Wonderful news, BB3. Look at you! CS, twins and you're out soon. Brilliant. Aw, it's lovely to hear about your little ones too. Yay!

I woke up this morning all achey and had a minor panic but it's gone now. Baby needs to hang in there for another 48 hours until her daddy comes home and then she can do what she likes!

MamaMaiasaura · 21/09/2011 10:03

Sheh - sorry that baby still breech. Are they going to do a ecv? What heart problems do they think baby may have? My friends little boy has some problems and needed surgery after birth, but you'd never know it looking at him. Such a happy active little boy Smile

Bb3 - fantastic your baby girls are doing so well. Ad beautiful names. Wonder what thier big brother will think Smile My 3 year old is convinced I have baby Jake off cbeebies in my tummy lol. Glad to hear you are healing so well too. Was it a planned section? Take it nice and easy as a major op. Xxx

Penelope - how are movements today? Call your midwife if worried. 4 names is fine. My eldest has 2 middle names and double barrel surname. I now have 4 names as kept my maiden name as middle name as ds1 has it as part of his surname. He is from a previous relationship.
We still have firmly decided on names yet, no idea if boy or girl.

I've got little one off preschool again today, he's full of cough and cold. Enjoying cuddle time and 1 to 1 as all going to change soon.

MamaMaiasaura · 21/09/2011 10:07

Mpops - is he abroad? Hope baby behaves and stays put till he returns. When I was preg with ds2 i went into preterm labour at 36 weeks. I had to have steroids for lungs and they said definitely happening so hubby flew back from japan business class early (£4k!!). Then it all stopped once he touched down Blush oops. Didnt deliver till 39 weeks in end. He still has his job tho, but they've kept him in uk during this part of preg lol Grin

Morning all

BB3 lovely names, hope you and your girls get to go home soon :)

sassy glad 3rd Oct is a good day for a birthday! am not sure yet whether this baby will wait til then but it is such a guessing game!

scheherazade hope baby turns for you and you get some rest!

Went to hospital yesterday for a scan and ECV and had great news as the baby was behaving itself and was nicely head down. A big relief - I hadn't realised how much I was worried about the procedure. Last night no contractions at all - I had been winding DH up a bit saying it might all happen last night and he got a bit worried so feel a bit mean today!

Baby is a bit quieter today - perhaps conserving some energy before things start? But otherwise no signs of anything starting. At least hospital bag is finally packed and plans for DS1 are in place.

How is everyone else doing?

Scheherezade · 21/09/2011 10:32

Hello ladies! What an exciting, if ultimately uneventful night! After losing lots of mucus (yum) and increasing cramps/braxton hicks labour ward said to go on to be checked, in case it was beginnings of labour whilst baby in breech. But it all stopped when the monitor went on. Boo!
Midwife had a feel and got our hopes up by saying he had turned and as she was feeling I was getting the tightenings, so she felt it which made me feel better that I wasn't being paranoid(!) but a scan by the doc confirmed he was still head up :( anyway they said to go home and keep an eye on things, if they turned up again to go back in. But it's all pretty much stopped now - just normal braxton hicks tightenings. Got another scan on Thurs anyway, and then they'll do an ECV next week. And I still get my trip to Ikea tonight, although I have to get the BUS into town to meet DP Shock so who knows, maybe I'll be the classy lassy whose waters go on the bus, haha!

The doc also said I could have a vaginal breech birth as it wasn't any more risky than an ELCS - err, how about NO?! Pain much?! Told DP if the doc tried to make me then I'd ruddy well shove a pineapple up his bum!

Anyway, enough of my selfishness. BB3 you and babies are extraordinary :) isn't it wonderful, wow that you get to take them home so soon! Must be absolutely wonderful, I bet you are so excited! Nothing more adorable than twin girls - do they have much hair? I forsee lots of mixing up Ayse and Edie, like a bad 90s comedy film Grin How are you feeling after the CS - are you walking about? I hope your DP is taking good care of you! One night in hosp - isn't that amazing! Bet you can't wait to get home for a cuppa Grin congratulations :)

Not caught up with cupoftea yet, hope it's still good news. If so then that will be absolutely wonderful. October baby bus happiness :)

Good luck penelope - just call the ward if you're worried. Better to be safe than sorry :)

BB3 · 21/09/2011 10:58

scheh if you do on the bus you'll might get a free bus pass - talking I classy I wet into labour with DS in the middle of homebase!!! hopefully it's a sign that it is all kicking off though x

awen I was due to have a planned cs due to a horrendous case of placenta previa but I ended up having an emergency cs due to heavy blood loss after my placenta detached and contractions 3 mins apart.

