NBG - No pg feelings at all, I don't feel like its sunk in yet tho, only got the pos 2 days ago, so still waiting for AF to arrive (and me to be wrong) I got really sore boobs and hiccups, and a little sickness but thats about it, I keep looking at my belly and fancying that it is bigger but it's not yet.

Pucca- I bet you had fun pushing her out at 9lbs.

I'm back!

Can't be bothered doing all the cleaning, lol.

It's funny with the food thing. I'd bought some pate and normally I'm staright in to it. I love the stuff but something made me not want to open it just in case.
Dh announced yesterday that he really fancied some honey roasted cashew nuts so he sat and ate them all in front of me.

Anybody else bothered about not being able to have a drink at xmas?

Report
mumsXMASwish · 08/12/2005 10:36

I'm not drinking at xmas but I may have a small glass of wine to celebrate new year. I dont think it would harm that much. There's some countries who say that pg women should drink 1-2 units a wk so depends on which docs you listen to.

It wouldnt bother me in the slightest not to drink tho as I dont drink that often anyway. Just special occasions.

When did you find out you were pg Arabica? I presume you've already seen your midwife if your already booked in?

I'm not bothered about the drinking thing either althoughlast saturday I went to the yorkshire Mumsnet meet up and got quite drunk
I may have to have a bit of brandy butter though!

Are we all going for hospital births then?

Report
mumsXMASwish · 08/12/2005 10:57

I want a home birth but I'm guessing with the weight I'll end up (already over weight) and the fact that I'm a first-timer they wont let me so.... prob hosp birth for me

I was thinking about a home birth but dh isn't very keen on the idea.
I want him to be relaxed too because when I had dd he was an absolute star.

We've moved since I've had dd too so it will be a different hospital for me.

That will be nice to have him stay with you.

Dh was sent away in the early hours of the morning after I had dd. He said he drove home crying, lol.

mumsXMASwish · 08/12/2005 11:35

well my friends just had hers at the other hospital we could go to and her DF was sent away 1/2 hr after she'd given birth (she'd had epidural, her baby had kidney probs) and couldnt come back until 12pm the next day cos it was out of visiting hours. Then they only let him in from 12-3 and 6-8 horrible i think.

Hello again girls!!
So are you avoiding nuts? How come? I haven't read anything about that on the preg book, I have no history of allergies/neither my DH?

I'n not bothered about drinking either! I'm keeping off fizzy drinks (I don't drink much of that anyway) but I do miss my morning coffee!. I'm only having one a week for now. Oh well!

So have you all heard from the midwife yet? The nurse told me I would be seeing her each month but not sure when will be the first time!
We got our 12 week scans at the beg of the year don't we?
A friend showed me today a video of his son's 10 week scan (had it privately) and you can see th ebaby so clearly, he was moving his feet and hands, so amazing, can't wait to go and get it done!!

apparently you cant have nuts if you've got asthma, allergies or eczema. I got eczema so none for me.

I'm slightly worried now as I've had a phonecall from the docs asking if I can go in for an appointment this afternoon. I'm not meant to be back in till monday to get the results. I'm really worried what they need me for now.

I can't believe you lot are all in your twenties - you all make me feel so old! (I'm 34).

I am going for a homebirth again this time, first time was so smooth.
NewBethlehem - if my dp were to meet your man he'd have him converted, he is almost evangelical about homebirths, I have to ask him to knock it on the head sometimes. You have plenty of time to talk him round if you want to - go for a drip, drip, drip approach!

We are going to Paris for Christmas, so that has probably been a waste of money for me. I love the food there, but while dp will be tucking in to everything going I'll probably be retching(sp?) into a hankie and only eating dry bread.
