I have washed the fitted sheet for Moses basket and a blanket which I'll use in it but not the lining or the wee quilt thing that came with it.

rebelwithoutababy · 20/09/2011 12:22

Congratulations BB3!! Wonderful news about girls, and brilliant sizes! Hope bleeding settles soon and you can enjoy your newly expanded family...

So so sorry to hear about cupoftea and keeping her and her family in my prayers.

Exciting news about everyone else's "signs"...I have none so far [sigh]

37 + 2 today

BB3 · 20/09/2011 12:26

Hello all just quickly marking my place on the thread.

Welcome 25

scheh have you called labour ward with bloody discharge? They might want you to come and get checked.

littlepebble they are not identical but very close to it in looks. It's very hard to tell them apart in pictures but in real life they have subtle differences.

Bleeding has calmed down - no more clotting just normal post pregnancy bleeding. Desperately want a shower so hoping I van get off this bed after lunch.

Sorry if I've missed anyone's news xxxx

Scheherezade · 20/09/2011 12:37

Glad you're feeling better BB3 - can't believe you've got two little baby girls now, how adorable!

I've not called labour ward, just assumed it was a normal thing? Am seeing a HCP in an hour so will ask her opinion. Baby was v.quiet yesterday, but has been moving about lots this morning. Will keep an eye on stuff 'down there', and of course keep MN updated Grin

right. back to tidying upstairs.

cheekydino · 20/09/2011 12:48

Quick message to mark place and say good morning. Just had my final midwife appt before CS next weds. Getting scared now! She marked my size on the graph, or rather above the graph, and said she bets I'm glad I'm having a CS now! Made me feel like I've made the right decision at least.

Some good news re cupoftea on her thread - she has just said that the original diagnosis was wrong and it's not Edwards, seems to be a more positive prognosis now.

Welcome 25!

Scheherazade - sounds like you are on your way, hope you get some rest between running around!

Glad your bleeding has calmed down BB3, let us know how the CS was when you get chance!

Mimatchin · 20/09/2011 14:21

Hi there I am also reading you for weeks and thoughts it is time to introduce myself...

Engelsmeisje Am 37+1 and just started mat leave as well...I am just getting ready with all papers and baby stuff, maternity bags etc...

Birth plan also still wondering if I ll go natural...It is a hard decision to make, between speeding up the process, as painlessly as possible and go home or just listen to nature...arghh I do not know what to think!?!

scheh-Groovy Baby seems stuck also sometimes

I just feel supa tired today, I've had GP appointment yesterday she thinks that my glucose level is too high I might have gestational diabetes but I cannot get any blood test appointment before friday the 30th at 11:30 after a night fast...I am a bit worried now, is it safe to wait so long??

BB3 Congratulation!!! Hope your bleeding has stopped.

All my thoughts to cupoftea:(

Mimatchin · 20/09/2011 14:33

In fact HURRAY!!! for cupoftea and little Beatrice :))))

Scheherezade · 20/09/2011 14:56

fab news re; cupoftea - Beatrice is GORGEOUS aswell! Almost makes me wish I was having a baby girl Grin

can't believe we now have 3 October babies!

HCP told me to wait & see - good news that baby is active again today, don't need to ring ward till waters go. If bleeding gets heavier I'll ring up, but it's stopped now. If anything at least it's spurred DP into action Grin

mimatchin - I think it just happens how it happens, I'm not sure you can speed up the process really - unless you're booked in for induction due to medical reasons!

GroovyRach · 20/09/2011 14:59

Oh so glad to hear happy news for cupoftea. Such an awful time for her and her family, but good to hear things are looking up Smile

Painting and tidying up all done Grin. Now I'm gonna have a cup of tea and try do some more of the baby blanket iv been crocheting for the little lady. Been making pink and white squares with the idea of stitching all together when I'm done. That's the plan, who knows if it will happen lime that tho! Then a shower/hair washed/legs shaved later so that if things kick off through the night, atleast I'll be semi presentable Grin

U had anymore show scheh?

Bumpsadaisie · 20/09/2011 15:04

Hooray for CupofTea and Beatrice x 2! Grin Grin

Huge congrats to BB3 - well done you! Can't wait to hear their names!!! Have you introduced them to your DS yet?

