Aww excited for the people who have had new arrivals in their families/groups of friends, lots of lovely cuddles in the cold weather Grin

Sorry to hear people are still feeling so rubbish though Sad

Had my flu jab this morning so I don't get told off by the midwife next time I see her. Went to a Halloween party last night as some of you may have seen from Facebook, off to a leaving party tonight for my friend moving to Australia, have gave myself tomorrow off to laze on the sofa all day.

Happy birthday for the sons/daughters of you lovely ladies, noticed there's a couple this week.

Sorry I've tried to talk to everyone but not been too personal, on my phone.

littlemonkeybix · 29/10/2011 20:09

Sorry - on phone so personals are lacking!!

I got "the fear" big time!! I was having a lovely squeeze of wee Jacob... And it hit home that I'll gonna have one VERY soon!

The fear was present on POAS day, and sporadically throughout... But today, wowzer, that was full on!!

I know DP will be fine as he's TONS of experience, but me... NIL!! Shock

I may be using mumsnet A LOT once pip is out!!

ZhenXiang · 30/10/2011 09:44

Hello everyone :)

Devon congrats on becoming an aunty!

hermione I used to get those pains during my period and did during last pregnancy with DD. Someone said to me that it was to do with everything being more relaxed (muscles/ligaments) due to hormones on period/when pregnant and also the extra weight carried during pregnancy. This puts more pressure put on sciatic nerve causing pains. Stretching upwards best to relieve/prevent I found.

little enjoy your cuddles, they are lovely. When my great-niece was born she was only 4lbs in August I got to hold her, she was so tiny I was worried about holding her!

You will be fine, I had held and looked after older babies, but had no newborn experience when I had DD. It just happens, you will change so many nappies after a few days you will be a pro, just remember to laugh at yourself when you get it back to front in the middle of the night when you are so tired you can barely see.

Your child has two parents so let DP show you, I didn't know how to bath my newborn DD, but DH who already had children and lots of experience showed me how to do it safely. Don't feel embarrassed to ask for help/advice from DP, your parents, his parents and anyone else you feel comfortable talking to that is how they all learnt.

I am 23 weeks now and much bigger than with my first who was 8lb so looks like DD2 will be a whopper! Getting lots of ligament and groin pain.

We just moved into new flat last Monday only to find council (landlord) had failed to install gas meter so no gas supply. On Friday the energy company were meant to come and fit one so we could have heating and hot water. The engineer turned up with an electric meter and the company can not fit gas meter now for over a week Angry. Currently using electric cooker as only source of heating and boiling water in kettle/pans for baths.

Sugarkane · 30/10/2011 10:24

WOW just caught up, took me forever lots of talking going on.

Thank you everyone for my congratulations.Mummymccar she really did make it look easy, thankfully both mum and puppies are doing great, although she is still lying on them and they aren't strong enough to move out of the way yet so we are staying up in shifts and I'm so bloody tired, have never been this tired with either DC but I guess its the being pregnant part that's not helping.

Babycarmen I only have 1 pair of maternity jeans a pair of fat jeans and a couple of leggings that I still fit in but I really don't want to have to send money on clothes that I will grow out of so soon quick so I'm just going to stick it out as long as I can. I'm like Woowa nice clothes just don't fit in with 2 kids plus I was 4 stone heavier with DC's so my old maternity clothes don't fit anymore anyway.

Sugar just have a day in bed next week, I remember counting down the days left at work with DD it made getting up in the morning easier.

Very jealous of all the newborn cuddles lots of you are getting on here, although maybe I need to remember its those that got me in this position in the first place. Wink

BAbycarmen, Mellie, Wicket and M1nn1e I hope your starting to feel better now.

Mummymccar That sounds very painful hope your on the mend and resting.

Littlemonkey No outside kicks for me yet (too much padding) but I just love the look on DP face the first time he feels it.

innocent that's a great price for NCT how did you get the reduced price did you have to email with income details etc or is there proper channels to go through? Think I will give them a call or something. Anyone recommend NCT for subsequent pregnancies or is it really only beneficial for firsts?

Hermoine Never had them in my bum but have felt them in my gina/cervix before best just to mention it to your MW next time but no doubt they will just tell you its stretching (they blame everything on stretching). Oh and don't worry we wont tell on you posting about another thread. Wink

Queenfee Well done on the sorting I really need to get mine down from the loft but its such a long task I just cant bite the bullet, guess it will be ok till after Christmas. Hmm

No Halloween plans here for us, think we are having a quiet night for a change. DP and DC did their pumpkin yesterday but I cant see it lasting till tomorrow as they keep playing with it.

