redslippers I'm so so sorry to hear your news, please take timeout to work through the physical and emotional pain if you can. Earlier this year the MC boards on here were so so good and really helped me work though it all, in fact am still on one for TTC after MC and you're v welcome as soon as you're ready. A great bunch of ladies who all unfortunately understand what you are going through and provide great support.

Catsycat · 22/09/2011 17:14

redslippers, I'm so sorry, it is such a cruel experience. It can be a very bumpy journey, very draining physically and emotionally, so do look after yourself, and give yourself time to grieve.

Like BlueCrane says, there is some really good support to be had on the mc board, if you feel you'd like to talk. I am still on a thread with people who fell off the Dec, Jan, Feb buses (people from later months are on there too), and it has just been such an invaluable support.

TooOldForThisLark · 22/09/2011 18:04

Very sorry to hear that RedSlippers I've miscarried twice too and was absolutely devastated the first time - I cried for 3 days in a row. Take care of yourself.

dreamingofanallotment · 22/09/2011 18:18

I'm so sorry to hear that redslippers, look after yourself. Best wishes.

halecromp · 22/09/2011 18:31

I am due around 5th May. We already have a dd who is 4 and had been ttc for 2 years. My cycles have been all over the place for the last year so I'd been to the fertility consultant on the Thursday who have me some tablets but said I must test first. Did the test and it was positive which was a big shock as with dd I felt pregnant but didnt at all this time - I do now though! Suffering with horrible nausea but know it will be worth it. Had an early scan last week as had no idea when I was due and am now 7+5. Wishing you all a happy and healthy pregnancy.

FloydieDoydie · 22/09/2011 18:32

So so sorry for your loss Redslippers x

halecromp · 22/09/2011 18:33

Sorry only read page one of the thread. So sorry Redslippers, my heart goes out to you xxx

MyDaydream · 22/09/2011 18:38

redslippers I'm so sorry for your loss, I can't even imagine. I hope you have a great support network there and find yourself back here later with a much happier message. X

mildertduck · 22/09/2011 19:05

I am so so sorry redslippers - thinking of you x

CODwidow · 22/09/2011 19:13

Can I join please, got my bfp about 2 weeks ago with dc5!!Blush I already have 4 ds's 9,7,5 and 3

Wrigglebum · 22/09/2011 19:26

Poor you redslippers, good luck with everything for the future.

I came on here to vent about feeling yuck but that feels a bit wrong now after the sad news Sad. Someone earlier asked about feeling different with each pregnancy, I definitely do. Last time I felt so sick and had constant saliva rising in my mouth. This time just feel mega hungover- dry mouth, headache, queasy and mega cravings for junk food. DS and I are not having the healthiest time right now- he discovered doughnuts today! still, the dietitian told me to build him up with cakes and chips so I'm just following orders! Plus he's still having mega amounts of broccoli, which now turns my stomach.

Can't believe you're expecting no 5 COD! I'm torn between having massive respect for you and thinking you're nuts Grin

Marmite123 · 22/09/2011 19:37

So sorry to hear of your loss redslippers I went through same thing in May, just awful.

In better news my local hospital (St Thomas' in London) have been fab, I just had a second early scan today 7w and saw a heartbeat. So happy cos I've been worrying and checking for bleeding constantly. They're even letting me have another scan at 9w too. Beginning to hope it really is going to be third time lucky.

HeidiHole · 22/09/2011 19:42

redslippers I don't know if you'll feel strong enough to come back but you're in my thoughts. It is everyones worst fear :( I'm sure there isn't a single one of us that doesn't hold her breath every time they go to the loo in case of blood... we ALL feel for you, and I know it's no comfort at the moment but you're not alone, you will be able to get help from the boards here if and when you want it...

CODwidow · 22/09/2011 19:43

Defo nuts!lol but this will be my last, love having them all but worried about stretching my time too much Smile

I have had terrible early pregnancies with all 4 and yet here I am feeling quite ok so really worrying this time as no symptoms apart from sore boobs, just worked out I'm 6+1 today and constantly checking for any blood loss. Doesn't get any easier

Catsycat · 22/09/2011 19:44

Yay Marmite thats lovely news. :) Great that they will be giving you the extra reassurance of a 9 week scan. I know what you mean about the worrying & checking - it feels like a long time to my 8 week scan.