Exciting times to all those who are all getting close with twinges, cramps, leaks, shows, and all the dignified rest of it!

For all those of us who are at 34/35/36 weeks and still just outside the drop zone - courage and patience!

Minor drama here last week - had serious period pains on Thursday at 35+1 - was admitted to hospital overnight but it all settled down. Ruled out infection/pre eclampsia all the rest of it so it must have just been one of those things. But being on the labour ward etc really brought it all home to me that we are having a baby soon - DH and I came home and washed all the kit and he madly reconditioned the pram Grin

I was advised to start mat leave and not travel which is great as it got me out of a busy last two weeks at work. The difference between 2 weeks ago and now is quite extreme - at 34 weeks I was pretty much functioning normally, albeit tired at night. Now I'm staggering around, exhausted after the smallest thing, the baby feels massive and when he moves its so intense he makes my eyes water! My pelvic joints are all aching and going a bit floppy. Definitely time to slow it down.

Lots of little boy clothes arrived from John Lewis just now and I suddenly got very excited - all those bold primary colours and no pink! Its just dawned on me that I am having a son, I think!

DD continues to be very sweet and excited about the baby.

36 +0 weeks and asking him very nicely to turn up in about 10 days time - nicely cooked, but prompt.

Bubalie · 20/09/2011 15:05

Such a wonderful news about cupoftea and little Beatrice. I am so happy!

Scheh things look like they are moving on for you too. Exciting!!

Welcome 25 and BB3 glad bleeding has calmed down!

I have also washed everything all baby clothes, moses basket stuff, cot bedding and bumper etc.. Probably my nesting thing - today I have been cooking for the freezer - stew in the oven I don't know what's happening to me Confused!!!!

LittlePebble · 20/09/2011 15:08

Yay for cupoftea best news!

BB3 any news on names [impatient face] Wink xxxxx

happymummytobe · 20/09/2011 15:45

Hello all

Am feeling really emotional today. Had my 36 week midwife check today and my bp is up, bit of protein in my wee and I'm all puffy (face and fingers now in addition to feet and ankles). So I've had a blood test to see if it might be pre eclampsia. Obviously hoping for the best and baby is absolutel fine, but if it is pre eclampsia they said they probably won't let me go to 40 weeks. Which is fine, I'd happily have him out today (!) but I don't really want to be induced. Would actually probably prefer a c section but don't think that's an option at my hospital (unless absolutely unavoidable). Hate waiting and not knowing and just want to know the baby is safe. I know you'll all understand that!

So brilliant to read everyone's news - all the shows, aches etc that mean the babies are on their way!!

Sorry for emotional blurting - just feeling a bit unwell today and scared.

On the plus side, I moved the cot into our room today and made it up! And my hospital bag us nearly packed too. The baby's bag is definitely packed which was SO fun to do!

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 20/09/2011 15:57

Hi all, great news for cupoftea and little Beatrice!
Congrats on babies BB3 also impatient to hear names Grin
well I've just hoovered entire house! (which includes 2 sets of stairs) and have developed shakes! Possibly need to tone down cleaning!

Was so annoyed with DH this morning, I wanted a lie in so he should have gotten up with DS as I was still really tired!

DH said I didn't need any extra sleep and insisted I get up with them. He later said I was at it and pregnancy couldn't possibly be that tiring as baby is basically grown Angry selfish twat!!

I told him I was telling u all to see what u said and predicted u would tear him to pieces Grin

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 20/09/2011 15:57

Oh and 36+1 today

Scheherezade · 20/09/2011 16:11

What a twat! For that I would simply refuse to do anything anymore. Honestly - baby is basically fully grown - i.e. you have a FULLY GROWN baby in your belly which your body is having to look after! Am lucky that my DP is very precious with me, to the point where he actually gets annoyed with me if I do anything he deems 'too much' - including changing the bed sheets now apparently! However, it is our first so no doubt he'll be a lot more apathetic about the next one Grin (could also to be with me constantly whining and moaning and telling him it's HIS fault I am in this state, and as HE doesn't have to go through it then I'll make him bloody well suffer!)

