Great news moobee - one less thing to worry about :)

I've got my test next Friday - I keep thinking I should eat better beforehand. I keep ODing on sweeties and cake which I'm sure won't help.

Moobee · 25/10/2011 10:58

Thanks Parsley! I saw it as potentially my last chance to eat cake for a while, which I'm sure isn't in the spirit of things. Hope it goes well for you.

ghosteditor · 25/10/2011 10:59

brilliant news moobee! and cakes really pleased to hear that you got home ok last night. You've got to love being a medical mystery Wink. It's funny how the adrenalin of a hospital visit wears you out though, isn't it - especially since it tends to be enforced lying-down-ness.

If all goes to plan with hiring maternity cover, this week will be my last 5 day week at work, and I'll have 4 day weeks in November and 3 day weeks in Dec, finishing on Dec 16th. However, I'm thoroughly shattered these days and could do with a shorter week this week too. Now that I'm through the worst of the book fair follow up I may consider actually using that extra day in lieu just to rest.

I'm feeling much more positive this week so thank you all for your support during my recent wibbles! DH is on the way home soon, SIL is doing well and all set up in her new apartment, NCT classes sorted (and DH may even be able to come along!). Unfortunately my uncle was rushed to hospital in an ambulance at the weekend and is undergoing tests, but is likely to need emergency abdominal surgery today or tomorrow. He's had really bad health in the last couple of years but just won't look after himself - he's in his late 40s, has two nearly-adult kids, and had a series of mini-strokes last year that gave us all a real scare. Yet he's still smoking, drinking a bit, and eating bad food (he thought the pain was from a bad takeaway at first Hmm). Everyone has tried to reason with him but he just insists he'll cut back on his own, and then after a month or two just goes back to his old habits. We're all a bit worried about him but clueless about how to help. Anyway, I'm trying not to worry too much, as I need a bit of space to calm down a bit - don't want this baby getting all charged up on stress hormones...

giraffe thanks for the tesco link, may have a look.

ghosteditor · 25/10/2011 12:46

Is anyone going to the baby show in London at the weekend? I have a friend's birthday instead, but I'm so tired at the moment that I'm glad I'm not slogging around another enormous venue!

However, a friend of mine works for a magazine for parents and she's just been sent a press release about a cot being launched at the baby show, and I had to share it with you - anyone keen for a Domani bed? Apparently, "you can see the cot and meet Jani on stand H63 at The Baby Show this weekend. Also, show visitors can take advantage of a substantial discount from usual RRP of £4,595 to £3,975 - this is for the show only."

Bargain - how could I resist? Grin

ParsleyLion1 · 25/10/2011 12:52

I was planning to go originally but OH flies out to India for work on Thursday and isn't back until the following Friday - he's over the moon that he doesn't have to go now gutted he'll be missing it. That and three of the five hypnobirthing sessions (little does he know that I've organised him a 1:1 session to catch up [hgrin]).

Anyway I CBA to go round the show without him as he'll want to be involved in all the big buying decisions anyway.

May have to change my mind if there are "bargains" like that bed on offer [hwink]

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 25/10/2011 13:29

I cba. I am, however, going to the country living xmas fair as a client of mine had some free tickets (yay - perks!)

That bed is absurd. What a f*cking waste of money.

GiraffeAHolic · 25/10/2011 13:30

We were going to go but I don't think I can be bothered to be jostled round Earls Court and pay the extortionate parking charges, so think I'll give it a miss.

Wondering about going in February once baby is here and scoping out nappies etc.

Well, you know, should baby have decided to remove itself from my ribcage by then Hmm

Fryn · 25/10/2011 14:29

Hi everyone,

Haven't been on for donkeys as I've been nursing a stonking cold. Got the most horrendous headache on Sunday, and went to see the doctor yesterday. She told me to go and get some ibuprofen, which the pharmacist refused to give me, so I had to go back and plead with the dr's receptionist who then helpfully grabbed another doctor who prescribed co-codamal in the reception area (glad he was so accommodating as I was on the verge of grabbing someone by the collar and bellowing "just give me the f*cking drugs!") The voice of doom pharmacist assures me I'll be addicted in a matter of days (remind me to find a new pharmacy) but they seem to be doing the trick, so long as I don't bend over or turn round too quickly.

cakes glad you're merely mysterious! What a pain though - I'd have been a bit cross about the lack of information about who was prodding/poking too.

moobee - great news! Crack that OJ open.

ghost sorry to hear about your uncle. Men, eh? They never learn. Hope he's better soon.

parsley I love that you've set DH up with 1:1 sessions. That'll learn him!