Mikocat · 22/09/2011 20:19

Hello, can I join your gang please? I am due on 12th May. It's my first baby at 38. DH and I have been TTC for over a year so are thrilled. My first scan isn't until 7th November and am going MAD with nerves/anticipation/worry.

Also am a miserable old bag of gas with galloping tiredness.

skinnymuffin · 22/09/2011 20:32

Hello all :)

I have been lurking following the May 2012 posts since a bfp on Sept 2nd but haven't posted before. I've had some bleeding and wasn't sure what was happening so thought I'd hold off for a while.

Had an early scan last week which didn't show much but another one today found a tiny heartbeat (a poppy seed-sized heart apparently) so I have decided to be brave and join the club!

Still spotting, still early days, (I'm due around May 20th), but keeping my fingers crossed - this will be dc2 I hope.

x Skinny

BlueCrane · 22/09/2011 21:06

Hi skinny and welcome! Great about the poppy seed heart beat!!

I got home to a letter from the hospital - yeah!! Apparently they're going to phone me in the next week to arrange my appointment Hmm think what'll actually happen is that I get a letter telling me when my appointment is! SO glad I can get an early scan at 8 weeks....even waiting 3.5 weeks til then feels like a lifetime let alone waiting all the way to 12w again and wondering what will be there (or not there as the case was last time Sad ). But trying to stay Grin despite the tiredness, waves of nausea, wind, constipation Blush and sore boobs - but all for a fantastic cause and I'd take them anyday over what happened in May!!

Speaking of tiredness I think my duvet might be calling...

myweeangel · 22/09/2011 21:36

Sorry to hear some sad news on here. :(

Was just wondering about whether anyone feels like they are showing yet? I am only 7 weeks and 2 days, but I feel in the last few days I have exploded. There's a definite highish (below boobs) hardish lump and it doesn't go away when I breathe in!

With dd I started to be aware of showing myself at 11 weeks but was probably 18 weeks before others started to see it. I know it's earlier with dc2 but this early??? And this obvious???

Trying desperately to keep it quiet from colleagues at the minute but don't want to go down the baggy smock-top route just yet!

Help!!

Little9 · 22/09/2011 22:01

So sorry, red. My thoughts and best wishes are with you.

Hello to all the new ladies. Got my first midwife appointment through today but not til 17th Oct. I'm similar to you Mikocat - first at 37 and nervous as hell! Still only getting sore boobs so managing to avoid the sickness so far.

BatsInTheSnowglobe · 22/09/2011 22:22

Red I am so sorry to hear your news, my thoughts are with you. Like Blue I found the mc boards no end of support when I went through my mmc.

Blue good to see you on this board, congratulations! Grin

I'm trying to find a good easy to follow, interesting and useful book on pregnancy. Can anyone recommend one? Which books, if any, have people got? ty.

CODwidow · 22/09/2011 22:58

So so sorry red Sad

Catsycat · 22/09/2011 23:01

Bats, I have "Expecting" by Anna McGrail and Daphne Metland. It isn't a glossy looking book, but I've found it invaluable with both DDs. It goes through each week of pregnancy with relevant information for that week, which builds up to a very comprehensive body of information. There are sections on health issues at the end of the book, amongst other thins. The index is detailed and makes the book very easy to search. It also has 5* reviews on Amazon. :)

myweeangel I did start to show (at least DH and I could see) a lot earlier with DD2 than DD1. With DC3 (who I unfortunately lost), I was definitely starting to show by 8-9 weeks. I had to stop wearing belts and hard things round my middle at about 7 weeks as it was uncomfortable. I always wear baggy tops anyway, due to my CS pouch (nice!), so it is easy to disguise for me!

Hello to the new joiners, and congratulations.

BatsInTheSnowglobe · 22/09/2011 23:07

Thanks Cats I'll look it up. My family are quite far away so I'm hoping reading lots of useful info will help it feel less daunting! Confused

tostaky · 23/09/2011 05:39
