Had no idea what to call it, sorry. Just googled third trimester and that was the recommendation...

Evening Ladies.

With regard to seat belts, I always wear one as protects me & the baby and DP wouldn't take me anywhere in the car without being belted up!

Tyelperion DD lived in sleep suits/babygros for first 6-8weeks. What bizarre have you brought?

Well not only have I got swollen feet & ankles I've pulled all the ligaments in my right foot - it bloody kills to walk on it :(

plupervert · 09/09/2011 18:45

Darcies, put that foot up right now - don't walk on it!

DarciesmumandBump2 · 09/09/2011 18:54

Plu I will do when DD goes to bed. DP has buggered off up the pub o can't right now.

mopsytop · 09/09/2011 19:08

in on my own tonight so I am going to have a nice lazy evening with pizza, one (naughty!) glass of wine and a dvd. I am feeling in the mood for an 80s brat pack movie methinks. Yay! What are you lot up to?

BeeMyBaby · 09/09/2011 19:26

Tyelperion mine is meant to be just for clothes as well, it just happens to give me the tiny bit of extra support I need to not wince in pain every time I stand up, I have however seen proper support bump bands on boots here

DD is in bed, me too now - so I have my foot elevated.

figgygal · 09/09/2011 19:51

Just finished a lazy tea of cheesy scrambled eggs toast and beans got to take DH to pub at half 8 then will be watching my crap tv from last few days x factor torchwood celebrity juice etc

I joined the nct couple of weeks ago reading through my newsletter that came in today wondering if I'll actually see any benefit of being a member though anyone else joined/joining?

OiMissus · 09/09/2011 20:13

I'm lying on the rug, in front of the fire, having just consumed a durty macdonalds. So wrong, I know, but I'm absolutely wiped out by Friday evening. Got docs and mw appt on Monday, am going to ask about pelvic girdle pain help. I can't get up without groaning, that ain't sexy, and neither is the limp! Hope you all enjoy your trashy tv and easy-meals!
I wish I could join you in having a glass of wine, but it gives me headache these days!!! Sad
Fingers crossed for the euromillions later! X

sevensevenseven · 09/09/2011 20:30

DH is at work, DS in bed, I'm watching the gadget show then QI and trying to find the motivation to do some knitting. I don't think I could trust myself to just have one glass of wine, I think it would just make me want more so I'm best avoiding it completely. I've been occasionally having the odd half a weak shandy when DH has lager in the fridge though.

darcies how on earth have you pulled the ligaments in your foot? You have my sympathy, I tore a ligament in my shoulder in February and it was agony for weeks, in fact it's still not right now. :(

mopsytop · 09/09/2011 20:36

Don't want more than one, if that. It's just a nice little indulgence! I just had a Dr. Oetker pizza Oi - I am sure that's as wrong as a McDonald's! Yum yum!

aethelfleda · 09/09/2011 20:59

We had gyoza (japanese dumplings) with oven baked potato croquettes. (so basically freezer food).

Now gotta ice a cake in the shape of a Mad Gothic Tower for tomorrow's party for DD1.... Trip to the art shop paid out well, hope the kiddies like it!

LittleMissFlustered · 09/09/2011 21:14

Enjoy Mad Gothic Tower (tm) icingGrin

I got cramp today,w hich has left my left leg all tense. I know that as soon as I relax in bed tonight it is going to kick off and make my life hell for an hour.

I bought yarn this week, and have been making a couple of blankets. I don' like the insipid colours you're supposed to put up with when you're not sure what you're buying for, so I have got some of this which is making up very nicely. I have enough to make a blanket each for pram, car seat and cot. It's keeping me occupied on a night when I am supposed to be relaxing.

I hope everybod has a good weekend, and that those of you planing to win the lottery have fun with the spendsWink

LittleMissFlustered · 09/09/2011 21:15

Oh, forgot, dinner this evening was a rather dull tuna sandwich, but it filled a hole. Appetite is non-existant and eating is a bit of a chore these days.

mopsytop · 09/09/2011 21:18

LittleMiss you prob already do this but the second I feel a cramp starting I flex my foot up towards my shin really hard and it stops it. Like I am trying to point my toe towards my head but with my leg straight if that makes sense. You prob already do that but just in case!

