Had no idea what to call it, sorry. Just googled third trimester and that was the recommendation...

aethelfleda · 09/09/2011 23:45

Bobbins, did that work? The link looks too long...

HoneyLovesCake · 09/09/2011 23:57

It does work aethhelfleda but do you mind if I convert it for you? That's a very impressive trapped ever after cake it looks positively gravity defying! I've not seen the show but I'm sure it'll be a hit at the party!

aethelfleda · 10/09/2011 00:50

Thanks honey! i'm going to have to overcome my tech-phobia and work out how to do that link thing properly :)

DarciesmumandBump2 · 10/09/2011 08:13

Morning all.

Aethel my DD only watches Disney Cinemagic or Nick Jr. She feels Cheshire is to young for her now!

Woken up with a foot that still hurts and feel all fuzzy which means I've caught DP's rotten cold :(
DD is being good tho, she's watching a DVD in her room and playing nicely whilst I watch rugby from my bed Grin

jomouse · 10/09/2011 09:23

Hello all. Blimey, this thread moves fast.
Can't remember who was speaking about an intense stitch like pain. I got myself into a bit of a fluster yesterday as I was having them and they bloody hurt and minimouse was not showing strong movements. Phoned up and was advised to go in to check it out. 5 hours later after foetal monitoring, internal exams and all that jazz I was set free. It's just round ligament or muscle stretch they think...what a palaver. Have been told to take it easy now. Thing is, they could see from the monitor read out that I am having fairly strong Braxtons yet I can't feel them. Bizarro.
This weekend was just supposed to be for me and DH to chill but his poor Nan has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's so we are going to see what we can do to help. It's all go here.
Still have bought nothing to prepare for new house or baby. Think I might need to start getting organised. All the talk of prem labour yesterday FREAKED me out....
Hope all you lovelies are doing well x

sevensevenseven · 10/09/2011 09:42

jomouse so sorry to hear about your nan, yesterday must have been scary but glad your little one is ok.

aethelfleda that's an impressive cake!

likeacandle I bought this ball from eBay and it arrived in 2 days.

DarciesmumandBump2 · 10/09/2011 10:21

Jomouse sorry to hear about your nan. good you & little mouse is ok.
I had that intense stitch like pain. I walked around abit and drank a couple of pints of ice cold water and that seemed to help.

sat watching the rugby in peace :)

figgygal · 10/09/2011 10:50

I bought a fisher price travel swing off eBay yesterday on pick up only but was in a village 5 minutes out of my way on way home from work so thought that'd be easy to pick up after work one day next week the woman was so lovely she's dropped it off at my house this morning and given me her matching vibrating chair for gratis. I gave her an extra fiver for it as was all I had on me but how nice is that!!!

OiMissus · 10/09/2011 11:24

Great cake aethel, I'm impressed!
Glad all is well jomouse
and glad you're enjoying the burly men in peace darcies!
...and now I've forgotten what I was going to write! Oh well. Have a great weekend everyone! X

Xiaoxiong · 10/09/2011 11:32

I've had more of those stabby stitch like pains so have "cured" them by lying on the sofa ogling attractive rugby players on ITV. Distracting me from planning dinner though so I have posted on the MN food and recipe boards with my meal planning dilemmas if anyone's feeling foodie and creative this morning.

Don't understand the cake but it certainly is impressive aethelfleda!

figgy what a nice woman Smile

OiMissus · 10/09/2011 11:33

Oh yes, now I remember- and I didn't mean this as a joke, but tis rather funny - I was going to write about alzheimers. :)
My granddad was fit and well at 91, but within the space of about a month, just really lost it. He doesn't know if it's night or day. But he's coping ok. He is visited at morning, noon and dinnertime by family, bringing food (or meals on wheels at lunch during the week). I ring him at 9:30pm every night to tell him to draw his curtains, turn fire off and go to bed. He keeps a clock with him at all times, and he has a pad and we write a new page every day with the day and date and all the things that will happen at what times. He can follow that.
it's a shame. Sad We're waiting for a place in a sheltered housing place with extra care. But our timetables will continue. It's cruel (to him). He'd rather be dead. He's with it enough to know he's confused.

Xiaoxiong · 10/09/2011 11:38

Oi that's such a shame. DH's nana is the same but she finds it amusing that she forgets things (and often plays it up by pretending she has forgotten things that she doesn't want to do), so it's easier for everyone else to deal with because she isn't distressed and seems to be having fun with it, as far as she can.

Xiaoxiong · 10/09/2011 11:40

Pressed send too soon, meant to add that I really hope the sheltered housing comes up soon for him - sounds like you are all helping him to live with the dignity he deserves.

mopsytop · 10/09/2011 11:54

I just cleaned the bathroom - bending down to clean floor is hard work! Don't think will be able to do that bit much longer. Sat morning chores. Fun fun fun.