butterfly - what a perfect job. I'm very jealous (apart from the fact that my language skills are decidedly rubbish!)

sorry to everyone I've missed - my poor cotton wool brain can only process things on one page at a time! Hope you're all ok.

greenlady78 · 25/10/2011 15:37

Helllloooooo, so happy as just have been to see the MW and no sugar in urine this time!!!! Yeppeeee!!!! So they said they are not worried at all....well, I will keep an eye on it and no sugar for moi for a long time (will save it for a pudding at Christmas!) [hwink]

moobee I did ask for the sugar test but they said they had done a blood test already and that was normal and with the new urine test they said no need...I asked three times and they said no need X 3 so I did not want to be a a pain and said ok. I will keep an eye on it though for sure!

Thanks again ladies for sending me positive thoughts last week when I was freaking out! Hugs!

skeletonfishbonesandlilacs · 25/10/2011 17:11

hello everyone-flippin heck been off one day and thread has moved on 2 pages. Does take some catching up.

Moobee-good news about the GD well done.

Shonno-glad your dd is better

cakes-i'm glad you are home and well if not fireign on all cylinders. I wouldn't worry too much about the hospital, it's sadly just one of those things I think.

greenlady pm me your addy and i'll send you some stuff (eventually) and wooeee for no sugar in pee! :(

fryn I hate over zealous pharmacists-I think some of them get a trip off the power! I'm interested to hear the doc said you could take ibuprofen though because my doc said it was only ok in 2nd trimester. I would love to take some for my poor rib and back pain.

Had mum and dad and my sister over today wth my nephew. My sis and I look identically pregnant. In fact I am bit bigger than her. Even though she is 2 weeks ahead of me. I feel for her though because my nephew is a little bugger. I love him but he's not very well behaved. My sis keeps saying he's at that age (3 in dec) but It's more than that. He's just quite naughty and if I may hoick my judgypants a moment ..undiciplined.. I guess I shouldn;t judge, shes a great um my sister but she doesn't get as much support from BIL as I do from DH and I don't think BIL is as good a parent as he could be. He seems to ignore him or tell him off-theres nothing in between.

Thanks for all your kind words about DH's book-i'm a bit disgruntled as MN deleted my thread in chat :( still i knew it was a pushing my luck a bit to post it there.

Been to consultant aneathetist today-had my back ultrasounded which was weird. It was quite horrible really, i had to sit with my back exposed and chin on my chest while two aneathitists casullay chatting about what size needle they need and how big my verterbrea were and measuring the gaps in between. I felt quite sqeamish at one point. The needle in the spine bothers me more than the huge slice in my belly for some reason boak still he was very nice about it.

Next week i have my vbac clinic. Bit of a waste of time now the decision has been made but I still would like the opportunity to go over my previous notes. I feel like I live at the bloody hospital at the moment.

Mmmm pork in cider with mash and cabbage tonight-yum yum, sorry for the massive post! I'm off now!

skeletonfishbonesandlilacs · 25/10/2011 17:12

greenlady sorry random sad face in my above post! I think it was supposed to be a :)

Brownwolf · 25/10/2011 18:18

Hi everyone,

Made my Christmas cake today :) hope cooked version tastes as good as the mixture!

Think the Floradix must be working as I found myself dancing round the kitchen to the scissor sisters whilst baking!

greenlady78 · 25/10/2011 18:29

Ha, no worries skeleton thought the sad face was a bit odd but made me Smile will DM you and whenever you feel the urge to go the post office you let me know! [hgrin] And thank youuuuuu once again!!!! Thanks

Hmmmm home made Christmas cake....brown slightly jealous, would love to have a go!!!! I have MIL coming for Christmas, should I or shouldn't I have a go????????

ParsleyLion1 · 25/10/2011 18:44

Good news greenlady and brownwolf Smile

I'm feeling very mardy this evening. Only just finished work, had hassles with builders, tradesmen and moving men all day. We've switched water mains and can you believe that the waterboard " can't find" our stopcock in the old water main so they can't switch it off. In the meantime I've got a random water pipe sticking 2 ft out of the kitchen floor that can't be removed now without specialist plumbing work to seal it off because the water board can't find their own pipe work ! It wouldn't be so bad but they found it ok in jan when they scoped the work. [hangry] we're having the floor fitted on Thursday so basically the pipe has to be gone tomorrow - what's the betting the plumber can't be available. It's one of the most frustrating parts of this building work. The builders are quite reliable but the plumber and electrician keep not turning up when they are supposed to do it just delays everybody else. Grrrrrrrrr.

