Can I thread crash to say congratulations to Lunavix - I just heard your good news! Hope you are keeping well.

Best wishes to the rest of you as well, especially Arabica. I had babies at 42 and 43 - both pregnancies and babies fine.

Hello everyone

IM Julie & my partner is Peter and we are expecting our first baby together, we are really excited about it.
We can't wait to hold the little bundle of joy, we don't want to know the sex of the baby as we think it spoils the surprise.

This was an unexpected pregnancy as I got told that I couldn't have kids so as you can imagine it was a big shock but we soon got used to the idea of being parents.

Hi Sheona I'm due 6th August. Cant quite believe it, still a bit stunned :) I'm really excited. this is my first pregnancy. I've just started to feel little flutters in my tummy :) I am in total awe of the whole thing (although the giving birth bit is really scaring me!!!). How are you finding the process? Are you having a home birth or sticking with the hospital?

Hey everyone I'm due my first baby on 13th August.
Had all my bloods done yesterday and was there for 2 hrs!.
First thing was my BP was up, so the midwife thought hearing baby's heart beat might help calm me down (didn't need calmed down, my BP was just high).
Then she could find the baby's heart beat so I had to have another ultrasound, baby was fine. Then couldn't get any blood out of my veins (I was beginning to think maybe I had none when the got it after 30 mins of trying).
Finally they let me go but not before making me very aware of the fact that high blood perssure has to be watched because of the risk of pre-eclampsia(don't know if that's spelt right).
So I'm now searching the web for info on afor mentioned problem.

Happy days!

And here it is.

In the nick of time too, it's just started to take ages to post new messages on this one! See you all over there

purpleturtle · 26/01/2006 16:50

OK. The July lot called it quits on the first thread at 615 posts. So I'm off to start us a nice new one...

Not really, just to save confusion and keep everything together IYSWIM.

Report

Is there any good reason for not starting a new thread?

Report
Nbg · 26/01/2006 16:40

I have broadband but sometimes when it comes to adding a message it just doesn't like it.

Strike1 · 26/01/2006 16:38

I'm not sure what to do about finding out what kind it is. DH whats to know, but as it's our first I think I'd rather not. But I have a funny feeling that I won't be able to wait!

Hope you're doing ok Cheeps, I'm sure it'll be fine, but worth a piece of mind appointment anyway, let us know how you get on.

I think I'll be one of the last to have a scan and head into the second trimester so I don't mind if you start a new thread before that. But I have ok broadband too, so a long one's ok by me as well

Report
purpleturtle · 26/01/2006 16:10

Given that I don't even have a scan date yet, I think this thread will crash someone's computer before all the scans are done! If the thread length is causing anyone problems, just start a new one. I'm on a pretty good broadband connection at the moment so it can handle the mega-thread!

I won't be getting the tests done - never have done. Haven't completely decided about finding out what kind it is. I did say that I would for the 3rd one, so that I chuck out whichever pile of clothes I wouldn't be needing. But then i gave everything away last summer rather than put it in storage, so I don't have that reason. Think I'd rather wait for the surprise. I don't seem to have much intuition about what I'm carrying!

Hi - Ive got my midwife appt on Sunday morning she is coming to my house. I wonder why some visit you at home and others you have to go to the hospital.

There is a lot of dating scans next week - mine is on Thursday morning.

I think we should start a new thread when we have all had our scans or when we go into the 2nd trimester.

I am not being sick at all now and the tiredness is easing off.

Cheeps im sure its ok but for ease of mind get it checked out anyway.

Do you think that your gut feeling to what the sex of the baby is very likely to be right???

Report
Nbg · 26/01/2006 15:51

Oooh another 2nd trimesterer

I'll be finding out the sex of the baby. I couldn't wait until the birth, I'm very impatient.

Convinced myself it's a boy.

Anyone else?

BigHotMama · 26/01/2006 15:48

Afternoon peeps, 3 days to go for me then I'm into the 2nd trimester, I cant wait for us all to be in there, good luck to you who are having scans.
Apart from few weeks of nausea feelings I havent experienced any of the symptons your all discussing, I feel like something is bound to happen soon as I've been too lucky?
My bowels have never been so regular and I think thats down cereal, wholemeal bread and bio activia yoghurts everyday..
Because I've not been sick I think I may be missing out on something? Surely I'm not normal!
Does anybody want to know the sex of the baby?

Report
kitegirl · 26/01/2006 15:04

yep Cheeps it's probably just slight spotting, I had it at 5 weeks (so much that I thought I had miscarried, silly me) and again earlier this week. Go hassle your dr, that's what they are there for.

got my nuchal scan on Friday 4th. Just not sure about these tests, last time blood test came back with a 1 in 120 risk of baby having Downs, I freaked out so much that didn't want any tests this time as it would not make a difference to me one way or other but DH wants to do it. I mean, you wouldn't back a horse with those odds, would you, it's just a number, but still you want it to be 1 in 4 trillion or something. Are you all having your triple tests/nuchal scans done?

Cheeps- try not to worry - not sure if you have seen my post but I'm having a prob at the moment too.my gp was great and said not to worry too much as long as other symtoms are still there and it doesnt get too much.
i think it will reassure you to talk to someone though
my date has changed again to 24/08 ( are you jealous lunavix ? but my gp said to wait till an edd is confirmed by a scan as the dates given on early scans can be up to 4 days out - so i'll stick with you for now!

Hi everyone

olivo your worries have been a lot like mine I had bad constipation too (those bad pains I had) but it was right at the start of my nausea and three glasses of orange juice and lactulose later and I now throw up when I even think of orange juice. They gave me something else called 'senna' too which you take at night, although I can't force any pills down atm (not even my folic acid ) oh and two of my friends got UTIs from folic acid...
and 10 weeks satuday!!!

My booking in is tomorrow... can't wait. Want a scan!!! And a photo!

Hello all. Good news Olivo, glad the retching is doing a reassuring job, hard to remember that with your head down the loo though! I have a constant headach at the moment NBG and my skin is terrible, good job I work at home!

Sorry to add another change to the list Trix, but my date has moved to 24/08/06, but I wouldn't worry about changing it (not that 2 days will make a difference) till my elusive 12 week scan. Still heard nothing from the hospital about a MW appointment or scan. I'm 10 weeks today, so I might phone next week. I don't want them to think I'm a pain cause I've already phoned once (weeks ago)

Excellent news for those heading into trimester 2, hopefully the rest of us will see you there soon