Sorry to hear about your nan Jomouse :(
What a nice woman, figgy!
I'd like a bouncy chair at some stage, must look on gumtree etc. when I can be arsed!

mopsytop · 10/09/2011 11:59

p.s. my birth ball arrived but the postman came really early (about 4 hours earlier than normal) and knocked and by the time had got downstairs was gone and left the pick it up on Monday note. GRRRRRR. It is annoying enough that they normally come at lunchtime but then to come at 8am on a Saturday and not give you time to answer the door is a bit much. Was really wanting it this weekend as sofa is getting uncomfortable :(

msbuggywinkle · 10/09/2011 12:33

Just been out buying crafty supplies for the DDs, who are now happily ensconced with colouring books and sweets. Planning on spending the day knitting and watching films, I'm tired.

DP is really grumpy today, so we're ignoring him until he decides to join the rest of the world.

DarciesmumandBump2 · 10/09/2011 13:08

well I've watching a shocking game of rugby by England, now watching F1 qualifying and will be watching Gnomeo & Juliet whilst snuggled up with DD Grin

Mopsy shame about your postie.

Awomancalledhorse · 10/09/2011 13:15

Darciesmum, thank god the rugby has been on! I don't mind being awake when there is something to watch at 6am!

Jomouse, sorry to hear about your Nan.

HoneyLovesCake · 10/09/2011 13:18

2 of my kittens left about an hour ago; I was not at all prepared for how upset I'd get. :( I've become stupidly quite attached to 2 of the 4 kittens & they took one of them. It all happened very quickly as the lady had driven down from Plymouth & obviously wanted to get back on the road; I burst into tears a minute after they'd left & it took me a good half hour to calm down Blush I've got 2 more left to go & I really don't know how I'll manage letting go of the little boy. I've booked mum in to be spayed already; there is no way I could go through that again; I don't know how breeders do it. It doesn't help being hormonal too!!!

sevensevenseven · 10/09/2011 13:47

honey it's perfectly normal to get attached to them, although being pregnant probably doesn't help.

mopsy I love when you get too pregnant for certain jobs, I'm not going to be able to reach over the hutch to clean out the guinea pigs much longer. DH even cleaned the oven last week as he wouldn't let me breathe the fumes from the oven cleaner :o

I'm planning on parenting from the sofa this afternoon, I'm feeling a bit breathless and dizzy today.

DarciesmumandBump2 · 10/09/2011 14:17

AWCH I love all sport, so I love waking upto any sport :)

Honey hugs, your bound to get attached to them.

Mopsy DP already emptys all the bins, cleans the hamster, and cleaned the oven :)

aethelfleda · 10/09/2011 15:32

Aw, honey, hope you feel a bit better soon. I'm sure kitten will be v happy in his new home ((hug))

mopsy, I've got hubby on bin duty too!

A quiet afternoon ahead, party went well, kids liked the games and the cake didn't fall over! So we're now sitting watching one of the tamer Dr Who episodes (DD1 won't let us watch the scary ones! I keep trying to show her "Blink" and she's not having any of it!) with a drink and leftover party food to nibble on :)

aethelfleda · 10/09/2011 15:37

And sorry to hear about your nan too jomouse, none of my grandparents were about long enough to get dementia but I've known people with it and it's very variable how quickly it affexts people. I hope she can stay where she wants to be for as long as possible.

itsybitsy08 · 10/09/2011 16:39

thanks for the seat belt info! I thought it was odd just to say dont wear one - i dont think i would be able to drive without one on anyway - it just would not feel right!
have done a bit research and found a saftey type thing that holds the belt on your lap and across your chest - may help me feel better!
being my second pregnancy im quite chilled about everything else, and this is my only 'first' experience type paranoia this time around :)

dd starts nursery school next week, my baby all grown up. we have been shopping for last minute school things today and purchased the essential school shoes with flashing lights she has being dying to get! DP was at work and we treated ourselves to lunch in a nice resturant (ssshhhh!) - was lovely mammy and daughter day (sadly one of our last for some time with the impending arrival of 'baby brovver')

hope you are all having a nice weekend :)

sevensevenseven · 10/09/2011 17:22

Alzheimers and dementia are such cruel conditions. My nan had dementia which developed very quickly, towards the end she couldn't talk and didn't even recognise any of us. She only met DS once, it was pretty heartbreaking tbh, as soon as she saw him she had a huge grin on her face like she understood everything clearly, five seconds later she was back to being blank and completely out of it. Sadly she died a month later :(

msbuggy how is your grandad doing?

aethelfleda glad the party was a success. You can't show her that episode of dr who, it's terrifying! I know that kids being scared of dr who is part of our culture but I still can't believe it's allowed to be shown before the watershed.