Littlemonkey I promise its true what they say it all just clicks into place and you forget what life before kids was like.

Sorry its sooooooooo long but its been a while since I caught up.

Sugarkane · 30/10/2011 10:26

Oh Zhen keep calling them everyday if you pester them enough they may give in and come quicker.

Sorry if I've missed anyone

23 + 1

BillComptonstrousers · 30/10/2011 11:19

Good morning all!

Had a lovely night last with the parents last night, I just bought Jamie's 30 minute meals and did one of the recipes and oh my god it was so lovely! It took me 37 mins though to do both courses though! My dad sat at the breakfast bar watching and timing me, while he was watching the actual programme online, so kept shouting things like 'have you put the mustard in yet' 'he's getting ahead of you' Grin

Nothing much else going on, off to the metro this afternoon, and must try to find some pumpkins for the kids.

Hubby is off to London for the rest of the week, and kids are back at school, lovely!

I found some lovely clothes in Red Herring in Debenhams last week so I might buy a couple of bits today

Hope you all have a lovely sunday x

melliebobs · 30/10/2011 11:34

hermoine that thread is hilarious. I just don't get it, it makes no sense, but i'm in stitches!!!!

babycarmen having no kids my halloween plans are none existent. Going out for a meal tommorow night with mum, sister and DH to avoid trick or treaters ( i know, bah humbug) But today DH best friend is bringing her little boy (he's 2 n a half) trick or treating to our house! So got to go sweetie shopping yesterday! So he better be dressed up and have a trick ready just in case!

bill i haven't got the book but watched the 30 minute meals series and i've done a couple of the recipes. The frangipans are amazing, quick and really don't last long when DH is around! And i've also done the pregnant pasta ragu thing. Loooooverly

Jealous of all of those that have lil babas to have a cuddle with. No babies due in my family/circle of friends and my youngest niece who lives down south is 13 month now and i don't think i'll get chance to see her till christmas! Ah well, i'll make do with the dog, he's a big softie. In fact his cuddled up next to me now with his head on the laptop keyboard!

Had a good day yesterday. Bit the bullet and bought some maternity clothes. My day to day jeans still fit but are getting a bit uncomfortable. We went to Mamas and Papas cos they had a 30% of sale and Hipp baby club sent me a £10 voucher for there so got some jeans and a top for £40 instead of £73! Bargain! Me and DH haven't laughed so much in our lives though. Picked up jeans according to pre pregnancy size and put them on and they fell down! They were bloomin HUGE!!!!!!!!! Same with the top! Then there was the dilemma of do i want over or under the bump jeans. DH didn't have a clue, went for over the bump ones in the end. But OMG how big do they think i'm going to get?! That is ALOT of extra elastic! For a laugh i pulled it all the way up, well lets just say if it's a cold day i have the perfect boob warmer! So ah well, they are a bit big for now but so much better than my other ones!

QueenFee · 30/10/2011 13:17

Mellie, by the end of my pregnancies only one outfit fits. Bumps do get huge! Google triplet pregnancy pics and you feel better though ;)

Sugar, i was made to do the sorting because the bags waiting to be sorted were is the boys room and they kept emptying then so it was a case sort and put away or drown in baby clothes (think 2 years clothes in bags for 2 children) I have only kept 2 yrs so after that its back to primani :)

babycarmen · 30/10/2011 14:05

Ahh im giving myself a 20 minute sit down break. Ive got so much to do today, So far i have changed beds, gutted DDs room ready for all her new crap toys tomorrow (that took hours!), hoovered upstairs, put washing on, done dishes (NEED to nag DP for a new dishwasher - ours broke 2 weeks ago!), dusted, now ive got to go dust and hoover downstairs, hang washing up, clean the bathrooms, and ironing. Gahhhh. So much for a peaceful Sunday! Oh and thats not counting blowing up a million balloons ready for the morning. Sigh....

25+6 ... 2 SLEEPS TIL WE FIND OUT THE SEX EEK! Grin

Xavielli · 30/10/2011 15:13

Babycarmen, go steady! Sounds like my day on Friday which, followed by ds2 birthday party and A Halloween party yesterday has left me feeling like absolute crap! Got a stinking cold and feel like the bottom could drop out of my pelvis at any second. That said we did all have a completely fantastic day and I wouldn't have changed it for the world.

