbeat, think dh loved it even more than me. Really helped connect him to there being a baby in there. He hasn't stopped talking about it all day (had ours this morning). Well worth the money. We were lucky as gp sent us for one so didn't have to pay but had booked a private scan which I have now cancelled as nhs one went so well.

Kveta · 05/11/2011 05:41

still feel like death warmed up here. i insisted on an early night last night, so was in bed by 8pm, but didn't sleep a wink. ended up lying on the lounge floor crying for several hours, delightful! as soon as dh wakes up i'm plotting a trip to A+E for some hardcore pain relief, i can't cope with another day of this. nor can dh actually!! i'm not sure if they'll even be able to give me anything stronger than paracetamol, but hope so, as it isn't working at all now. heat pack not working either, grr.

to add insult to injury, everytime i cough (which is roughly every minute) I'm peeing myself too. For some reason, since i had ds, i have no bladder control when i cough. fine thev rest of the time.

all pg symptoms have gone overnight too - my boobs, which are sore all the time, seem to have decided not to be today, and i opened the fridge earier and didn't feel at all sick, so am now convinced baby has stopped growing :( only 9 days to go until scan, so fingers crossed.

JjandtheBeanplusPud · 05/11/2011 08:47

Oh kveta, you poor thing! Please try not to worry, I had 'a day off from symptoms this week.

I hope a+e can offer you some relief, might be worth mentioning your concerned about the baby, incase you get a nice compassionate nurse who send you for a scan.

Sending hugs and love xxx

went to out of hours GP in the end, who told me to take paracetamol and get a good night's sleep Hmm gee, thanks for that. As DH said, he must have spent whole minutes reading that advice in his medical textbooks. just want to go to bed and sleep, but it isn't going to happen until this evening, boo. off to walk DS into town shortly to wear him out so we can have a nice break this afternoon whilst he naps!

piper - see here for the full acronym list. link is at top of page too, next to the customize and unanswered messages bit.
