Hey all

Sorry I can't remember all individual questions but here goes:

Names: baby girl one is Edith-May (Ede for short). baby girl two is Ayse-Rose (pronounced Ayshea).

DS met them this afternoon. He pretty much ignored them and was very cuddly with me but towards the end he started climbing up their cots and peering into them - we just let him potter around them and go at his own speed.

Cs. Cs itself was absolutely fine. Perfectly enjoyable chatting to all the staff. You feel a bit of rumbling around in there but that's it and I quite enjoyed the numbness feeling and weightlessness. The only bit I didn't like was because it was an emergency cs they weren't all prepare and waiting for me and we were rushed over so I was in theatre while they were prepping and discussing everything about the surgery that did make me feel a bit nervous and anxious about it. The spinal also took a few goes but that's my difficult back as was same with DS and epidural. Recovery is fine. Spinal was in at midnight and I was no longer numb about 6 hours later. Hospital left me strapped up a bit too long so was uncomfortable at end but as soon as I was detached and showered felt very good.

Shock at comments from DH although if I'm honest it is something my DH would say in a grump and not really mean it. As would I if the roles were reversed.

Am cream crackered now and ready for bed. Got evening visiting to get through though then it's bed time xxxx

BB3 · 20/09/2011 18:47

sassy poor DS he's had a bit of a tough time lately.

Cupoftea's news is amazing and makes today even better xxxx

happymummytobe · 20/09/2011 19:10

sassy hope Jacob feels better very soon.. Poor thing!
edward cross posts - hope tonight's more harmonious Smile

Am finally home, supper in the oven and looking forward to some mindless tv and an early night. Phew. Thanks for being so kind alk of you.

BB3 Beautiful names! Any idea when you can go home?

sassy sending sympathies to you and Jacob
edward am shocked at your DH sometimes

but it is really good to know that others including first timers are exhausted as well.

also thanks for the sympathies yesterday, ankle much better today though arse still hurts.

Saw MW today, DD was brilliant considering she missed a nap and had just had two jabs. It was the first time I had taken her to one as she's at that funny age. Measuring a bit larger now 33cm at 36+3 MW reckons I shouldn't have a problem getting a CS so just wait until thurs now

oh nearly forgot BB3 beautiful names and congratulations

mpops · 20/09/2011 19:35

What cute names, BB3. Aw! It's wonderful that you're all doing so well.

TallyBear · 20/09/2011 20:48

Great news for cupoftea, so pleased it's not as bad as thought.

Yay for BB3. Well done.

Who's next?

Like others, I'm getting so tired and it's difficult to move about. I'll be so glad to finish work this week. I'm sure my DH thinks i'm just having 4 weeks holiday.

Sconesfortea, I know what you mean about it being so unreal. So far for us to go yet, although it will be here before we know it and those having babies now will be old hands and able to give us loads of lovely advice!

I hadn't thought about having to wash the moses basket liner - something else to add to the 'to do' list...

Me and my highly moving bump are sat here with a big cup of decaff, a bag of Crunchie Rocks, a bag of Caramel Nibbles and the Great British Bake Off! Heaven.

35+2, 3 days left at work!

Scheherezade · 20/09/2011 21:14

Just borrowed partners phone- lost loads more show plus cramping. Rang ward and they've asked us to come in to be checked as babys in breech. Sat waiting in hosp now!

GroovyRach · 20/09/2011 21:31

Oh scheh I think your next!!! I'm not bitter at all EnvyEnvyEnvyEnvyEnvyEnvyEnvy

sunface · 20/09/2011 21:33

so happy for cupoftea, hope things start to improve for her and her family xx

sunface · 20/09/2011 21:35

meant to also ask, has anyone else been getting Braxton Hicks? even though this is my 3rd DC, i've never had them before and think that's what i've been getting the last few days, including a lot of 'emptying of bowels' sorry if TMI!!!!!

Scheherezade · 20/09/2011 22:09

Probs just false alarm! Beautiful names bb3 :)

MamaMaiasaura · 20/09/2011 22:14

Finally got this on iPhone Grin can I rejoin the bus? Still due 22nd. Had scan today to check growth, looking good and baby head is well done in pelvis so tricky to measure head. Weight is looking at about 6lb3 at mo, tho they said not hugely accurate and likely bigger going by femur length and tummy. Still don't know gender, asked them not to tell me. Pumpkin got hiccups right now Grin

How's all the rest of you lovely ladies doing? Have we had any arrivals yet?

MamaMaiasaura · 20/09/2011 22:16

Oh and I got married on 2nd sept too :) brilliant day x

Penelope1980 · 20/09/2011 22:30

Nice names bb3!