25+4 and completely pooped!

phlossie · 30/10/2011 17:57

Hello everyone. Just back from a fab weekend in Brighton. I LOVE Brighton. We went to check out an amazing wedding venue, which is just perfect for my DB and SIL-to-be called Bignor Park. And they have a very cute new kitten, which attacked my DH in the middle of the night Grin Grin.

I actually saw baby move for the first time - I was wearing a black dress with birds on, and one of the birds moved up and down! My mum saw it too.

Hermione - I get those shooting pains in my bum on the first day of every period. When I was pregnant with DS, I actually had them while the m/w was taking my blood pressure, and she got all excited thinking I was in labour. I was too [hblush] to say it was actually poo pains! It could be hormonal, though part of me has wondered if it might be piles.

Glad everyone's ok. Congratulations on the new neice, Devon. I'm having to make do with kittens at the moment. But my sister's getting married in July 2012 and brother in June 2013 and both sister and SIL-to-be are very broody.

We bought the baby a soft toy panda today (no useful stuff!). In other news I'm going to have to buy some Tena lady! The stress incontinence is a nightmare [hblush]. The other day in the dentist waiting room, my DD lay on my lap and said "I can smell your front bottom!" very loudly. [hblush] [hblush]

Kayano · 30/10/2011 18:46

Phlossie my BIL kitten just pounced on bump! It was sitting on my knee, baby kicked and cat noticed...

It was very cute lol. Luckily I was wearing a couple of layers

InnocentRedhead · 30/10/2011 19:15

Good evening, another quick update. I promise I will be on tomorrow, got a lot of catching up to do!

Sugar, just give them a call and see what they say, they do discount to household income below 26k. I just told her we were on around 18k and she just did the recalculation on my booking. Didn't get asked for proof which I thought was strange but hey ho :)

It's my BIRTHDAY tomorrow! Argh!!!! Hitting the big 2-0 !!! Not too happy about leaving my teens, but that day gotta come I suppose!

I will be on tomorrow - on my birthday, i don't have much else to do lol!

24weeks ish

Crazybit · 30/10/2011 20:20

Oooh I'm so rubbish, just wanted to let people know that I have added those that have given links on FB. Not sure how to do my link on here but I'm sure people can work out who is part of the Due Feb, maybe we should have a private group on there so we can familiarise ourselves with who is who in relation to MN!

QueenFee · 30/10/2011 20:34

Phlossie you had me pmsl maybe I need the tena lady too!

Had a very special moment ds1 (5) felt the baby kick for real for the 1st time. He was totally made up bless him x

Having loads of bh but all totally painless thankfully!

QueenFee · 30/10/2011 21:31

Is anyone else still insatiably hungry? I can't stop eating!

PamBeesly · 30/10/2011 22:37

QueenFee I have an insaitable appetite, I'm always eating something ... its like a hunger I've never felt before, like a desperate need, and not for junk food either but chicken salad sandwiches, cheese, fruit, real food.

Innocent not long now til you are 20!

Babycarmen how exciting about the 4D scan

Thanks to everyone who added/accepted me on facebook

After my fall the other night I'm still a bit bruised and sore but the little baby is moving around guddo so I'm relaxed about him. The hospital were so lovely and caring and brought me into the delivery suite to check me over... its not so scary, well it wasn't two days ago, when I'm screaming and in labour it won't seem so nice Grin I found it awfully strange the way they had pictures of Jesus and Mary on the wall though

woowa · 30/10/2011 23:10

Hi

Manic few days, DH has another job interview tomorrow, so more manic times. Glad everyone more-or-less ok.

I've been sorting baby stuff like a crazy women this weekend & my lil boy now has almost 40 pairs of baby shoes! Blush
Got my changing bag & some other bits like a lovely snowsuit for squiglett & my mum is buying my pram tuesday. I think she will make me leave it at her house but also know it will annoy her there. Where do you all have yours? I'm sure I kept my ds one in my own flat & with dd I lived at my mums so it was definitely there, I keep getting told off by friends for buying new when I have so much I saved from before but squiglett should get some new bits right?
Love to you all but I guess I should try to sleep as half term is over & it will be time to get up for school soon enough Sad very sad as I will miss my dc Sad
Oh yeah charleneread on Facebook if anyone wants to add me Grin

hermionejgroooaaanger · 31/10/2011 08:02

Happy birthday innocent! Grin

And Squigletts is your profile pic two girls looking behind themselves towards the camera? (didn't explain that very well but hope YKWIM!)