LittleMissFlustered · 09/09/2011 21:25

I stand up and lean forward, same effect but with more effort behind itWink I'm prone to random acts of cramp though. I have managed to cramop muscles I had no idea existed before. Stupid body!

mopsytop · 09/09/2011 21:30

Ah ok, but if you are in bed lying down the cramp would already have kicked in by the time you could stand up, no? I mean if I don't flex foot immediately the cramp doesn't stop. Or takes longer. But maybe you don't get it in bed. I only get it in my right calf, thank goodness. Sounds terrible to get it elsewhere :(

sevensevenseven · 09/09/2011 21:46

LMF try standing about a metre away from a wall with your hands placed on it, then lean forward until you can feel the stretch in your calf muscles. Doing it 3 times a day is meant to stop you getting cramps but I find doing it once just before bed is usually enough to stop me getting cramp in the night (when I remember!)

sevensevenseven · 09/09/2011 21:48

Sorry stupid moment, that obviously only works with calf cramps. I agree that anywhere else must be awful!

LikeACandleButNotQuite · 09/09/2011 22:09

Checking in, though am a very rare poster.

Glad to hear everyone is getting along well, aches and pains aside (how embarassing is it when you have to huff and puff your way around work....the shame at the noises im making)

Question: if I buy a birthing ball / exercise ball, do they come infllated or with a pump, or do I need to purchase a pump? Have two cats, so am looking forward to their interaction with it Smile

Anyone suffering from hairy bellied-ness? Mines starting to look like a fuzzy peach, but am brunette, so looks quite hilarious.

Started a bit of a countdown of shifts for work, 55 to go, Grin, am very much looking forward to being off at Christmas (work in Hotel so its never guaranteed), even if I may be pushing that day (due 16th so could be late).

DH put in his Paternity Leave request today, he's luckily able to add it onto his (enforced) Christmas Leave, so will end up with a month off, which has worked out fantastic. It's our first, and he's rather nervous, bless, so been swotting up with a baby book on the Metro too and from work and beginning to gain confidence. Does your midwife inform you of Antenatal classes (not NCT) or is there somwhere online I could look to find ou when they are?

LikeACandleButNotQuite · 09/09/2011 22:09

Gaaah, rare, but very rambly poster I am, sorry Blush

DarciesmumandBump2 · 09/09/2011 22:31

Seven haven't a clue how I done it, but it hurts :(

Don't envy you LMF with cramp.

figgygal · 09/09/2011 22:39

I had cramp in my left wrist to thumb earlier the whole thing went into spasm which Is lovely since it already hurt Like hell.

Just watched last weeks x factor bit worried I spotted a Gary Barlow bald spot. On to last nights celebrity juice now..... god makes me laugh it's so childish

LittleMissFlustered · 09/09/2011 22:47

Candle You can ask your midwife to put yor name down for NHS classes if there are any in your area, then they write to you :) The ball comes with a pump usually, and your cats will either mistrust the ball, or be determined to conquer it, I have a ratio of 2:1 on that scoreWink

Cramps! I wasn't in bed. I was sat on a squishy sofa in a coffee shop having a sneaky toasted sandwich and a latte. I managed to handle it with a little more dignity than Rafael Nadal handled his earlier in the week though, so it's not all badWink I have cramped hands, legs, abdominal muscles and the tiny muscles on the top of the foot before today. It's usually quite a relief when it's 'just' a leg one, as they are quite easily dealt with, the foot one was a sod ad nothing worked!

LikeACandleButNotQuite · 09/09/2011 22:49

Ahh, great, thanks LMF

aethelfleda · 09/09/2011 23:43

Victory! This will only make sense to those mums who have LOs who watch CBBC- the rest of you can google "trapped: ever after" if you can be bothered. I'm rather pleased with it actually...