What a busy thread now more of us are off work! I am getting used to this not being at work business, it's nice - thought I'd be bored, but between crazy bouts of cleaning, reading, mumsnet and going to meet people I haven't had time.

I am 38+6 today, and suddenly feel like my body doesn't want to be pregnant anymore. Hopefully that means it's not too far away - midwife said 60% of her babies are born within 4 days of their due date, so hopefully that will be next week ...

I haven't felt as many kicks today as usual, so am drinking cold drinks and hoping he gets moving soon - I have felt the odd movement but nothing like the frantic riverdancing of recent days.

Does anyone else have weird pains in their feet? I've had that in the last couple of days and it makes sleeping even more of a pain, it's like the nerve endings are going beserk or something.

Penelope1980 · 20/09/2011 22:33

Oh and hi Awen!

sunface I've been getting sporadic braxton hicks and the 'emptying', but that's been going on for over a week now alas. Makes me wonder sometimes if the pains I had over a week ago that I thought was labour starting were actually a stomach upset. Who knows.

sassy34264 · 20/09/2011 22:37

wow! 60odd messages in one day!
gonna try and remember some of it! Grin
wheelsfelloffthebus (i think) its my birthday 3rd oct, so a v good day to have a baby.Wink
sorry to hear about pre eclamsia symptoms -sorry forgot who posted.
hello to all the new arrivals and returners.
scher and groovy i think the race is on with you two!
edward i would have calmly said, go and get me a rucksack with at least 2 stones worth of rocks in it and we'll hang it around your neck all day long and see how tired you get. tsk!
bb3 lovely names, i remember you posted about edith may before after your grandmothers- i think.
that is such good news for cupoftea and her family, im so happy for them.
cheeky poor ds getting croup 4 times!!!!! im worried isobel might get it next. is it contagious? he seems ok in himself- eating and playing, but he just sounds horrendous with the struggling to breath and the barking seal cough. its awful listening to him. it hurts your heart. Sad

seasaltbaby · 20/09/2011 22:43

Congratulations bb3, fantastic news & beautiful names! xx

MamaMaiasaura · 20/09/2011 22:58

Penelope - I Thought babies went quieter when close to delivery so fingers crossed it will be soon for you Smile. Lots of cramping here but I reckon it's my body getting ready in advance as had similar on prev pregs.

Nice to be able to get on here again. I take it BB3 had her baby/babies? So out of touch on here. if so huge congratulations!!

Is there a Facebook group set up for us? I am in contact with other mums from antenatal thread on here from ds2, and would be nice to do same here.

Off to bed as ds2 not well and coughing all night and last night so not much sleep.

Xx

Leo4 · 20/09/2011 23:23

Loving the names BB3....:)
So much posting going on today! very tired ...post tomorrow! Scherezade keep us posted!

Penelope1980 · 21/09/2011 00:12

Awen I hope you are right! He is moving a little though after me drinking ice cold water so am less worried.

This talk of BB3's lovely names have got me thinking about names again. Do you think that 4 names is too many? I want to use my maiden name (which I have kept) as a middle name, and am trying to decide if we should give him one more as well - the plan is that all my DCs will have my maiden name as a middle name.

Scheherezade · 21/09/2011 00:14

Well now I'm on monitor things seem to have stopped! Baby appears to have turned though, docs going to scan to check then I should be fine to go home, stealing DPs phone so will read through thread at home!

Scheherezade · 21/09/2011 00:16

We didn't think was labour, just worried re; breech & poss heart probs we know sbout

Leo4 · 21/09/2011 00:17

No not too much..considering you don't get referred to by all your names anyway! plus if you want to individualise your children a bit more so they have one different middle name as well as all having your maiden name...but it's really as case of whether it feels right for you!

Scheherezade · 21/09/2011 00:34

Baby still breech (had scan 2confirm) going home as tightenings less. Knackered!

BB3 · 21/09/2011 08:07

Good morning lovely ladies. Well I managed 4 hours sleep last night which compared to 0 the night before after the section wa a massive improvement AND while I'm trying not to get my hopes up they said I mint be discharged today. The girls have been discharged because they are brilliant so just me to get through obgyn and the day staff. Going to keep DS off nursery just in case as don't want him coming back to a house full of babies!!! I'm so excited - I'd mentally prepared myself for a week in this horrible place and now I might get to go home after officially one night!

The girls are adorable they are morphing into each other as Ayse pinks up a bit and Edith's skin softens so it's getting harder to tell them apart. At the mo Ayse had a tiny mark from labour on her eye so that's how others do it but that will be gone soon. Wink

Anyway sending baby birthing vibes to you all xx
