Join us as we head out of the secretive, scary, slightly sicky first trimester and into the bump emerging, supposedly blossoming, energy boosting second trimester.

Hello three and good luck!

bushy sorry and scary to hear ... I hope everything goes well, if they say it's "borderline" it might be nothing at all. Try to stay positive, although I know how hard that is.

As for me, I was the whole weekend in (normal) pain and my belly grow 1.5inches in 2 days, with me putting on 1lbs. Great sigh, nothing fits anymore and I'm wearing really, really uncomfy trousers at the moment.

My 20 weeks scan will be in 3 weeks as due late April - and we actually hope for a May baby.

Have you started to really enjoy the pregnancy yet? I'm still not sure ... sickness is gone, pain came. The only upside is, that I think I look a little bit pregnant now, which is nice.

To all of us, good luck as for some it's already half way!!

newmummyvicky · 22/11/2011 18:34

hi girls im 22weeks tomorrow,

Is anyone having trouble with their coat doing up?......
Ive been thinking about buying a MAT one, but dont really want to spend alot of money, be in it only for a few months. Any thoughts?
I did try a size 18 on in newlook and swamped me everywhere else but did up over my bump just, i normally take a size 14 pre bump- lol. Bump is really poker out now.

Been really tired lately and go to bad at 9pm most nights, ive sign up to free anti natal classes at my sure start center near me. Thats at lot of money for people that have to pay for them! not sure what they will be like?

Mackrelmint · 23/11/2011 11:21

big scarf/wrap/shawl to cover the bit in front that your coat doesn't cover newmummyvicky? Mine still does up but then I wear a big old fleece/anorak - very sexy!

HollyPockett · 23/11/2011 15:41

I am SO jealous of you all having your scans! Mine's next Tuesday and I'm dying to know what we're having - but I just know that the little monkey will hide and not play ball...or not!

Bushy sorry to hear of your worry too - hopefully it's what a lot of the ladies on the pregnancy thready said (I lurk all over Mumsnet!) and just something that they mention and turns out to be over precaution..

In other news, I am so excited about Christmas that I might actually burst before December!

digitalgirl · 23/11/2011 16:14

Hello all, scan went well! Baby measured within range, and all organs present and correct. Sonographer took a which to get a photo because everytime she tried to get the classic profile shot for our picture the baby kept turning it's head towards the camera. Lovely to see!

Now need to book my 28 week mw appointment.

Can I join late too!? Due April 16th. HollyPockett, my 20 week is also on Tuesday and I'm driving myself nuts second guessing a) if everything is ok and b) what sex the little tyke is - both based on my and my mum's very unscientific 'feelings'!

I never thought I would want to the sex but I feel very guilty at having a slight preference for a girl. I'll be delighted with any healthy baby of course but just don't want to be eyeing up tu-tus for the next 5 months. Tragic ;)

UniPsychle · 23/11/2011 19:23

Welcome to all new folks. Haven't posted for a while, RL keeps taking over, think I've caught up now. Congrats to all who've had scans - Bushy hope you get good news soon.

Had my scan on Friday, all well. Also found out that we're having a boy - didn't intend to find out, but he kept flashing his bits and it was obvious even to my untrained eye! It's taken a while to get used to as was convinced it was a girl based on the fact that I've been much sicker and weepier than I was with DS1. I am now very pleased though and I think knowing the gender will help me bond with bump better.

DS (3yrs) had first day at nursery today and went off without crying and stayed two whole hours having a whale of a time without missing me once apparently. I, on the other hand, was a nervous wreck, I brought a series of very random ingredients from Asda and then sat tearfully pretending to read the paper in a cafe for an hour, checking my watch every five minutes!

HollyPockett · 24/11/2011 15:34

Hi guys - I'm afraid I'm joining late as well!