Yes I'm up and about. Had to force them to let me out of bed at 2.30 yesterday afternoon as I was fed up of being sack in my own mess (literally the most disgusting feeling ever). You have to be strap up to catheter etc for 12 hours after but after 6 hours I had all feeling back and wanted to get up!!! I'm so impatient but that was the worst bit. Everyones different but felt fine so was up showered and dressed by 3.30 yesterday afternoon. Scar throbs slightly when you get up and down but other than that you hardly know it's there. Strangest thing though is tummy. After natural birth with DS my tunny flattened quite quickly but with cs and the swelling post op I still look about 5 months pregnant!!! AngryHmm

I'm lucky as babies were over 5pm they only need 'normal' monitoring and assessment as a singleton would so they were discharged at 7 this morning and I'm still waiting for the dr - hurry up jimmy!!

BB3 · 21/09/2011 10:58

5lb not 5pm

BB3 · 21/09/2011 11:02

Oh and dp is away until Friday (he got back to see them Tuesday) ad they have lots of hair Ayse has a moo of black hair, Edith-may very dark brown almost black hair slightly thinner but still lots. If I get home later I'll put a pic up on profile x although i have two more olive skinned dark haired children so I'm still the only pale blonde one in the family! Wink

wheelshavefallenoffthebus · 21/09/2011 11:29

hope you get let out asap BB3!

BabCNesbitt · 21/09/2011 12:36

What a busy new bus! Hello to the new people :)

Huge congratulations on your wee lassies, BB3, and good luck for an early discharge!

Wheels, good news about the baby turning! And I know what you mean, GroovyRach, about weird positions - the GP yesterday just put a question mark on my notes about her position, because what appeared to be her back was also where I'd been feeling kicks/punches (not quite sure which). And when I woke up this morning, there seemed to be two head-shaped bumps just below my ribs. Confused (35+1 today.)

Scheh, make sure you take a big pad with you on the bus into town! Grin

Such good news about cupoftea and Beatrice - keeping my fingers crossed for them both. :)

Scheherezade · 21/09/2011 12:50

crossing fingers for an early discharge for you bb3 - and very jealous you have two baby girls to take home :)

Will pad-up for the bus journey Grin

oh, and 37 weeks today !

mpops · 21/09/2011 12:55

Heh, do you really get a free pass if you give birth on public transport? There's something quite sweet about that although I'm not sure the experience would be that great...

Good luck Scheh! Sounds like you're on your way!

Awen, wow, your DH flying from Japan! Mine is in Greece for a conference so not as far but I'm still finding it quite hard. I have friends around and on the ready and hopefully it'll all be OK.

Quick question about the hospital bag: how many breast pads do I need to pack? Don't want to take a whole box if I don't need to because they take up so much space!

BB3 · 21/09/2011 13:28

I'm on my way home! Yay!!!

mpops depends on the company but most of them would give you something if you actually gave birth in a shop or on public transport - good publicity and all that!! Wink

sunface · 21/09/2011 13:45

woohoo!!!! Happy homecoming BB3 and your beautiful new additions!!!! x

Bubalie · 21/09/2011 14:03

It took ages to catch up on all the posts again, you can see now that most of us are on maternity leave and are on MN all the time.. I look forward to getting up in the morning and reading everyones news! I keep updating my DH as how many October babies we have already had - he thinks I'm crazy!

BB3 great news - can't believe you are already on your way home with your girls. Well done!!

I have had a lot of movement last night - quite painful not sure if baby was trying to turn or what, I think my bump has dropped a bit - is that a good sign Confused?! God mw appointment tomorrow so will see if she can shed some light, two weeks ago it was not engaged. Is everyone getting excited about babies being here soon? :)

37+4 today!

PenguinArmy · 21/09/2011 14:14

breastpads: I didn't take many. This time have packed about a dozen in a elastic band. I didn't wear a bra (or much of anything as was so hot) so only wore some for the journey home. Others are not as slack as me in the getting dressed department.

rebelwithoutababy · 21/09/2011 14:14

Hi all! So difficult to keep up now, esp as I am still at work (boo) and desperately trying to get everything finished, so can only rush through posts!

