Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
louby86 · 01/11/2011 11:43

Hello! Will catch up with everyone in a bit, just wanted some advice because I'm in a bit of a panic! I woke up and could hardly move my right leg when I tried to get out of bed, went to sit on the loo and cried it hurt so much! I've got a shooting pain from my hip socket, round my back a little then in between my legs and halfway down my thigh, all on the same side. What is it? I've rang the midwife in a panic, she's put me through to the ante natal assessment unit at the hospital and they've told me to take paracetemol and then call them back in an hour and they'll decide if I need to go to a GP or go into hospital! Sorry for the long post and sorry if its something trivial that everyone gets at some point, I've just never had it before and got a bit worried Blush

PamBeesly · 01/11/2011 11:59

Oh louby I wish I could say oh yeah have had that but sorry I didn't, its most likely just another of the million 'peculiarities of pregnancy' it seems everything is. A very unpleasant and worrying one though. I did have really awful pains in my hips a few days ago but I put it down to stretcng and my fall. Do come back on and let us know.

I've had really bad diarrhoea and nausea today :( I don't know why but the baby is moving about so I'm not too concerned. The smell of everything is turning my stomach its like the first 14 weeks all over again.

Woowa sorry he didn't get this job, fingers crossed for the next one and people always say 'God works in mysterious ways' cold comfort though

Good luck at the scan babycarmen

Hope you had a brilliant birthday innocent

23+4

deardear · 01/11/2011 12:56

louby it sounds like sciatica to me.

QueenFee · 01/11/2011 13:19

Louby hope that baby has moved now and your pain free

Deardear have added you on fbook :)

Having a much better day today. Amazing how much better I feel after a good nights sleep!

Tmi warning. How is everyone dealing with their ladygardens now they can no longer see them? I handed over responsibility to dh but he too it so seriously I shaved myself this morning and gave myself a shaving cut aghhhhhhhhh!

PamBeesly · 01/11/2011 13:51

QueenFee I had a little laugh at your TMI because I'm on an AIBU thread about whether or not people tend to their area! Its quite heated over there....sheesh. I've never tended to mine and don't intend starting :) thats how I manage :)

Xavielli · 01/11/2011 14:36

Haha QueenFee I used to shave the whole lot off but since I can't see to cultivate properly I just do the sides/bikini line so I don't turn into Captain Pantsbeard.

deardear · 01/11/2011 14:50

shall i make you all laugh?

i used to work on a farm as a dairy herd manager. i never had any real interaction with women until i retrained aged 33 after having DD2. When i started proper work full time in the office i worked in then i had to ask what a brazilian was!!

still a mystery to me how many women actually do take the lot off. i can still reach and give myself a short back and sides every so often. not sure about taking it all off though! do you use cream or razor? pretty sure DD1 takes all hers off aged 14 1/2 as although she keeps everything covered up now i did spot a towel slip the other week (i didnt let on btw)

thanks for the adds. please feel to add me. my profile pic is of my youngest daughter jumping her pony :)

phlossie · 01/11/2011 15:02

I am captain pantsbeard - and I wear a swimming costume to work, so it's not pretty! But I can't see it, so hey ho. I'm with you deardear - don't really get why anyone would want a bald fa-jo-jo. My friend said she loved it because hers looked like - and I quote - "a baby mouse". And that's a good thing? I've creamed, shaved, waxed and epilated (not all at once) and always get bad ingrown hairs, and I wouldn't want those all over! It would be more naked mole rat with chicken pox than anything else.

I'm EXHAUSTED - really not sleeping well atm.

babycarmen · 01/11/2011 15:45

Teeeeeeam PINK. So so happy and excited. :) the scan was amazing! Will update when I get home, on the train right now!

Xavielli · 01/11/2011 15:53

Yay Babycarmen! How exciting... I really want to know what team I'm on. I bet your DD is chuffed to be having a wee sister!

phlossie · 01/11/2011 16:14

Hurray babyc - you thought girl, didn't you?

I'm feeling huuuuuge today and very tired and pissed off. So I found a photo of me 3 days overdue with DD. It's fair to say I've got a bit more growing to do! I've posted the photo on my profile so you can have a good laugh!

notcitrus · 01/11/2011 16:53

Have just spent since 11am on the phone to sort out sodding insurance...
However am unreasonably excited to find that my borough now do £40 vouchers towards real nappies, including from Babykind who were my favourite supplier last time, so can choose more adorable ones!
www.realnappiesforlondon.org.uk/wherewhatwho/

And feeling much less crap - bad news is I'll have to go back to work! Oh well, it's only 6 weeks until Christmas and mat leave.

Have no idea how to find people on Facebook... feeling very old!