I'm 29 and 20 weeks today with baby no 1, due on 12/04/12. I'm lucky enough to have felt physically fine with pregnancy but (bizzarely) that has made it very hard for me to actually accept I'm pregnant and I've spent the last 4 months in a state of high anxiety. My mood has dipped quite a lot and I've had to take some time off work as I'm feeling really depressed (probably due to the fact that I came off my antidepressants to get pregnant).

I have my 20 week scan tomorrow and am afraid to say I have worked myself up into a bit of a state about it - I'm so anxious!

On the plus side I've found a lot of comfort from mumsnet over the last few weeks - I'm afraid I've been a bit of a lurker!

Looking forward to making some new friends.

xxx

Hotpotpie · 24/11/2011 20:10

sparkydo thats be my ongoing problem having no symptoms im still not sure whats worse - none or loads!?

Good luck for tomorrow - Im having mine at 10am so again know just how you feel - make sure you let us know how you get on

Ive treated myself to a few bits off amazon black friday as well some of the deals were really good - OH is convinced that I didnt need my steamer/blender combo though the misery!! Oh and a pair of top shop work trousers which are lovely quality if anyone needs any, £20 so not a bank breaker

mumofwilliam · 24/11/2011 21:51

Looking forward to hear rest of news from others

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 25/11/2011 00:05

Hello ladies! Is there room for one more? I'm not due until 28th Apr, so I'm only 18 weeks on sat, and my 21 week scan is on Xmas week.

It would be lovely to get to know a few more people due around the same time as me. It's so exciting you're all having your scans and finding out the gender! We had a private scan at 16 weeks and we were told LO is probably a girl - hoping for confirmation at Xmas!

I'm intrigued by all the amazon deals! I'll have to check those out in the morning!

Sparkydo · 25/11/2011 10:54

Pleased to report all well with bubba - not that keen to be seen as all curled up but managed to get all the measurements and all looks fine. Opted not to find out sex!

HollyPockett · 25/11/2011 12:16

Great news sparkydo!

and welcome scream

It's all getting quite real now isn't it! My bump enters the room before I do at the moment, which seems to have grown a lot in the last week! Am 20 + 2 and haven't put any weight on at all.. Pip seems to have taken over :)

dreamc1 · 25/11/2011 16:41

Another here who has just had the 20 week scan 2day. All is with with munchkin. Couldn't get proper photos though as he/she was very stubborn and hiding away.
Still, the sonographer got all the measurements she needed, no probs at all. x

notso · 25/11/2011 17:32

Hello all, not been on this week, too obsessed with Black Friday! Was hoping in vain for a Bugaboo Donkey as thanks to DH and his dithering missed a bargain one on Ebay. Got a grey pearl bracelet for £33 instead of £125 though, Happy Christmas me.

Finally feeling movements but I think the placenta is definately infront of the baby. I still don't feel pregnant which is good but weird, have been swinging from extreme energy to extreme tiredness though.
Counting down until scan two weeks on Monday, still don't know whether to find out the sex or not though.

VintageNancy · 27/11/2011 08:22

Morning, I resisted Black Friday shopping as anything I buy has to be shipped. Brilliant bargains everyone though!

Ended up calling on-call doctor last night after a pain across the bottom of my abdomen had me doubled over. Got appt at clinic last night but no sign of UTI in urine. Dr gave me antibiotic prescription anyway and said to take if have more symptoms. All a bit weird really. Got midwife on Thurs so she'll test then anyway. Think I'll get tablets as I'll have a week or so when we get to US before we have any healthcare so worth having as back-up.

aprilfoolsbaby · 27/11/2011 09:53

It's good to see everyone's scans are going well. I'm 22 weeks - had scan 2 weeks ago and somehow resisted finding out the sex. Feeling very proud of myself. We just thought we're not having anymore after this one so a surprise would be nice.
I've not been on here for a while as in the last 3 weeks I've had 2 horrible stomach bugs and a really bad cough. To top things off DD has got chicken pox.
Is anyone else being really snappy? I'm terrible. I'm on a new team at work and I'm sure they think I'm a dragon. To be honest I'm so tired all the time it's such an effort to join in. Work's not been great as there's been loads of changes and I'm just counting down the time until I go off. Bad attitude I know especially as I'll have to go back there. I keep telling myself off.
I hope everyone is well - there doesn't seem to be much activity on here!

notso · 27/11/2011 10:37

Hi everyone. I am currently enjoying a leisurely morning, DH has taken DD to her dance show rehearsal, my Dad has taken DS1 to his rugby match and DS2 is having a nap...peace at last!