BB3 great names! SO impressed by you producing two bouncing babes and all being ready for home after 1 night! Congrats again.

Haven't had a chance to catch up with Cupoftea's thread, but glad to hear things seem to be looking up for her.

So exciting to hear all the news from those of you getting close: I think my bump has dropped too (and was not engaged 10 days ago either), but no other signs as yet, although DH a bit worried last night when he got home and I was having manic clear-out of entire house and washing everything in sight...he thinks it's a sign I'm nearly there!

2 days left at work after today!

37+3 today xx

MamaMaiasaura · 21/09/2011 14:22

Yay BB3 congratulations on getting home. Smile x

Scheherezade · 21/09/2011 14:24

TMI from me again, experienced mums please tell me am not just being mad!

have just been doing hoovering-behind-heavy-objects and felt some more come away. Had a look and wet-through knickers with liquid, a bit of blood stained mucus but its all liquid, went to the toilet straight away and it sort of 'spurted' out, but that was probably just wee?. Now it wasn't a gush as in a bucket emptying in my trousers, and it's not trickling anymore. Was having regular BH but they don't seem to be in any sort of pattern or building up I don't think, so i really don't think it's labour. Show must be all gone by now as lost lots yesterday morning, evening and more 'dropped away' when I stood up this morning Blush

So - I rang DP to say I didn't want to get on the bus just in case, but we'll still plan to go to ikea (I bloody well will get to that place!). Have popped pad in, will see what happens over the next couple of hours. Am going to emergency wash baby whites!

I don't want to assume something is happening (like was the worry last night) - is this me being sensible? Ward are aware of me after last night, and I don't want to become the mad woman who calls up every time she feels a twinge. I probably just a) lost more show b) wet myself, and still have 5 weeks to wait, as I'm only 37 weeks, and this is my first.

I am being hypochdriac.

Scheherezade · 21/09/2011 14:24

a hypochondriac

Scheherezade · 21/09/2011 14:28

argh, just deleted some of the post by accident!!!

BB3 thats ruddy well wonderful!! What excellent, excellent news :) hope you enjoy your little baby girls when you get home! Not sure of the rules for c-sec, but get a nice warm bath and lots of snuffly cuddly baby snuggles :) You've done brilliantly, well done you!

mpops I packed 10 thick ones, but our hospital has a maternity shop you can buy them from for cheapo if needs be. You can always take them out the box and squish them down to make space.

78cupcake · 21/09/2011 14:51

Hi all,
Been reading posts over past few weeks and am keen to jump on board the October baby bus. Due 26th, but as it's my first I expect it will be more like November before anything happens.... I'm therefore reading all these birth signs green with envy Envy!! Congrats to BB3 tho - very exciting to have two little ladies!
Looking forward to experiencing these last few weeks with you ladies x

GroovyRach · 21/09/2011 15:04

hello all!!

glad to hear everyone is still hanging in there! great news bb3 getting home so fast. you must be a pro at it all! cant wait to see photos of your new girlies Smile

scheh what an eventful night for you! its so annoying when its so stop start. wish things would just get on with it!

im not feeling so great today. had a terrible sleep last night. woke up so many times with an awful pain right on my pubic bone. had alot of pain there when i was around 20 weeks but it calmed down and all has been fine, but the past few days its back and worse than ever! going right round into my back now, im struggling to even stand up straight Sad. also got a terrible head ache, feel sick/weak and just in general blah!! might go back and have a lay down, see if i can sleep. dont know if i should call hospital and ask to go up and be checked over? dont see my mw again until next tue!

does anyone know aswell if i can ask to be induced at 39 weeks? do i need to have a valid health reason?

xx

Scheherezade · 21/09/2011 15:14

You're right groovy - just wish I had a green and red light on me, and they would light up to let me know if it meant anything or not! However, I might just be kidding myself - you can lose the plug weeks before labour, I just keep repeating that over and over in my head!

I'd call your midwife or GP - get your BP checked. Hot water bottle for the pain! Don't think you can ask to be induced before your due date unless they've got a medical reason sadly :( But it's not long now!!

Leo4 · 21/09/2011 15:28

groovy I don't think they induce you until nearly 42 weeks unless its a valid health reason..because they say it means baby is not ready! However I know some people who have gotten around it...by being pains in the ass and keep going into hospital..but its whether you want to do it or not...if your finding it hard...you should!