I was also going to rant that OH has gone AWOL on the day I need him to help me clear the decks for the flooring people. But he's just broken radio silence and is apparently on the next train behind me so I may let him off.

skeletonfishbonesandlilacs · 25/10/2011 18:59

Oh parsley sounds rubbish :( Hope it gets better soon. Building work is so stressful x

ParsleyLion1 · 25/10/2011 19:02

I'm busy planning how badly they will all get b*llocked in the morning It makes me feel better Wink

greenlady78 · 25/10/2011 19:09

parsley ha, that sounds like what I have in store for the Council for putting us off paying a damage they caused to our property...waiting for a reply but building up ammunition.... otherwise would just drive me mad!

Gosh, I never wrote that much in the thread before, feels great to keep up on top of all the news, yepiiiiiii!!!!

Oeisha · 25/10/2011 20:12

Hehe! Tracking us is a full time job, ain't it Parsley
I'm also irrationally grumpy at moments. Pisses me off even more. Must just try and chill out more miself. Just find it difficult to with all these pre-eclampsia checks and some of the jerks I have to deal with at work. Just wish they'd fire some of their asses, but apparently my employer's far too nice.

fish I will probably have to visit the anesthatist, though I'm not really 100% sure why as they don't give premeds for barba anymore...hey ho! Anyway, hope they don't bugger about with my spine.

Ergh. I did come on to say something in particular, but have forgotten [hconfused]

shonnomanom · 25/10/2011 20:18

Ah dd hasn't got any better today Sad she's been feverish on and off all day and started being sick again this evening. She ate a handful of cheerios this morning and that's it. Poor wee lamb just tried to cuddle up on my knee for a sleep but the baby is practising its kung fu atm. 'Bobby hurt me mummy'
Lack of sleep has resulted in a bitch of a headache that won't shift.
Got the open clinic for my flu JAG tommorrow morn so really need to get a proper sleep.

Told my boss today that I think I'm going to start mat leave earlier. She nearly panicked. Said Il make final decision by Friday so she has enough notice to reorganise my cover.

Glad that those waiting on results got good answers. X

Ps on top of the recent events in the house of sho, baby has had a big growth spurt and insists on having feet up in my rib cage and I'm struggling to get them out.

Hope everyone is well x

Brownwolf · 25/10/2011 20:41

hope your daughter feels better soon shonnomanon poor love. Also hope you sleep well and feel better too.

greenlady I definitely recommend making your own cake, it is so much better than anything you can buy and decorating it is so much fun too. I use Delia's recipe made it last year and it was fantastic. Not difficult but lots of ingredients to weigh out and takes about 4 hours in the oven so you need to have some time. go for it, you won't regret it.

Oeisha · 25/10/2011 21:23

Oh shonno! Your poor DD. Hope she's better soon. Hope LO gives your ribs a break soon too.

Anyone else's bump now so big they can kinda rest their boobs on it? [hconfused] I'm not going to be able to cope at work without a bra, so if the bras have to go soon, then so does work. And I'll need to employ some dwarves to walk around holding these puppies up (previously broked ribs makes non-wired bras/brasless a no-no), or some major scaffolding...[hbiscuit]

*oh, and before it was meant to read "premeds for barbs..." or any other form of thingy...anesthesia.

mummyzoe2012 · 25/10/2011 22:02

ame's prob fed up playign for them ive had one a 7 weeks, then 10 weeks, 12 weeks,20 weeks and two at 27 weeks. and then one at 33 weeks im getting a free rescan and prob have to have one at 36 too to see if she is still breach and back to back. her kicks now are quite painful as they are so low down i think she is trying to kick herself out. a phycic saw me today at a mates house and said that i will go into labour on the 18th jan in the afternoon and will have her by midnight 100% natural breach labour. so we will see what happens. she also said that baby is 100% a girl and will be heavy.

skeletonfishbonesandlilacs · 25/10/2011 22:09

Evening all,

I'm a teensy bit concerned because my boys movements have been massively reduced today. No morning kicks at all which is unsual because I normally feel him the minute I wake-nothing all day that I noticed but I have been busy.
3-4 big boofs earlier and now nothing again. He was mega mega active last night in the evening, it basically didn't stop from 6pm onwards and kept me awake til 1am. So I am just wondering if he's moved behind placenta or is just tired today.

At what point do you think-ok this is isn't right? i'm tempted to leave it til morning-I have felt him today it's not as if theres been total silence, just very much less than "normal"

Oeisha · 25/10/2011 22:09

mummyzoe Crikey! Though a psychic did tell me I would have twin boys first...and they'd be 6mths old by now if she was right...