Nothing more to update. Baby has been trying to turn all day still, at least 5 attempts of him going sideways, staying there for a while and falls back into breech. My nurse said she thought the show was probably due to the rough & tumble of him pressing on cervix.

DP emailed me from work asking how things were - i replied to say that the show stopped around 11am, and I've not had any dripping waters, so it could still be weeks as could just be a sign my cervix is just softening up.

He replied with "I love it when you talk sexy :/"

Grin

Yes! BB3 we demand names!

sorry to hear that mummytobe - at least the doctors are looking after you & baby.

Bumpsadaisie · 20/09/2011 16:19

Mummytobe

Sorry you've had a bit of drama at your end. FWIW, I was induced with DD and it was fine and recovery much quicker than with a cx.

Don't be afraid!

Bumps x

happymummytobe · 20/09/2011 16:29

Thank you scheh and bumps. I'm lucky to be so well looked after and yes, induction will be best route (if it comes to that).

Will have a quiet evening and all will seem better tomorrow I'm sure!

Bit overwhelmed by cupoftea's update. So happy for her and such beautiful photos!

BB3 hope recovery is going well.

mpops · 20/09/2011 17:02

Huge congratulations BB3! Really excited to read your post. Hope you recover soon!

CheshireDing · 20/09/2011 17:06

Gosh I go to work, come home we have a new thread and 40 odd posts!!

Congratulations BB3 :) Twins girls sounds so lovely.

Welcome newbies :)

Gripes today:-
Little toe is sore and looks enlarged
Thighs are definitely enlarged
Boobs are MASSIVE
Am super tired
Ladies bits are aching
Want to get to the end of this week so if Porgey decides to turn up we can stay at home
Whinge over.

Mera I have washed everything, including the padding on the side of the moses basket and the cover on the changing mat because if you sniff them they are smell a bit chemically (plus they have those silica gel things in so I figure could have been hanging round a store room for ages)

Chin up HMTB :)

Edward outrageous statement, did he really mean it? :(

6.5 days left at work

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 20/09/2011 17:41

I think he meant it when he said I had had enough sleep, but maybe was half joking about pregnancy being "that bad" etc

To be fair to him he has done a lot of housework/diy lately, and he is a bit precious about me lifting/stretching now. He won't be happt when he comes home and sees I've hoovered the stairs (we live in a townhouse and have really heavy cumbersome hoover)

He is also a little bit of a control freak in that if he's had a picture in his head about how something will go he gets annoyed/upset if it doesn't go to plan, so I think he just had it in his head that we would all eat breakfast together and do "family activity" before he went to work and my wanting to lie in disturbed this. I did get up but he still didn't get his family morning as I wasn't speaking to him and DS watched cartoons Grin

sassy34264 · 20/09/2011 17:43

congrats bb3 two girls- sooo cute! will solve the name problem then.

i haven't read all the thread yet as been mad busy. had to take jacob to a+e this morning ans spent half the day there. jacob has croup. he has had a dose of steroids. its just a case of waiting now for it to go.

mum had to take us, so she has had the day off and we have spent the rest of the time trying to get straight, with beds, clothes, whose having what drawers etc. not finished yet. will read and post properly later.

happymummytobe · 20/09/2011 17:45

Edward definitely think your DH is being unfair. The last month or so is exhausting and as we all know it's hard to sleep well. Hope he has a change of heart - and soon!

OP posts:
cheekydino · 20/09/2011 18:25

Oh sassy, that's horrid, poor Jacob. My ds has had croup 4 times in the last year, but luckily the first bout was the worst. It is the most terrifying thing when you first hear it. Fingers crossed he is over it soon. X

mpops · 20/09/2011 18:40

Good luck sassy. That's the last thing you need now. Poor kiddo!

I'm so happy about cupoftea's news, I can't believe it. I can't imagine what a mad few days that poor girl and her family have had. Things are looking up around here!

happymum, I'm sure you'll be fine. Had a lot of ups and downs with my bp too and worrying about the baby but you're well looked after and that's the most important thing. Thinking of you. Try and relax as much as you can.

And good luck to everyone who's on the cusp of labour. I'm on my own for three days while DH is abroad at a conference and I'm crossing my legs nervously...

37+6 today