Have been at MILs this weekend. She's v excited and bought us a bag of little toys, a baby book and a pack of books which was really kind of her. Feel a bit cough-y still though - both she and DH smoke (as did I before ttc) and although normally I wouldn't mind, the smell really makes me feel sick now. They smoke in her kitchen - DH did go outside a couple of times but still I could kind of smell the lingering smoky smell :( Have been on at DH to give up with all the usual arguments (Bert has no choice...you smell...I've given up...yada yada) but don't want to nag him because he'll just dig his heels in. And currently he's saying he's very stressed at work and so can't do it (TBH he is stressed at work and I know how hard it is to give up when you're stressed). This is starting to sound like an AIBU and I'm far too chicken to post there - but I really don't think I am (if nothing else for the "Bert has no choice" reason). I'm not having a go at others who smoke and don't want to start an anti-smoking rampage because I'm firmly in the "do what you like so long as it's not hurting anyone (and it's legal!! Wink)" camp. So it's more of a vent/rant, really.

Thanks for the comments on the TMI shooting-pains-up-my-btm question - I really hope it's not piles! Think it feels too high up for that though.

Pam and QueenFee I'm endlessly hungry too and can't stop eating. Starting to worry that the weight isn't going to come off again afterwards! Oh well. I'm not that worried that I'm stopping eating!! Grin

Right. Must get ready for work. Can't justify another day off - especially since I posted on FB earlier this morning saying to another pregnant friend that I'd ring in for her if she'd ring in for me. Looks a bit suspicious really, doesn't it?! Oh damn - it's gone 8am. Stop yapping, hermione, and get a wriggle on!!

hermionejgroooaaanger · 31/10/2011 08:07

Oh and woowa good luck to DH for his job interview...and babyc not long till your scan - v excited for you! Hope DD enjoys her b'day!

Squigletts i've just done a search on FB and there is a list of quite a few Charlene Reads...I'm here if you want to add me so i don't end up adding randoms Blush

24+3 as well :D

phlossie · 31/10/2011 09:53

Because of all my tmi posts, I was going to stay anonymous on here... but I'm too nosy and I don't like being left out so here I am!

Happy birthday Innocent. Twenty, eh! When I turned thirty, everyone said thirty was the new twenty, so does that make twenty the new ten?! I loved my twenties, but like my thirties better, so it's not all down hill. And you get a big one (where you can get bit jolly too) next year. Have a lovely day.

Good luck to your DH woowa - I hope this one works out for you.

Hermione - I became so anti-smoking when pregnant with ds. My MIL smokes, and I couldn't stand the thought of the smoke on my baby (babies smell sooooo good). It wasn't about wanting her to stop because I think it's wrong - each to their own and all that - I just didn't want to have to smell it/inhale it. I actually cried and said to DH that she couldn't look after the baby as long as she smoked. (turned out I needn't have worried: she never wanted to look after the baby and she had a vicious dog and when the dog died she moved to Spain!) And I'm a non-smoker. I've heard it's worse for ex-smokers. Here's some fuel for your argument - smoke outside campaign. I think it's a really good compromise to stop smoking. And don't post on AIBU - they're mental! YANBU, btw!

25+1

Squiglettsmummy2bx · 31/10/2011 10:23

Just waiting to have my eyebrows done, my profile pic is my scan picture Smile

Kayano · 31/10/2011 17:28

I'm in the maternity assessment unit right now for my damn leg/ groin Sad

Can't update properly but innocent hope you had a nice birthday x

Feel free to fb add me. Www.facebook.com/vhorn

melliebobs · 31/10/2011 17:50

Hi everyone. Hope we've all had a good Monday! Hope everything is ok with your leg kayano

I've decided that lil Pip is 'fattist'. Was doing a gym induction today and a rather large man was running on the treadmill I was stood next to. Him pounding on there made the floor shake so pip could obviously feel the vibrations. It did not like! 10 min kicking fit!!! Lol

Right. I'm off for an Italian to avoid the trick or treaters. I feel like garbage and really can't be bothered. But mother is paying and that don't happen often!!!
