Had no idea what to call it, sorry. Just googled third trimester and that was the recommendation...

LittleMissFlustered · 26/09/2011 17:05

aethel If you call a child Alfie, I will be forced to call him Stormageddon from her on out...

BlueCrane · 26/09/2011 17:07

Just wanted to say a little hello to all the December bus crew glad to see all is going well and bumps behaving themselves, for the most part! I am now on the May 2012 bus Grin after falling off the December bus after my 12w scan but just wanted to wish you all the best for the third trimester and your lovely Christmas bundles!! Everything feels much more positive in BlueCrane-land this time around so hoping all will be well when I get to scan time Smile

sevensevenseven · 26/09/2011 17:41

Hi bluecrane, glad to see you're back on another bus, I hope it all goes ok for you this time.

I can't believe we're really that far along that there's a May 2012 bus!

I'm glad I'm not the only one having hippy-ish tendencies. Re names I could easily go wild, I love Luna and Arianna, DH is having none of it, in terms of 'normal' names I'm still stuck between Ava and Eva.

I think it's nice when a young child has a short versionof a grown up name. Montgomery is very sophisticated for a man and Monty is lovely for a little boy, you'd have to go for the long version on the birth certificate though. I really dislike shortened versions on the birth certificate. Call me old-fashioned but I'm still horrified that Charlie and Frankie are on the list of top 100 girls names, fair enough as a nickname but will Charlie appreciate it in 30 years when she always has to correct people that she's female?

Xiaoxiong · 26/09/2011 17:49

OMG CONGRATS BlueCrane!!!! What wonderful news!! Hope everything is going well for you and best wishes for May 2012!

msbuggywinkle · 26/09/2011 18:43

Bluecrane huge congratulations, so pleased for you!

On the naming tendencies, my three girls have names that a friend described as 'Jane Austen heroine names' they are Helena, Felicity and Miranda (Miranda is my december baby to be!).

However, my hippy self seems to come out if I think of boys names...Miranda would have been Sorrel.

aethelfleda · 26/09/2011 18:53

bluecrane, that's fantastic! Thank you for coming back to tell us :)

seven, I totally get the not liking shortened versions on a certificate. If you want a girl called Millie then name her Millicent and call her Millie- she'll thank you when she has a choice later. Likewise Charlie, Alfie, Josie, Timmy, etc etc.

LMF, I'm a long time Dr Who fan- many names are theoretically possible (Patrick, Peter, Sylvester, or alternately Rory, Jamie, Ancelynn.... I do, however draw the line at Alistair-Gordon-Lethbridge-Stewart....)

OiMissus · 26/09/2011 18:57

I quite like Valentine, but DH says no. And I suppose it might stand out A bit ooop north. Wink
I've been for my breast lump scannery this afternoon. We had to wait around for around 2.5hrs to find out tis just glandular contours. Nothing at all to worry about, no action to be taken. Smile
Congrats bluecrane on being back on the bus. Hope all goes well for you.

plupervert · 26/09/2011 19:22

Welcome back to the buses, BlueCrane! It's very thoughtful of you to let us know. I was just recently thinking back to those days of people dropping off the "bus", how sad it was to have that news keep coming from different people.

OiMissus · 26/09/2011 20:02

My navel is really itchy. Feels like it will burst. It's still a deep "inny". But so uncomfortable!
Anyone else experiencing anything similar? Sad

LittleMissFlustered · 26/09/2011 20:06

Hope your seat on the May bus is a comfy one bluecrane :)

aethel When I was pregnant with my first, my partner at the time tried to convince me that William Patrick Jon Tom Peter Colin Sylvester Paul was a perfectly acceptable name. I told him where to goGrin

As for names I do like, I like traditional, or the mythological. My daughter is a goddess and my son is a kingWink

sevensevenseven · 26/09/2011 21:38

oimissus congratulations on the normal breast scan, what a relief.

I feel enormous and really uncomfortable tonight, and realised earlier I was waddling Blush

Awomancalledhorse · 27/09/2011 00:26

Congrats BlueCrane! Thanks for letting us all know & best wishes for May!!

Oi, glad the scan was all clear! My belly button has gone from being quite deep (fitting a peanut M&M in), to shallow (can't fit a crispy M&M). Everyone knows a chocolate test is THE most scientific test known to man!

Everyone, do you also go 'hmmmm' everytime you hear a name on tv/in a film?
DH is very, very much against my hippy/mythological/silver spoon plummy/odd middle name tendencies. I even tried out Tiberius (middle name of Capt.Kirk in Star Trek), to appeal to his geek-side, he was having none of it.

seven, I can't stand nicknames as full names either.

KateM77 · 27/09/2011 02:08

Congratulations BlueCrane that's great news!

The insomnia has well and truly kicked in here. I'm not really suffering too much otherwise so know I shouldn't complain, but am counting down the days left at work now. Only 5 weeks to go :)

Trying to put things in perspective. It's pretty awful being so tired all the time but I know it won't last forever. I had a very similar experience when expecting DD - a very easy pregnancy with just some insomnia and cankles to deal with towards the end. It was the birth that went a bit wrong, and then afterwards we had all sorts of problems with her health. I could cope perfectly well with some troubles now if it would guarantee me a more 'normal' birth experience and a healthy baby

OiMissus · 27/09/2011 07:07

I was so cranky and uncomfortable yesterday evening, that I went to bed before 9pm. I smothered myself in oil and still felt itchy. So I ended up wrapping myself and my pillows in furry throws. It's either that or I'm ordering silk sheets!! I eventually had quite a good night's sleep. :)
And kate, you are absolutely right, a few weeks of discomfort now will be worth it when we get our healthy babies. :)
Right everyone, I guess most of you have been as bad as me at doing pelvic floor exercises (ie not doing any) so let's make a concerted effort today whilst sat in front of our computers - doing budgets, accounts, designs, mn, whatever - three short sucks in, and relax!