Vintage poor you hope you are feeling better.

aprilfools it is nice to have a surprise, DH has told me the sex of my three which is really special. This will be our last baby too, however we did say that after DC2!

I think most people on Dh's side want me to have a girl, the last four grandchildren have been boys and my DD is the only granddaughter. I think it might be a boy though.

I can't seem to get comfy at night anymore, my back and hips hurt however I lie. I don't think it helps having DS2 in our bed most nights either, we need to address that issue I think.

Bunsouttheoven · 27/11/2011 16:51

We have had stomach bugs & coughs hear too aprilfools. It has been awful but hopefully on the mend now, I have never done so much washing. Goodness knows how people coped with such bugs before they had washing machine.

I have my scan on tues, hope to find out the sex; I want to streamline some of the kids clothes I have stored, they take up so much space.

Must put myself back on the stats thread as I was inadvertently deleted on a newcomers cut & pasteGrin

Bunsouttheoven · 27/11/2011 17:58

Here!

newmummyvicky · 27/11/2011 19:39

Sorry to hear some of you having been un-well,
There is so much illness around at the monent, ive been trying to stay way from anyone that coughs at work, its starting to get so busy now im finding standing most of the day quite exhasting!!!!
But did sleep in till 11,30 today, quite unusal for me. must of needed it?

Im booked for my next midwife appontment on the 12th of dec, do they tend to lisen to the heartbeat again?
Ill be 23 weeks next week and i have to fill in my MAT form soon before the 15th wk before the baby is due. which is pretty soon, im planing on finishing on the 11th of feb, about 6/7 weeks before due date.

There is alot of us having boys, a few twins and a few girls! We are still unsure on our baby sex, but may think about having a 3d scan just to see him/her again.

Uglymush · 27/11/2011 21:30

Hi all,

Sorry haven't been on here for a while but had internet problems. Had my 20 week scan a couple of weeks ago but baby wouldn't lie still enough so going back on the 5th Dec. Can't wait as t means DH can be with me too as he was away for the last one.
I am now over halfway which is a little scary!
i hope everyone is keeping better soon.

KatAndKit · 28/11/2011 11:17

Mine's another boy! Had a lovely scan this morning and he is doing just fine in there by the looks of it. Got some lovely pictures too :)

It's very exciting having passed the half way mark. I still feel knackered much of the time and am having lots of pelvic pains and mood swings etc, but seeing MY SON (wow!!!!!!) on the screen makes it all seem worthwhile.

Nordicmom · 28/11/2011 11:54

Hi People! Sorry I've been quiet again . Been busy with DS and all the Christmas stuff etc. Passing time until our scan on the 13.12. In two weeks. The Suspense is driving me crazy .Jealous of all you lucky ones who've had your scans! I do want to find out if it's a Healthy baby and also really obsessed now finding about the sex because our surrogate just told us that they said to her that they were quite sure it's a girl in then13 w scan . Was so early thought that could have easily gotten it wrong . Now can't stop thinking about it... Also still trying to arrange our trip there . Just had a look at the flights. DS will have to miss a few days of school. In general feel disorganised and out of control which is very unlike me. There is uncertainty about how long we'll have to stay in the US after . According to the lawyer it could be from a few weeks to a couple months... Not something I want to start worrying about now. I guess it's one day at a time and in the end we'll get there . The legal process will probably take a year after so we won't be done with this until 2013 ! Could be easier...