Squiglettsmummy2bx · 01/11/2011 17:13

Great minds think alike. I am in the bath & was pondering shaving my legs & more delicate areas but I don't think I can be bothered. When I bend for too long baby suffocates me & as for my bits, no one is going to see them other than ex if I feel too deprived Blush & he is so desperate for me to take him back that he wouldn't dare comment even if he wanted too, lol.
I can't say this on fb incase any of my rl friends see it but I fear I am being too enthusiastic about my pregnancy as I am getting some seriously snide comments about being bored by the time baby comes (dd is 8 & I'm not bored of her yet!) only pregnant woman in the world (nah look I've just added loads more as fbfriends) why I need such an expensive pram & why does a baby that can't walk need shoes etc. I am retaliating by posting photos of all my lovely baby stuff on my profile coz I'm a pita like that Wink
Well I better decide about hair removal & sort myself out, lol x

deardear · 01/11/2011 17:15

woohooo babyc! so exciting seeing what team everyone is playing for.

i lost my wedding ring last night. went to do the ponies and DD2 was being a bit cocky and i flew into one of the stables and threw some shavings down and think it flew off then. i noticed when i went into the field and just burst into tears. if the DD had listened to me in the first place it wouldnt have happened. i am gutted - DH has said we will buy another one but its the 16 years of blood sweat and tears that has gone into that one :( always thought people were being daft when they cried when they lost their wedding ring. good job i had to go straight out to work at the pub or i do think murder would have been committed. poor DD said mum is there anything you want me to do and i said no just go where i cant see you! how terrible is that.

melliebobs · 01/11/2011 17:32

Congrats on the girl babycarmen well jealous of all you lot that are in the know!

I feel like poop today :( seem to have a full on cold. Thought I'd go into work Cos I have a relatively easy day. But had to cover a health walk. Christ almighty I've never been in so much pain afterwards! Everything aches anyway but the group walked soooooo slow I had the worst hip n back pain when we got back and now I'm stiff as a board and I don't even have a bath at home to jump into :( I mean a 1.4 mile walk in 44 minutes?! I was dragging my feet and still leaving them behind. Eurgh Angry I think 2 mew is going to be my first sick day in 18 months!!! 1 hr left at work at god knows how long it's going to take to get home cos all 3 motorways near me have shut and now the roads are chaos. Bed please

Xavielli · 01/11/2011 17:40

Had some really good news today! Been having problems with landlord/housing benefit from when DP was out of work and it's all been resolved and we are going to be alot better off than we thought. This has been ongoing pretty much since I found out I was pregnant this time so it is a complete weight off my shoulders. I can feed my kids again! Yay!

deardear Oh no that is so sad! My Dad lost his a few weeks ago and was inconsolable! It did turn up in the end so here's hoping it does for you too (without too much pooh combing!)

notcitrus Glad you are starting to feel better... boo to being on the phone all day... seems I've been doing the same atleast once a week for the last 6 months! No more! Yay!

Squiglettsmummy2bx - Ignore them! No such thing as a baby bore! People always find something to complain about on FB anyway..

Squiglettsmummy2bx · 01/11/2011 17:47

Thanks xavielli, that's great news about your housing benefit Grin

deardear · 01/11/2011 17:52

has anyone bought cots yet (if you need one this time)

currently trying to decide whether to get a 2nd hand one off ebay or just go and buy one for around £80 odd quid from mothercare.

Sugar80 · 01/11/2011 18:45

dear dear, I lost my nan's eternity ring (that I inherited) while doing my horse in the summer. It turned up in her hayrack 3 days later - god knows how it was still there! I'm sure your wedding ring will turn up.

Woowa, sorry to hear your DH didn't get the job

babycarmen Yay! Another one on team pink!!!

Um, what else... Facebook is www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=520876827 (profile pic is said horse!)

I'm getting really uncomfortable sitting in the car. Not ideal as I have a 1 hour commute to work. The seat belt goes right across my bump, and whatever I wear seems to dig in... not sure what to do about it.

Also, I've got varicose veins in the back of my knee! Most unattractive!!

Xavielli · 01/11/2011 18:47

Re: cots, I bought a second hand one from eBay for £20 when preg with ds2 then bought a decent mattress from mothercare. This time I'm hoping to keep titch in a crib/moses basket until ds is ready to go into a bed so I don't end up with two cots.

Someone asked earlier about the great bedding debate, here is my view.
Moses basket: absolutely wonderful for first baby as you can easily move baba where ever you go around the house without disturbing them. Ds1 was in his til 6 months as he was tiddly. With dd and ds2 I just went straight for a cot as (a it worked out cheaper and (b there was no sense in having something that could be easily knocked over by grabby siblings .

Cribs: adorable, but unless you are given one/ buy second hand they really aren't worth the money for the short time you use them.

Cots: buy 2nd hand and pay for a decent mattress!

You've just linked back to this thread, Bill!

hermionejgranger · 01/11/2011 19:41

re: ladygardening - I'm so glad others are discussing this - it has been top of the pops in our house and dh thinks it is very amusing that my fanjo is now out of line-of-sight. I'm planning on giving him control of the pubigon so he can make sure I'm all neat and tidy and not tobacco smuggling! I love "Captain Pantsbeard" though - not heard that one before!

sugar I've added you on FB

notcitrus if you go to your profile and copy-paste the page address here we can click on it and add you :) alternatively you can add me this is me by clicking on the "add as friend" button and I'll post your link on the FB group. Is that as complicated as I think I've made it??

woowa sorry to hear about your dh - hope something comes up soon for you all

deardear fingers crossed it turns up soon! dh lost his on our first wedding anniversary while we were on holiday - fortunately we found it on the bottom of the swimming pool!

24+4 (I think...)