BeeMyBaby · 27/09/2011 07:26

ugh I really hate pelvic floor exercises, I was hoping to avoid having to do them and take the lazy option of using those weight things after the birth instead. Only about 10 more weeks of trying not to wet myself to go...

msbuggywinkle · 27/09/2011 08:06

Morning!

lmf DP has started calling our new baby Stormy. We love that the Doctor speaks baby!

seven am also with you on not having nicknames on birth certificates. DD1 is always called Nell, doesn't agree that her actual name is Helena but I wanted her to have the choice.

Looking forward to seeing lots of my favourite people today, home ed group at the adventure playground! Such gorgeous sunshine, just wish I could wake up! I have good coffee though.

I can't get my head round having three children, it sounds too grown up. I'm sure I'm not responsible enough to have three of the creatures!

mopsytop · 27/09/2011 08:23

Congrats Crane, that's great news! I agree on the full/nickname thing also. One or two names we sort of like but no absolute definites. Hope we get one. Didn't realise it would be so difficult!

My headaches have started coming back. 9 days out of last 14. Not very pleased about it, but there's not much I can do except just go with it. And not stress. Easier said than done but I will try and be relaxed about it.

Also getting really itchy Oi - is irritating, isn't it?! Using Biooil but it doesn't remove all the itch.

jomouse · 27/09/2011 08:48

So pleased for bluecrane!!
I am having a naming dilemma. That awful fame hungry freak from XFactor has ruined my No1 girls name (Kitty). Now I dont know what to do...I would like to hope that she fades into obscurity and I am worrying about nothing but she may become the next Katie Weasel (sans porno gran) and I would hate for people to think I named my daughter after her. Ugghh
Boy names (Arthur Digby) are growing on me day by day, so maybe I just start hoping for boy...
Oh lor, pelvic floor exercises. Need to focus on these! Maybe I'll buy an app, that always tends to focus the mind

hawthers · 27/09/2011 08:49

oi am standing waiting for the train doing pelvic floor exercises. How many are you supposed to do each day? I'm bored already!

Having slightly skipped over the hypnobirthing stuff on here on the basis that it was a bit too hippy for me, I spoke to SIL last night who used it with her second and only took 2 paracetamol and some gas and air... Hmm must track back and find it to have a read

Mmmmcheese · 27/09/2011 09:44

hawthers I did the same thing! Ended up buying the pregnancy relaxation Cd and actually really like it. Best thing is that the woman's voice isn't annoying to listen to!

I actually wet myself a bit the other day, felt awful. I had a really full bladder and was on the way to the loo when I sneezed! Has definitely made me focus more on pelvic floors - has never happened to me before.

My back is feeling a bit better after sitting on the ball to work (I work from home) but I'm still going to see if I can get some physio when i see the MW today.

Counting down the days until mat leave now! 7.5 weeks to go!

HoneyLovesCake · 27/09/2011 09:51

Morning! :) I am in the best mood today as DP has come home early! He drove up to London on Sunday to paint the flat he owns with his best mate for new tenants & was supposed to be driving back today but decided he'd rather not spend the night in paint-smelling flat so drove over night instead & arrived sometime in the wee hours. I swear I sleep deeper when he's beside me; I was woken this morning by the tesco delivery man Blush should've been up way before he arrived but instead had to drag on random clothes & go to door with hair askew Blush Blush

bluecrane if you're still around, big congrats on your news!
oi glad to hear your lump is nothing to worry about. I think someone should mention pelvic floors every day...just to remind us all to do them; I'm pretty good usually but pregnancy has addled my brain so I forget sometimes.
seven Luna & Arianna are both on my list :o DP's not keen but he's vetoed much wilder names so they're staying on there...he needs to loosen up a bit; I would've loved to have a more unusual name!

HoneyLovesCake · 27/09/2011 10:05

AWCH I read through the credits of everything on tv now searching for names & shouting ones I like out; much to DP's chagrin...I swear he thinks I'm a complete loon :o

sevensevenseven · 27/09/2011 10:39

Good idea about mentioning pelvic floors everyday, as soon as I read about them I done some, I'm just so forgetful and have a million other things on my mind. Glad I'm not the only one to have wet myself a little Blush

Baby is making me worry again, I've felt wriggly movements this morning but no kicks yet. It's my own fault for being exhausted and falling asleep on the sofa last night just before she's normally at her most active. If I'd been awake to feel it I wouldn't be worried.

honey glad your DP is home early.

Not that I'd wish anyone had one this early but is anyone else surprised we don't have any babies on here yet? It must have been around a month ago someone (might have been oimissus?) said there were 2 babies on the November thread.

plupervert · 27/09/2011 11:45

Pelvic floor - ugh - it is a pain to remember, isn't it? But that's a great idea about the daily reminder, HoneyLovesCake! In fact, we should make it a MN public-service announcement. I'm going to go and put it in Chat right now.

I was thinking about early babies, too, sevensevenseven! One of the couples in our first antenatal group had their baby before the last "lesson", so it can happen!

jomouse, you needn't worry about Kitty! I'm sure that XFactor person won't last (not that I know a thing about xf), or at the very least not everyone will think of her. You can always start from Katharine/Katherine (to distinguish from Catherine Middleton [wink) and nick-name from there!

(msbuggywinkle, I love Helen/Helena!)

plupervert · 27/09/2011 11:48

Right, here it is.

HoneyLovesCake, I didn't name-check you as I hadn't asked, and it might have been a bit embarrassing, although I'm happy to give you public credit (and you can get the Hmm looks the thread will no doubt engender....)
